You know, if Disney hadn't been slowly erasing public domain, some obsessed fan would have come along and made comics of goof troop. Whereupon, once the IP was revitalised, Disney could swoop in and make another movie and act like it had done all the work.
Too bad Disney doesn't know how to operate on an equal playing field.
