IIRC the TV rating system is self-assigned by networks and Netflix’s standards and practices are extremely loose, while there’s doubtful to be period blood on screen or anything I think there’s a lot they can get away with without being explicit enough to warrant a bump up in rating.

Anime has a decent amount if you look, but I prefer western or quasi-western. It's often much cuter, with a more simplistic 'cartoony' style. And even then, we can appreciate both.

I'm always happy when a show like this comes along, even if chances are the writing will suck and/or be weighed down by heavy handed messages that make Extreme Ghostbusters look regressive. And who knows, maybe it'll defy expectations and make the diversity push work on some level, like that show did. It's sad when a super cute character design is wasted on a mediocre show.

When it was just Reggie and Shane it was a slightly more mature guy playing along with his less mature friend, and the tensions and setup were obvious. Something about growing up would trigger Reggie, Shane would waffle trying to see both sides of things, they'd go to foreverland and fight some embodiment of the problem made by Butt Witch (the symbol of Reggie's puberty), and Reggie would come to terms with one more aspect of growing up and get a little closer to the already more mature Shane instead of drifting away.

Now she's just got a crew of equally immature gobs and it seems like the point is less "growing up is hard but necessary" and more "YEAH FUCK GROWING UP"

Maybe they’ll all get character arcs about growing up in different ways?
