Could have been better with different character designs. The writing and execution felt amateurish but it had a heart to it. Surprised it got a second season.

There's always been something off about this show, but for some reason I keep watching it. Part of it is that its comedy and its drama don't really fit together, either tonally or just in terms of story structure. It's like a big bag of trail mix that you have to keep shaking so they don't separate. That shaking comes in part from the showrunners' willingness to just keep doing random shit. Even though the show's overall execution tends to be mediocre at best, their doggedness in continually doing shit helps hold this mish-mash together. Time-traveling Big Cato fits that bill.
But yeah, while they do fine with the 30-minute runtime, I think giving them a longer season was a bad idea. Episode 2 was basically filler, and this show is not good enough to survive much filler.
Also, I hope we get Avocato back at some point.

So, what's changed since season 1 that you anons don't care for? The new characters? The lack of destination (season 1 had those breaking bad-esque flash forwards)? The fact that Little Cato is essentially being groomed by Space-Fujo?
