How's his Spiderman comic gonna be?
How's his Spiderman comic gonna be?
He's not writing it. His preteen son is writing. JJ just has his name on it to fool first issue buyers.
>lol mystery boxes bruh
I swear to christ, this has been the worst device in writing. I hate this chucklefuck for making it a big deal so god damn much.
It's not his, is his son's. And very dull...
I wish more people were discussing this one instead:
>Later this year, three of Marvel's most legendary creators return to the friendly neighborhood with AMAZING SPIDER-MAN: GOING BIG #1!
>Erik Larsen, Gerry Conway, and Mark Bagley unite for a special Marvel 80th anniversary one-shotabout the hero theyhelped become the most beloved character in all of fiction. Written by Conway and Larsen with art by Larsen, Bagley, and more, this killer Spidey story will keep you guessing until the very last page...
At the very least it's made by, you know, actual legends.
>At the very least it's made by, you know, actual legends.
With the exception of Bagley, these "legends" are some of the most despicable personalities on social media these days. Why would I take any interest in a book created by people who hate my guts?
He'll rewrite all the classic stories and call it a "homage"
Hey, it worked for Bendis when he wrote USM.
It gonna start with a bang and have a disappointing end
maybe you could learn to separate the art from the artist
Henry is 21.
Who else is excited to see him introduce time travel into the star wars movies...
the pages will be filled with lens flare
you too watched that rlm video and can't stop thinking it's actually going to happen, uh
>you too watched that rlm video and can't stop thinking it's actually going to happen, uh
All the signs mile pointed out seem too similar to be anything else.......fuck
Probably pretty terrible. This is the most naked example of nepotism I think I've ever seen in comics.
i watched it too, I don't think he's going to do it. The only thing I believe Mike and Rich got right was the Luke becoming like Gandalf the White
Out of everything luke the white is the least bad of the predictions, and its still stupid. I mean what else are they gonna do for this movie anyways, they literally write themselves into a corner.
shit.
Who cares? It’ll be exactly like Kevin Smith’s story; inconsequential, and ultimately forgotten
Im actually shocked at the argument Mike makes. It fits perfectly, and the series is so creatively bankrupt all they can do is retread again and again
I just feel like Disney wouldn't have both of their top tier blockbusters have time travel plots in the same year
When is this coming? I’ll buy it, I’m not sure I’m going to bother with JJs sons book. Has the kid written anything else? Even for Hollywood’s nepotism it seems unreasonable to give the kid the keys to their biggest character
Disney should really give the films a break, do whatever you have to elsewhere(toys, video games, cartoon etc.) but Star Wars films need a long break
Rich's idea of the desert planet being Endor and evil mummified Sheev sounded neat.
That said I think they'll get none of it right, not even Luke the White. I think he'll just be another force ghost.
Everything they came up with was way too out there when after TLJ I think they're going to make this shit as safe and generic as possible.
wait till it comes out, FUCKING READ IT, and THEN have an opinion about it
fucking asshole
>Rich's idea of the desert planet being Endor and evil mummified Sheev sounded neat.
Disney is literally too unimaginative to have something that cool in it, plus the PC nannys at disney wouldnt like the idea of something so metal infringing on their progressive view of star wars. Get ready for more bland designs and red lens flares everyone.
You’re right we should give the kid a chance, he obviously has talent. He’s also out in the work, writing so many smaller characters honing his voice and learning how to write within a shared universe
More questions than answers and unnecessary polar bears.
why would a multi-millionaire waste his time on literally whos
These are the same people who remade A New Hope and called it Force Awakens
What would a millionaire possibly have in common with a poor character struggling with money?
No date yet, we'll have to wait either for tomorrow's SDCC presentation, or the next solicits.
>Has the kid written anything else?
This is literally his first writing gig.
you're right, he should be writing Iron Man instead
Well now I have a reason to hate JJ officially considering what kurtzman is doing to Star Trek and what Lindeloff is going to do to watchmen, why do these people continue to get work?
What he should do is write terrible fan fiction than work his way up the ladder like the rest of us.
>Disney is literally too unimaginative
I know that's why I said they'll get none of it correct. Mike's idea is super dumb but it's something you would never see in a SW film, even it's just a stolen retread of Endgame.
My theory is that we get a total retread of RotJ.
I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and read it. I hope it's good because, of course I'd like some good new Peter Parker stories, but it is extremely questionable that Marvel just decided to hand over their biggest and best IP for a canon (if I'm not too badly mistaken) mini just because of the guy's dad's name. I have a feeling that if some random 21 year old from Kansas or some shit had sent them the same pitch, they'd have just ignored it.
>I have a feeling that if some random 21 year old from Kansas or some shit had sent them the same pitch, they'd have just ignored it.
Definitely. Celbulski shouldn't have hyped it up with a four day countdown and hyperbole like how it was going to make the industry's jaws collapse.
It was also funny to see a few days later that DC announced "Hill House," a bunch of horror books curated by Joe Hill, aka Stephen King's son.
The difference is that Hill has already written comics before, and specifically used a pseudonym to distance himself from King's name when he was starting out.
Yeah they definitely overhyped it
Don't be such a child. I can enjoy a bunch of Byrne's 80's and 90's comics even if I think he was a complete asshole online. And Erik Larsen and Gerry Conway have done good work even if I disagree with them sometimes.
Yeah it seemed like he was out of touch with the perception directed toward JJ Abrams these days.
I don't know, it depends on how his son can write, and we don't have a really good judge on how his son can write. I'd hope he writes fucking better than his dad. Hell, I hope he at least writes a better Spider-Man than Slott.
I didn't want to reply to the guy directly but he sounds like a comicsgater who takes everything the creators say seriously. "Hate my guts", really dude? Kinda doubt any of them think of him personally.
There are no previews of it. So I don't know. We'll have to wait and see
Maybe you should stop being autistic.
