We interupt your regularly scheduled Yea Forumsntent for a legion of superheros thread, mainly becuase bendis is coming and were all very scared so to ignore that we shitpost and talk about which legionaries are fucking and who we wanna fuck
Guys like him and Karate Kid coming off as younger in that show was a nice touch. It really felt like everyone was getting older.
Gavin Ramirez
either way BB is good and i love the subs in general
Kevin Peterson
The Legion doesn't work anymore because is too optimistic. Compare it to more popular alternate futures, those are always desolate wastes or Orwellian dystopias.
Josiah Morales
user i n these trying times we need optimism more than ever
and besides 9/10 times the legions stick is hope in the face of despair
To keep a thread going we have to have THINGS to talk about. So I'll go first with my thoughts and predictions of this new Legion. Bendis is really going to take advantage this dystopian setting and add alot of Kamandi elements to the new series so prepare to see furies. Superboy will bond with certain characters closer to his age or maybe race, probably either Cham or Mon-El. I'm gonna sound like a tumblr-rite but I do wish Querl comes out of the closet already. Preferably for Mon-El.
Lucas Foster
Since L.E.G.I.O.N is back together, let's pray someone who isn't Bendis is writting for them.
Gabriel Jackson
Another way to keep a Legion thread going is to talk about Wildfire's gender identity
This run is going to fail. It will be interesting to read and have story-times for, but I can't see it selling well. Legion is now like Fantastic 4, irrelevant. Most of the designs have been altered to the point of "unrecognizable", fans are pretending this is fine but it's just a sad act. Post Woke Mark Waid and DnA knew what they where doing with the post-boot reboot. Stay faithful to the silver age as much as possible and not to change too much to anger the core fanbase and then add new ideas along the way.
I could just be wrong, and heck maybe it might work. They're trying to appeal to a bigger and new demographic instead of the fringe original fan-base. Ok. But the thing is, you have to sell this to people. And that isn't going to be easy when people ask you "Legion of Super-Heroes? So is that like teen titans in space?"
its probably gonna fail a: theres no new "hook" aside from mediocre designs and a fucking italicized logo (i still cant believe sook calls that modernized) b: as you said there are like 50 other teen super groups so the fact that this one is in the future isnt enough of a lure c: this is only isolating the book from old fans who hate the designs d: its bendis, people who know bendis either, dont buy comics but pirate them, or dont read his comics but will pirate them to laugh at
Cooper Ward
fuck cw >tease losh >make them barely anything like the original >keep brainy >make him a fuckin autistic reatard and give him the worse fight scenes
the only cool scene was when he got fuckin rebooted and turned semi evil
Jose Gutierrez
I bet Yea Forums could create a better legion within a week if we wanted to. It would probably be more interesting and more diverse then Bendis's gay ass legion.
Characters that should be race-bent: Ferro Lad ( Make Him Black Again) Saturn Girl (still white coded, but with pink skin and elf ears like the cartoon) Cosmic Boy (Dark Skin Asian I guess cause he's family is lower classed) Triplicate Girl (Hispanic or a Japanese ganguro) All the inhuman colored characters should look a bit more alien. Like Brainy being half cyborg and Umbra having nocturnal features.
Everyone else remains white or at least different variety Caucasian of Light/dark skin tones. Because I think turning everyone into pocs as something that makes it "Modern" now, sets a bad example.
thats what i liked about the cartoon, it had little things that made the allien characters more alien looking >tinya had pale pupils >imras large pink eyes >vi was pale
hell even cos had purple eyes to give some alien feeling
Aaron Nguyen
Wait, since when? We've seen Vril, but he didn't seem to know Lobo and I don't think we've seen anyone else?
Samuel Bailey
The trade solicitation for one of the Superman trades showed up recently and it contains some potentially interesting info. >Superboy’s world will change forever when the Legion of super-hero affairs arrives and offers him a job in the future!
Why would they be called the Legion of super-hero affairs? Are they a government agency now? Some kind of committee that oversee other superhero teams?
Jaxson Sanders
And hey, if we wanted to go on and add "gender identity" with our legion.
Relating to the Wildfire discussion. I KNOW he's a man. But it would be interesting to have characters doubt it. Like Brainy could see him as a "it". Like he's just a copy of the consciousness of the original Drake Burroughs. Kinda like the doctor who episode with the shadow monsters eating the geologists and their suits temporally persevering a copy of their subconscious.
Cham's race are male and female, that is fact, but when they are in their mid-stage (in Cham's case a teenager) they are gender-less until puberty hits him/them. Reep being uncomfortable about a different gender/sex expression, especially given his difficulty with fitting in with the team of humanoid girls and boys. It's like a dude having homo panic, up to the point that he masculinizes up about 100 levels to prove how not gay he is.
I'm not sure if Brainy is the right person for that. He's from a race where replacing your body parts with mechanical parts is generally accepted and you get uploaded into the internet when you die. He's also related to a dude who was not only a clone but also the mind of the first clone transferred into a new clone based on the first body. So he probably shouldn't be out there questioning people's ability to exists.
Jeremiah Martin
this i always hold to the belief that as far as coluans are concerned your "soul" is your mind so as long as thats intact your still yourself
the downside to this being that damage to the mind is one of the scariest things to consider on colu
Aaron Wright
But he is a huge selfish jackass though.
Juan Martinez
if anything brainy would sooner tell wildfire to get over it and stop bitching to him
Joseph Jenkins
"The ball of energy thinks it's a person." "You sproking dumb bastard! It's because I AM! And stop calling me a IT!"
He might deliberately antagonise Wildfire for a while, but unless it's the Threeboot he actually seems to have enough tact to not constantly pick on people.
Robert Anderson
new legion should be kid Jon going to join Legion Academy after Damien wont allow him to join his new Teen Titans. then you could have new characters plus the older (now middle aged) Legionares as teachers. (toss in a few "kids of original LoSH" characters in the school)
>Legion Academy A great idea, but it will only be used by lazy writers as a oc machine.
Christian Perry
its because writers are still trying to be edgy like alan moore was for a few years in the 80s. so they can go "comics just aint for kids anymore" even though no kid has read a comic for the last 30 years.
Nolan Young
>oc machine And that would just make Bendis hot and bothered.
Jonathan Phillips
saturngirl is smug
Luke Sanders
IMAGINE THOUGH A future high school with Jon and the Legion's kids. Jon would also have his own hot cousin XTC to hang out with.
Which makes it very interesting that pre-boot Brainy's dad died from space-dementia, a disease that could very well be genetic. Not that any writer has used it for anything.
William Thompson
Legion could use more OCs instead of just repeating the same legion stories from 50 years ago. Plus you could keep the "adult legion" around to go on adventures with Superman (or on their own) would be a good way to give Jon a superhero ID OCs are fine if they can find a good artist to design them
Brody Ramirez
Isn't there also some sort of rule that you need to have a biological gimmick or induced power instead of a gadget?
Thomas Murphy
would be weird for Jon to know that Supergirl will eventually grow up and have a kid and that he's going to school with her. I guess he would have to keep in secret or get a mindwipe
Carter Wright
i think black/asian bouncy is fine so long as he is drawn cute
triplicate girl is basically mentally ill. not completely because her selves acting different doesn't affect her ability to function as a person, but by her society's standards she's basically severely autist/biopolar
It's alright, she's a Brainiac so something horrible will happen to her at some point and he won't have to think of her anymore
Ryan Rivera
I liked alot of the Barry Kitson 3boot legion designs that being said...it was fairly unnecessary...could just have kept on going with regular legion but they CHANGED their clothes at some point
Isaac King
>Mother tortures and dissects you as a toddler and she gets caught and banished. >Doctors "revive" you and give you prosthetics not to save your life but to keep you as a Guinea pig for your 12th level knowledge. >Force you to wear emotion inhibitors so you don't rebel. >Watch your dad slowly die in his bed from space dementia.
I think Querl has many excuses for acting the way he does.
>legion kids Mon-El and Shadow Lass: Blue Monday Supergirl and Brainy : XTC (from kingdom come) Saturn Girl and LL = ValidusLad (I know they had twins but one is now a mini versions of Validus after being cured from darkseid's curse)
Asher Harris
no matter the 'verse no matter the gen' brainy must suffer again and again
Xavier Morgan
I like the idea of combining his parents. Kajz probably has to be the non-Dox parent for it to work, but it makes for some great suffering.
Bonus suffering too, because Brainiac 4's soul is stuck with Neron and there's no way he's not forcing her watch all of this go down.
Jayden Stewart
I want a story where the legion and L.E.G.I.O.N crossover, Querl tries helping out Vril capture Lyrl but Lyrl tells him about the deal Vril made with Neron. And Brainy looses his shit over it.
Ian Bailey
Also Colans live for 800-900 years. So maybe Lyrl could be around as a extremely old guy in the 30th century.
Owen Long
The ONLY good thing that can come from Legion getting BENDIS'D are the reprints. Anybody got a guess on how long it may take?
Cooper Bailey
Guess what Vril almost did in Showcase. But yeah, I can totally see Lyrl doing that out of spite and I would love to see it in print.
ive never seen brainy as a smoker but ive always imagine him hitting to bottle pretty heavily >coluans have a higher tolerance to alcohol than most species >in order to get fully shitfaced brainy just starts chugging like 31st century everclear
Logan Rivera
He has bottles labeled with a legion members name. The hardest drinks have "Garth" and "Lyle" on them.
Daniel Green
But is he a sad, angry or happy drunk? Or some unholy mix that sets fear into all of his friends because they have no idea if he's going to cry, scream at things (probably mostly himself) or laugh at everything they say?
Kayden Gray
i hope bendis doesn't fuck him up too bad. he has the potential to be a really amusing worldbuilding character. he's like a one man interior design/dye factory.
is it less offensive or more offensive for him to be gay? he was pretty effeminate in the cartoon
Parker Cook
12 thought tracks user querl when truly blackout drunk is a force the universe trembles at >to this day the legion still tries to forget the 'brainy post 52 mojitos incident'
Gavin Parker
>lyle >decides to uncork that bottle and take a swig from it just to annoy brainy >chokes once he registers what he's drinking
Jack Garcia
He's also a one-man solar sail, so that should also be interesting.
Lincoln James
So basically every emotion there is while draped over someone who is kind enough to take care of his drunk ass?
>is it less offensive or more offensive for him to be gay? he was pretty effeminate in the cartoon These days anything you do is offensive to some rando.
My personal idea/theory: >vril is murdered while lyrl's still pretty young >he can't handle legion and the organisation crumbles >takes what resources he can and fucks of into space alone >starts to realise that it feels like everything around him is controlled by something >tries to hunt down whatever it is that's behind it >doesn't realise that he's just semi-aware of the fourth wall >makes a lot of enemies along the way and very few friends >may possibly still be in contact with ciji but no one else >lives like this for hundreds of years, paranoid and strangely hunted >returns to colu when he's 600-700 years old >trades his DNA for resources, thereby allowing them to fertilise an artificial womb to give birth to B4 >disappears again >is found dead on a far off planet under mysterious circumstances >colu covers up the whole thing so that they won't have to deal with it
Maybe not dead, but if he is, at least give him a computer copy of himself to exchange this information of a controlling force to Querl.
Lucas Parker
he hides his pain in tasrmias tiddies
Ayden Phillips
A digital log that has been uploaded to a server Querl gains access to at some point. 80% paranoid ramblings about "the force" and 20% less paranoid ramblings about how awful his life is.
Either one of them could be a stand in for all the losh writer's fucking up the continuity with reboots to amuse themselves
Eli Turner
i like to think lyrl fucked off and made a sanctuary type place where he lived and experimented with geneticly modified shit and maybe some cybernetics as well, eventually out his pathological need to prove his superiority to his father he took some random coluan bitchs dna and made b4 and tried to raise her, but ultimately he was a mediocre dad
my other side head cannon is that he's still alive in the 31st century via cloning and mind transfer and occasionally b4 swings round to shoot the shit with him and shoot him
Christopher Gomez
mediocre dad and his kid kinda lacks a soul.
Carson Williams
He's just going to hide from the fact that he has a grandson, isn't he?
Kinda hard to raise a kid without a soul though. He was a nightmare as a kid, and he has one, so one could imagine that it would be ten times worse without one.
We need to give Mano a Mr.Freeze redemption ark. Dude killed his whole family and planet by accident and is only apart of the fatal five to get closer to killing his old boss. He should sacrifice himself saving the legion.
well to be fair b4 does have desires n shit still she just lacks emotions, i see it more so as she wasnt a tough kid to raise because without any emotions she just kinda learned fron lyrl and they each did thier own thing but as she got older she grew more and more unstable as she experienced other people around her feeling things and her wanting to as well
Justin Walker
She also lacks empathy and all that, so she would probably be very practical and quite cruel from the start. Even Lyrl would realise that there's something very wrong with her.
Michael Thompson
I know people are tired of retreading silver comics for ideas, but maybe just one wouldn't hurt. Specifically a retelling of the first appearance of Computo. Querl, when he was still on Colu was a pretty lonely kid, no one would or was even allowed to interact with him. So in his spare time he creates himself a new friend, a small robo ball he names Computo that he talks to. Years later after RJ saves him from that hell, he recovers his old Computo bot and reboots it. But now that Querl is older and actually starting to have real friends. He really doesn't need it anymore. Something in it's circuitry goes wrong with this and takes control of a military bot to terrorize the city and kill the legion. In the end Brainy painfully puts Computo down with a laser bazooka and cries as he watches it die. Little do they know Computo digitally transverse itself into a hospitalized girl in a lab. Obvious hinting at Computo's return for revenge
Logan Jackson
I blame Johns for taking so long to finish and halff ass DClock.
Jonathan Harris
Thats probably the reason why they're getting rebooted, Dc had plans to bring back the original LoSH but the writers of Doomsday clock wanted to take forever to make their pointless master piece. Rebirth is dead now because of them and Bendis. Get ready for current year New 52.
>shitty books >villain event >continuity? what continuity? Seems like it
Oliver Miller
Weellllll.... since we keep having LoSH threads popping up thanks to the evil Bendis. We should take advantage of this. Yea Forums Losh fans, instead of complaining about this soon to be short lived reboot of the legion we instead should create our own /co legion web-series. With the ideas and stories that would actually interest people and tell a finished plot.
his relationship with vril is mended until he is murdered himself along with the whole LEGION and vril lives for hundreds of years as a hermit until the durlan pops into the 'present' and starts acting as his sugar daddy using his money so he has something to devote himself to
If any of us are going to do it, it's gonna have to be a small ass team of three or four people. If not, nothing will get done.
Michael Brown
sorry user but we dont have enough drawfriends for that
at most we'll get greentexts which include the occasional pornfic
Jackson Bell
You just need at-least one talented enough drawfag. (I'm trying to get to such a level at least, but I'm not giving up). We shouldn't just have these good ideas locked away in our brains unused. That's such a waste of talent that shouldn't be forgotten.
Charles Martinez
I mean, refine it some and you could certainly redo it for a new audience
Is this really how LoSH threads are going to go? Complaining on how Bendis raped the Legion and posting softcore porn? Isn't there more than just this?
We've had a couple of threads over the last few weeks with some nice discussions, and I guess we're just kind of running out of steam at this point?
Jaxson Bailey
I guess we should wait until September 20th to bitch again.
Jason Bailey
The 11th of September, they're going to show up in Superman first.
Anthony Perry
I'll be careful if I where you, I've been noticing that newer comics pull this trick where they revel the actual interesting stuff you bought the comic book for in the very last two pages. It's fucking bullshit.
Jaxon Myers
Like thats not even how cliffhangers work, but writers do it for quick sales.
Isaiah Cruz
They're on the cover and the solicitation implies that the issue will be mostly about them, but I'm not going to buy the book unless Bendis manages to improve rapidly in a very short amount of time.
I don't buy a lot of comics because they're honestly mostly mediocre, but if it was pretty much any writer (save for the likes of King and Lobdell) I would be paying for losh. But alas.
im honestly just waiting on draw user to deliver for now
Michael Hill
I really like it when the Legion are portrayed as Clark's friends and when they have a past together, but it seems like DC (aside from John's) have been trying to remove them from his backstory recently. They weren't even featured on any of the variant covers of Action Comics #1000, and it seems like this new take is just going to bring them further away from him.
Maybe it's because they want them to be "fresh" or whatever, but it feels like such an arbitrary reason to remove something that is just really nice.
Benjamin Garcia
I can probably get that small comic of brainy acting like a doofus done tomorrow. But I'm going to completely scrap all plans for that Brainy and the five supers one. (Sorry user who wanted that one)
Brody Reyes
Bendis was obviously lying when he took "influence from the silver age" then. Fans will belive anything that pleases them.
Eli Barnes
I don't think that man's going to be inspired by much of anything aside from his own ego. He doesn't give a shit about continuity or characterisation as long as he can write long, stupid comics and virtue signal about random "issues".
Cameron Ortiz
You know if you don't like this run, we could just make our own alternative legion to turn to, just saying.
>Dc had plans to bring back the original LoSH but the writers of Doomsday clock wanted to take forever to make their pointless master piece The fucker promised there won't be no delays, I mean it was never supposed to be like Watchmen and it's not going to be so why take so fucking long? It's weird how the Bendis arrival and Rebirth losing fuss happened at the same time.
Thanks for the offer, but my writing is very rusty right now and I don't have any particularly inspiring ideas so I don't think I'm of much use right now.
Wyatt James
That's probably because Rebirth was just a extremely well planned out marketing gimmick. "We listened to the fans! No more reboots, we're bringing everything back that Flashpoint erased. Legacy is what the DCU is about now." What fucking bullshit.
It feels like it has been DC's turn almost constantly since Flashpoint...
Samuel Robinson
Bendis' DC work overall has been good honestly. The problem is that the weak stuff has been the space shit. also some people are like creepily mad about no kid Jon anymore.
the complaints along the lines about the Legion being too diverse or like people cosplaying heroes are insane.
unironically I hope there are a lot of OCs which is insane when the starting cast is like 15-20. in a perfect world we'd have a Tales of the Legion comic with rotating creative teams telling different stories. I want Tom King to do an Espionage Squad story
I think the Superboy stuff has a bunch of weird legal shit which is a big reason why they chucked it all and stick with the big popular Byrne origin outline where he doesn't become Superman until he's an adult.
Bendis is trying to thread the needle of having the Legion having A Superboy that's not Clark Kid when he was a boy.
you're correct. someone should post issues desu. or let it lie fallow a few days
His space shit has been abysmal and we know from Marvel that he can't handle time travel or large casts either so losh and him is a match made in hell.
Luis Green
The way he writes Jon is so annoying to me, other writers write him as a normal ass kid but Bendis's Jon is borderline autistic on the obnoxious side. I hate to imagine how teenage Jon will be. At least his outfit looked cool, but I guess they're already scrapping that for a new awful looking one for LoSH.
bouncy should lead the legion for this cover alone.
Aiden Perry
wait bendis is on legion? when does this come out lmao
Hudson Lee
maybe if we make an offering he can use his magic to get bendis off the legion
Caleb Williams
September
Anthony Jackson
moore retired now.
Kevin Ward
DC editorial is fucked up right now, nothing important is coming out when it should and a terrible sci fi and team book writer is in charge of the biggest sci fi super-hero team.
Austin Robinson
What's been delayed outside of the Johns books?
Grayson Walker
Heroes in crisis and Wonder Woman
Robert Foster
i thought Heroes in crisis was over
Mason White
I want to impregnate Phantom Girl.
Lucas Ward
Wonder Woman's not delayed. That OP had their dates messed up. The solicited dates match the release dates. They thought #75 was supposed to come out yesterday, but it's been planned for July 24 from the start
Zachary Martin
Thread is nearing its end thankfully. I look forward for threads for September.
Nicholas Young
were not done yet user
Thomas Powell
Shvaugn is cool, but the Science Police in general are underused. Also, they are absolutely going to bring back the idea of her being trans. But it needs to be simply that she's trans, not that she's a creepy stalker.
By the way, I love that there are at least two canon methods of genderswaping in the 31st century. The pills(which are presumably prescription), and some virus that just changes your sex somehow.
Leo Mitchell
maybe they're nanopills full of nanobots that reshape your flesh
although that gives life to the thought that furries made themselves real, which is unsettling
Robert Sanchez
>unsettling Is it? Cause I gotta imagine that in a thousand years, nobody gives even a fraction of a shit. Besides, with that level of genetic engineering technology, you could get much more creative than changing sex or becoming your own fursona. The 31st century probably has a lot more tentacles and vaginal nipples in it. Y'know all those people in crowdshots? Only about a fifth of them are vanilla aliens. The others are folks who have had work done.
Brody Cruz
>31st century could have people who transformed into anime characters and be considered honoring "vintage" work
Yeah, they kind of touch on it ever so slightly with Garth's arm but it could be a bigger thing.
On that subject, it's kinda funny that Garth has this huge, very visible arm when Lyle's arm got ripped of and regrown at one point. It's presumably a nostalgia thing, but it does mean that that's a decision he made in universe.
Aaron Hill
A cool idea would be if Lyle where to "die" but is resurrected as a digital ghost sharing Querl's dna. Kinda like they're virtual blood brothers.
Hunter Reyes
>Big tiddie Querl
Jonathan Roberts
>Jim Lee This is worse than Bendis tbqh
"altered" is a pretty broad concept. Millennium and 5YL would both fall under that umbrella, for instance.
Justin Jones
Do we know what era Lee's drawing? Nicola Scott Booster and Cheung OMAC are the only ones I can remember
Jack Rodriguez
I stand corrected
>But Jim Lee had something special to share. That he would be joining Brian Bendis on the relaunch of the Legion Of Super-Heroes comic book. Just a short story, as he had with Action Comics #1000 – but enough to kick the whole thing off…
>Lee is a big Legion fan, describing it as the equivalent at DC to Marvel’s mutants, and Didio says that the only art on the walls of Jim Lee’s office is a Legion piece by Mike Grell.
Didn't the Superboy's Legion one shot do something like that?
Luke Gray
>Didn't the Superboy's Legion one shot do something like that? Basically yeah. It's also an idea for a comic fic i'm working on. Lyle is too good of a boy to just die and be replaced by a frenchie.
Wyatt Wilson
I've always imagined him as a really skinny person overall, mostly because he forgets about trivial things like food and sleep when he's working. Even more so after Lyle dies since he was one of the few people who could pester Brainy into taking care of himself.
Levi Harris
Comics make him ripped later on cause of all the heavy lab work he does building machines.
>Dan also includes Event Leviathan in that list, and states that Grant Morrison’s Blackstar story in The Green Lantern will begin to have ramifications in other titles too. He also namedrops the Legion of Super-Heroes as a key part of this unification.
>Jim also says that he’s very happy to be joining Brian on Legion of Super-Heroes with the lead-off chapter of Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium. Jim always felt like Legion was the DC equivalent of the X-Men, filled with characters that had varying relationships, struggling with their powers, as well as lots of romance. He says those are the kind of dynamics Brian is bringing back.
Connor Kelly
I don't have it on my drive, but there's this one panel from the pre-boot where he's so unbelievable ripped.
That being said, I can see him being somewhat lean, but straight up muscular seems kinda weird.
Thomas Taylor
Hahaha oh my god i know what your talking about. That image is so 90's looking and ridiculous, Its like he's taking steroids.
Henry Gray
Jacques is better than Lyle, y’all crazy. I’m ok with Lyle losing his powers or retiring and just helping Brainy in the lab tho
Charles Smith
Nah, Jac is pretty annoying and doesn't really offer anything new.
Alexander Morgan
>The guy that has to say a french word in every sentence even when it's not needed (making him sound like his grammar is broken) to remind the reader he's french.
Camden Sullivan
Sounds like it could be cool. Unending amount of Brainiac 6 jokes though.
That Dr-fate redraw will have to postpone cause my dad randomly announced we're leaving the state tomorrow. I'm going on a plane in 24 hours away from my computer. fucking pain.
Lincoln Turner
Aw. Well, if nothing else we'll be back for more outrage in September.
Landon Walker
and waifu/husbando posting
Benjamin Stewart
It's kinda annoying that we never got the full story of how B5 managed to free himself from a Black Mercy. It may have been because the plant can't occupy 12 thought tracks at once, but there could be other, more suffering explanations too.
Michael Walker
wait there was a legion story like that? sauce?
Luke Jackson
It's somewhere in the reboot but I can't remember exactly where so I'm going to see if I can find it. Providing that I haven't just hallucinated the whole thing together.
Leo Moore
I think you hallucinated it user
Brayden Bell
ok but now that brings uo the question of what would brainys black mercy vision be, im leaning towards his mother loving him and him leading a normal life on colu
Joshua Nguyen
bump
Julian Edwards
>Maybe both his parents loving him (dad's not dead) both he and his parents are well accomplished scientists that their society highly respects.
>Maybe other legionnires can get the plant too, Imra's being in a world where her parents didn't pressured her with controlling her power and works for the Science Police on her own accords. >Garth never crashes on the planet with the lightning beasts and Mekt remains a great less insane brother >Rokk's family isn't poor and he can go on to becoming a Mango Ball champion.
Jack Diaz
I think I was misremembering the storyline in Legionnaires #15. They're trapped in their worst nightmares, but no one else sees Brainy's and he eventually just kind of turns up after defeating it on his own.
The Batch SW6 kids and then the Reboot kids messed up by understanding of LoSH for years
Henry Hill
Yeah, that's pretty much how I see it too. Close and loving family who are well respected. But deep down he would know that that's not how his life goes, and when the plant is removed he has to watch as his family falls apart in front of him.
Blake Rivera
Same. I'm not sure if I even understand SW6 now.
Jeremiah Ward
>"My Sweet muses" Brainy could screw the entire legion if he could.
Carson Powell
SW6 Brainy was extra slutty.
Kevin Flores
Man I wished LoSH fan artists where like Pokemon artists. They see a new Pokemon and they pump 4 finished pieces in a day. Do fans not like like the new designs?
Luke Taylor
hes very repressed and has a lot of love to give
Oliver Reed
Yeah, the amount of hype fanart, and the fan reception in general has been very luckwarm unlike Yea Forums.
Henry Lee
The new young justice series doesn't get a lot of fanart currently. It weirds me out cause when the show was popular back in the good old days, there would be a tone of YJ fanart on DA.
Asher Brooks
The one thing that sold me on the new she-ra into trying it out was the fanart. Fans needs to be more supportive of this legion if they don't want it to fail.
Grayson Powell
SW6 wasn't repressed though. He made out with Andromeda in front of people and flirted with a random mermaid because he thought she was hot. In front of Andromeda, who was not amused.
I don't care if this LoSH is awful or not, I won't be happy until I see Mon-El railing into Brainy as he (sorta acts as a power bottom in a half horney state.)
Aiden Diaz
Tumblr is having a weird love hate relationship with that show, something something bisexual that says their not a Muslim something something. Plus it's not a great season, kinda bad actually but I watched it as background noise when I draw so it's fine.
Dominic Clark
Yeah that is strange that outfits look so similar.
I wish Ayla's design looked this respectfully decent.
Connor Morales
Let's just hope it's not the blonde design we've seen in some of Sook's art.
Jace Lewis
Its so strange, I normally would defend sexy impractical comic outfits. But her new look just looks so fucking ridiculous. I think it's the unesscary mask and the stripper leg boots ticking me off. (And the facts she's a generic blonde.) I'll be pretty mad if it's her but isn't Garth's twin sister anymore.
Jordan Flores
>slightly mouthy/teasing and demanding bottom >has to be fucked real good to shut up
Nathan Wilson
How does one even survive having sex with a superhuman that strong?! I get it with Clark or Kara they could just use red solar rays but Lar is immune to that isn't he? Querl's is asking for too much.
Daniel Morris
It doesn't look a thing like her, and it's honestly not even that sexy. The glasses/mask is particularly unappealing and they just make her look like she's supposed to be a nerd-type character. And I'm going to be pissed if she's not Garth's sister anymore because that would just be the dumbest most unnecessary change they could come up with.
Noah Torres
Brainy should be able to take care of that. Or maybe Mon just has to keep himself in check.
John Morris
would it be worst if she wasn't his sister and they where dating eachother?
>mon has to try to control himself as he stares down at the expense of green skin beneath him >has to control his breathing at every teasing remark that leaves those lips >has to use every ounce of self control he has to not just grab him and fuck him until he can't do anything but moan and gasp for air
Chase Ortiz
I think that would finally break through to the fandom that Bendis doing legion was a huge mistake.
So yeah, Mon El got his self control covered, but what about Brainy's mental state at that point? He's going to need a hard reboot after its all done.
Kayden Bell
A shot of alien vodka and not sitting on anything too hard for a few days should be enough.
Josiah Stewart
"Brainy's so tired lately.... But not cranky. He seems pretty happy these days. Especially when you help him out with his boring lab work, Lar."
Jack Kelly
I guess it is sorta canon Querl gets turnned on by people able to rip him in half.
Brayden Miller
There's no way Mon-El is going to be able to keep it a secret for any longer amount of time. He may be somewhat dominant, but he's also almost as much of a goody two-shoes as Clark.
Zachary Sanders
Its not like they're keeping a homo secrect in the future. It's just that Querl doesn't want the others to see him as a huge slut.
Jonathan Reyes
There are basically two types of people that turn him on:
1. People who can rip him in half without any effort 2. People who can keep up with him mentally
Carson Martin
>anyone that's basically a superman clone >Nura and Lyle and even that asian chick from the new 52.
Isaac Nelson
And Rond Vidar, for a hot second.
Nathaniel Roberts
Oh god please no, I would want it to happen just for the outrage but I would hate myself for it.
Austin Ross
i mean depending on the verse querl is pretty durable himself and if all else fails hes got a forcesheild belt
Ethan Nelson
But how much loss of sensation would the forcefield cause?
we need more crazy messy hair brainy >yfw Briany could totally pull a shinji chair and everything
i need a drawing of this now
Henry Evans
>70's legion are supposed to be 17-mid 20's but the art is making them look over 40.
David Foster
If I'm right, you own me 40 keks user.
Owen Collins
i still need to write that Kryptonian v daxamite for brainys attention fic
Noah Brown
they've never really looked like teens. Reboot maybe was closest? I've always kinda headcanoned it as "they're aliens so they have different life spans/cycles" and by the time you get to the prime Levitz stuff they're adults
Is there a LOSH recommendation or reading order chart?
Benjamin Martinez
Not mine, but there's this rather brief walk through of everything.
You could start from the beginning and marathon through but if you need a little help with some starting points/suggestions (there have been a couple of LoSH torrents around but I don't have a link)
>Silver age: Adventure Comics #346 >Bronze age: LoSH v2 #283 >Five Years Later (you'll want to read it with context of the earlier stuff though): LoSH v4 #1 >90s Reboot (first proper reboot): LoSH v4 #0, Legionnaires #0, LoSH v4 #62, Legionnaires #19, LoSH v4 #63, etc (they stop crisscrossing directly after like an arc or two but they'll crossover again at times as well) >DnA run: LoSH v4 #122, Legionnaires #79, LoSH v4 #123, Legionnaires #80 then Legion Lost (you could start with Legion Lost on its own but the context helps) >Threeboot (second proper reboot): v5 #1 >Retroboot (sort of an unboot): mainly just the Johns arcs (JLA/JSA Lightning Saga, Superman and the LoSH, Final Crisis Lo3W) >Other cool things: Star Trek crossover, Morrison's Action run, Superboy's Legion Elseworld >Not exactly LoSH but you should read it: L.E.G.I.O.N. and R.E.B.E.L.S.
>5YL gets shitty when Giffen leaves. Threeboot gets shitty when Waid and Bedard leave. Retroboot get shitty/mediocre when Johns leaves.
>There's a ton of minis that aren't listed that are ok, Mon-El had an ongoing and was pretty involved in New Krypton, etc. But I assume once you get a taste for things you'll probably read them anyway. I probably forgot something obvious.
Daniel Powell
It would be a lot easier to list to by what is collected in volumes, ie Silver Age in those collections, Reboot in Legionaires Book One and Two (did they cancel the third book, by the way).
Oliver Jackson
Again, not my list, but it's geared towards torrents.
Book Three was cancelled, yeah. Alongside The Legion vol 3, Silver Age Omnibus vol 3 and the 5YL HC.
Jace Hill
i remember i had a complete legion series torrent, i need to find it again
I'm pretty sure she was meant to replace Vril seeing as she shared a lot of his traits and King (this King, not the normal one is a hack). It'd be interesting to see them meet though.
Parker Edwards
no i don't
Matthew Harris
Do you mean that you didn't read the hit series Talos that spun out of the amazing Convergence event?
Logan Hughes
no i didnt
Joseph Foster
Is Vril going to be raped by Stealth for a second time?
As much as I want to see all the Mon/Querl shipping porn, I would be more satisfied if Brainy and Kara finally tied the knot already ending this will they won't they with time paradoxess bullshit.
>implying kara's gonna join the bendis legion if we're /lucky/ well get brainy and mon but more likely it will be asexual brainy or brainy with a bendis oc
Connor Thompson
I think Lyle is more likely than Mon-El.
Thomas Adams
mayhaps
but we havent seen lyles design yet and im scared
Ryan Edwards
Yeah, I'm not looking forward to that. It feels like he may very well be racebent to make up for not being Jacques. Or just weirdly flamboyant because Bendis can't write normal gay guys.
Mason Roberts
oh god please no can we leave jaques in the past where he belongs
Ayden Bennett
Jacques wasn't racist like Tyroc was but he certainly wasn't very interesting either. I kinda want Bendis to just use one his sisters instead if he has this smart black girl fetish.
That would probably annoy me more. If he's just a replacement, he doesn't need to exist.
Alexander Cooper
Ooo, I love that artist, does she still posts LoSH on Tumblr anymore?
Josiah Morgan
Nope, she quit a couple of years ago. I found her sort of active Twitter, but she doesn't draw anything interesting anymore.
Joseph Morris
I don't think Bendis really knows about Querl/Lyle where even a thing. But Lyle or some stand in for him will most certainly be gay.
Aiden Sanders
Really?! Fucccckkk. I've been trying to emulate her work for weeks now. It's really cool.
Sebastian Brown
Yeah, her art has such a nice, soft edge to it. She also used to RP QuerlLyle with a friend of mine back in the days and they always managed to write such great stories together.
Owen Martinez
but thats the thing user, think of the delicious brainy angst >rewrtie story to where brainy gave jaq the serum for some reason >moment where brainy lashes out at jaq becuase hes not lyle >brainy at his low points clinging to him pretending he is >jaq having mixed feelings not only over the fact that one of the smartest people in the galaxy is a broken man but also how he feels like he will never live up to lyles legacy
Leo Ward
Yeah but I don't like Jacques to begin with. Tying him directly into angst about other characters I like more just highlights that he's in the way. To me he needs his own thing if he must be present.
Jeremiah Allen
Or >jac received the serum from lyle when they were still alive >tries out for the legion after lyle's death because he wants to honor him but doesn't expect to be allowed to join >most of them are reluctant but brainy nominates and pushes for him and tells them that it would honor lyle's legacy so they let him join >brainy shifts between wanting to have a meaningful relationship with jac and despising him for reminding him of lyle >jac isn't sure what to make of it but also really misses lyle
Camden Bennett
i dunno what to tell you user but im just saying if he must exist id rather he be used for angst for other characters
this guy gets it
Joseph Wilson
I really like this prompt idea. The only way to fix jac for me is to give him a huge character overhaul. I kinda want to see these ideas implemented with his sister Francine instead though.
Jackson Roberts
Didn't Jim Shooter wanted to turn Threeboot Lyle into a cute transgender girl?
Elijah Reyes
>DC Comics do love a good plastic ring giveaway to launch a book. We will remember the Blackest Night event far more form the rings than what actually happened within the pages. Well, it looks like DC Comics may be trying to replicate that ring success in November with the launch of the new Legion Of Super-Heroes comic by Brian Bendis and a short story to kick it off with Jim Lee.
That cool art op posted looks like they're all dancing to Canned Heat. youtu.be/7fFL_DayYEE
Jayden Smith
i was planning on buying the #1 only so yay for me i guess...
Jacob Gonzalez
it was art i got from a Tumblr, I'll have to post the link to it before this thread dies because the Op image is resized to fit for Yea Forums
Nathaniel Mitchell
Tumblr not giving this eye sore of a "diverse" legion any fanart is disappointing.
Jeremiah Jenkins
I just want to see the fanart of them to know that this legion could look better in a better art style and it's not all the designs fault, but the way Ryan draws them.
Mason Phillips
>a crossover between the retroboot and a universe where brainy died >they have to work together to solve something >don't know if they should be sad because they miss their own versions or happy because they can at least pretend that he's there
