Lion King

Who did it better? Tezuka or Disney? I guess Disney gets points for polishing but Tezuka gets points for originality.

it's still hamlet you weeb shitter
and betrayal drama goes back into perpetuity before that

They aren't similar in any way except for the protagonists being Lions, and Tezuka has the originality of the Roman empire; magnificent and great, but ultimately just a copy of a superior version with some regional spices added. He innovated comic layout by making them more dynamic and off grid, but that's about it. I can see him being a hero to comics and animation in Japan, but he doesn't have the continuing and lasting global influence Disney originally instilled.

Tezuka stole from Disney earlier and both come from Hamlet so "he stole ___" is out of the question

>steal scene from scene from tezuka
>muh hamlet
You don't have to repeat Disney's lawyers poor excuses you corporate tool.

here's a shocking concept

nobody fucking cares

Why is it okay to admit Tezuka stole from Disney but when people talk about Lion king it's always "muh Hamlet"?

I agree, in fact nobody is gonna watch the new one in cinema either.

We can mention the fact that aspects were potentially too heavily inspired by Kimba
But these threads always start "WHY IS ANIME SO MUCH BETTER YOUR CARTOONS SUCK BECAUSE YOU STOLE ALSO OUR POWER LEVELS MEAN NO ANIME CHARACTER CAN BE BEAT" and aren't here to discuss in good faith

>Why do people state a fact?

I have no idea

Says the Tezucuck
Not even a mousketeer but that man hasn't made a single good anime or manga.

Did you actually watch them. They're different stories

Ah yes Tezuka invented cliffs, cliffhangers, stampedes, and visions of dead ancestors

where do you think the term "cliffhanger" comes from. A common cliche

Seems like you just have a prejudice that's preventing you from taking the discussion honestly.

In my opinion he definitely has
But animefags don't care about his shit, especially since it doesn't have humans. He's only used by them to shit on western animation

Yes it's (((pure coincidence)))

Adolf.

>WHY IS ANIME SO MUCH BETTER YOUR CARTOONS SUCK BECAUSE YOU STOLE ALSO OUR POW-
Nobody said that you dork, learn to read.

well, furries appreciate him about as much as anyone I've seen
for reasons that should be evident to those familiar

There's plenty of evidence that Disney was aware of Kimba when making the Lion King. Roy accidentally referred to Simba as "Kimba" in some story meetings, Matthew Broderick signed up under the impression he was doing a Kimba remake, and there is conceptual art featuring white lion cubs.

Now if you want a bullshit seething weeb argument with no real ground, look no further then the Nadia/Atlantis comparisons.

Because at the time he was alive Japan animation industry couldn't compete with USA. But his work was fundamental for everything that came after.

There's years of material to comb through to "prove" it's the same as the lion king. you'd have a much easier time doing the same with any fantasy series and any fantasy series

Sounds like you're the one who isn't willing to discuss in good faith.

SeeThere are proofs.

Tezuka, It was his work. Disney at the time were unoriginal Jewish hacks who were too lazy to come up with anything original. It was one of their first films that wasn't based on an already existing story.

By putting in "Tezuka gets points for originality" the user is stating what he intentionally wants the discussion to bend towards. He should have ended it at "Tezuka or Disney" if he wanted a good-faith discussion

What did he steal exactly?

His name is literally sIMBA
But I like Lion King more

>it's a pure coincidence a story about animated lions has all those things and depicted in nearly exactly the same way
The absolute state of disneycucks

if so, then disney just made a movie about lions instead of anything to do with kimba. if you actually watch them there's hardly a similarity.

you didn't watch it.

I did. Just because the plot is very different doesn't mean it didn't ripoff scenes and concepts from it.

>they are both retelling of hamlet
>no there's hardly a similarity
Make up your mind Disney shill

Walt Disney was already dead when they made the Lion King, but he and Tezuka influenced each other.

Tezuka saw Bambi something like 20 times and adapted the comic version in Japan. He was a Bambi fag and his inspiration for his stories with animal come from Disney himself.

The shit they have in common were just designs. Kimba has humans in it and the relationship between human and animal is what drives the main story by the latter half of the story.

This is a disney thread, man. All sins are forgotten. The only question is who did it better.

Two different stories. You are comparing three movies, one non canon series, and one canon series to a manga with a long story and several adaptations.

WAKE UP, SHEEPLE.

Why are people defensive about the originality of a 2D animation disney movie?

>Everyone keep pushing rivalry between both when Tezuka was a disney fanboy and wanted disney do a remake.

There's a difference between him wanting to work with Disney for a remake and Disney outright stealing his shit because he died you moron.

Not to mention the producer of TLK worked in Japan as an animator shortly before working on the project.

is this thread STILL going
