Also I think how each characters stories connect is a little more nuanced then you give it credit for.

Oh, and three billion years ago, when was originally drawn by some other user on r9k, some of it was to illustrate the reasons why "normies" are motivated to be cruel, and how in essence a less complicated and connected life is a blessing in some ways.
