I story time'd an early issue several years ago. I've only read a couple issues cover to cover, and that was with the CWCki as a guide.

I've read Ulysses and Finnegans Wake, and nothing Joyce could muster up was as boggling to my existence as Sonichu.

The joke here is supposed to be that cavemen were dumb. It has no place in the context of this story. It adds nothing other than a random, out of place gag. In a comic which requires you to be considerably familiar with the author's personal life to understand plot points and character traits.

I tried since I was hoping for some laughs, but its honestly a bit of a drag to read. The confusing layout, huge walls of poorly-written text and shitty art really put a hamper on my enjoyment.

That being said, I know what happens throughout the comics thanks to the Wiki. There's no real sense in trying to follow the story, my intrigue came from seeing just how much of Chris's personal life and insane worldview he injected into the comic.

From a literary standpoint it's a psychologically fascinating work. But good God is it mentally tasking to trudge through. So much fucking Sonichu sex. All these power fantasies against DA TROLLZ. The retcons too, by now the stuff I've read isn't the official canon anymore so, fuck.
