Easily one of the better villains in all capefilms
Holy shit Mysterio was a SLICK motherfucker
terrible finale, he was a pushover
I mean what could you expect, he wasn't much different in the 90's cartoons either, as I recall
You want Spiderman up against an enemy in fisticuffs or something, hope for Kraven next time
I mean, why couldn't they saved another cool mind-rape sequence for the climax?
Instead we get drones shooting in a narrow hallway.
How exciting.
>he was a pushover
That's Mysterio, a retard in a mocap suit with delusions of grandeur
I was tickled pink to see them using a mocap suit as his practical outfit and that he still had the bowl head as a practical hud.
It was fine. Youre whining over nothing
Every new villian is the best villian ever acording to Yea Forums, but by this time next year no one will sing praise of this shit.
What am I looking at here?
Vulture > Doctor Octopus > Dafoe Norman > Mysterio > Sandman > Franco Harry > Grace Venom > Lizard > Dehaan Harry > Electro
The "Shocker" in Homecoming wasn't the Shocker at all and the Rhino was a cameo at best, therefore they don't apply.
>tfw Vaaspion never
He was following Pete from the beginning.
Oh, I heard he died and figured this was like the final scene and it was a blink and you miss it scene showing he's still alive.
But that's exactly what Mysterio is once you get past his tricks.
I agree. I was hoping for another one of those sequences cause that was the highlight of the film for me.
I just hope that he does one of those while the Sinister Six attack Pete.
I was hoping that was the case.
There were a lot of cool touches I saw pointed out how that some members of Mysterio's team can be seen in the background during Peter's school trip.
If only they gave Spidey a practical suit too. :'(
Remember when Spiderman went to pick up his prom date and the fucking vulture opens the door and he's her dad? That was incredible
This
Remember how he threatened him with a gun, despite Peter having super strength, agility and could have easily taken him out before he could've reacted?
Me neither.
Cringe
MCU Vulture is legit a far better version of the character than MU Vulture in both design, personality, and motivation.
which scene is this?
BvS Lex, "Mandarin", Killian, Ghost, the mob guy from Antman and the Wasp, Whiplash, and the Dark Elf guy from Thor 2 were all shit on when their movies came out, retard. And Zemo being shit or not has been debated since Civil War came out.
cringe and have sex
You’re right it was fine. However it could have been fucking amazing if they did another illusion sequence. With loads of crazy shit coming at Peter but he uses his spider sense to see straight through it. Instead of just a boring dark corridor. So yeah it was fine but there is nothing wrong with wanting more from a movie, especially when they already showed they were capable of it in the earlier illusion scene.
>and motivation
>make him a Tony Stark villain instead of a Spider-Man villain
"No."
He wasn't a Tony Stark villain, he simply stole from Tony Stark, Spider-Man was the one to actually fight and stop him.
>gets ruined by Tony Stark
>hates Tony Stark
>realizes it's stupid to trying and fight the billionaire wearing a flying nuclear battlesuit and a dozen superpowered friends
>proceeds to spend years freely stealing from Tony Stark and selling high tech weapons and gear to criminals
Calling him a Tony Stark villain implies a conflict between to the two. Toomes spent years operating a gun running business supplied by a completely unaware Stark.
that's pretty cool
man the more I think of it, I really liked their portrayal of Vulture. He felt a lot like Captain Cold in terms where he stayed low and tried to avoid the big shots, though he did had no qualms with outright murder, but tbf he did gain a respect towards Spidey in the end.
Also, Peter screwing up the family of the girl he liked had a very classic Parker Luck feel to it.
How many times mcu heroes have used the same disguise?
I mean to be fair MCU movie villains have been getting better over the past couple of years. Plus Spider-Man villains and Mysterio especially are characters that a lot of comic and cartoon fans have an affinity for. So I wouldn’t be surprised to see this version of Mysterio remembered fondly, especially if he appears in the Sinister Six further down the line.
>Also, Peter screwing up the family of the girl he liked had a very classic Parker Luck feel to it.
Poor Liz gets screwed over bad in the movie.
>the guy she likes keeps bailing on things they could do together and makes her worry
>she nearly dies
>her homecoming date leaves without a dance or anything
>her dad is arrested
>she's forced to leave behind her home, school, and friends
Yes he was good until he started screaming in every scene he was in and threatening his allies for no reason.
he was unstable so
>for no reason
it's established that he was unstable, and also he was acting in the first half
But that's the thing, to pull off this kind of plan and manage to trick Peter and not-Nick Fury, I expected him to be level-headed, everything after the bar scene kinda ruined it for me (except the mind trick, that was great).
>not loving the part where he's directing his crew
Was it ever explained how Doctor Strange and the Avengers know each other? His face popped up on the list of heroes wiped out by Thanos in the opening of Endgame and Skrull Fury and Hill seemed to know who he was
Post yfw Mysterio is alive and just pretended to be dead so Peter would fuck off
Post yfw the Sinister Six is formed and they fight Peter but Shocker accidentally lets him survive so he's kicked out
Post yfw he joins a small-time gang who call themselves the Superior Six, despite being only five people
>MCU movie villains have been getting better over the past couple of years
*worse
>and then he's a normal guy, so i'll just take the glasses from him
I loved that peter's plan basically ended at "stop the holograms" because mysterio is so comparatively weak
>le contrarian
how
You’re right Malekith, Aldrich Killian, Whiplash and Kaecilius are SO MUCH BETTER than Thanos, Vulture, Klaw, Killmonger and Mysterio.
How will he be related to Stark?
My guess is he was the window washer for the Avengers tower.
Whiplash was. Haven't seen Mysterio or Vulture, Klaw was so-so because they killed him off too early, and Thanos and Killmonger were so garbage tier it isn't funny.
Also, Klaw's been around since Avengers 2.
> implying feige will do anything that is related to sony's garfield abortions
He’s just a dude with illusions against the guy whose sixth sense can nope his way out of his bullshit
>He felt a lot like Captain Cold
I thought so too.
Mysterio also reminded me of CW's Zoom in several places.
