A Doctor Doom movie is confirmed to be in the works
what do you want to see in it?
A Doctor Doom movie is confirmed to be in the works
what do you want to see in it?
>A Doctor Doom movie
Oh god fucking dammit
>what
A quiet cancellation. 3 movies of failure have killed dead any optimism in me of Hollywood doing Doom justice.
what about keanu reeves playing doom
Doom bullying Carol
Why the fuck do redditors love him so much
>what do you want to see in it
hopefully Doctor Doom is in it
I'm honestly not sure how they can play this straight without turning the themes and conventions of the MCU on it's head and leaving Disney's safe zone.
I worry it's just going to be a FF movie where he's the narrator and he learns a lesson at the end after he's beaten.
He's a nice person.
Is he a good actor? Not really, every movie I've seen with him in it his acting quality is shit. But apparently being nice gets you worshipped.
it should be a political thriller
>acting quality is shit
Take that back scum, you clearly have no appreciation for the masterpiece that is Bill & Ted 2
Bogus Journey was bad
Doom acquiring magic powers and building Latveria from the ruins of Sokovia, using Ultron sentries as the basis for his Doombots. He needs to be a protagonist villain.
Doom movie with ONLY a cameo of reed richards and/or ben grim. But just the life story of Doom, from gypsy to college to leader of Latveria. The problem of all movie versions of Doctor Doom was that they always combined his origin with the fantastic 4, when in reality they hardly knew each other till after Doom got powerful. They can have stories without each other, but studios don't want to attempt Mole man.
Doom dying like every other MCU villain
You could actually introduce Doctor Doom into the MCU effectively via making Doctor Strange 3 an adaption of Triumph and Torment. Problem is, the story's too religion-oriented for Disney to want to touch.
Basically do the 2099 run, but in current time/mixed with his real origin.
I can't imagine Disney giving fans the doom they want, even if they make him the lead. Dude's pretty much a symbol of 'fuck family values, gain success'. Disney is ether going to turn him into a totally different character or make him into a bumbling idiot to make the FF look better.
a good plot
Shit character.
And no, Doom becoming omnipotent isn't good writing, no matter how much you tell yourself that it is.
I dunno, guy went to pretty crazy extremes to save his mum's soul from not-Satan.
>A Doctor Doom movie is confirmed to be in the works
you have a source for that
?
wait why did he end with a compliment?
lmao look at this pleb
>Dr. Doom movie is in the works
Sauce or you are a fag.
Why? MCU is in charge and having his own movie is far better for him to be fleshed out than being stuck in yet another Fantastic Four movie.
Something inspired by Books of Doom would be kino. Could even cameo a young Reed Richards in there too.
Stop suggesting Keanu for everything. He doesn't have the range to pull off a Moon Knight or Doctor Doom.
Kirstoff Vernard would be cool to see as well
they made a Maleficent and Cruella de Ville movies, they can make a Doctor Doom movie as well.
Have it inspired by Books of Doom where a reporter comes into Latveria (treated like North Korea) and learns of Doom's history and then gets killed at the end.
Not OP and it's not confirmed, but I'd imagine he's talking about that Doom solo movie that Fox were doing with the intention of using Mads Mikkelsen. The writer recently said that Feige asked him if he was still open to refining his script and told him to "keep your ear to the ground", I guess with the implication of potentially reworking it for the MCU. This is opposed to the Channing Tatum Gambit movie and that Shadowcat movie Bendis was writing, both of which were officially shitcanned after the Disney buyout.
>The writer recently said that Feige asked him if he was still open to refining his script and told him to "keep your ear to the ground", I guess with the implication of potentially reworking it for the MCU.
Honestly would be good and a perfect fit. Make it like and treat Doom and Latveria like North Korea.
I'd want it to be a character study following him from childhood to adulthood, showing all the events that made him the man he is. Have him start out as an optimistic young man who wants to help people and ensure peace for all mankind who eventually becomes cynical and realizes that the only way to do that is to rule with an iron fist. Climax of the film depicts the coup that gave Doom control of Latveria.
Shoot on location in a variety of countries, use CGI only for magic and Doombots and the like, make it at least as long as Infinity War, get Philip Glass to do the soundtrack, and you have the perfect Doctor Doom movie.
He doesn't work as the character, why would you suggest him outside of shitty memeing?
>They can have stories without each other, but studios don't want to attempt Mole man.
there are other FF4 villains they could use. Mad Thinker, Wizard, Enclave, Trapster, etc.
If it’s not the most hammy and campy modern cape hero movie I’ll be disappointed.
Is this still the Noah Hawley DOOM?
Because he wrote a really compelling version of LEGION.
yeah, Fiege has expressed interest in the script and there are rumors it would be tailored to fit the MCU
>If you don't like MUH DOOOOOOOOOOOM, you a pleb
Let me guess: your favorite stories of all time are Doomwar, Triumph and Torment and Secret Wars, right?
Doom divorced from the F4 and made just a general villain to the MCU
The F4 just don't translate to modern times well, and would drag Doom down who can act as standalone just fine, if he were separated from them.
>But apparently being nice gets you worshipped.
Honestly, not being a rapist gets you pretty far in Hollywood nowadays.
Triumph and Torment
I choose to believe that is true.
You believe that Doom is too good for the FF?
Can you name 3 good Doom stories?
I'm not saying Doom on his own, I'm saying as the villain to other MCU characters, and just don't bother brining the F4 to the MCU.
> DOOOOMMMMMM!
I would use the sequel to Black Panther to introduce Dr Doom.
Perfect way to play with Panther's politics thing.
Doom's origin story isn't about getting superpowers, it's about becoming emperor of Latveria. T'challa has to pick a side to support in the civil war for some reason.
Can you and can you not name 3 good Doom stories?
I wanna laugh at your definition of "good".
I want to see the original mask. There's a reason why 'new' ones don't work. The Kirby drawn mask design still has power, the pretty new ones don't.
"Doomwar" and Doom by no other than Chuck Dixon are the very best stories that Doctor Doom has to offer?
Wew.
I'm not even the user you were talking to earlier. How bored are you to be in this dead thread with me?
>negro detected
Do you have to be bored if you don't think that "Doomwar" is a masterpiece of literature?
Pray tell, what convinced you that Doomwar is a good story?
>guy gives a pic with multiple stories that answer his question
>autist focuses on 1 of those because he got btfo
No, just the wording is obvious bait. But I AM bored so that's why you even got a you. And now you will respond "Ha, you couldn't say it was good, proof that Doom sucks you fuggin redditors, wew."
Emperor Doom, Secret Wars, Iron Man Trilogy, and that Thor arc aren't anything to write home about, either.
3 of those are variations of the same "Doom steals power and conquers the world but then he loses it" plot, now that I look at it. Pretty creative, isn't it?
Why hello there
A Doom that is actually a guy in armor. I don't get why not once, but TWICE they turned him into some kind of metal mutant.
Write a better one.
Agreed. I'm not sure why they keep missing the point of Doom that much.
The first fantastic 4 movie pains me since they got the suit looking pretty damn good and great actor for it...then they shit the bed.
I like playing Heretic when reading doom. In the game there are gloves that look similar to doom's gauntlets and shoots green lightning.
Oh yea. He did have the suit for like 3 minutes before turning into some reject from a trashy sci-fi b-movie.
I guess they didn't wanted to introduce different source of powers other than the one that gave the F4 their abilities
Haven't seen F4ntastic so don't know what they did there.
Basically the same horseshit, he gets mutated into a metallic person, except he's stranded on another world or some shit while the Four gain their powers on earth and slowly buddy up. Hell, that one cartoon that was on Nick some years back as far as I recall kept him as a dude in armor, even if they implied he was affected by the cosmic storm that changed Reed and the gang.
You think it's hard to write something better than "Doomwar"? Is "Doomwar" one of the best stories you have ever read?
In that shitty movie they discover and alternate dimension. So drunkenly the guys who made the dimension coffin jumper (reed, victor, ben, some other guy) go to the dimension and left victor there, but when coming back it exploded and everyone else gets their powers plus sue in dumbest way. Years later some bullshit reason to go back to the dimension and they found victor absorbed ALL the energy of the planet and somehow his suit became fused to him to "look like" his mask.
He's just as autistic as they are.
Having a big flabby ass is bad
For them to follow in the footsteps of all the past great Doom arcs and have him become omni-potent and all powerful!
Write a better one.
All this arguing about Doomwar is a distraction from the real question: Why would someone who likes Doom, and wrote a Doom rec list have included Unthinkable?
New adamantium mine found in Sokovia/Latveria, perhaps? As the only country in the world with major deposits, I'm sure Wakanda would have an interest.
It is, unironically, the only good story in the list. It is the only one that doesn't have a "wow, Doom is actually a good guy and the actual real hero" subtext.
That doesn't sound like an altruistic motive for T'challa.
I was thinking the USA backed the president of Latveria because America bought Palladium from them- and T'challa backs Victor's uprising because there are starving kids or something.
>what do you want to see in it?
doesn't matter, it's not for fans.
You know I thought Cole played a pretty good Doctor Doom.
The writing wasn't his fault, but he played the villain role pretty well.
Based
I think I've read that the movie was about Books of Doom
based
Squirrel Girl giving him a thrashing
Yeah no shit idiot. That's the same lame excuse Supes-haters use to justify their shit non-opinions.
Doom losing to Doctor Strange kicked ass. Doom regularly losing to the F4, but saving Reed Richard's daughter kicks ass.
The F4.
>A Doom movie
An MCU Doom film wouldn't work because he would be a hot guy not wearing a helmet for 80% of the movie.
It's Tommy. Is this thread filled with summerfags or something?
just have him played by a no name actor and voiced over by Mads Mikkelsen the same way as Darth Vader.
Hey there Tommy wondered when you might appear in this thread.
