First volume was fantastic but it all kind of ground to a halt once the gang got back together. I'm still enjoying it but it's lost a lot of momentum

Well I think the point of it is that it’s supposed to be more character centered. The issue is that when they try to represent a character’s problem with the action it kinda falls flat. Like the first few “villains” are an old lady and a 13 year old girl, which they can’t fight because they think it’d be morally wrong. Then there’s the children of the Gibborim who are literal gods, and after so much build up they defeat them with some bullshit. But the character development that these problems push is really good, but they seem to be used as excuses for development rather than actual problems they have to solve. It’s sucks because it would be considered kino if the “villains” had as much thought as everything else, and not just tacked on.

It's the only Marvel book I read.

It's pretty nice. Good character interactions, plenty of suffering.

I really want them to deal with Xavin sometime soon though.

Some of my favorite parts of BKV's run was when they were just trying to live their lives and buy groceries and shit.

I miss Klara.

I actually liked their solution to beating the baby Gibborim

The Runaways were completely out of their league and were getting stomped. So they sacrificed one of their few assets to end things, or at least make it so the Gibborim were no longer their problem

When has she not been? They literally yanked her out of the timeline from the moment of her death, she's exactly the same

I'm not crazy about some of Rowell's decisions but this is the best the book/team has been since BKV. Really miss Strain on colors, though.

I think Klara/Sandman would also be cool, both have elemental abilities, as well as their characters being able to work well together. Sandman would be very protective of Klara, and Klara feeling out of place in modern day, along with how her life was in the past, sandman would be like a surrogate father to her.

This is the last child of the Gibborim and he hungers. Do you feed Gib your feeble mortal soul?
