How would it have turned out?
According to the Sony leaks, the line-up would be Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Vulture, Mysterio, Rhino and Scorpia.
Dane DeHaan and Paul Giamatti would be back as Green Goblin and Rhino, and Sony was eyeing people like Bryan Cranston or Idris Elba for Doc Ock, Emily Blunt or Ruth Wilson for Scorpia and Colin Firth for Vulture.

Well, the first movie was bad and the second movie was worse. So it probably would've sucked ass.

The credits were teasing Kraven, but they eventually replaced him with Scorpia.
At some point they also replaced Rhino with Sandman, and even considered replacing Green Goblin with Spider-Man himself, being coerced into working with his enemies.
By that point they had already dropped the ASM-Verse like a bad habit and planned for Sinister Six to be a stealth reboot with a new actor in Andrew Garfield's place.

it'll never not be funny how hard Sony tried and is still trying to force their own MCU into the public sphere. I mean, DC tries doing it too, but Sony comes across as even more desperate cuz they're like, "hey we got Spiderman. Everyone loves Spiderman, right? So let's just shove as much Spidey and Venom down everyone's throats as fast as possible with barely any buildup whatsoever"
Like they really thought Sinister Six would work after 2 movies and only two villains from those movies would be in the team.

Gustav Fiers AKA The Gentleman. He's the one who assembles the Six in a series of tie-in books. The movie basically turned him into the Osborns' Alfred.
So, instead of each member of the Sinister Six having their own distinct origins, they would all just be some goons that Harry hired and gave fancy tech to kill Spider-Man?
What would make Harry decide to give each one a "theme?" "Oh, we'll need a bird guy, a guy with robot tentacles, and a guy who can cast illusions." You'd think he'd just give a team of people powered suits and laser guns or something.

Doctor Octopus would've been a proper character and the creator of everyone's tech, but yeah, it seems the others would've been people screwed over by Norman Osborn whom Harry assembles to get revenge on OsCorp and then Spider-Man.
I read somewhere that it was supposed to be a "redemption story" and that the six were like the Suicide Squad, criminals doing dirty jobs in exchange for reduced sentences.
I just wish fucking Pascal wasn't attached to all things Spider-Man right now. Like she's actually responsible for half the success they have right now.
