I'm a bit wary myself, but I'm hype that there's actually going to be an Usagi Yojimbo cartoon.

No matter how bad it is, if it generates some new fans of Sakai's work and he's positive about it, then I'll be content. Bonus points if Spot makes an appearance.

I'm cautiously optimistic. It was obvious we won't get a show animated in Stan's style, but I'm glad it looks like it's being made in 2D rather than purely CGI. The real question is, how much are they going to kiddify it and will it be a tolerable amount.

too bad it's just going to be a kiddy cgi version, but at least it's something. the actual comic is perfect grounds for a tv series. i'm autistic so i mapped out what the first four seasons or so would look like, going up to the end of grasscutter, and besides them having to partner with tmnt for a season it comes together pretty nicely

Even in my autistic pretend version I figured the best one could hope for would be one season to use them in, at least for starters. The two franchises have always been very amicable, but it's obvious that TMNT is the much larger of the two so the Usagi franchise would readily lend their characters. Of course, if this version of Usagi is going to essentially be G-rated, they'd consider it less of a risk to ruin the image modern TMNT has built up as being child friendly. I think the biggest problem a genuine Usagi would have with getting the right is constant, albeit not often graphic, strings of death every story.

I think as a matter of principle the crossovers should be kept to a minimum, and it probably won't be coming up as a possibility until some hypothetical sequel seasons.

What else is out there that Usagi could potentially have a cross-over with? I think TMNT as a franchise is starting to show its age, but animal-people as a whole has really become a dead genre. I dont think theres anything out there right now that could mesh well with Usagi. Not to mention it would just never happen because licensing. The networks would probably only make an actual crossover if they could make a toyline, and playmates own tmnt and usagi as far as toy licensing is concerned, so it would have to crossover with something else they have licensing for. That is, unless they want to negotiate contracts. Theyd sooner just have Voltron fall through a blackhole and land in Japan, since they own the license already. At least thats my understanding of it.

I think you've put his features a lil bit higher than they are supposed to be.
He could be looking down in the promo, but I feel he's gonna have that more anime facial structure where the face is lower compared to the head.
Also I think, the head is probably going to be leaner going by that concept.

Usagi is more than a badass. He also has a happy-go-lucky side and that 2012 voice does not fit it (and the 2012 show had completely dropped it). I much preferrd the 2004 TMNT version.

Asterix is a brilliant (at least when we consider issues written before Goscinny died) adventure comedy packed to the brim with jokes based on languages, ancient history and stereotypes. As a comedy it doesn't have many tense moments, but if you are at least partially familiar with different European cultures and history of the continent, then you are in for a ride of your life. There is a reason why it's the second best selling comic in history right after One Piece - and that's despite Asterix only having 37 books published in 60 years!

- The premise is simple. Eponymous Miyamoto Usagi had became a ronin after his lord died in a battle.
- Instead of commiting honorabru sudoku, he choosed "Warrior's wanderer path". In truth he is the BIGGEST FUCKING MEDDLER in whole feudal Japan.
- Also considerable amount of recurring characters. More or less likable.
- Personally Inspector Ishida is fucking based. Followed by Gen and Sasuke.
- Also there is supposed to be the big evil called "Lord of Shadows" but he is nowhere to be fucking seen over the years this comic is published except on the very beginning.
- Anyway there is a lot of arcs to go trough. Some of them are just outstanding.
