Why doesn't she get a renaissance name like Lucia or Marietta?

I would love to see her!

>Lucia or Marietta?
Who the hell are they?

I just googled "female renaissance artists" and those were 2 cool sounding names I saw.

Not at all? She looks like her "brothers". Like, I see zero sexual dimorphism. I get that male and female turtles aren't hugely different physically but they could have at least put some thought into it besides "yellow bandanna".

>Why doesn't she get a renaissance name like Lucia or Marietta?

Because she's a human turned into a mutant, not an animal turned into a mutant. She already has a name.

You'll note that when 2012 kept calling Chris Bradford ""Dogpound" Bradford didn't accept it. Because he fucking already had a human name.

dude its a ninja turtle. fuck off

Still better than Rise.

So let's be realistic: How long before this TMNT run dies and this character is left behind just like Venus was?

You fuck off, fucking tranny piece of shit. You should be killed.

>So desperate to fight SJWs you stealth-remake a thread that didn't even provide you with any actual SJWs to fight the first time

Seriously? Just... go to reddit and get banned there or something.

Those are women featured in art.
Women were of little historical importance in that era. They certainly weren't inventors/artists.

Okay incel.

No they were painters

Her deviantart pictures called her Artemisia after another painter too.

>dude like why do you care about friggin comic characters lmao
this is a comics board. why would i be here if i didn't?

God I would love to have a TMNT conversation that wasn't either "if you dislike Rise of the TMNT you just hate new things" or "lemme tell you how much I hate transexuals"...

rent free

Wouldn't it be neet to become a turtle and become impregnated by a big guy turtle?

If Rise is the first turtles you hated, you're probably a racist.

Why in the fuck would you use mutant turtle blood for a transfusion instead of human blood?

Attached: 20.png (621x359, 149K)

It's what was available

Wasn't that she-hulk's and Beast Boy's origin too?

But she wasn't even the only human there.

I hate how many Youtubers are saying "This is how you add a new turtle!" Fuck those morons.

If they wanted a Human Turned Turtle then April did that already during the Archie Comics and guess what? No one considers a human turned mutant to be an actual animal. And it particularly does not work this time around because a literal part of IDW's story is Hob making it a point that there is a difference between Humans Turned Animals and Animals Mutating.

Hob knows that animals who mutate realize they are animals first and foremost. A human? A human will always default to their human identity like how Bebop and Rocksteady did. So what I'm getting at is those Youtubers saying "This is how you add a new legit turtle" are full of shit. And even worse so many of those bastards obviously do NOT read the comic they actually go around acting like Jennika is this established interesting character when she's very extremely boring and has no personality. Been thumbing down all their videos this week because I hate their garbage views. None of those bastards read the comic and don't even know that this mutated human is being forced because of Gross Campbell.

JENNIKA QWEEN SLAY!!
SHE DA NEW LEADER

I hate anyone that cares about youtubers.

>the new Fe(male)
FTFY

TMNT has been an excellent book since it premiered. A shame everybody just ignored it as.... I don't know a toy comic or whatever, because it came out just about the same month as the New 52, and in a sea of bullshit reboots, it's the only one to look at the whole of the franchises history and put the pieces together with thought and care. It's great.

I'm not really excited or hyped for Jennika turning into a turtle, but I'm definitely interested. After 200 issues of great stuff with only a few complaints, they've earned my patience with trying out new things. It will certainly take a developed but somewhat flat side character and put her much more in the spotlight. It's clear that they've been planning this for a while. According to stuff Waltz posted on twitter, this has been being developed since 2017. They had to get approval all the way up to Nick and so forth. It seems that while Campbell did design a yellow bandana wearing OC, at least according to Waltz, that's a coincidence. I'unno, he'd have to be faking emails for that. Still, he created the character, defined her, and Campbell just designed the mutation. So talk of "oc" whatever the fuck is crap. And they really took their time getting here. With 200 issues of traditional status quo and nearly every well known or even semi known TMNT character introduced and developed, throwing in an oc or two isn't a big deal. Especially since the book threw a great OC, Old Hob, into their very origin already.

The books main problem is that it has just too many great characters worth exploring. We're up to maybe about 40 characters that can show up at any moment and make total sense to do so. I can't even remember the last time Alopex and Raph shared real panel time, and I think they're dating. And as far as female characters go, this book has plenty. I've liked Alopex and Angel as a vigilante buddy team. I could go for a whole mini about them. So there's no need to balance any bullshit scales.

This. The turtles themselves don't really look like turtles all that much. They look honestly very human. The turtle from Cats Don't Dance looks more like a turtle than the TMNT and same to Oogway from Kung Fu Panda. So I don't like the way Jennika looks, like Master Tigress from the already mentioned Kung Fu Panda, just some ugly mannish thing.

Carrying multiple weapons actually works against her rather than endear her to me, serious Tommy/Green Ranger vibes here.

>Forced by Campbell
>Waltz's idea
Okay.

And Jesus why do you give a fuck about if the mutant is human or animal first? Literally why? I've never heard of a fan caring about that. For fucks sake, Splinter has gone back and forth a few times on what he started out as.

Unfortunately these days with the fall of television, Youtubers have a lot of influence. They don't even need to have a lot of subscribers. Just riding the wave of some trendy news piece is enough to misinform hundreds of thousands of people.

Yeah well simmer down until you see her in an issue. Campbell always adds tons of pads and straps and bandages and whatever to her character profile art and covers.

>Why doesn't she get a renaissance name like Lucia or Marietta?

Why would she suddenly change her name just because she's mutated into a turtle?

It's because of the franchise's title.

Because she was bleeding to death and the only viable option left to save her was a desperate hail mary blood transfusion.

Most of the complaints against this are either clearly from people who don't read the book anyway, or people who.... are... rather hung up on Campbell's personal life. Or people upset that they don't want to fuck the turtle. It's at the point at which I just can't take their criticism's seriously at all.

The one somewhat valid one is that Jennika is a bit flat as a character. But of course they go way overboard and say she has no character or development, which is patently false. So if you're just going to speak in pure hyperbole, you're, again, not worth paying attention too. Yes her personality has been sketched somewhat thin, but her journey so far has been to come out of treating the Foot like a quasi cult and coming into her own as a person. Which this mutation is clearly going to influence in some way. If she's not well defined in about 10 issues I'll take that complaint seriously. For now given her past and the midst of the City at War arc, the complaint rings hollow.

IDW will have to go out of business but if it's true what I hear that their sales are very low? Then yeah they're going to collapse probably within the next 3-5 years if they keep on screwing around.

As for the idea of a Female Turtle, this concept will be tried again and again until it's done well. If it's not attempted because of politically correct type busybodies? It will be done again by horndogs who want a sexy female ninja turtle. So eventually I see this concept cementing and becoming a default expectation like how you can't do a TMNT series without Bebop and Rocksteady who were never part of the original comic or even the beloved first Live Action movie.

>Teenage
I think Jennika is late teens.
>Mutant
Well now, yeah
>Ninja
Obviously
>Turtle
Well yeah, she's a mutant turtle now. She fits all four bits. She's mutated into part turtle.

Also, she doesn't HAVE to fit all four words anyway. She's not meant to be a foundational part of their origin. She's meant to be an addition in a series that's run longer than any other TMNT continuity thus far. If any other media tries to do her story and do it right, they'd need like a trilogy of films or a whole season of TV to get to it without it being weird and rushed.

IDW has utterly fucked up their ventures into TV and film. I don't know how well their comics division is doing as part of their bottom line. Sales for TMNT seem to be around 10k. Which in this day and age is.... not good but no sales are good. But that still leaves digital and two versions of trade. So who the fuck knows how an accountant would look at the numbers.

I can only hope that 2003 was the last gasp of was-never-Hamato Splinter.

"First, I - a normal fucking rat - learned the ancient art of ninjitsu, by watching humans. THEN, much later, I got mutated into being part human."

The 87 cartoon was flawed, but fuck if they weren't right to change Splinter's origin. In an otherwise serious-ish story that bit stood out like a sore thumb.

There's plenty of reason to hate the latter. They send them to school where innocent children are forced to tolerate these defective freaks and have to listen to their bullshit lifestyle crap and junk.

I've shared your complaint about the logic, and IDW has the perfect solution. Splinter the rat is the reincarnation of Hamato Yoshi the man. IDW has gone a step further with the turtles being reincarnations of his sons. I'm... not so keen on that. I love the series, but it's not perfect. Still, them getting to meet Teng Shen and hug it out in an afterlife was touching. Quibbles about the turtles aside, the reincarnation angle is excellent for Splinter and I hope other versions of TMNT in the future go with that angle.

go to bed grampa

>TMNT has been an excellent book since it premiered
Stopped reading right there. It's a book that was GOAT up until they took over the Foot clan, and it became obvious the writers had done all they wanted and were now just cashing in paychecks. They need to bring in a new creative team entirely, or reboot the fucker.

10k for a non-Big 2 book is great. What the fuck are you talking about. It's the reason this shit hasn't gotten canned yet.

But... no. They were laying the groundwork for the Pantheon for a while. They've built up and dealt with Krang. The Utrom's on Burnow Island. Hob and his bullshit and whatever the rest of the Mutanimal's do getting dragged along with him.

Yes the book no longer had that clear "we are heading towards X at a clear pace" feeling it had while Shredder was the big bad, but plenty of plots have all been progressing at nice, steady paces. I'm not sold on EVERYTHING. The EDF stuff is kind of trite, Slash spent too long captured without a clear rescue attempt, but there is clear direction. You're frankly lying to say there isn't.

I started reading comics about 10 or 15 years ago and 10k used to be well below cancellation range.

>I'm... not so keen on that.

Why?

"she" looks like a he

I really liked the found family aspect of the more traditional TMNT story. Splinter took them in because they needed somebody to look after them. He's their dad because he's the one who tucked them in and raised them and loved them. Him actually having been their father sort of diminishes that in a way.

Still, we had great moments like when Splinter called a family meeting, April and Casey went to leave, and Splinter asked them to stay, because it was a family meeting. So I still got that found family thing.

Again, I don't like a part of the book to a degree that doesn't mean I hate it. I despise 4chans habit of acting like something is either the best or the worst. I have problems with a book I love, such is life.

Fucking.
Yikes.

Because that wouldn't rhyme with tranny.

That's a wonderful story and I'm glad that our gal is real because of that artist, it's a joy!

Good grief there's a lot of samefag bait-dropping in this thread. 56 replies, 23 posters, and I'm pretty sure one guy is spamming the fuck out of things. We get it, you hate transgendered people, and can't allow a TMNT conversation where that's not the dominant discussion point.

Attached: beating a dead horse.gif (250x231, 786K)

Every thread on Jennika is like this. I like mentioning Sophie Campbell by first name to trigger that guy. Frankly knowing Yea Forums there's two or three.

It reminds of of when BPRD ended and we got chiefly what we were promised, but rushed, and some nutfuck spammed threads exaggerating the problems with the ending for about a week.

Better question:

Should multiple members of the Foot Clan be called Foots or Feet?

>mfw knew Ross Campbell's work mostly because of his artwork on an RPG I liked
>mfw I now find out years later they've turned into an insane tranny and are now ruining TMNT

Why can't we go back to the age where crazy artists just cut off body parts, or spent years holed up in seclusion while eating paint and creating?

Attached: 1552853833891.jpg (330x376, 256K)

Alright, since we've got a TMNT thread up, lets turn it from shit to something better: I heard the IDW TMNT run is actually pretty good, at least for a while. Are the IDW Collection hardbacks a good buy like they are for Transformers stuff?

Because she wasn't named and raised by Master Splinter?

>see this get forced on here first
>outrage rag pundits like thequartering just started picking it up
>the outrage is in full swing
Did you seriously force this THAT hard, or is there some kind of secret SJW outrage discord where you all coordinate on the next stupid thing to try and trigger everyone over?

You made this thread, didn't you? To what end? What possible reason could you have to be so obsessive over this? I'm getting curious.

He's going to keep making this thread. He wants to have an argument with SJWs but... he wants it on Yea Forums, where he thinks he can win it? I don't know man, it's sad and obnoxious because I just want to talk about turtles.

>TMNT member
>implying she wont't be shelved like any other IDW charachter
Have sex

1. The run was great.
2. The run is still really good to great.
3. The IDW Collection for TMNT is better than the Transformers ones. The order is tighter, and the series with spin offs is told so tightly it's like one series. Frankly I don't know how you could read just the core book. You'd miss so many major character introductions and developments it's ridiculous.

Less talk about SJWs and more talk about Michealangelo's big juicy man arms.

Attached: how-to-draw-michelangelo-from-the-tmnt_1_000000000579_5.jpg (800x896, 84K)

How many fucking trannies work at IDW? Good Lord.

>mobile.twitter.com/PelleCreepy/status/1149873385222094848

Did I find you? I guess there's no way of knowing for sure.

IDW is basically 2003 cartoon done right
Without stupid shit like Utrom Shredder and Larid's fuck the 80's show

I do kind of wish Ch'rell pulled some crazy shit where he pretended to be Shredder to gain power or some crap. That'd be a neat nod to 2003. But it seems like he's staying very far away from New York and Shredder may come back much sooner than anybody would expect.

God what was 2003 thinking with Ch'rell?

Dromers are faggots. They like sucking cocks of the IDW creative team.

Dig the design, the only things i don't like are the three toes, the name and the fact she can apparently use all kind of weapons.
Also i want Slash back.

Not that any of this matters since the IP will probably reboot again.

>Dig the design, the only things i don't like are the three toes, the name and the fact she can apparently use all kind of weapons.

Jack of all trades, master of none.

Far better than Venus, who had fucking MAGIC. Yeah, thanks Splinter, apparently ninjas can use MAGIC and you forgot to train your kids in how to use it!

So here's what I gather from this.
>Already obsessive TMNT fan with a worldview that's less pro-anything and more anti-SJW
>has an extreme love of TMNT and an extreme hatred of "liberals" and "trannies" due to hanging around right-leaning people that will tolerate his weird ass as long as he agrees with them
>able to semi-ignore campbell's stuff because they've just been adding side characters and junk that can be easily reversed or changed later
>campbell designs a NEW TMNT MEMBER after slash bites it
>[TRIGGERED]
>The idea of a character designed by campbell permanently becoming a part of the main cast, or even Slash staying dead is enough to send this fan into an irrational, obsessive anger
>queue rumor-spreading and angry spam

Please let them give it a rest for a bit. If they could merge the best bits of 2003 and 2012, and just... let people forget Rise entirely... that would be awesome.

I mean, yeah, but ignore him. Just talk around the putz.

That and people upset at the libs that they don't want to fuck the turtle.

Actually I'd ditch most of that Slash stuff.
I don't recall Slash coming up too much.

I've seen a few mentions that Slash died "for" Jennika, as though he died to make room for her or some crazy nonsense.

Ah. I missed that.

Yeah a book with a cast this big needed to kill one to make room because six turtle mutants would be the line where it gets weird. That makes sense.

Why would this reboot? It's still got easily years of story left and there are no signs it's doing poorly.

This makes me think that most of the spam comes from people who isn't even following the series, the turtles have worked with all kinds of mutants ever since the beginning of the ongoing.

>The IDW Collection for TMNT is better than the Transformers ones
Huh, that sounds pretty good then. I'll have to pick some up when I have the cash to, I suppose. I really enjoyed the IDW TF hardbacks, and they generally collected stuff in a good reading order (not autistically perfect reading order like Yea Forums wants, but doing it that way would also spoil some reveals). Glad to hear the TMNT ones are as good or better tho'.

I can't see Rise doing well. They'll want to reboot the cartoon. For synergy's sake I could easily see them rebooting the comic to be more in-line with whatever they do next.

I'm not saying that's a definite thing that'll happen, but it IS something companies have done repeatedly.

Nobody likes trannies.

There won't be a reboot until another publisher buys the TMNT license. This will inevitably happen after IDW liquidates all its holdings when they file for bankruptcy.

It's really clear by people questioning her name they haven't. Plus the series is about 200 issues in and they act like this is a change to their ORIGIN.

Irrelevant. The character objectively isn't a self-insert, she's existed before Campbell and the only thing she has in common is that they both wear yellow and they MIGHT both have a bow. Artemesia was a special sensitive snowflake creative person. Jennika is a killer.

TMNT so far has been autistically accurate. Transformers had some Spotlights all wacky early on.

The current backstory for the turtles and Splinter is the one i like the most, if they'll ever reboot, i hope they'll keep it.

Also weirder things have happened in Mirage, what the fuck guys.

It won't happen. They produce tie in comics separate from the comic universe for that purpose.

TMNT Adventures was the Nicktoon comic. Transformers had a few that ran along with Robots in Disguise and Prime. The movie had tie in minis too. None of them influenced the core comics.

Or Nick/Viacom keeps this continuity going.

Plus again, we have no idea how IDW is doing.

Oh right, they were doing a comic based on the new cartoon too.
Well, i don't think the flop of one will effect the other.

>we have no idea how IDW is doing.
IDW is one of the only publishers who release their financial reports to the public. They are NOT doing well.

Considering how long it took them to get started on the new season of Wynonna Earp, not good

>Deviant Art self-insert
Quality work from the 166th best selling comic.

...

Well okay, we know things are iffy. I should say that so much bullshit happens with buy outs and investors in business that saying the doors are shuttering in three months or whatever is dumb.

I mean, Dark Horse found a way to stay afloat, maybe they won't shut everything down.

Cool, enjoy your self-insert tranny turtle.
Didnt think TMNT could get butchered any worse than Rise, but here we are.
Tranny turtles.

Woogidy boo I call the artist 'she'. Go bitch to Breitbart and nip at the heels of some dipshit outrage Youtuber.

Look, I'm just saying... it's happened. No, not to any of the big IDW stuff, but we've had licensed comics suddenly vanish because the corporation decided it wanted to go in a different direction with the franchise.

Shit, Capcom shut the lid on Archie's Mega Man without a clear idea of what the fuck they DID want to do with the franchise.

Yeah bit we have no sign of that here. Viacom has had different versions of the turtles out at the same time plenty. They're not so stupid as to think only one version is viable at a time. Plus Capcom is notoriously retarded.

Jennika was created by Tom Waltz, playing on the "this good person started off on the side of the bad guys" which has been done for... well, Ninjara, Alopex (so basically Ninjara again...), Angel from 2003, and Shinigami and Karai. It's an idea that's been spammed, honestly, but it was done decently enough so hey, whatevs.

Sophie Campbell was put on the book and said "hey this character is neat, but would be neater as a mutant, since she started out HATING Splinter for being an unworthy CREATURE."

And Sophie slapping on a slight retweak of an old-ass design she had laying around, figuring that IDW needs a sales boost, so making Jennika another turtle could get some much-needed free publicity.

That's the entire drama that has some user's knickers in a twist, shaking his fists at SJWs and those damn transexuals, who are making transexual turtles (which apparently means "female humans created by writer A turned into female mutant animals by writer B).

There's no further need to discuss the matter.

>Ninja Turtle with 3 different weapons
>Not a DA self-insert

Attached: k.png (472x356, 308K)

Woah you is a very sexy male when you get mad, damn.... I need a breather, you're cute!

They're pretty shitty weapons, and she'd already been established as using multiple weapons before the mutation. The four boys who are each SUPREMELY good at one weapon each are a bit odd. Being "all right" at a bunch of different weapons is more in keeping with a feudal-themed fighter. I mean, it's a damn shortsword, some stupid climbing claws that can be used in close combat ala' Shredder, and a bow and arrow. That's some "congratulations, you passed Ninjitsu 101" shit.

That's not even wholly true. Waltz claims the idea to mutate her was his. Je even goes as far as to say the yellow bandana thing was a coincidence. He shared some emails with Sophie Campbell about the early concept design. In which Campbell pitches her OC and Waltz keeps things not that extreme.

She seems to definitely have a bit of the hyper eager DA fanartist in her, where just any neat idea can go in without tempering it, with Waltz letting ideas gestate in due time and tempering them with nuance.

Dilate, and then 40%

Eh, the original series died after Archie got to make comics and with the shitty 80s cartoon.
It revived a bit with the 2003 cartoon.
It then died with the new IDW and Nick show.

The newest Nick show nad newest comics from IDW are just trying to make a quick buck from kids - so my opinion is: it's not really a TMNT franchise anymore

Angel wasn't really on the side of the bad guys - she was a messed up kid who went on one robbery and wasn't even part of the gang.
She was going to get jumped in but Casey rescued her

rise seems pretty good

Yeah. The official story is that while Sophie had already made a fan turtle in her off time but Waltz had the idea to actually bring in a 5th and asked her for some concept art not knowing she had pretty much prepped for this exact moment, however unlikely it would be.

Sword, bow AND wolverine claws

Talk about overcompensating. STROMG WOMAN!

Jennika even sounds like a Trans name. I honestly don't care either since I haven't read TMNT in years and probably won't. Also this obviously isn't the first time a female turtle has been introduced. I can't help but think this new addition is just a way to help a comic that has been floundering in sales get an artificial boost.

>I can't help but think this new addition is just a way to help a comic that has been floundering in sales get an artificial boost.
I really don't understand this logic.
>comic is doing bad
>so let's make it awful

What is not to get? Controversy sells. You have people buying to see what the hubbub is about and you have others hate buying. It actually works for a short period of time. However this greedy and backwards practice is literally what caused a comics crash in the 90s

Drama. She could look into a mirror, hate how she looks now and be like "the old me is dead, my name is _____"

that's so cliche and uninteresting though

if you're going to write a drastic physical transformation/mutation like that it's so much more fun to write them like a normal human being who's gone through something traumatic over "i'm [COMIC BOOK HERO NAME] now"

>However this greedy and backwards practice is literally what caused a comics crash in the 90s
That had nothing to do with the 90s comic crash

I didn't say it wasn't stupid. I am honestly shocked they didn't do it as the writing in TMNTs is drek.

Why add a fifth turtle, it didn't work before.

Why not just gender swap one or more of the turtles?

That was the main thing of it. The controversy was a symptom of it, not the cause.

Old enough to remember some guy in congress saying that it was better to invest in comic book than the stock market. The LCS in my town had to closed down because of the 90s crash.

I think she is cool. I don't really mind a female turtle as long as they don't pretend her to be part of the team forever. I mean there is no arm in another additional secondary character.

Also, this is only my personal fanfic-delusion, but I would totally like to see IDW Slash mating this.

Attached: artemis turtle.jpg (514x600, 110K)

Can't wait for the character to be forgotten in a few issues and pushed to the sidelines like all of the others. Why do people even thinks she's becoming a "5th turtle"? The new issue isn't even out yet and they never stated that would happen, people are just making stuff up at this point.

user...Slash is dead...

>this is only my personal fanfic-delusion

Jennika was Campbell's personal fanfic delusion until he forced his OC into the comic: So hey, get a job at IDW, and YOUR fanfic delusions might become canon someday!

In space.
He'll be back with some new alien friends.

Or at least that's what i like to tell to myself

>user...Slash is dead...

They killed him to make way for Jennika. Can't have two Fifth Turtles at the same time.

>So hey, get a job at IDW, and YOUR fanfic delusions might become canon someday!

Cool, i'll call my turtle Caravaggio. He uses a gladius and has a white mask.

>So hey, get a job at IDW, and YOUR fanfic delusions might become canon someday!

Good, I would also make Slash evil again, I don't really like that bullshit of transforming every cool villain into some sort of antihero.

IS a mutant, a nuclear explossion would only make him stronger

I mean, most writters who are fans of something and get to work on it puts some fanfic of their own in it, whether you know it or not, the interviews they have that are replacing the leatters page until issue 100 pretty much show how a lot of the people working on the comic were always huge fans of the Turtles.

Didn't Raph becomes a dinosaur at some point in the OG series? Slash Godzilla isn't too far fetched.

Yeah, but that was from getting bit by a vampire.

I think what people are laughing at it just how shitty and stock "OC Donut Steel" Jennika the Fifth Turtle is, not so much the fact that it was an idea one of the creative team members had back before they went pro. It screams "DeviantArt garbage" at a glance, and so finding out that's exactly what the character was, is just too funny to pass up ragging on.

Has anyone on the team even stated that she'll be a part of the main team? Most of the concept art is just to compare the Turtles and her design.

No, they haven't. We don't know a single thing about what happens next, just her design. For all we know, she might even change her name.

Chill the fuck out, people.

So, has anyone been reading Shredder in hell? I want Santolouco back on the main book already, the current artist is unironically the main reason for all of the "Jennika looks like a man" shitposting, he's terrible at drawing women.

Trash

People would be tired of having to deal with the same thread and arguments over and over again despite how many times they have been proven wrong.

It's like one critically triggered guy.

>the current artist is unironically the main reason for all of the "Jennika looks like a man" shitposting, he's terrible at drawing women.

He didn't design Jennika. Campbell did the character model work, two years ago (apparently), and the current artist is just following the model sheet.

The main problem is that every female character looks like shit in his artstyle, compare his April and Karai to anyone else's and you'll see what i'm talking about, also i hate the turtle beak mouths

>also i hate the turtle beak mouths

THANK YOU.

Analysis of a female skull from a convent that dated back to before the year 1000 found lapis lazuli remnants built up in the area between her front teeth and jawbone; the only possible explanation is that she was using lapis lazuli paint to create illuminated manuscripts and was adjusting the bristles on her brushes between her teeth and lapis lazuli was only available from the Middle East at the time, meaning that someone had paid a lot of money to get her the materials she was using. Early animators using female artists for coloring wasn't some weird flash of whimsy, it had longstanding historical precedence.

That's what a turtle's mouth actually looks like. The original designs were closer to frogs.

Attached: 1536925268432.jpg (1800x988, 285K)

I know but you can't just change the mouths like that they're a key component of the design, and we had a shit ton of issues with the the big mouths to change it now.

I honestly thought this was a page from Godzilla in hell.

It's like that but with Shredder and with less body horror

Attached: hellturtles.jpg (1040x1600, 527K)

>Oroku Sucky

You can tell the artist thought he could write, too.

It's a mocking joke made by a fucking ninja turtle what did you expect? Is that seriously what you're going to complain about?

And an exaggerated version conjured by Hell to mess with his mind, at that.

Rise sucks and a female will not save it. The only thing that could save it is an overarching plot like adventure Time, and even then just barely. The show just isn't as funny as it thinks it is.

Um, this is for the IDW comic, not Rise.

>I don't really mind a female turtle as long as they don't pretend her to be part of the team forever.

This is the only problem I have. Adding 5th turtle to the core 4 is IP suicide but another turtle to the turtle franchise is fine.

It's why nobody has ever had a problem with Slash. Or Tokka. Or Metalhead. All have been mutant turtles (or a robot turtle) that have coexisted with the TMNT, but were never forced into the dynamic as new fulltime members.

The problem with Venus and now Jennika is that they were created not to be *a* mutant turtle, but to be "The Fifth Turtle" and join the team full time and fuck up the dynamic. That's why nobody likes them. If they were just satellite mutants that popped in and out of the book every once and a while, like Slash or Tokka or Metalhead, people would accept them just fine.

Tokka was never an ally, Metalhead was effectively the fifth turtle.

>S-stop talking about my favorite shitty publisher d-dying!!

That's what I meant. Tokka was a bad guy. Slash was a bad guy in some continuities, an ally in others. But both were characters that popped in and out of stories when needed, not permanent additions to the team, hence why nobody has ever been bothered by them.

And Metalhead being a "Fifth Turtle" isn't a thing. He appeared in 2 episodes of the 80s series. He appeared in a half-dozen episodes of the 2012 series and was killed off early on. He was a guest character and never a permanent addition to the team even if they kept him in a closet in the lair when they weren't using him.

A "Fifth Turtle" is someone who appears as frequently as Mikey, Leo, Donnie or Raph. Every story, every episode, just like them. Venus was a Fifth Turtle. Jennika may or may not be, moving forward. People are rejecting her out of fear that she will be in every issue as a permanent addition to the core cast. If she fucks off and only shows up every now and again, then no one will be bothered anymore.

So how many of the people in this thread whining about “muh essjays” and “muh whamen” have never watched or read TMNT media in their lives?
I’m guessing a solid 70%

So how many of the people in this thread passionately cheering in support of “muh diversity” and “grrrrl power” don't actually buy TMNT comics or watch TMNT cartoons and didn't give a shit until they got the woke af memo?
I’m guessing a solid 70%

>n-no u
You got me

The beaks don't bother me, all the stupid fucking clutter the turtles wear bugs me.

read

What clutter? Do you mean in the campbell concept art? Not even in the issues he draws they have that much cluter, and even with the current artist they have almost no clutter at all.

Don't put words in my mouth, faggot.

you take that back

Everyday for a week. It's what these outrage posers do with comics and series they pretend to care about. The same thing happened with GI Joe and a dozen other comics for the past two years

Porn when?

I gotta love that the dude sperging out over this seems to be trying to make - get this - comics about Donald Trump owning the libs.

Anyone trying to make a comic literally about how Politician is Awesome really shouldn't be getting worked up about someone reusing a design from back before they turned pro. If you're trying to be a political cartoonist, you've got no business calling other people uncreative.

Boco calling someone a faggot, that's rich.

IDW has been trash for years now. Hopefully they'll die off sooner than later.

>Jennika
sounds like a crack whore name

>formerly
this can't be real

I ain't the one with a dick in their mouth.

They think they're "converting" people when in reality they're making me get real tired of how culture warriors think their opinions are an objective law that must be abided by

Why are people in this thread acting like only one person is annoyed by the tranny self-insert? You sound insane and delusional.

It's a common defense tactic used by franchise zombies to deflect criticism against their favorite book/cartoon/movie. If all the criticism comes from just one person or one small group of people (straight white incel men) then the criticism becomes less valid.

Imagine making a comic about donald trump but he's a ripoff of an anime hero owning the ~degenerate left~

and complaining about a character only similar to an OC on an absolutely basic level being introduced here

It's the "only a small group of misogynist manbabies didn't like Ghostbusters: Answer the Call and Star Wars: The Last Jedi and everybody else loved it" strategy of rewriting the narrative to conceal your own failure.

It is invalid criticism stemming from alt-right butthurt. Got to love the irony of people who were mocking people fir beibg snowflakes ebd up being snowflake in need of safe space themselves.

Because
>it's not even vaguely a self insert if you do even the bare minimum of research
>there's been multiple threads on this subject and literally all of them have been perpetually haunted by a guy obsessively, repetitively repeating the same weird rhetoric near verbatim to the point of bumping the thread himself to keep it alive when no one is biting
>posting the same images, whipping out the same insults and everything

No shit there's more than one outrage hungry righty who doesn't read comics here, but one guy is forcing the issue as hard as he can.

You mean like how culture warriors use the common offense tactic of pretending they're "disgraced hardcore fans" of something when they never interacted with the source material and never planned on doing so?

based and historypilled

there's no way this OC is a permenant team member. it's all promotional garbage

>it's not even vaguely a self insert if you do even the bare minimum of research
The design is based on Campbell's OC donut steel. No one is saying anything other than the design is the same. And when a guy who identifies as a girl puts a girl into an all-male team it's reasonable to assume it's a self-insert.
>there's been multiple threads on this subject and literally all of them have been perpetually haunted by a guy obsessively, repetitively repeating the same weird rhetoric near verbatim to the point of bumping the thread himself to keep it alive when no one is biting
Cause people hang around Yea Forums and if they see a new thread devoted to a topic they were previously arguing about, they pop by to continue the argument.
>posting the same images, whipping out the same insults and everything
Cause it's the same (multiple) people continuing the argument where they left off. You guys are reusing the same counter-arguments but that doesn't mean you're all one person. As for using the same pictures.. As an example, I posted and if you look at the filename you'll see it was saved from the previous thread. It's not the same guy posting the same pic as last time, I saved the pic someone else posted from the last thread and reposted it here.

>a guy

Well, at least 2 different anons posted the same tweet about Campbell. So it's TWO guys haunting this thread.

>it's TWO guys
>Being this desperate to believe that SJWs and trans rights activists form the majority on fucking Yea Forums

Seems more like a bunch of butthurt people are reposting the same screencap over and over again because it lols at trannys or something, not a lone gunman going berserk solo.

Based, it takes one to know one

>And when a guy who identifies as a girl puts a girl into an all-male team it's reasonable to assume it's a self-insert.

No, it's not reasonable. It's outright delusional to make such a claim, especially when TMNT is an ensemble book.

>Being this desperate to believe that SJWs and trans rights activists form the majority on fucking Yea Forums
No one believes that, there is no trans rights activism in this thread, people are tired of the same topic and arguments over and over again, no matter how much they get proven wrong.

Pull the tranny cock out of your ass.

Disagreeing with someone ≠ proving them wrong. And if you're sick of the argument, stop going to threads to continue arguing about it.

Maybe instead it being one guy going into every thread and mocking Jennika/Campbell, it's actually one guy going into every thread and defending them?

See? Retarded hyperbole works both ways!

I don't give a shit about the tranny.

IDW has done some amazing stuff, and people are too fucking eager to wish for their death.

IDW has been shit for years now. It's no surprise you have such horrible taste though.

Have you read any of the comics you call shit?

But you're fucking wrong and a retard. Sophie Campbell didn't put Jennika on the team. Waltz did.

>IDW has done some amazing stuff, and people are too fucking eager to wish for their death.

You mean THIS list of accomplishments?

They deserve to die.

Used to read GIJoe, Ghostbusters, and TMNT.

They made a universe where Ghostbusters, TMNT, and Transformers canonically co-exist. Go fuck yourself.

Because we know that's not what happened so assuming it's only one misinformed retard is better than thinking there are a dozen of you jackasses.

All of those comics got reworked, changed completly or got canned, the only exception being 2016 busters which were most likely mandated by sony

Well. Multiverse.

Attached: tumblr_pj256dJrBi1r2ynxio5_1280.jpg (1280x1093, 443K)

We have proof Campbell didn't invent or create or force the character. All she did was do the design when commissioned. You fucking moron you don't even know what happened here, bit I guess facts don't matter to your feelings?

>Go fuck yourself.

I think I'll fuck your Morrigan body pillow instead. After I clean the smegma off of it.

Close enough. And when the 2016 busters aren't involved (and I doubt they ever will again) the comic is amazing. Same for TMNT, aside from one or two dull arcs.

And the Transformers thing...eh, who gives a fuck.

>All she did was do the design when commissioned.
>she

This is how we know you're a shill.

>We have proof Campbell didn't invent or create or force the character. All she did was do the design when commissioned.
..No one claimed otherwise. He was responsible for the character's design. That's all anyone said.

Honestly IDW Ghostbisters never did it for me. The art is kind of too cartoony for me. The plots are to much like Real Ghostbusters. It's a book I wanted so bad to love, but it just doesn't do it for me. I read up to International.

You lying sack of shit. People are claiming she's forcing her oc into the main book.
She. Sophie is a she. Get triggered sadboy.

At least you gave it a shot. That's commendable.

Here's a post from Campbell at the Technodrome Forums where he reveals that he did indeed design Mutant Jennika for IDW (two years ago).

However, he also insists that Jennika's design was not at all influenced by his fan-character Artemisia's design. Ignoring the yellow bandana, scarf, bow and arrow (seen here in the IDW model sheet: ) and other similarities.

Other than all THOSE things, Artemisia and Jennika have nothing in common.

Or go on Tom Waltz's twitter and look up his posted email conversation with her about it. She was pushing for more Artemesia stuff and then figured out that would be a bad idea. She left it at the bandana as Waltz asked for that.

>looks and feels like somebody's DeviantArt OC, it's beacuse that's what she is.
She'll fit right in then. The entire concept of teenage mutant ninja turtles is deviant art oc tier on a fundamental level.

>Tokka and Rahzar
Who?

You can have a disorder who's current best treatment is transitioning and you're not a fucking doctor.

Big deal. I can make crossovers too, that doesn't make them good.
IDW crossovers are retarded as fuck, and an attempt to boost sales to their dying books.

Let me guess, you're a true TMNT fan offended at a new turtle?

Get out.

Except they are good. Try reading them sometime.

No, I even said that we should wait to see her role before complain.

If Boco likes it, it must be fuming dog shit.

What amazes me most is that Tru.p Owns The Libs ala BNHA takes TWO people to make.

And one if them sure is butthurt that IDW didn't give him his dreamjob of working on TMNT. It's not the libs' fault you're a hack, dude.

>You lying sack of shit. People are claiming she's forcing her oc into the main book.
No one has to 'force' this shit at IDW, the inmates are running the asylum. Generally all any of us are saying is a tranny designed the character, and we don't like the character. If she doesn't join as a member of the main team it's not that big a deal, but given that we're in the runup to a milestone issue it seems likely they will make her an official member by then.

So Campbell legit tried to get his OC into the IDW TMNT comic wholesale, got denied by editorial, so designed a new female Turtle to look like his OC as a compromise?

Not exactly shooting down the accusations people are making.

Fuck dude, you have shockingly bad reading comprehension.

Should have taken inspiration from a sea turtle and made her more sleek, but i don't mind the design.

Jennika mutated because she got a blood transfusion from Leonardo, so the type of turtle had to stay the same. Also, the Ninja Turtles are like vampires or something, now. Or they have mutant HIV...

>>woman
>Looks kind of like a man to me

Sophie Campbell is a (((((woman))))) who looks like a man, so it makes sense to me.

Not when the established team dynamic is one core weapon per turtle. It would be fine if they all got extras as well but deviant art newbie being the only one breaks the flow.

Archie did it back in the 90s (in a story called "The Fifth Turtle" no less). April got mutated into a Ninja Turtle with a white bandana. She was cured at the end of the story, though, and it was played as a sort of self aware gag that April was always, in her way, "the fifth turtle" and that the TMNT didn't actually need a fifth mutant turtle to join them.

Attached: fifth04.jpg (467x690, 96K)

They made her even trashier than she was before.

I think the mutagen they already pumped into her before Metalhead fucked the whole thing up is the real catalyst for mutation. Combined with Leo's blood, here we are.

I'm still pissed that IDW skipped a bunch of issues and minis when they reprinted the Archie run.

>I'm still pissed that IDW skipped a bunch of issues and minis when they reprinted the Archie run.

IDW is afraid of Muslims. Though it sucked that the issues that bookend the Mecca arc had to be cut, too, because of trade paperback length restrictions.

What established dynamic? The turtles fight alongside a dozen other characters all the time. Nearly every major fight is a group effort.

That's what I mean, they cut FAR more than they needed too. And they didn't even try to edit out the few pages. Nor tell is they would be doing that. And they skipped the April and Leatherhead minis

IDW hires you to add into the series your own self insert character into the universe.
Which kind of character yould you include?

She's yet another addition to the original 4. The internet will be outraged for a few weeks, the comics will come out and range from mediocre to pretty good. They'll figure out that literally nobody cares about comic-only characters in stuff like this and she'll become a cameo/pop-culture reference in a series about 5 years down the line and that'll be about it. Happened to Venus, happened to Mona Lisa, will happen to literally any Turtle they try to add to the franchise.

Why, the fuck, is Mikey a Loli?

They MIGHT go back and do the various minis now that the ongoing is done. But IDW's reprints wing has been a mess for years, so who knows.

Because all waifu demographics must be represented

I have a better question, why is not everyone else a loli?

>IDW hires you to add into the series your own self insert character into the universe.Which kind of character yould you include?

KIRBY the Fifth Turtle (named after the greatest artist of all time, Jack "King" Kirby")!

He's a mutant turtle from another dimension where he had no brothers and had to fight the Foot Clan ALONE! He defeated the Shredder and the Foot all by himself through his mastery of every martial art but had to chase the remnants through a dimensional portal to the earth where the TMNT live! He's more tech savvy than Donnie because Kirby's world is a future dystopia, he's a better leader than Leo because he FLIES SOLO, he's a bigger loose cannon than Raph because he spent his whole life PLAYING BY HIS OWN RULES, and he's WAY cooler than Mikey.

Kirby the Fifth Turtle. COMING SOON!

Attached: Kirby.png (1000x1446, 2.73M)

In the 90s this could have happened and no one would have bat an eye.

And almost did. Twice.

It's the artstyle, all the female characters look like shit so of course a more rough character like Jennika will look like a man.

She is a completely new character though, it seems. They could have just give her a renaissance name in a first place.

They weren't planning on turning her into a turtle from the beggining, it would've also been too obvious.

It would be pointless and make no sense. She's not part of their origin or anything.

>They could have just give her a renaissance name in a first place.

She is not going to be a permament member, they are not reconning, she is not some sort of "lost" member of the family that was found.
She is just a character that will work with them temporary like lot of characters have done before.

She still might get one, we don't know.

The one female artist I can recall off the top of my head is Artemisia Gentileschi, and she’s a Baroque Artist not Renaissance. Don’t see how you can shorten that like the other names the turtles have.

Artemis.

FEMALE TMNT that are female

That art, character and back story are all legit, taken from the preproduction materials for the 4th live-action TMNT movie in the 90s that got cancelled. The content got reworked and then divided between the 90s TMNT cartoon and the Next Mutation TV series (Kirby became Venus).

You see user, they don't actually read the comics they complain about so they wouldn't know that, the only thing they know about transformers comics is those two panels that constantly get reposted here.

They called out the shitty IDW tranny Transformers comics early in the thread, chief:

why did the fucking mutant turtle give blood instead human lady below ?

What happened was beyond any tranny shit, this was all in addition to the tranny shit.

She was the closest to a doctor they had. Couldn't risk her being incapacitated.

Blood type, I guess?

If they're smart, "not a match, can't donate". But I doubt they think that far ahead.

Its time to call it quits when a fan-artist designs a more effeminate looking male than a hired professional drawing a female

Attached: 1563391274936.jpg (500x479, 60K)

They needed blood with mutagen in it. In IDW it has healing properties.

But they sent Casey off.
And April for that matter. She has to leave because she has a business meeting?
This was awkwardly back-traced from "How can we make her a mutant turtle" rather than happening organically. It requires tons of characters to make uncharacteristically stupid decisions, Jennika included.
It's Zack Snyder tier writing.

April was never there.

They needed mutagen.

Ooze, not mutagen. IDW made "perfect mutagen" really complicated in their canon for some reason. There are four components/steps.

>Ooze
Utrom creation, has healing powers and can enhance people like a super steroid. Can reverse or stop aging if a person is suspended in it.

>Mutagen
Refined ooze that can mutate animals into anthropomorphs, but it does not enhance their intelligence. It can mutate humans into anthropomorphs and allow them to keep their intellect as a workaround.

>Psychotropic Serum
Gives animals human-level intelligence.

>Perfect Mutagen
Ooze, refined into mutagen, combined with psychotropic serum. Only THIS can mutate an animal into an anthropomorph with human-level intelligence.

IDW has been sort of struggling with these rules they made for themselves as to how ooze/mutagen works in their continuity. It at the very least makes creating mutants a pain in the ass, so the book wasn't inundated with them for a little while (but then Null came around and she can pump out mutants like a factory, so never mind).

Attached: ninjara.jpg (675x680, 108K)

>Ignoring the yellow bandana, scarf, bow and arrow
That's all we have seen in Concept.

All official art (a cover, and a panel) just shows the yellow bandana.

I remembered her being there but yeah you're right she's just teleconferencing.
She's been criminally sidelined lately

>It's another "Tommy is the villain" story.

Fuck Boom.

If you follow it up the chain, you'll see the artist works for the animation studio making Rise of the TMNT

but most don't get the surgery, user, they'd rather keep their feminine girlpenises.

>That's all we have seen in Concept.
Even i f it were JUST the bandanna color that'd be enough. Visually the core TMNT were just color+weapon for like 25 years. Arguably it's just weapon if you look at the red bandanna times.
So why the hell are we acting like there's enough to differentiate between Jennika and Artisma now?

Because their personalities are different too.

I mean she is weaker than the turtles, so probably has extra weapons to make up things.

She's Splinter's second in command. A role previously taken by Leo and Karai.

To be fair, Yellow is literally the only color that would organically fit with the other turtles.

Clearly you can't use green.

And she is also Foot.

It takes 60 foot members = 1 turtle.

Black, grey white, and Cyan would work. Brown might as well but it has the same problem as yellow does where it might look too much like orange under certain lighting conditions.

So she's in a Schrodinger's state between highly skilled ninja and canon fodder mook.

From now on we should call this defective freak show Gross Campbell. With a name like "Ross" before he switches sexes he deserves to be called Gross.

Slash had black.

Go write more Trump fancomics ripping off manga.

Oh boy! A new, "Original" female character being added to the main cast of a beloved decades old IP?
Marietta sounds like a great name, they coulda shortened it down to "Mary", but also given her the nickname "Sue".
I can't wait for her to out perform all the boys, most likely beating them all at the same time, single handedly.

>green texting "Female"

Where did get that quote from?

also, I did post wrong color wheel.

Attached: colour-wheel.gif (300x298, 13K)

>Why doesn't she get a renaissance name like Lucia or Marietta?
Some Deviantart-tier decisions went into making this OC

This tweet only upsets me because it was clearly made by a Sneed poster and they should all be hung from the same gallows as trannies.

The deviantart concept had the name of an artist

But Jennika was a pre existing female, she wasn't made to become a turtle.

Even worse, was Cassey Jones love interest. Now he would fuck a turtle

I want a joke of Casey saying he still loves Jennika, but asks her to wear a red Bandanna.

Human blood doesn't have any mutant healing factor going on, and that's what they needed at that point. They had been trying to use a combo of mutagen and ooze to do it, but Metalhead burst in and started wrecking shit, so that was out. The turtle blood transfusion was the last available option to save her.

Eastman was asked about Venus de Milo in the letters column many months back, and he said he'd like to do something like that, but obviously not in the same way. I guess this is that.
And no, I'm not surprised Sophie Campbell wants to put her in a yellow bandana, Sophie is a shitty writer who ought to be fired. Trying to force Alopex to speak like a fucking valley girl? That's Renet's gimmick, dammit. It remains to be seen what color her bandana will be when the new issue comes out, but if it's yellow it'll be because Curnow, Waltz and Eastman felt like yellow was fine, not because they secretly let Campbell write the comic uncredited when nobody's looking.

Them being retarded babies was fun.

The artist on the current issues can't draw a female character at all well, hopefully he gets swapped out for somebody else soon.

>Even i f it were JUST the bandanna color that'd be enough
Enough for what? To trigger a bunch of faggots who don't even read the comics? That's already obvious.

He's got a very grainy sketchy style. It's probably good for horrific moments and fucked up monster stuff, but I'm really not liking it for the action stuff. They lost some artist last minute and he was able to step in, so I guess there's a certain amount of beggers-choosers here.

All I want is somebody who can draw mai waifu, Sally Pride, without making her look like shit. I mean, look at this, she looks like a dude, and a fugly dude at that.

Also I want a Sally Pride mini series so she can get some goddamn character development, and a pinup poster to go on my wall, and uh... nevermind. Just an artist that can draw female characters will have to be enough.

Attached: ugh what.png (911x347, 427K)

I like Sally too man but jeez come on. Has she ever looked too much more feminine than that? She's definitely one that should look like a tomboy.

I don't usually go REEEE, and yes I find SJW shit obnoxious but in this specific case it's just wrong regardless of how well it's done. TMNT is four bros. You can't put a chick in there, not in the main cast. Because the main cast is four teenage bros that say cowabunga and eat pizza. Look at this chick
What's her personality? Le ebin stronk wimmin.
I don't even want to fuck this turtle, that's how disappointed I am
>but there was a female turtle somewhere in the comics
Don't care. That was a mistake too. TMNT is 4 90s dudes. You wanna modernize it and change the dynamics, make another show.

Well yeah, being tomboyish is part of her charm, but she's definitely looked better than that.

Attached: GeneralPride.png (949x571, 878K)

Wachter is not my favorite TMNT artist, that's for sure. He needs to make her hair have a bit more volume and give her form some sort of curves. He doesn't seem to do curves. Ever.

She was super cute in #065, too.

THE STORY SO FAR...

Prolific TMNT writer TOM WALTZ put Splinter in charge of The Foot, to explore the idea that the ancient clan has a mix of good & bad members, with a string of bad leaders. Waltz invented JENNIKA, a "good" ninja saved/ raised by the Foot. First distrusting and disgusted by Splinter, he won her over and she became his second-in-command. Waltz wanted to make Jennika a new female turtle (Nick approved in 2017).

Waltz turned to TMNT artist/writer SOPHIE CAMPBELL for art of Jennika as a turtle "sister" with a "yellow bandana" (to match her human hair) and distinct weapons.

Campbell, years earlier, had invented a female turtle with a yellow bandana and distinct weapons. Since a lot of thought had been put into "Artemisa," Campbell suggested importing many elements into canon, then backed down upon finding out how much Jennika had been fleshed out. Campbell drew the "yellow-bandanna sister turtle" that Waltz described, adding Shredder claws since she was Foot Clan, and bringing nothing from "Artemisia" aside from a bow.

This infuriated MARK PELLEGRINI, a self-described "Turtles Archivist." Pellegrini has limited experience in comics, making some pro-Trump parody comics. He says he worked for IDW - his contributions were "co-designing" two of the MANY variant covers of IDW TMNT comics. How a writer co-designed a COVER (that was basically a Back to the Future homage) is unclear. Due to his political leanings, Pellegrini was especially incensed by the news that Campbell (a transgender artist) had a "big" impact on TMNT, and tweeted that the character (largely what Waltz had asked for visually) looked unoriginal. Of note, Pellegrini's published works are: a Boku No Hero Academia parody of Trump owning libs, a parody of Trump as a bunny (published after Pence and John Oliver's bunny books), and the BNHA Trump again.

Then this nonsense got imported to Yea Forums.

MEANWHILE: Actual TMNT fans want to get back to talking about the books/bashing Rise.

Based TMNT recap bro!

Also, more Sally, with nameless EPF goon.

Nobody cares.

where's the panel of her on her belly in the grass
dem jeans, bro

I go by what someone has had their name legally changed to, what they publish under, or - as in this case - both.

If you care more about grinding your political axe than actual clarity and understanding, that's your problem, not anyone else's.

Ross? His name is Gross Campbell.

All I'm going to say in this garbage thread is you posted Sally. So I leave you with the following...

Sally Pride does NOT look like a lioness at all. She looks like a generic mangy cat jut like Hob which is a sign of the retarded hacks who draw for IDW TMNT. I hope I'm not the only one who hates this junk.

And fuck the rest of this thread.

gross

The beat summation of the actual sequence of actual events yet. I may copy/paste as appropriate.

She looks more like a mountain lion than a Savannah lion.

I thought she was a mountain lion all along. I think this dumbass here is the first time I've seen someone claiming she's supposed to be an African lion.

Slash is dead. He's not using it.
Actually, I'm honestly surprised no one's claimed that he died to make room for Jennika as the 5th turtle yet.

To link Jennika's mutant design to Campell's OC.

>then backed down upon finding out how much Jennika had been fleshed out.
Barely?

you're a retard if you think that's true

Wait, some nobody on twitter made fun of the comic and you're this upset WHY?

Some dude on Yea Forums has made like a half dozen of these shitty threads, so his pasta response is warranted.

Jennika went to prison at a very young age, was taken under the wing/protection of a Foot Clan member who gave her some training. The imprisoned Foot Clan ninja got killed by another inmate. When Jennika got out she joined the Foot out of deep loyalty to the woman who had saved her, and became fiercely loyal to the Clan. She went back and killed the woman who'd murdered her mentor-protector, and had been single-mindedly loyal to the clan until Splinter took over, at which point she went "a fucking RAT?!?" and tried to off him, but ended up respecting him and becoming loyal to him when he wrecked her shit. She eventually became his right hand.

So... maybe not the most rich and nuanced of backstories, but she was more than a blank slate when the idea of making her into a female turtle was being kicked around. All of that stuff had been either published or was written and awaiting publishing.

You heard it here, archaeology is a scam.

What issue is her first appearance?

To be fair, there's a few steps in between "we have a skull of a woman who clearly colored some shit" and "there was a long-standing culture of women colorists before the early days of animation."

Fair enough.

Issue #51 according to the TMNT wiki.

The last time Turtles and Power Rangers crossed over, there was a female turtle, too.

MOMMY!

So wait. She doesn't show up until AFTER they've challenged Shredder for leadership of the foot clan and killed him? Despite being this super loyal lifer foot clan member?
Where was she during the initial coup?

An artist was asked to design a female ninja turtle with a yellow bandana. The artist had years earlier designed a character that had those traits. Some of the old design elements are still found in the new design, what with them both being female ninja turtles by the same artist.

Some user acts like that's all in some way significant and meaningful, when it's really not.

I believe she was unnamed before then. Not that it matters much, her personality at the start of #51 is "BEEP BOOP I AM FOOT CLAN SOLDIER, MY LIFE FOR SHREDDER!" It's when he dies that she has to come up with some new notion of who she is beyond her foot clan brainwashing.

I checked led the TMNT wiki, and it lists her as a lion. Though maybe nobody really knows. If it's retconned, it may be this series first.

Not just all of that, but her story under Splinter is her learning to form her own identity and ideals outside of the Foot. To essentially become a whole person and not just a cult member.

I mean, she was one of the many many foot clan assassins who were still alive after the death of the Shredder. Clan custom dictated that they shouldn't all just fall on their swords. Shredder dying just meant he was too weak to lead anyway.

You're into that fetish denim porn, aren't you?

>her story under Splinter is her learning to form her own identity
Well, she didn't do a very good job of it. And going from a copy-paste Foot Soldier to a copy-paste Ninja Turtle is a lateral move at best.

Lion != African savannah lion. What's more likely, she's a mountain lion, or she was supposed to be an african lion, and nobody on the staff made it clear or checked the art before greenlighting it, and now every artist has coincidentally drawn her as a mountain lion by mistake, for like four years now?

Attached: Sally's plan is not so good.png (1143x842, 1.36M)

Frankly we didn't really have any named Foot outside of Karai and Shredder before that anyway. The trainer guy?

Going by Waltz's emails, the plan to turn her into a turtle was hatched (I'm owning that shit pun) around the 60s. So she was already getting fleshed out, but he let the story really take it's time to get there.

She's well on her way. She's stood uptown Splinter a few times. She's started to date Casey and talk about her past.

And she didn't go from grunt to turtle, she went from second in command of the Foot to turtle. She's skilled.

>She's well on her way.
Nigga she's been round for 44 issues, that's like 3 and 1/2 years. She should be more than "well on her way" to being fleshed out and interesting by this point.

DYERTC? There's like 30 characters at or above her level of importance. It's kinda crowded since TMNT Universe got cancelled, and not everybody gets the development they should.

Pacing and focus is that bad, huh?

It was better when universe was around, thought now that Macro and mini series are back it might fix that problem

Seriously this is the kind of book with a cast of hundreds which gets by on thinly sketching much of it's cast. Transformers, GI Joe, Harry Potter, tons of shounen, X-Men, the Legion, they all do this.

And just what would make her well enough developed for this sort of plot development? It really sounds like the "poorly developed" argent is code for "not muh."

Isn't the one with Jen putting on the yellow bandana done by Santa?

Heh.

Transgender aside, anyone can legally change their names to whatever.

>It really sounds like the "poorly developed" argent is code for "not muh."
I was thinking the same thing. She has a pretty good bit of backstory as listed above, but that's apparently not enough for some reason.

I just want to see if Casey's gonna date Turtle-Jennika.

>I just want to see if Casey's gonna date Turtle-Jennika.
>"I like you the way you are, Jennika."
>"Casey..."
>"Could you put the red mask on for me?"

What's got me laughing is how bullshit this whole nonsense is, because honestly Artemisia's design is pretty different from Jennika's, once you factor in that all the turtles are deliberately VERY similar looking (even moreso in IDW than the last few cartoon versions).

Artemisia: Blotchy yellow facepaint(?), bandanna covering her mouth, usually drawn in ways to convey she's "shy".
Jennika: Actual yellow eye-bandanna, hood and cloak, definitely not "shy"
Artemisia: Minimal sexual dimorphism, because that's silly. They're turtles.
Jennika: She's a girl, so she has to wear pants.
Them's the Sonic the Hedgehog rules.
Artemisia: Just a bow and arrow.
Jennika: The bow and arrow are carry-overs, but there's also foot-assassin claws and a shortsword.
Artemisia: The short little sister.
Jennika: The tall older sister.

99% of the visual similarity is that they're both mutant turtles in a series that prides itself on making the turtles damn near impossible to tell apart when they're naked.

Seriously, is this the vehicle to break them up and move him back toward April? Man, that's cruel for Jennika. Yet I admit I ain't liking seeing man on turtle.

Conversely, will this ship Jenny with Leo? Of the turtles, she's far and away closest with him. If City at War ends with the start of our normal Karai redemption arc, are we looking at a damn love triangle?

I'd be down with dimension hopping Tuetles Forever style where they run into a Sophieverse.

Anyway, as far as them looking the same, I actually think Santoloucco perfected the different body styles that Nick introduced. He's the one I'm most interested in seeing draw Jennika.

>Frankly we didn't really have any named Foot outside of Karai and Shredder before that anyway
It was almost entirely mutants. It's amusing reading that issue again because Donny is in metalhead's body after Bebop and Rockstready completely wrecked him.

>And she didn't go from grunt to turtle, she went from second in command of the Foot to turtle.
Only because the role of second in command effectively got made into that of a grunt.

>And just what would make her well enough developed for this sort of plot development?
Honestly? Nothing.
The number of characters that would qualify for the coveted spot of becoming "The 5th Turtle" can be counted on one hand. And I don't mean a human hand, I mean a Ninja Turtle hand.

I hope he Draws issue 100, he needs to get back to the main book after SHredder in hell.

>becoming "The 5th Turtle"
So you're mad about what you imagine they're gonna do, got it.

Attached: Imagined realities.png (221x277, 9K)

Yeah.... not really. No. Splinter was impressed by her development from attempting to kill him through the Triceriton invasion.

Luckily I just don't give much of a shit about altering the traditional status quo after 200 issues of faithful development.

I figured that book happening so close to 100 was no coincidence. I'm sure it'll effect things after 100. I can't wait to see him come back to the main book either.

nailed it

I'm thinking this is going to be Next Mutation arc

>5th turtle
>Shredder being taken over by the Dragon

It can't be a coincidence.

Attached: Prodrag.gif (285x342, 34K)

>hat you imagine they're gonna do,
They're going to turn her into a mutant turtle. Or better said they already have.
(We already have a cover variant of her on the team)
And let's not pretend the book is Shakespeare. She's obviously ending up in Clan Hamato, The only real mystery is whether or not Splinter is going to survive this gang war.

The only thing that really got me about Waltz's emails to Campbell was how... performative they feel. She writes side books often, and comes in and out of drawing them too. She should be up to date on the IDWverse, since she's clearly a huge fan of the TMNT as a whole. And yet in those emails Waltz started by acting like she hadn't read the book in forever? That had to be close to when she did her Karai arc in Universe. It was just weird. It did help that feeling that two emails in she was saying that of course she's up to date, but she needs more of what Waltz thinks of the character. Still, weird.

You clever bitch.
You've given me a silver lining on this whole thing.

Has any other version of TMNT used anything from Next Mutation? Even Tokka and Razar show up in a game or two.

>The only real mystery is whether or not Splinter is going to survive this gang war.
I doubt it. This is probably How/When splinter goes to hell to help Shredder.

She's 100% going to spend some time with Clan Hamato. But will she become one of them and stay around for a long time? For 12 issues or such I'll consider this a story arc. If it goes longer it's a new status quo. I don't mind either, I just can't get any kind of read on where they're taking this.

Authorization from Nick doesn't amount to much. They needed authorization for Mondo Gecko having band tshirts, which they didn't get.

God I love Leonardo. Always will be my favorite turtle.

This person didnt invent the fucking color yellow

No, and it kind of sucks.

The idea of a gang led by Silver is hilarious.

>For 12 issues or such I'll consider this a story arc
I'd be extremely surprised if City At War doesn't last another 15, easily. There's just too many factions.
Which is annoying because obviously Karai is gong to win in time for Dragon Shredder to come back and hand it over to him

...Its the foot user

I don't think that's him, that's Shredder's memory of him. I mean we've seen tons of living characters in Shredder in Hell already. It's all ephemeral headgames.

Japanese doesn't have plurals. So the plural of Foot is Foot.

I think it's a 10 issue arc and we're two or three in. I kind of thought it would end at 100, but fuck if I know.

I expect him to come back and steal it all away from her in a way that sends her down her normal redemption route. Time will tell.

OH SHIT ITS LAVOS!!!

anywhere we can read this?

Eh, Campbell would've been pretty busy on Jem and was an irregular TMNT contributor. Being a bit behind is mildly surprising, but understandable.

Not really, only really minor shit like Venus being a decal in the 2012 turtle wagon, Tokka and Razzar were in the 2012 show too.

Foot no tachi

I had to look him up to remember just who in the hell that is.

Yeah. Yeah a Yeti in a bad pimp suit 100% needs to come back in a big way.

Slash is too fucking cool to spit on his legacy like that. He sacrificed himself. You gotta respect that.

There's an TMNT comics mega, search the archives.

That could explain it a bit I guess. It's just that she got the turtle job on the back of tons of fanart. I just think it should be obvious she'd be buying her copies once a month like the rest of us. Just a weird thing in the emails that made them a bit suspect to me. Also the way Waltz insisted on things happening organically sounded like it was meant for outside readers. It was just a tad odd to me. Everything he described made sense. I actually suspected he got the idea for turning Jennika into a turtle based on her Artemisia fanart, but that was wrong too. Though I wonder if they would want to not mention that to avoid legal troubles of that was the case. Obviously I over think things and get a little paranoid.

>Yeah. Yeah a Yeti in a bad pimp suit 100% needs to come back in a big way.
Hell, make it even bigger.

Silver is also the stand in yeti of the 13 monsters from TMNT.

Have each monster be a leader of their own gang and the turtles get caught up in their own war

Oh shit thanks. I stopped reading when universe was like 10 issues in. Got too much to collect so I have a fair bit to catch up!

I stopped watching 2012 right around when Dogpound mutated into Razzar. That was really an awful design. I didn't know they ever did anything with Tokka.

I've been meaning to watch the rest of that show.

>What established dynamic?
He literally just told you, user. Stop pretending to be an absolute dunce.

Where abouts?

no is a posessive marker.
You just said Our Foot.
it would just be foot-tachi. Well, Ashi-tachi.

He was also voiced by Garry Chalk. Shit I may have to rewatch Next Mutation.

Remixing the monsters in IDW lore... how could that work around the Pantheon?

that's
the stupidest fucking name
stop trying to make girl turtles. but if you did, name one after a female renaissance artist
OH THERE ARENT ANY? maybe that's just the way it is sometimes

Just like it's downright delusional for a man to identify as a woman. Yet here we are.

taking care of the home is incredibly important

"Female turtle" is too generic an idea, and Artemisia and Jennika are waaaay too different characterwise. Artemisia's origin was that she'd been a fifth turtle all the way back in the original bowl. It's an AU where there'd been a fifth turtle from the start. Jennika is a human turned into a turtle.

I can see why Campbell went "oh neat" for a split second upon hearing that the new "sister" would have a yellow bandanna, but I feel comfortable classifying this as a big coincidence. I personally wouldn't have gone with yellow, but since red, blue, black, purple, and orange are taken, yellow was kinda on the short list.

Here you go, user.

Thanks dude!!!

Yeah, I don't really know what I suspect from those emails, other than confirming my suspicion that I'm too suspicious. Something like they were written in the last few days to settle some of the boneheaded arguments people who have never read the book have been parading around.

Is that Santaloucco? He does the best turtles.

Using some cringy Deviantart OC instead of Venus, the female Turtle that already exists

Literally fucking why

Attached: 1561615949693.gif (500x350, 468K)

Yellow should be April's

The problem is that the bow is useless close up. They could've given her just the Shredder claws, but giving her a distance weapon as her signature piece while also arming her with something for close combat seems... sensible.

Okay, it breaks the "dynamic" very slightly. Somehow I think people interested in the story will be able to carry that cross.

ah yes venus
literally the worst character in the tmnt mythos

Because not a single person likes Venus. Reading between the lines of Waltz's emails, Nick apparently doesn't want her mentioned.

Ha. I buy the IDW Collection hardcovers and after the Jennika twist noticed April already has a yellow spine for her cover volume. So Jennika can never get a full cover using her color. Whoops. This was planned, but not thaaaat far in advance.

Tokka was a giant alien moster that was the villain of one of the episodes, the turtles had taken Tokka's kid by accident at one point so she came to earth to get it back, then fucked off back to space with her kid, Rahzar was still a relevant henchman for most of the series as well, he got killed twice though which was fucking hilarious.

Attached: Tokka(tmnt2012)-22.jpg (1050x602, 358K)

No reason to try dragging 2003 out of nowhere. 2003's art also devolved, but not nearly as quickly as IDW's. And 2003 introduced Bishop while IDW butchered him. 2003 also did not bring this turtle into the world.

>how could that work around the Pantheon?

Remember the monsters were just a catalyst to Winter's attempt at immortality.

So perhaps

>Long ago
>Pantheon are a threat, or Daddy Dragon was around and the group had to do as he said.
>Winters, and his group, fought against the pantheon and lost.
>Winters. losing his brothers and sisters, swears on vengeance and performs the ritual.
>The ritual gives Winters immortality, kills the dragon, and sets loose the monsters (aliens from Dimension X? Or other worlds, doesn't matter.)
>The monsters goes off into the world to hide, some being Cryptids, meanwhile Silveri is a cryptid crime lord.

You could even connect this to Null, she could also be the "jersey devil"

Also think through the group dynamics in the comics now.

Leo: Astral plane and blade mastery.
Mikey: Best fighter and friendships with the Mutanimals
Donnie: Absurd levels of genius and inventor friends.
Raph: Berserker rage and friendships with Casey, Alopex, and Angel.
Jennika: Uhm. Weapons?

Basically everybody else has a lot going on outside of fighting. At the least giving her a jack of all trades thing can help close that gap to a degree.

Characters can be rebooted and fixed

IDW's art bounces all around based on who's available. While Wachter is doing mediocre work on the main book we have Santoloucco doing what he does. All the Macro's had good art too.

They gave April a white headband the one time it happened for who-knows-what-reason, should've given it to Jennika

I'm not sure how I feel about IDW April.

Say what you will about 2012, but at least it explained why a girl that had received NO training most of her life was able to improve enough to be a bit of a threat - mild mutation giving a psychic warning-sense. They fucked it up with Jean Greying her, but it made more sense than a random college kid becoming a Foot-level combatant from lessons she got in her free time.

They literally had to get permission from Kevin Eastman to do this, and Eastman HATES Venus. Nearly as much as Peter does. They needed to do everything possible to make sure the new girl didn't remind him too much of Venus.

Plus Venus sucked. "I'm a shinobi, but with magic, not weapons! What, didn't your sensei teach you magic? No? Huh, kinda a shitty sensei..."

>You could even connect this to Null, she could also be the "jersey devil"

I was really iffy on your ideas until here, but you've totally sold me.

Getting a good explanation for Null would be great.

also I love assholes getting mad at Jennika as some SJW plot while not even knowing about Null's gender flip.

Yep, Santoluoco is the man.

Attached: Sally Likes It!.png (275x254, 84K)

Raphael is the Hothead/tough-guy, Donatello is the nerd, Michelangelo is the carefree devil-may-care one, and Leonardo is the straight-man of the group

Jennika is _________ ?

Attached: TMNT 4.jpg (2559x1439, 463K)

Snophie (formerly Ross)

Not according to Nick. They don't even want to try with her.

Not if the guy whose permission you need to get says "if you fucking mention that character to me, I swear to God, I will fucking end you."

Eastman and Laird have made it no secret that they loathe Venus and consider her the lowpoint of their careers. Which, considering some of the things they signed off on, is saying something.

The vagina.

IDW April doesn't know martial arts? Huh?

Also they didn't have to get Eastman's permission for this. But they wanted him on board. He's been a sounding board and idea guy, sort of a creative editor, on the whole run. They wanted to win him over.

Viacom owns the franchise outright. They don't need to get Eastman and Laird's blessing to use any character.

>while not even knowing about Null's gender flip.

I think the reason is that characters like Null and Jagwar are so insignificant to the importance of TMNT, no one outside the fandom really care.

>Santoloucco
He's a good artist, but I liked his earlier work on the series. The direction they took the design, from the longer and more detailed turtles into big-eyed chibis, is what really came to irk me. I though IDW would be THE definitive TMNT run for awhile, but at this point I prefer the original. It'd be nice to have a run that doesn't make the world so huge and so mutated so quickly. I loved stuff like Bloodsucker.

Attached: 24-4.jpg (592x578, 92K)

I'm still pissed at Laird. He has permission to finish v4, but he's just fucked off from doing it.

I hope somehow after reprinting v3 IDW starts a project where they get him to finish it under their imprint. Just to get the Mirage universe done with class would be so great to see.

Well right now she's the human that's been traumatized by being turned into a mutant. We'll see where they go with things (she seems to be a few years older than the boys) but right now she's the one that needs to learn a lot about being a turtle-person.

Eastman's in the writer's room, though, he gets a writing credit for every issue. Answers letters sometimes, too. You don't just tell the guy "FUCK YOU KEVIN WE'RE USING VENUS 'CAUSE SOME GUY ON THE INTERNET WAIFUS HER, MAN!"

I forgot Jagwar was flipped too. That all was weird. I'm still really iffy on taking classic "normal" villains and turning them into Pantheon members.

Eastman works for IDW now though. If they hadn't gotten him on board early on, they ran the serious risk of him stepping in and trying to use his clout to torpedo the whole thing. Even if he's not technically in charge, having the guy that co-created the whole franchise against your idea is a BAD idea.

It's better off dead, Laird's v4 run was increasingly ludicrous and stupid. I thought the Image comics book had some dumb shit, then Laird went and had microscopic radio-controlled turtle bots injected into April's blood, killing parasite with tiny little kung fu moves from the TMNT pilots.
Eastman rules, Laird drools.

Sure, Venus was a stupid character, but isn't this one even worse?

I really think IDW is the definitive Turtlverse. it's got bits of everything. It's great.

I agree they do need to take a few one offs and so forth to explore some of their strange odd cryptid style encounters.

I don't recall Santaloucco getting chibi with his designs. I think it comes down to coloring. Shaded coloring makes his work look really intense, but flats make it look cuter. Campbell did go too chibi, though she's talked about dialing that back in the retrospective in 95 (Thank fucking god.)

One could argue that making concessions to allow some of the more fascinating traits of her personality (Weapons lol) to shine through is forcing readers into compromising what has long been the standard dynamic for a character who simply shouldn't exist in the first place. Jennika is going to have alot to prove to alot of people. I look forward to seeing if the writer can have her sink or swim since, as evidenced by these threads, Jennika has been a boring nobody whose death shouldn't warrant her slot as the official fifth wheel let alone a turtle. Only time will tell.

Isn't only Manmoth the only real villain of the group originally?

Though yeah, Rat King has been slight antagonistic to basic villain.

That's fucking retarded.

I still want the original creator/s to be able to put a period on the whole thing. I'm sure it got sill, but how often do creators in comics get to tell a story spanning decades?

>Sure, Venus was a stupid character, but isn't this one even worse?
I mean Venus' existence literally broke just about everything of the TMNT lore.

How so? Jennika's had 40 issues for fans to get to know her, and her transformation wasn't just "here's your new turtle, you love her now!"
We don't even know where they're going with this, unless maybe it's the Next Mutation arc like that clever user upthread posited.

>I don't recall Santaloucco getting chibi with his designs

His early version of Mikey had those big buck teeth and a very doofy, cutesy, childish face, if you remember. It was received very negatively and to Santolouco's credit, he listened to the critiques and adjusted Mikey's design (getting rid of the dumb buck teeth).

No. It is incredibly hard to be worse than the long-lost secret female turtle that was raised to be a magic-user more powerful and knowledgeable than the boys.

Jennika is automatically better if only because she'll be going "Shit, fuck, I forgot how to be a turtle!" after getting a crash course from the guys.

I should say using any existing basic turtle character feels weird. I'm sure they have a few mystic characters that would fit that template better.

Eastman loves Venus and Next Mutation, it was Laird who hated her.

N
No?
>Venus: pompous weird muppet turtle with freakish shell tits and magic for some reason
>Jennika: Esetablished human ninja character forced into becoming a turtle who has a history of violence greater than the brothers, leaving some interesting story angles

>a character who simply shouldn't exist in the first place.
lol
>as evidenced by these threads, Jennika has been a boring nobody whose death shouldn't warrant her slot as the official fifth wheel let alone a turtle. Only time will tell.
Wait you don't even read the book yourself? Of course.

Eastman is the one who designed Venus and even did promotional work for Next Mutation, like photo ops with the suit actors. He never had a hateboner for the show, like you said, it was always just Laird.

You took the bait friend.

>Wait you don't even read the book yourself? Of course.
I don't get why these people who clearly don't read the comic are getting mad. I mean why do they care? They didn't read it before, and they're obviously not gonna start now.

Goddamn they're such opposites. I want a gag comic with them as Bert and Ernie.

I forgot all about that.

Sounds like he took critique with class, good on him.

Because they saw "female turtle" AND the word "transgender."

I cannot imagine better bait for getting the attentions of casual fuckers that haven't read any IDW but want to weigh in like they have something worth saying.

Either people who have never read the book acting like this changes something about their origin or 200 issue long history, or people upset they don't want to fuck the turtle, or the final group is people claiming she's had zero personality when it's just not one they found exciting.

I can see what you mean. I'm glad that the Pantheon is mainly original characters.

Toad barron is a bro.

I seriously want to see this so-serious Foot ninja woman struggling and being an idiot because she no longer knows her own biology.

I would pay so much money for a scene of her just sitting there horrified, wondering if she's going to start laying eggs or some shit.

Toad Barron is the perfect fusion of Dionysus and Chaotic Neutral.

I'll also amend my complaint with Rat King is sort of okay, since he always had this weird semi mystical bullshit around whatever he was doing.

>Not wanting to fuck the tough tomboy woman shocked to suddenly find herself in a turtle bod she doesn't fully understand

When did Yea Forums fill with weaklings?

I'm worried they won't play with the comedy. That they'll just cut from body horror back into the action because of where we are in the story.

I want a few scenes of her living with the turtles, at least to adjust, and Mikey forcing her to watch trash movies to unwind. I figure she'd get really annoyed at Wuxia films, then get even more annoyed if, let's say, even Leo kind of likes them. Her personality can be a bit of the stick in the mud. You play that right, it's nice comedy.

>Slash is too fucking cool to spit on his legacy like that.
But Jennika's such an important character. She's earned it.

I mean, even if they don't do it themselves, that's where the fandom should really step in. There's comedic potential here, if people would just get over the initial "but it's different!" spazzing.

...I can only commission so much porn, please have mercy on my bank account

That's a pretty shitty attempt, but have a courtesy (You) anyway.

Look, man. I'm not going to say that you have to commission Jennika receiving a secondary mutation from mutant cum exposure and actually getting fat platron tits, but if I were in your position...

Michael Dialynas does a decent Sally too. He plays up the tomboy bit a little more, but it still looks like her.

Attached: Sally with a wrench.png (291x768, 205K)

Young, fit, no blemishes, probably doesn't talk much until she's screaming. People really wouldn't fuck her?

You guys are weird.

Karai does NOT deserve redemption. She deserves what happened to her during the episode Same As It Never Was, getting murdered by April. Just blast her with a sniper riffle and scatter her brain matter all over the damn street after all it's called City At War and I'm sick and tired of this Mary Sue who wanted to murder little children just because Splinter said she's not allowed to turn them into child soldiers for her death cult. God this character is tremendously unlikable.

>And 2003 introduced Bishop while IDW butchered him

Thought I was alone in hating IDW Bishop. Grab a sympathetic antagonist and turn him into some not even a midget, but turn him into a solid fetus baby adult thing wearing a suit no different from the Utroms? Complete garbage. now whenever I see Bishop showing up I'm always looking at his torso where he truly is.

She doesn't. Yet. I want them to find a way to make it all work for the legacy of the character across different TMNT continuities. I sort of expect them to because of how they play off of and fuse that history.

Being skilled and a character you don't like doesn't make her a Mary Sue.

I don't like how they're obviously being Pro-Feminist. Hob is male cat so he hates humans. Sally is female cat so she's chill with humans and socializing and doesn't hate Human Mutants. You can already tell where they're doing with this. Sally WILL split up from Hob and become the Good Mutanimal Faction.

Dude not every thing is radical far left politics.

>wearing a suit no different from the Utroms?
Dude, the whole point was that it was stolen Utrom tech.

So just make him an utrom.

This. Sally's backstory is different from Hob's. Null's military training/indoctrination setup for their mutants was different from Stockgen's experimentation, and her reaction is different too, as it should be. She shouldn't be Hob 2.0, she needs to be her own character, and she is. You just need to stop viewing everything through politics-colored glasses, is all. Get outside that echo chamber once in a while.

That wouldn't make any sense. He's a funhouse mirror distortion of the Utroms, but he's not an Utrom. He's a human freak who fanatically defends humanity from freaks. Thematically, it's a gold mine.

So make a new character, don't call him Bishop.

Then you'd just be mad that there was a new character replacing Bishop as the earth defence force guy.

Luckily I never wat had 2003 because that 4kids sound mixing was so bad I figured I would wait for some Shout Factory dvd release so that at least the resolution would be better.

Unluckily that has not happened.
