I've been waiting for the new issue with little patience!
This Zdarsky run on Daredevil has been phenomenal - art, story, and writing -, and I think it will be the first time I support a comic book.
Via trades, of course, floppies look terrible on shelves.

This almost feels like Fisk is getting ready to leave New York City and take on the state. Which would be an incredible idea and have issues with everyone so it could never happen. Besides, I think this is happening similarly in Punisher right now where The Thunderbolts have magically reappeared as NYC-licensed heroes.

Hello, I just recently finished all three seasons of the netflix show and have come to adore this character. Matt is an absolute mad lad but he's entertaining as fuck.

Whats the best of the best for this character? I know the frank miller stuff is good, and my friend said the waid stuff is fun. I see there is a good stretch of bendis, but i loath his bendis isms. Is his run of daredevil from before he started smelling his own farts?

In terms of Marvel I think The Hood started out that way before he got jobbed to Punisher or Spider-Man.

If you like the Netflix show try Miller, Bendis, Brubaker. Avoid Waid. Waid is very good but the complete opposite of the Netflix show.

If you're morbidly curious look up Shadowland. That sort of relates to a lot of The Hand's stuff at the end of S1/S2/The Defenders. But be prepared it gets real fucking stupid and "ZOMG I AM THE DEMON KING NOW AND FOREVER ABOVE MY PAGODA ON TOP OF THE JAVITS CENTER OH NOES FRIENDSHIP HAS FOILED ME" really fast.

Especially for something as quick to read as a floppy, it would be better to have it on a shelf so I can quickly move on to the next issue.

I mean, I like the netflix show because it was good, not because it was gritty. I'd rather read good comics than mediocre comics that rehash the miller stuff. I'm glad everyone is so positive on the waid run.

Never pegged Matt for being into the thicc girls. Though I do like how she's not made out to be this naive innocent unaware of her family's activities. She's knowingly complicit in everything, even if she doesn't approve of it.

Ehh, let's not kid ourselves by pretending that this whole "calling out the criminals" scene only exist because Matt was addressing a white crime family. Had it be a black gang or, Hell, even a Mexican cartel, Marvel would've never let a writer just out and out say, "You're scum who justify your actions through a victim complex."

or maybe it's because Daredevil is notably stationed in Hell's Kitchen, which is a historically Irish community, and very few Irish people are naturally black/latino.

I've never been a Daredevil guy, but I like it so far. Darker than I would've expected from Zdarsky, but not full-on misery porn.
