You're going to get Sam Alexander in the MCU
Novafags BTFO
Jeph Loeb isn't running the MCU. So no.
good
fuck white people
we need some Latino representation in the MCU
>CB: Finally, my annual Nova question.
>Feige: Nova!
>CB: Where are Richard Rider and Sam Alexander? Are they in the MCU somewhere? Are they coming? What's going on?
>Feige: It's probably the same answer I give you all the time. We love Nova. It'd be cool.
>CB: You told me last year that there was a board of characters with immediate potential, and Nova's on that board.
>Feige: That's still true. That's still true. What is your favorite thing about Nova?
>CB: I mean honestly, his costume. But I love Sam Alexander's story, because it feels very similar to the Peter Parker you've put on screen.
>Feige: True. Yeah, yeah, true.
>CB: I would love to see a mashup, kind of what you did with Guardians, where Sam Alexander's looking for his dad, and his dad is Richard Rider.
>Feige: Right. Right.
I like both because i'm not autistic.
I'm sure all ten of them are devastated.
He has fans?
Shame
Nice source you got there
You're going to get America Chavez.
comicbook.com
there's an audio version too
Feige was just humoring this onions so he could get through the interview.
>>CB: I would love to see a mashup, kind of what you did with Guardians, where Sam Alexander's looking for his dad, and his dad is Richard Rider.
>>Feige: Right. Right.
You can tell this guy has no clue what he's talking about and Fiege just wants to get it over with already.
Kind of embarrassing how the CB interviewer is just splurging his shitty fan theories and Feige just going "Yeah, yeah ok" also how is Sam's story like Peter Parker's? Lol these fuckers don't even read the source material.
Good. Hopefully he becomes the norm and we see the end of the "Dick rider" jokes.
If there’s one thing the MCU is good at, is replacing the reputation of characters
The Dick Rider jokes have been there since Nova vol.3.
It's honestly the same reaction Feige had when he was asked about the Inhumans show and if it was still going to have an MCU movie. He just went "right, right" and started laughing.
He was clearly being nice and agreeing to whatever the interviewer said. This isnt proof of anything. Are you literally retarded?
This, also OP is that one user that is butthurt about Rich for some reason. Imagine being this obsessed about not wanting to see a charcater in the MCU. Lol.
While that's true, they basically saved Iron man as a comic book character with those movies.
I think if there's any character the MCU could save from the shitty hand they've been dealt, it's probably Rich. The dude desperately needs some attention outside of the comics.
But I don't like or care about the MCU
True but that really only helps comics, the movies will just turn him into something more mainstream. Look at Star Lord and Thor.
Why can't they just make it Richard for the movie and Sam for the cartoon tie-in for the kids who want more Nova?
I want her in the MCU, actually. The problem is that you idiots only know her for the solo and not the other appearances she's had where she's well written.
>"But those are shit too!"
Alright, sure, okay.
This interviewer is dumb and clearly didn't even read Loveness' Nova, in which both characters had plenty of room to shine.
He keeps posting the same shit over and over, as if
1) Rich won't get precedence anyway and
2) people didn't like Sam, regardless
And if op wanted a Nova thread then he should've just gone for it.
Sam already had appearances in USM and the GotG cartoon. Everyone hated him.
I know he had some attention in the games, didn't people make a stink when they had Nova in that Marvel Diablo-clone game because they wanted Rich and the whole reason Rich was there was back of that? Also vidyafags know him because of MvC3 and Troy Baker plus some of the memes at the time that came out of that and DJ Dicks.
I don't even know why a lot of people want Rich in a dad role for Sam. I know Jesse Alexander sucks and is pretty lame (and named after an equally shitty producer and director) but Rich and Sam never even had that type of relationship, if anything they're like brothers. Besides Rich has always been a young character and he's also way too young to be Sam's dad.
I'm almost positive this is the only guy who actually thinks making Rich his dad is a good idea.
Even when we have a regular Nova thread which is at least once or twice a month at the most he comes in and starts screeching and sperging about the character and telling people to stop liking the character.
Feige read Annihilation and Rich was already in a GotG draft and brainstormed into a possible character for Endgame.
Oh I know he's the one that wants that to happen in the MCU but I've seen other people say that they have a father and son relationship in the comics. I never even got that either, Rich never acts like a dad type.
>Everyone hated him.
If this were remotely true, he wouldn't be the most known Nova around people who don't read comics, which unfortunately it's most people who have been watching cartoons and played mobile games (Rich isn't in Puzzle Quest or Future Fight).
>I don't even know why a lot of people want Rich in a dad role for Sam
Because of what I just said, most people don't even read the comics and assume Rich is simply an "older Nova", who can simply be replaced as the missing dad while ignoring he has a long history of his own.
I have never met a single person who has anything nice to say about Sam in USM. He was always agreed to be the worst part of that shit show. Also, Rich has 0 rep outside of the comics and Sam got a huge push between 2012-2013. It's no fucking wonder why more people know him.
Might have been because of that retarded Original Sin tie-in where he went on about having always wanted to be a dad.
>I have never met a single person who has anything nice to say about Sam in USM. He was always agreed to be the worst part of that shit show.
Because he was written as a fucking out of character asshole with none of his defining characteristics from the comics. USM was terrible all around, but they royally screwed SAm's chances of getting loved by a wider audience.
I have no issues. Sam is a lovely kid. I would love if they also have Rick, though. Both work wonderfully as a team.
>Rick
Fuck, I mean Rich.
Whatever.
Storytiming the last Nova book they had would be nice, btw. That book was very enjoyable.
He came off as a self absorbed asshole in the comics as well.
I think if anything crippled Sam's chance to get wider appeal, it was Jeph pissing off Fiege.
>Sam got a huge push between 2012-2013. It's no fucking wonder why more people know him.
Going by what Abnett, Rosemann, even Loeb himself have said in interviews Rich was going to get the push the same way the Guardians were but Loeb got the idea to do Sam and instead. I know Rosemann mentioned Rich was planned for USM, even the younger Rich in Marvel Adventures might have been a test run for that.
He was a self absorbed asshole until Duggan got a hold of him and that's honestly what redeemed that character in my eyes. Then everyone else started making him more chill.
The one story I remember was after Thor invited him to be in the Avengers (which was really fucking right away and after a second of meeting him) and then Sam scoffing at Vance and Robbie after they asked him to be in the New Warriors. Sam's mom doesn't let him join the Avengers, Sam complains to the Watcher about it and the Watcher shows him moments with Rich being heroic and then one moment in which he's younger and nervous, and in the back while all the other heroes are ignoring him and facing the bad guy. The idea was that Rich worked his way to become a badass and Sam had to do it too. IMO it was the one thing I liked from Well's Nova run (and Kaldera but that might have been Duggan, I can't remember).
I just started reading Sam’s Comic and I think the way they did his character was pretty good, instead of having a pure heart and having strong beliefs of justice like every other hero out there, he was just a kid that wanted to good, but was still a prick like a regular 15 year old. It got kind of annoying when he barely changes and grows from that point though.
If this book was published just a year after, it would have got a lot of more issues. Damn shame, it was pretty good.
He really only started to change after fighting kluh which led into the carnage fight that I personally really liked a lot.
>instead of having a pure heart and having strong beliefs of justice like every other hero out there
Besides Captain America no other Marvel hero is really like that.
Sam was a self entitled little jerk and frankly in a way so was Peter Parker but the latter had a good reason for it not to mention a lot of awful shit kept happening to him to make him more humble. Sam got a lot of cheers and even an invitation to join the Avengers and a lot of good shit that made him more cocky until Eva told him he couldn't join and later Duggan came in and started applying the Spider-Man formula on him which is what made the character likeable. His fight against Kluh and the shit he goes through under Duggan's run that really made him a likeable character.
>Storytiming the last Nova book they had would be nice, btw. That book was very enjoyable.
If more people want me to, I'll do it. I haven't read it in a while and it'd be a nice refresher.
Do it.
>Sam was a self entitled little jerk and frankly in a way so was Peter Parker
And so was Rich.
I think they should start with Rich and then add Sam into it. That way you have both. I mean it's going to be awhile until Miles and Kamala join the MCU so might as well go that route.
Alright! Let's do it in here, let's not fill the catalog with Nova threads (and we already have an audience here).
Gather around for the last (for now) Nova story...
DUMMY THICC
Just a note: Rich's mom showed up in the latest Wolverine: Infinity Watch miniseries by Duggan, to give Robbie a well needed pep-talk (for all the good it did).
Sam literally couldn't be bothered to remember Rich's full name.
Thank you, user. I hope more people enjoy this book, it's really charming. Even cozy, but filled with badassery.
Fighting space bedbugs with meteorites.
The Thing has his own cereal, nice.
Now tell me if this scene wouldn't be great for a movie.
No problem!
This was when the Champions were still fresh, and him, Kamala and Miles were considered the founding members.
Is this the one where he has the cartoony fantasies?
Even freakin' Sauron wants in with Sam's crush.
Also, serious Peanuts vibes with the second panel.
This book made me wish for a better writing for Blue Beetle with the two BBs. Could have worked very similarly. But no such luck.
>flies in, lands behind basically nothing, nobody sees him
>takes off helmet and space-suit disappears, nobody sees him
>oh noes! No pants!? Everyone sees him and is all around him immediatley
Okay.
Ah-yup.
Yes.
Nah, even if Rich started like a Peter Parker expy he was the opposite of self-entitled. He had too much self-loathing and a self-esteem that was in the negative numbers for him to ever be like that. He even questioned why he got his powers and couldn't even place himself with the A-listers. Also Peter fought against his bully, Rich mostly took it because he also believed that he was trash (and the time he fought back Rich's dad got mad at him for getting into a fight).
He started getting cocky in New Warriors but after being in a space war and coming home with no powers and finding out everyone moved on without you, plus him being a dropout with no future, it made him fall into a big depression and got him jaded. But still even with that he was never self entitled. Not even in Annihilation, DnA's Nova, or the comic that is being storytimed right now was he self entitled.
>Abnett: With Nova, what I wanted to do was to make part of his deficit as a character the fact that he was aware of his own lameness. The fact people didn’t take him seriously. In terms of his power levels, he should be a first division hero in the Marvel universe. But he was clearly never really regarded as such. That’s not just an audience perception. That’s an in-universe perception, where the Avengers and everyone else were like “Oh, it’s Nova. He can come along I guess.”
>Lanning: That whole idea (was) he had to be at his absolute lowest low in order for him to find out that he was a hero again.
>Abnett: It was fulfilling (the) potential of his character because he had an important job to do. It was really about him embracing his own failures and his lack of fully achieving his potential that made him a really interesting character to write.
Damn, all that Champions shade, I wonder what he thinks of the team now that it's gone international, huh.
Oh no!
Rich a cute.
>Ralph Rider gets murdered by a super villain
>Rich disappears and is presumed dead when Sam gives Gloria and Charles his helmet.
>Robbie disappears
>Charles dies
Up to that point it must have been pretty shitty for Gloria, Rich came back and Robbie is a supervillain so it kind of is but she has her kids back I guess.
A serious case of Cancerverse!
The effect is pretty cool.
Just noticed in the credits: the colorist for this series is Ian Herring (who also did Ms. Marvel), and it's why the series has this distinctive look aside from Pérez' pencils. In Marvel Two-In-One, the coloring looked rougher and unpolished and it made Perez look bad.
I guess this is why that interviewer wanted Rich to be Sam's dad, but it simply doesn't work, nope.
To quote Cammie when she first saw him in his Nova prime uniform "SWEET GLUTES!"
Also, he did know his name after all.
And now, one of the most famous pages of this series...
>Your fans are... intense
Yeah, no shit.
>"We kind of had... A pretty big difference in opinion."
>"Another one?"
This is such a great reaction.
>"Was I too mean about the New Warriors?"
If Rich's been brushed aside, imagine what's happened to them, Kamala.
He works way better as a big brother, honestly.
>"He's like Dad, real Dad"
Don't give theorists any ideas, Sam. Jeez.
Yeah, exactly.
>the bike has a Nova headpiece
It really doesn't work because with a father and son dynamic there is a sense of authority with the dad and a certain responsibility that comes with it. Rich and Sam in this comic have more of a sibling type of relationship since they both tease each other and are more in an equal ground. Rich doesn't even really try to mentor him unless Sam turns to him for help, really.
Also the one thing Sam really doesn't have is a big brother so Rich is perfect for that role. It also kind of makes me want to see Sam have some panel time with Robbie.
I like how Rich is being chill and understanding while snickering at Sam going through puberty.
This one seemed a bit off since Rich was a teen hero himself, this really shouldn't phase him.
Rich really is his own worst enemy and Sam is adorable. Wholesome scene.
Reminder that Cates tried to retcon Knowhere as the head of a Celestial that didn't look AT ALL like this one, just to have his Knull backstory tied to everything.
Best dog!
Some great alien designs... Dude in the background has a serious case of Centaurian mohawk.
This was the first time someone really tried to define Sam's heritage other than "He's Latino" and made him Mexican-American. George Perez is Chicano so it's probably why it happened.
The one thing that was off was Eva suddenly speaking Spanglish when she never did that before until Sean Ryan had her break into Spanish to show us the she was pissed only for Sam to tell her he didn't know what she was saying. That was a good scene.
>"Cool, I'll tell Thanos"
I live for this banter.
Also another great, memorable page.
Hopefully Cates' shit gets retconned and forgotten quickly. His GotG isn't doing so hot so he might be off soon. Also Marvel is giving Ewing more leeway since he's the head of Marvel #1000 and Immortal Hulk is doing well.
Cosmo confirmed for a Richfag.
Came for the bounty, yes?
Sam always heard about the Annihilus thing and just brushed it off but when he got to see Rich rip the cancerverse monster from his own guts he thought it was pretty metal
It always bothered me that we never found out who hired him and Titus.
You're right, this is one of these loose threads that were never solved, I'm only just remembering.
Besides, it kind of works with Sam having a little sister who gets in the middle continuously.
This plan was definitely too elaborate to be just a random kidnap job. Too bad we'll never find out (unless somebody like Ewing picks up that thread ).
Not that peres. Ramón Perez. He's canadian, I think, but his family is from Spain? IIRC. Same diference, in any case.
Advanced stalling methods.
Fuck I meant Ramon, lol. I don't know why I said George. Also his family is from Spain? I'm surprised since he knows some Chicano slang (which I am not familiar with since I am not in the US).
If I have to take a stab the person who hired them was Garthan Saal since he also is a dangling threat that DnA left.
Ewing should definitely get on that shit.
"Omae wa shindeiru."
I think, I'm not sure, to be honest, but I think I recall hearing about it in some old podcast. Not much of a difference for the sake of your reasoning, in any case, really.
Too bad Rich couldn't harness the body horror within him for good and use it outside this series. It'd have been a fucked up new power.
Can space dogs drink vodka?
Sam will be a household name when they introduce him and Kamala into the MCU and they hook up and kiss with tongue.
You can see a bit of Gamora's classic outfit in that polaroid.
Next up: Double date!
god this was such a great book. why did it have to die?
Saal would be perfect since he's the original Supernova, has a black helmet, you can make the black Novas his own Black ops. He also has a lot of bagagge with Rich Rider from the New Warriors days. Plus he entrusted Rich with the safety of Xandar before he died and gave the Nova force back to Rich.
He would also have an axe to grind with Rich.
This was a very oh shit moment.
I think if this comic had continue so would have the body horror for awhile at least going from what the writer said he had planned. the solicit for issue no. 7 originally said that Rich was going to find out something about his powers and that Carol's Alpha Flight was going to pay him a visit. Also Sam was still going to be upset with him and the next arc was going to be about people questioning if Sam was worthy of being a Nova and possibly Rich still handling his cancer powers and being mindful of his condition (which makes perfect sense as to why he never really approached any of his old friends when he came back).
Also we would have gotten New Warriors in this, it really sucks that it got cancelled.
I know, it was an injustice.
People didn't buy it, unfortunately. Hate and prejudices do that.
Why is Sam so scared?
He's probably heard of Gamora's ravenous sex appetite.
Gamora in her Mass Effect suit. Shame her cape doesn't have the cosmic background of her previous outfit, however.
I know some Richfags who were buying it (including myself) but the cosmicbooknews guy was spewing hate on it and other Richfags were either too jaded to get it or were unaware this book was even a thing. The latter being the biggest surprise to me that after this book's cancellation a lot of people came out saying "This is good! How come I didn't know about this when it came out?" and "Richard Rider is back? since when?"
Nope, bad idea!
>Gamora finds out Rich is alive
>Proceeds to not tell Star-Lord or anyone
I know it's because editorial and other writers never gave a shit but man it was pretty awful of her. Also Rich never even bothered either but at least he has the "I went through hell and needed some time off" as an excuse.
Still pretty amusing that Duggan chose to acknowledge this fact. Also poor Rich reunites with Gamora and she whacks him, and his reunion with peter is also him whacking Rich. maybe he was better off staying away.
Best page coming right up...
>You suck... So hard.
>"This is good! How come I didn't know about this when it came out?"
Every damn time. Reminds me of people who didn't know Avril Kincaid died in Secret Empire because they didn't bother with it, then were surprised to know Wendell was still alive through all of it AND that she was came back in the recent GOTG Annual.
The treatment this book got from Richfags even on Yea Forums made me forever hate Richfags.
>the smiling mom in the car
It's the little things.
>Still pretty amusing that Duggan chose to acknowledge this fact
It became a plot point about trust issues and whatnot, so it's good that it was acknowledged.
Those New Warriors pictures are cute. When will they have a reunion? Especially since Nita is bakc now.
Holy shit that's Doctor Sun's helmet and I just noticed it now that I read Rich's older comics.
He was a Defender for like what? an issue? But it counts.
>Champion of Xandar
A very shortlived group but it's so depressing once you know Rich is the only surviving member.
>Thanos is being held on Earth
This was in Pegasus Labs, right around the time of Civil War II, and before he escaped in Ultimates and got killed there. Gamora never got a chance to fulfill her promise...
This is a real mall, but I forgot which.
You'd think these thugs would know not to mess with a caped green lady, but alas...
Is it just me or did Perez make Sam's mum chubbier?
Some of them are obnoxious and a lot of them aren't Richfags but people who just meme and didn't even bother to read this comic. The obnoxious ones hang in the CBN forums now since no one else likes them. Probably lurk around here too. It's also in part why a section of that already small fandom broke off and made a group in facebook since Mcgloin became too much and started banning the Richfags who liked Sam. Him and TimeLord and that one other dude are like pariahs to most Richfags.
Also I saw nothing but praise here on Yea Forums when it came to this comic and the occasional troll.
And this is why Gamora was yearning for a piece of Rich in Infinity Countdown...
Too bad this was brushed aside by the forced Star-Lord/Gamora pairing.
Rich/Gamora OTP
It's his style of art, also why did they make him dark skin and gave him black eyes? He ha spale skin and blue eyes.
Not sure, but she has some serious "mom hips" in here.
>un demónico, un demónico
Ah yes, broken Spanish...
I don't mind them making him a bit more Latino in appearance, makes him a bit more distinctive in his civilian life. I do hope they remember he's half-white American though.
And now... Shit goes sideways.
In this series he still can't speak Spanish, so at least it's acknowledged he's not full blown Latino.
Yeah and I think for Rich's sake it's best if he just goes with someone else or just now steers clear away from that shitshow.
But frankly he was pretty over Gamora by Thanos Imperative, this was just picking up from the Bendis stuff.
>a bit more Latino in appearance
You know Latino is not a race right?
but you knew what I mean, didn't you?
you pedantic pendejo.
He's back to having white skin and blue eyes in Champions.
To the average American a Latino is a brown mestizo and they see them as a race.
Sam is a very anglicized latino it's partially why I found him interesting in a way since I met Latinos like that (white looking and don't know a lick of Spanish) and it would be interesting to see Sam trying to learn Spanish and get in touch with being Mexican which has always been a part of his character that's never been that relevant to him.
Yeah you want to tokenize him and that ain't better either.
>you pendantic pendejo
Oh he knows Spanglish, sooo Latino.
Can't hide it anymore...
The final boss lies ahead!
Here comes a bit of a retcon...
Dun dun dun! Cancerverse Worldmind!
One of the best covers of the series.
From this point forward, everything's gonna be full of eldritch abominations. Strap in!
>"That's not how it happened!"
Might have been part of the point.
In a series of good covers. I hate that it got cancelled. Damn this gay earth.
And yes... Considering the editor's note, it's going by the Bendis retcon and not the actual Thanos Imperative mini, which is why the details are wrong since he never bothered to read it (or any previous GOTG series for that matter)
No matter... It's still a quality mini.
I really like this page. The texture of the brush strokes are a nice detail.
Also another great page. I remember when Pérez posted the inked version on Instagram.
Rad art.
This.
Roasted abomination tentacle must be a delicacy in some areas of the galaxy.
Now imagine if these guys crossed into 616. I always dug their satanic vibe.
So that's where Rich got inter dimensional Cthulhu parasites
The universe where Nothing Dies™.
The Starro Univer-- wait no, wrong company.
I like the HAL voice Loveness gives World Mind
Sam to the rescue!
Oh sh--
Last issue of the series... Nova vs. Nova!
In a just world this book would have cracked 30 issues
>Am I Han Solo right now?
I guarantee you there is no reality where Sam can be in a book that lasts more than 12 issues now.
>CRAP. I'm not Han Solo.
Dang
Get ready for tentacle rape, boy.
That's it, Rich... Pull it...
Here's the moneyshot!
talk about deep throating....
two novas against an entire malevolent universe?
the cancerverse never stood a chance.
>I think everyone wants to punch Captain America at some point
Oh Rich, you're so right sometimes.
>"Hang on, kid!"
Funny, this is a Han Solo reference, which goes to show Rich was always the "Solo" of this series, not Sam.
Back to normal, for now.
Good story time!
I could dig an MCU "resurrection from the dead plotline" in the established GoG setting. I don't think it's going to happen any time soon as Feige has allowed Gunn and Perlman to write and shape that leg of the property, and they seem to be intent on exploring Warlock. But I could see Quill collecting "Space Stuff" from the Thanos obliterated ruins of the Nova Corp.
Here's your New Warriors reunion, bro.
super heroes that don't have comfy down to earth civilian lives aren't as interesting imo
—The end.
As for the final letters page...
>... I know that you Mighty Marvelites love Sam and Rich, too (well, some of you only like one of 'em)
Fuck you, CBN.
Anyway, I hope this storytime gave some of you the opportunity to get acquainted not only with Rich but also Sam, and see how they can definitely work together.
If this were ten years ago, she'd be with the New Warriors.
they're a great duo and I get salty when Richfags shit on Sam particularly after this book.
Thanks for the storytime, user. I remember liking this when it initially released, and being puzzled as to why people on Yea Forums were dogging on it. Any other rec's ? (with either Rick/Sam, this is the only Nova run I've read)
Side note: What's the history between Sam and the yandere space chick in Champions?
>What's the history between Sam and the yandere space chick in Champions?
She was introduced in 2013 Nova series, as part of its Hickman's "Infinity" arc. She was sent to Earth specifically to track Sam, while Thanos' forces invaded the planet.
I think there's plenty of images left, so I could dump that story? It's only two issues, so may as well.
Go for it.
Alright, here we go.
Here you can see Sam fighting against the Tiger bounty hunter.
The Duggan and the Zeb Wells Nova runs are worth reading. Avoid Bendis.
For Rich I only really know the DnA run but I liked it a lot.
Uatu was still alive here, I forgot.
The Wolfman classic series was really good also, though very different in tone to what most are used to since DnA.
What a goof...
Annihilation through Thanos Imperative is god tier. I think black order is the best thing Rich has been in since he came back IMO. Word on the street is Ewing may be doing something with Rich soon, so check out the GotG annual that came out last month, which is only 10 pages. Hopefully we learn more at SDCC.
Edgy OC girl showed up for 2 issues six years ago as part of event tie-in where she told Sam to fight her without his helmet, which he responded to by putting it on and beating her almost instantly
Oh Marvel citizens, never change.
You may wonder, "how did she crawl up inside that space hogbeast?" Well, you see...
>sleep in their wombs
That's right, folks. She went up the beast's vagina.
Speedball and Justice look much younger in here.
... Yep, he still has his pain-fueled powers here. I'd hate it if he wasn't also a goofball.
And Kaldera makes landfall! And she's up to no good.
As you can see, Novas enjoy being entangled.
She's slashfic fuel ever since she was conceived.
Back then she proposed him a mano-a-mano fight, which might have seem a good idea at the time, but...
Yeah, Robbie definitely looks younger than he should be, funny that.
Sam's mum was a super milf
Sam the Cheater! But it's for a good cause, I swear.
I'm enjoying this but Zeb Wells isn't half the writer Loveness is. This dialogue is so stilted.
Oh fuck me dead that hot.
Teleport!
Today's lesson: Never mess with a hero's mom.
>Tfw Richard gets added to the MCU, but he gets the not-Ganke treatment and now Richard = Sam.
Definitely, Nova's series always bring the comfy, no matter what.
And this was the story of how she ended in that torture pod referenced in Champions, before her inevitable escape.
The end.
That would have been an actually good reveal:
Sanctuary is blown to hell during the battle, and everybody screams "woo, Captain marvel!", Just to show her on the ground
Neat, now I have context when I post pics of her.
>Sanctuary is blown to hell during the battle, and everybody screams "woo, Captain marvel!", Just to show her on the ground
LMAO
Fuck, that would've been perfect.
>There's no time!
Smooth Rider, smooth.
There's nothing to lift from Sam other than a shitty dad plot line that never ends and being a teenager
S'funny but even though the Avengers were kind of shit to the New Warriors and they also caused the Civil War, Cap was the one character that eventually recognized Rich's potential.
As a matter in fact Steve is the guy who gave Sam and Rich their Avengers cards. Even if Rich didn't last long as a Secret Avenger because of Thanos Imperative. Steve was even worried and felt guilt about the whole Serpent Crown thing because he had sent Rich on a mission and Rich didn't come back.
CBN doesn't represent all Richfags they're just the loud autistic ones and the equal to what HEAT was to Hal Jordan. There's an entire facebook group full of Richfags that hate on you if you call Sam NINO and they formed in the first place because Mcgloin and his ilk where baning people for liking Sam.
>Both Richfags and Samfags hate it, McGloin goes turbo autism, tumblr screams racism. >Meanwhile casuals and normies love it, say it's faithful to the source material and shit on everyone who disagrees.
I can also see Feige doing this just to get Nova, hit diversity points, and not pay Loeb a dime.
He was still a jerk in this, thank god for Kluh and brain damage.
I just finished reading PAD's Scarlet Spider and judging by what Death told Ben about his soul being affected by him dying and being brought back multiple times in a short period, I'm kind of concerned about Rich.
Don't be. This was 2 years ago and hasn't been brought up since.
>Meanwhile casuals and normies love it, say it's faithful to the source material and shit on everyone who disagrees.
Worse, they'll say "oh it's a different universe, so it's OK!" even though just following the source material would be less complicated and everyone would be happy. And this is from folks who have been claiming vehemently that Spider-Man FFH is "the best Spider-Man movie *ever*". A movie that was good, sure, but it didn't feel much like Spider-Man.
And mind you I don't care about "race swaps" or whatever, but pointless changes to accommodate an alternative take that doesn't work always grinds my gears.
Yeah I don't mind the race swap that much if it's still Rich, but he has a clear and defined personality.
Unless Ewing thinks there's a story there no onr else is going to bring it up. But it would be fun since Rich is one of the few people alive who has seen Death which is suppose to be a rare thing.
Then again seeing how diluted the Marvel universe is and how no one gives a fuck I wouldn't be surprised if that's a rare thing anymore.
Is it weird where I liked him better as penance?
I don't think even Ewing would ever try to tackle the wild inconsistencies between Thanos Imperative, Original Sin, and Vol 7.
There's probably no way to give a satisfying answer to it, and it's better to forget all about it at this point.
That was really nice I’m sorry I didn’t pick it up when it came out. Why is speedball so young here shouldn’t he be his dads age? And where’s rich during infinity?
>CB: Mr. Feige, Mr. Feige. is MUH HEADCANON happening?
>Feige: yeah whatever...
>sourcemyass.com
Sam is best Nova anyways
>Why is speedball so young here shouldn’t he be his dads age?
Likely artist mistake, for some reason Robbie looks even younger than Sam when he should be at least as tall as Vance.
>And where’s rich during infinity?
Dead since "Thanos Imperative" until Nova (2017).
How closely connected are the earlier Nova stories to now? Only early nova I ever read was a crossover with spiderman I’ve read annihilation but that’s about it. When does he start getting really cosmic?
>How closely connected are the earlier Nova stories to now?
Not connected at all
>When does he start getting really cosmic?
He goes full time early on, but decides to go back to earth not much later. Then he goes full cosmic again in Annihilation
Is it worth reading through from the beginning or should I just pick up annihilation again and go from there?
I started with Annihilation and then went back to the beginning.
Alright I’ve got something to check out after I finish up she hulk

Thanks!

Novafags are the best.
Except for obnoxious Richfags, fuck those guys. Sam is a good boy and Rich is a great big bro.
>I mean it's going to be awhile until Miles and Kamala join the MCU so might as well go that route
Miles is already in the MCU. They just called him Peter and made him white.
I already found one obnoxious Samfag but thankfully it's just one and they stay in their corner.
You don't know Ewing then, he would do it. As for pleasing people I doubt it. Some Richfags are hard to appease no matter what.
This, and add the obnoxious Samfags as well but thankfully they aren't as loud as Mcgloin and his ilk but if Rich ever makes it to the MCU you bet they'll make noise.
Thanks for the input Jeph.
Why would Speedball be "his dad's age?" whose dad are you talking about? But yeah Robbie looks unusually young here, he should be like 19 or 21.
Annihilation and after although he has some cosmic adventures with the New Warriors and in Noval vol. 2 but he is mostly on Earth then.
His early stuff also has him being on earth and the end is so weird since it ends on a cliffhanger and him going to a space war rhat gets concluded in Fantastic Four and am issue of ROM Spaceknight.
God Thanos sounds so weird here but still better than how Cates writes him.
