AVENGERS: ENDGAME Rejected Ideas

>The Russos always planned for Iron Man to sacrifice himself and Captain America to retire and stay with Peggy Carter.

>Thor would originally become a bloodthirsty warrior seeking revenge against Thanos across the universe, but the Russos felt that was a retread of his previous arc and gave that storyline to Hawkeye instead.

>The Russos wanted to keep present Thanos alive throughout the movie, but realized the narrative required him to die early into the story.

>Early drafts featured the experiment that merged Banner’s mind with Hulk’s body.

>Early drafts featured Black Widow running a foundation to help children who were orphaned in the snap.

>In early drafts, Iron Man would accompany Thor and Rocket to 2013 Asgard and retrieve the Space Stone from Odin’s vault after a fight with Heimdall.

>In early drafts, Captain America, Ant-Man and Hulk would retrieve the Mind Stone from 2014 Triskelion and then steal a car to go to the Sanctum in search of the Time Stone.

>In early drafts, War Machine and Nebula would find Morag ravaged by thunderstorms and retrieve the Power Stone from a sunken temple filled with sea monsters.

>In early drafts, Black Widow and Hawkeye would be attacked by Thanos’ soldiers on Vormir and fight them off before Black Widow sacrifices herself.

>Some drafts featured a fight between past Thor and present Thor and a reunion between present Thor and Jane Foster.

>Some drafts featured Hawkeye sacrificing himself instead of Black Widow.

>Early cuts featured a longer final battle with numerous additional reunions and team-ups, including Captain America & Winter Soldier, Rocket & Groot, Ant-Man & the Wasp and Black Panther & Okoye.

>Early cuts featured an encounter between Iron Man and a teenage Morgan Stark in the Soul World.

>There were plans for Hank Pym and Janet Pym to join the battle in their old suits, but it was never filmed.

>There were plans for the Defenders to be featured during the battle, but it was never filmed.

>There were plans for a comedic interlude with an assortment of random Avengers, Guardians, Ravagers, wizards, Asgardians and Wakandans trapped in the trenches together, but it was never filmed.

>Early cuts featured Thor attempting to kiss Valkyrie before departing with the Guardians of the Galaxy and being rejected.

>Early drafts featured Captain America passing his shield to Winter Soldier, but it was ultimately decided that Falcon was a more logical successor.

>Multiple variations of Iron Man’s last words were filmed, including “Eat it, Barney!” and “Fuck you!” before “And I am Iron Man” was proposed by the movie’s editor and added in reshoots.

>Several additional scenes explaining the movie’s time travel mechanics were added in reshoots after test-audiences failed to understand it, including the direct references to BACK TO THE FUTURE, which test-audiences frequently brought up when questioning the logic of the AVENGERS: ENDGAME’s time travel.

They cut off all the good ideas, I see...
Except those
>Early cuts featured Thor attempting to kiss Valkyrie before departing with the Guardians of the Galaxy and being rejected
>There were plans for the Defenders to be featured during the battle, but it was never filmed.

>>There were plans for the Defenders to be featured during the battle, but it was never filmed.
So are the Netflix shows canon or not?

>Eat it, Barney
I'm glad they cut that out holy shit

Is there a cut where they don't use fucking time travel in an assinine way?

Bloodthirsty Thor would have been 100000x better than Bloodthirsty Hawkeye ffs. Imagine the sheer destruction and havoc a pissed off god would wreak

That might’ve actually ruined the film lol

instead we got a fat fortnite playing thor and edgelord hawkeye lmao

sometimes. but not enough to matter.

Lebowski Thor was fine and factored into the dialog/visuals a lot throughout the movie.
He was either maxing and relaxing trying to recaputure his former glory, conflicted with his past, current, future status, or acting like a bad ass with a gut like most military retirees amongst young hot shots.

Ronin factored into his reintroduction scene and was nary mentioned again. Oh you want mentions? Okay, I guess select one of the following as relevant to story progression where dark and moody allows you to add in a line of dialog effectively:

Rocket tells Hawkeye
>We're going into space, don't barf on my ship
Black Widow sacrifices herself
>Oh you're a dark "unfamilied" family guy Hawkeye, you can't die.
Hulk Popping on the Glove
>Hide behind Iron Man's shield made transparent so we can see your asymetrical haircut

Then we would have lost Fat Thor, character of the year. Almost as good as Fat Spider-Man.

hawkeye's ronin stint was the only interesting part of his character. the moment he got back his wife and kids be went back to being boring dad, why-are-you-still-here tier character. we already got boring dad antman for that. at least paul rudd is a mildly amusing comedic relief

Fat Thor was done purely to subvert the expectations of horny chris hemsworth fanboys and fangirls, his underlying storyline was as textbook fallen hero cliche as it gets

I'd rather cut out some of self-congratulatory masturbation in the second act in favour of a larger third act with more character interaction and combinations.

>Never saw Stark and Rhodes bro it up one last time
>Never saw the Guardians coming together
>Never had Hulk going against Thanos again
>Completely nerfed Strange

>There were plans for Hank Pym and Janet Pym to join the battle in their old suits, but it was never filmed.

Should've happened. Would've bee sweet to see Hank and Scott double teaming the space worms.

>Early drafts featured Captain America passing his shield to Winter Soldier, but it was ultimately decided that Falcon was a more logical successor

How the fuck...?

> Never had Hulk going against Thanos again

What would this have accomplished? If you do it in the first act, Thanos is crippled and ready to die so any victory for Bruce is worthless.

If you do it in the third act, Bruce is the one crippled so he would just get stomped even harder than before as a momentary thing during the teamup vs Thanos.

they aren't. It's always been one-way and I hope they reboot them. Iron Fist can do way better.

Doesn't need to be a 1vs1

He could easily be part of a teamup attack on Thanos, having Bruce use his brains and strength to do something of minor impact to Thanos.

You mean like have the giant gun he made as the Professor when he worked for Agamemnon?

>Early drafts featured Black Widow running a foundation to help children who were orphaned in the snap
I really like this one. They keep hinting at her past being linked to a troubled past, but the MCU doesn't build enough on it.

I'm very glad they didn't have Tony say eat it barney. That sounds more like something comic Rhodey would say.

This is one they should have kept. They needed a bit more exposure on how fucked up relationships and families would be post snap.

Hawkeye should have sacrificed himself. It would have made it poetic. He sacrifices himself so that his family can live. Plus since they were so desperate for female representation it would make the post sacrifice scenes less of a sausage fest.

Nah theyve shit on Hawkeye enough. Probably the same reason why they took out Thors failed kiss

Alright, heres a BETTER version of Endgame
>Thanos is still alive and is as powerful as ever, main avengers can't defeat him but he reveals that he can't bring anyone back because the stones are at half their original power via the snap, he just wants to be left alone but the remaining Avengers fight him and lose anyways and they retreat
>They realize they have no hope at defeating Thanos and effectively give up
>5 year gap
>Tony Stark has a daughter and everything is the same
>Antman returns and reveals the Pym effect
>They realize they need to find Banner
>Banner is in the middle of nowhere, still arguing with the Hulk
>They recruit Banner for time travel shenanigans and he agrees
>While working on time travel the Hulk gets more and more interested in what Banner is doing and finally comes around to agree to let Banner take control to kick Thanos' ass
>Finally they get Tony Stark, and it's revealed that IF they do time travel, the current 5 year gap will not technically have happened and everything up to that point will be deleted, I.E Tony's Daughter
This is the sacrifice Tony has to make to do it and hes reluctant at first
>Time Travel Shenanigans happen mostly the same
>Finally they have the stones, and current time Thanos can sense their precense
>They land on the planet Thanos is on and are ready to kick his ass as he waits with the infinity gauntlet and the stones
>Thanos makes some speech about how he sees how wrong he was, and that pests will keep coming back unless eradicated entirely
>Cue Thanos healing himself back up to full for the final boss fight
>Cue Hulk snapping everyone back, which brings all of the Avengers (minus the Wakandans) to the planet as well
>Cue "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE"
>Literal 1 vs 100 fight is happening and Thanos is STILL kicking ass
>He beats the hell out of Banner Hulk and obtains the stones, and uses both stones to power them back up to full
cont.

>Literal 100 person mad scramble to stop Thanos from snapping again at all costs as he beats the fuck out of everyone and is using the stones at full power to do wicked shit, like rewinding time in a local area only to fuck up everyone once again or using the Soul Stone to take possession of certain avengers and turn them against eachother
>Culminates with Banner letting his inner Hulk loose once again and Hulk beats the fuck out of Thanos
>Finally after a mad scramble they get the Gauntlet off but it lands far away
>Cue another scramble for Tony, Hulk, and Thanos to get the Gauntlet while everyone else plays keep away
>After keep away Tony gets the infinity gauntlet, and does the whole Snap away Thanos thing, with a middle finger after the snap.
>They time travel once again, but again, the whole 5 year gap never happened, so ONLY those who fought Thanos even remember what happened int he first place, and now the stones are at half power once again so technically the snap never happened, merging 2 timelines revealing a timeline where the world progressed as normal, leaving the old avengers to retire as they are literally the last relic of a dying era they were never truly apart of

>better
>just by line one is already shit
Have a pity (you), but it was too long and did not read

based
Reminder that the time travel shit needed to have consequences behind it or it felt lazy. The russos literally rewrote time travel to avoid all complications because they are fucking hacks who can't write a movie for shit.

I for one am glad you aren't a movie producer user.

> Defenders were almost undeniably canon

ffs. First Civil War now here. I just want Daredevil on the big screen

A lot of these cut ideas were really good. I wish the movie was longer with an intermission. I would have liked to have seen:

>Early drafts featured Black Widow running a foundation to help children who were orphaned in the snap.

>Early cuts featured a longer final battle with numerous additional reunions and team-ups, including Captain America & Winter Soldier, Rocket & Groot, Ant-Man & the Wasp and Black Panther & Okoye.

This, it would make the sacrifice feel much more meaningful and would be a perfect conclusion to his character. Killing off the Black Widow just cements her as being a character of wasted potential.

I just hope that Hank and Jan would wear more comic-accurate suits.
Also, Falcon makes sense only if Captain America HAS to be the leader of the Avengers. That's probably the only reason they actually gave it to him, which is kind dumb.

Just wait for Spider-Man 3

If you want to fix how Thanos is now just some random different Thanos just resurrect him, brainlet.

Bucky in the MCU is only known by people as an ex-Hydra assassin terrorist.

Falcon is a more acceptable option, for the in-universe public.

The MCU is canon to the Defenders but the Defenders are not canon in the MCU.

>"Eat it, Barney!" and "Fuck you!"

Attached: donte.jpg (1920x1080, 89K)

Daredevil won't show up. There's already legal complications, the shows are selling away all the costumes, and Fiege will most likely reboot them like Spiderman, X-Men and FF4.

I for one do not want Netflix Iron Fist to be canon. MCU can do a much better version.

>Early cuts featured Thor attempting to kiss Valkyrie before departing with the Guardians of the Galaxy and being rejected.
As if we needed more reasons to dislike her.

Always taking the easy way out, eh Marvel?

It's just banter.

>coordinating a 1vs100 fight coherently
>Hulk losing his shit again, walking back his entire character arc
>edgy middle finger after defeating the villain

This is actually bad fanfiction user. It reeks of "some 9 year old playing with his action figures" tier wish fulfillment.

Cringe and yikespilled.

What happened with Civ War?

I wish it had Thanos bringing the villains from alternate timelines as well. As the heroes triumphantly stand to stop him Thanos revealed he brought people who dont want the snap to be reversed to help him

Cue the Insight Carriers from a timeline where Cap failed, Crossbones and all of Hydra, AIM and Killian, Yellow jacket commanding the Ultron Legion, Sovreign, Kree, Hela and the Dark Elves with Red skull leading them arguing that even if they die they die killing their enemies in a mutual kill

Based

Source? I can't find anything for anything, especially for the Defenders.

Save that shit for Avengers/JLA in 15 years.

Attached: jla avengers fighting together.jpg (1280x972, 961K)

Most of Bucky's arc has been about him wanting to find peace and stop fighting, it would be a dick move by his friend to give him the responsibility.
Wheras Sam was Pararescue and has thrown himself into doing the right thing since meeting Steve.
However
Falcon Cap isn't going to work as a replacement, the character isn't mature or smart enough, presumably the TV show will explore this. I imagine he will never actually become 'Captain America'.

>None of these drafts included Banner turning his cousin into She-hulk.

Fucking lost cause.

Supposedly Daredevil was gonna be in it, if the Spidey negotiations didn't pan out. There were many contingency plans in there, including Agent 13 being more important.

>>In early drafts, Iron Man would accompany Thor and Rocket to 2013 Asgard and retrieve the Space Stone from Odin’s vault after a fight with Heimdall.
why would they ever fight heimdall if he can see everything?

They bragged about how infinity war was an ambitious crossover, so Endgame should have had villains brought back for the final fight

>Why would you help Thanos? He will never keep his promises.

>What choice do I have left, Avengers? Your mad quest shattered our goals. You killed us all in this timeline. Whatever we have been driven to now is your fault.

Nothing in this movie topped Thanos throwing a black hole and Dr. Strange transforming it into a swarm of butterflies.
