Why was it cancelled?
It took 30 years for the original movie to get a sequel. Don't hold your breath.
It wasn't canceled, just not renewed. It completed its first season, but probably not as scheduled since Disney shuttled it to midnights on Mondays to kill it. Then with the terrible performance of Tomorrowland and the acquisition of Marvel and Lucasfilm, Disney no longer needs Tron for the scifi cash. Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that it happened and it was good.
It was too niche. Niche enough that the upper management didn't care, and the creators were given the freedom to do what they wanted, and made something amazing. But in the minds of the execs, it was a show with no real audience (it was airing on Disney XD at the time) and probably cost a fair bit. Shame, it might have found more success if it had aired as part of Disney+ today. Still, we got one perfect season, and not many shows can say that
They neutered the original animation (and probably the original scripts and characters)
I'm pretty sure Beck was suppose to be followed by his 2 friends so he isn't a lonely Batman/Spiderman archetype.

Thank christ, what a boring show
Tron Kinorising

The main bad guy was fucking Bishop from Aliens.
And one of his underling villains was Pee Wee Herman.
Maybe they'll do it again, and do it better

The show was better than Tron Legacy. I guess the trouble with prequels is that you already know the outcome.
>Paige never learned that Tesler was responsible for her friends' deaths, not Quorra
>Paige will never know that Quorra intentionally assaulted her so she'll gain a hatred for ISOs, but in the process stay alive in the Occupation from that hatred
>Paige will never know that Tron is truly alive and the Renegade was telling the truth all this time
>Paige had to give up her relationship with Beck because it compromised her position and let her get soft, despite nearly dying at Pavel's hands in the Colosseum
>Paige won't know that there was infighting among the rebellion and that the Renegade as she knew it wasn't responsible for the murders of innocents
>And now Paige will have to be at even more odds with beck now that Clu has demoted Tesler and instated Paige as overseer of Argon
I feel like Beck's biggest mistake was trying to recruit Paige too early. When she was willing to listen to him on top of the bridge strut, he shouldn't have asked her to join him, but come with him so he could show her the truth. Find a remote location away from the main base and show her, in person, that the real Tron is alive. Tron can explain Clu and Dyson's betrayals and what he's fighting for, and leave her with a question about if Tesler and Clu are telling her the truth about anything, or have ever. Beck can tell her to start by looking for what really happened to Keller.
Who cares? We know how everything ends
But I care. It's been over six years and I still care. Even if nothing ever happens in this franchise again I will still care.
>remake
I'm afraid they already did. But not the way we thought they would...
You're looking for a more intimate wish-fulfillment sort of writing which these status quo by the numbers action shows do not understand or want to replicate.
And it's been 6308 days since the last episode of Sheep in the Big City, what's your point?
The show's writing and art style was questionable to say the least. Felt like an inferior version of Motorcity.
The very first episodes were good, especially Identity which is very atmosphere intensive and the stakes are high. The one where Paige and Beck get stuck on the island that's being derezzed was also decent, it was the flashback episode.
Any episode with had some world design and in-world features like Beck using his engineer defrag stick were good.
Sadly the show started falling into serious cliches like "Don't kill the writer's pet" and "Don't use this drug that gives you power, it makes you mad". And my favourite Saturday Morning cartoon cliche of them all. "Dumb villain bitch punching you in the face while you're trying to save her"
As a fan of Tron: Legacy and all things /cyb/, will I enjoy this?
Do not bring that evil here.
>Why was it cancelled?
Because Tron: Legacy underperformed at the box office and Disney decided to cancel all plans for an expanded Tron franchise, which included ending the TV series they'd already begun.
Why continue with a spin-off TV series if the movie it spun off from wasn't a success?
I just imagined calart reboot with lolrandum humor
Tron Uprising Go
This show was uncanny valley.
That's a lot of summer vacations
Why were clu's soldiers such bitches in the series? They were all but invincible in Legacy
>Don't use this drug that gives you power, it makes you mad
You realize Price of Power was a giant Lord of the Rings parody, right? Especially because Elijah Wood voiced Beck.
Perhaps Sam only fought the most elite Black Guards, personally trained by Rinzler.
Glad to see this show getting some love on here, it’s been too long since the weekly threads.
You will enjoy this, yes.
Tron, Dyson and CLU were the most interesting stuff in the show.
Linear time was a mistake.
Art was good.
I like how they went the extra mile with everything. If you slow down the helmet equip animations you can see padding materialize first around the head before the harder mask takes form.
what was her problem?
She wanted to be useful and do cool things, but Beck didn't want her to die.
Beck's mistake was interviewing them all together instead of pretending the others had already been derezzed
It was a show about instigating a rebellion, can't have that.
I'm pretty sure Mara would've still wanted to fight, even if she thought her partners were dead
I wish they had made this on an Unreal Engine platform as a multi user world, with users and programmes.
Then explain Star Wars.
You'd probably want to look into Tron 2.0 then. Flynn's system here isn't meant to be anormal computing system, it was meant to be a wide-scale closed life sim that he could tinker and develop with at will. Normal programs exist to serve functions defined by Users. Tons of programs here don't do that at all, and exist for no purpose except to be developing AIs that live in this world.
I haven't posted from my Tron folder in years...1163 images that will likely never see the light of day again.
>Beck tries to fence Tron in a light wall maze
>Tron just picks up a piece of junk off the wasteland and jams it into Beck's light cycle, dematerializing it
everday i wait for tron 3
I like how visually Beck is shown to improve at fighting. In the beginning it was pure guerilla warfare, taking potshots and dashing off to escape. Much later on he's able to hold his own against Paige and show up Pavel.
Tron Uprising Derezzed

>Any episode with had some world design and in-world features like Beck using his engineer defrag stick were good.
one thing I really liked about Uprising was that it went into details about how their universe actually works which the movies really just ignore
