The series bit off more than it could chew to begin with, and it continues to bite when it can't even handle what it's trying to do in a competent fashion.

They always cheered Monty on when he said he was 3 seasons ahead before the show even started airing. Nobody was willing to tell him to hit the fucking brakes and focus.

Was a morally grey villain with a potential to be a sympathetic and great character but then got turned into an angry ex boyfriend for the purpose to make the main character and her lesbian relationship look better.
You don’t have to be a expert story writer to realize what went wrong. Sadly the RWBY fandom doesn’t realize it.
Accepting bad storytelling with the excuse of the means to the end would be the downfall of the show and fandom.
RWBY isn’t dead or alive but is a zombie that feeds on the money of the mindless

The writing might not be shit but the animation sure as hell would.
Monty dying was the best thing to happen to this show because it finally let them move on to using Maya since Monty wasn't around to autistically insist they use Poser Pro.

But monty was switching to Maya in V3...
Like he took the time to learn the program and that's why the good half of V3 was animated by him. If he was making the full switch while he alive.

the animation and dialogue are terrible of course but the pacing is the worst thing for me. takes two and a half seasons to get interesting and then just slows the fuck down again, seasons 4 and 5 are boring again. haven't watched 6 yet and don't know if i care enough to continue.
