The humor is pretty standard post Adventure Time CN fare as far as I can tell.

Not that user but I’m refreshed by Mao Mao’s selfless nature despite putting on airs. He huffs about being “stuck” with the Sweetiepies, but also learns all their names and interests, and deeply desires their affection— in a humorously dramatic manner.
He also has a lot more self discipline than most angsty dark heroes. He talks about practicing every day, and the importance of meditation— which he presses upon his pupil to the point of absurdity.
When he (finally) learns he’s wrong about something, he goes over the top and publicly apologizes in a completely over dramatic fashion and promises to grow as a person. And so far it seems like this trait didn’t simply “reset” at the end of the episode either, which I personally find enjoyable.

To be fair, the app can get international attention (another reason CN is shifting focus to it instead of their American broadcast), so a lot of that is probably from Asian countries because of the wuxia and kodomo influences.

The dialogue and voice acting have this very natural feel and everybody talks like they are a real person. The anime style also mixes well with the American dialogue based bits. One of the lastest polls I saw on EQD for favorite seasons pulled in 10,000+ votes and had Season 1 nearly tied for worst season along side Season 3 but that's only because Season 3 had half the episodes of every other Season. Based on multiple polls the most accurate season tier list is Season 5=7 >> 4 > 2 >>>> 8 = 6 > 1 > 3
Obviously this is subjective not objective but long story short, Season 1 is LONG away from being the best. Even if you put it over 6 and 8 it's pretty meh compared to the top 4.

The building itself seems to function as a stealth field since King Snugglemagne explains that without it's cloaking power, the valley is completely defenseless.
However, we did see that it also functions as a barrier as we see in the first minute of the first episode.
I'm not exactly sure, but maybe it's both.
