To everyone who's watched this show, what do you like about it? What would you change or like improved?
Also, does anyone know when the next episode is coming out? I binged all 10 episodes and personally I really enjoyed, I have a feeling it'll get even better as it goes.
Surprisingly enjoyable after a the first few meh episodes. I'm not normally into such hyper action but the series is at its best when the characters go completely apeshit, OP's pic related. Voicework for the protagonists and townies is superb - all the distinct characters are the highlight of the series. Except for the main villains, they're so bland I keep forgetting they even exist.
Jackson Perry
OP here! I agree with you, the first few episodes were okay imo but as it goes on it gets a lot better like immediately. I love the voice acting, I expected Adorabat to do a weird soft voice all the time like Chloe from WBB but then she caught me off guard with her screaming. I also really love Mao Mao's voice acting, I was surprised to hear it's the creator Parker Simmons voicing.
My favorite Sweetie Pie character is Chubbum saying his weird voice and his design, his arms are so short he can't even clap, but all the Sweetie Pies are very fun to watch panic on screen
I like Orangusnake and the other villains, they remind of King K Rool with his sidekicks from Donkey Kong Country as well as Dr Robotnik and his from AOSTH, and my favorite sidekick is Ratarang but my problem with them is that they don't stand out yet, fingers crossed that'll change.
Also, I just checked Wikipedia to see if any new episode names came up
>"All By Mao Self"
>Mao Mao fights crime at the dump and worries he has not fulfilled his destiny of becoming a true legend.
Carter Campbell
I just want a full opening song.
Dylan Flores
Saw it on TV and was pretty fucking surprised they got away with raping that white tiger dude. Looks pretty good though otherwise.
I'm really enjoying it, it's come out at a time where I'm not watching anything and this hits all the criteria for me. I like how we're getting a breakdown of the badass warrior archetype, learning he just has massive daddy issues and is the runt of his family makes him really interesting in my opinion.
I also really like how Badger isnt just a typical big dumb buff dude but he's emotionally vulnerable and the goodest boy.
The backgrounds are also extremely well made and it's nice seeing a show that's pretty consistently on model, I also like adorabat, the first episode I thought she would be awful but she grew on me pretty quick.
Isaac Cox
Drawfag if I have time, any requests?
Jackson Nguyen
I hate this show and have no interest watching it purely because of the bland looking characters and lack of waifus in it
I enjoy the trio. Also like how fucking insane and maniacal Mao Mao is with some of his plots to the point I can see him being a villain. I mean just look at that shit he pulled on the fox
Jordan Cruz
Mao Mao Lounging on a chair sipping a cup of tea?
Nathaniel Phillips
Still not interested because im not a furfag, i hate the aesthetic of this show and how not only are they all animals but look like the WBB characters. Cartoon network has shown they dont want my viewership anymore, between this and the only other new shows being craig of the creek and summer camp islnd, and i will repay them in kind, at least disney channel has amphibia now.
Christian Powell
That's fair, if you dont like it you dont like it, we still love you for who you are user and your opinions are what make you, you. So don't ever stop being you.
I really like simple character designs as you can get allot of millage out of them animation wise if you decide to do so. I haven't watched amphibia yet, can't find a mega anywhere, is it good?
Oliver Carter
That sounds cute, I'll do it, if the thread dies I'll post it on /ic
Hudson Rivera
For some reason it caught my eye and I'm enjoying it.
Carson Gonzalez
>I haven't watched amphibia yet, can't find a mega anywhere, is it good? Its the only cartoon released in the past year that has made me consistently laugh.
It is. You'll have some catching up to do since they're airing new episodes almost on daily basis.
Lucas Cox
The general friendship between the main characters is pretty cute. It's pretty obvious that Mao Mao cares deeply for Badgerclops and Adorabat.
Matthew Cruz
no one's gonna attack you sorry.
Chase Young
Thank you very much user
Luis Sanders
I keep hearing Mao Mao say "damn it" when he meets the little animals for the first time and tries to get them away from him. What does he actually say?
Elijah Turner
Blushing Mao Mao if possible plz
Lucas Cooper
Around what timestamp?
Christian Hernandez
Amphibia is less wacky and action packed than Mao Mao but I find the general premises and the protagonists oddly similar. Anne and Mao Mao both found themselves stranded in a strange town and struggle with personal issues, especially ones involving denial and seeking approval.
Upon checking by myself earlier I come to the conclusion some time in August, they still have to air 6 episodes from the last batch throughout the rest of July.
How long until we start seeing more of Mao Mao's family? I'm really intrigued and want to know
Brayden Mitchell
I like the early 2000s to early 2010's feeling, like it's something that your parents would buy at Walmart or you'd find at a library and it's made by some small company that you never heard of and it's like a dream were somethings seems like other shows you've seen but other things are upside down different. It's like a blast from an era where you couldn't just google episode 24 of X and you didn't know all the new releases 10 mouths in advance. Personally if I could improve it I'd change out the sound effects since there really overused and it takes me out of the experience.
Ethan Carter
i'm surprised this isn't a more popular dynamic
Adrian Nelson
>what do you like about it? What would you change or like improved? Haven't watched all eps yet, but I'm kinda sad the thunderfist gorilla wasn't among the recurrent space pirate troop. I don't really like the ostrich.
Other than that show's fine. It's a tiny little dumb cute fun thing but it seems it'll eventually delve into plot, much like OKKO. I hope that doesn't kill it.
Is it just me, or do I feel like this show is flying under the radar? It's really good and few people are talking about it
Blake Cook
Genuinely haven't seen anything about the show outside of Yea Forums, looks like this is gonna be another one to add to the list of great shows that died way too soon.
Asher Hill
All I saw was CN's ads for it but i'm pretty sure they're just now getting to releasing episode 3 or so.
CN is just really being shitty to new shows while still clinging onto their dying cow called TTG.
Anthony Lewis
I haven't seen all the episodes either but hopefully Orangusnake reunites with his full crew. It would be cool if they were uber strong this whole time and the heroes simply lucked out on not having to face endgame-tier bosses at the beginning of their journey.
honestly, the worry I get from this show dying has almost spurred me to buy it for once. This is the first time I've felt that way about any show
Josiah Young
>what do you like about it?
I like that it's a mashup of 80s cartoon tropes without being too overt about it, but also mixed with 90s video game character design aesthetic. I also like that despite the fast pacing, it actually manages to be funny, somewhat witty and charming. And as said, the delivery of the lines is on point every episode. It's just dumb, episodic fun and I really appreciate that right now.
>What would you change or like improved? The villains could stand some fleshing out. Not too much, but something to make them stand out a little more.
Also Badgerclops could stand to be a little less of a "softboi". I know he's supposed to be the contrast to Mao Mao's hardcore personality, but he basically turned from an average guy into Panda from We Bare Bears in short order.
Logan Baker
Urge to brap-post.... rising....
Brayden Nelson
It's a semi-decent comedy action thing. Made with enough heart to me to appreciate.
Wyatt Taylor
I just finished watching all the episodes the other day myself, and I freaking love it. The characters are great, the acting is great, and it manages to pack in an insane amount of energy without it becoming obnoxious. Special props go to the writers and Adorabat's VA for taking the archetype that could easily have been the most annoying character on any other show and making her genuinely lovable. I will agree with about Orangusnake and his goons needing some proper time to shine, because they have a ton of potential.
I watched the first episode, here's what should be changed:
Maomao's main motivations are a joke. Even in shit like SU they don't treat their protagonist like a joke side character. Maomao is like a bad version of randy cunningham at the moment, and it's pretty painful to watch something that had potential just end up being a repeat of the same old, it doesn't innovate at all, it doesn't really do anything and it's nothing special
Andrew Russell
There's nothing wrong with wanting to be famous.
Noah Miller
>what do you like about it? all of it? The characters are good and have synergy, The animation is nice, it's a love letter to older cartoons, is decently funny. I wouldn't say it's the best at any of it, but it has potential that I feel it can deliver on if given the time. There's clearly heart in this. >What would you change or like improved? ratings, obviously. But really the biggest problem I have is pacing being weird sometimes, especially with jokes. Not a big deal, but noticeable. Also, on two separate occasions, I've seen the voice not matching the lip flaps. Again, annoying, but not a dealbreaker
Levi Evans
What's that from again
Mason Campbell
Honestly the dynamic of the main 3 is pretty great, Mao Mao has the right mix of asshole and competent. His bravado one minute mixed with his fatherly defense of adorabat gets a laugh out of me.
Henry Green
I don't know man, Scoops is pretty cute too.
Lincoln Foster
He wants to be legendary and for his dad to love him. He's already great at what he does and easily outclasses most threats, even the main villain. He really isn't a chump and he's treated well enough.
Joshua Reyes
I thought they were going to go in that direction with Badgerclops, but he's still mean and sassy. Not like Panda at all.
John Fisher
just wait until Toffee comes out of the woodwork as the real villain, Mao Mao gets overwhelmed, and his sisters begin appearing and upstaging his abilities.
Asher Garcia
Badgerclops is definitely cooler than Panda. Were they really expecting a weebcel with a waifu pillow to be endearing?
William Walker
Why would Toffee be in this? It's a given that they're going to upstage him, he wouldn't be so insecure if they didn't already do that.
Kevin Smith
I think it's more of a case of "lol relatable" when it comes to Panda. He canon cries every morning and got cucked by a chad black weeb.
Jack Anderson
I meant in the sense that a real BBEG will come in and upstage Orangusnake or whatever and be a real threat. Just seems like the way they might go
Carter Rivera
I don't even know if it'll ever be plot heavy enough for that, but you're probably right. There kind of has to be something more threatening than Monarchsnake for there to ever be real stakes. I heard about a tiger who is going to have a weird rivalry with the king.
The whole network itself is shitting the bed, how are it's stats on the app itself going? Isn't that where most of the episodes were uploaded from anyway?
David Watson
I don't understand how it got those shit ratings. It's better than fucking Apple and Onion.
nice density there mate adorabat is supposed to be gender neutral but people make it a point to give it a gender as a joke to trigger trannies like you
one legendary sister wear armor like legendary dad , the other legendary sister most likely martial artist . and not so legendary mao mao train as ninja .
which one of the legendary sister will appear first in season 1 .
It's fun and Mao Mao is cute. His voice is a huge draw for me, I could listen to him scream and rumble all day long. Animation is fun to watch.
The plots are rather juvenile, but perhaps we could use a return to dumb cartoons once in a while. It's frenetic and fast paced and I need more.
Angel Peterson
This is huge for me, I almost want to see him become a villain. Everything about his design, voice work, and character point at a villain but he chooses to be a hero.
Samuel Williams
What if it turns out he's bad at being a villain?
Oliver Adams
His past seems to indicate he's never tried. I'm a sucker for good guys going bad (temporarily even). The drama of their friends trying to pick up the pieces and figure out where they went wrong is delicious.
I mean c'mon, listen to his evil laugh. He's definitely got some villainous traits. He's in a position of power and he sometimes abuses it (though it's played for laughs), is a skilled swordsman and is (currently) virtually unchallenged, has issues with not being worshipped to the point where he chases down and stalks a townsperson (again played for laughs but still), and has an inferiority complex with daddy issues.
Did you see the way he handled the fox? I can't be the only one who was a little unsettled by how he mentally tortured the guy.
My personal wish is to see him slowly turn more and more evil and unhinged in his pursuit of love and validation from his sisters and dad, to the point where he bests them in battle and suddenly he's the villain that everyone has to work to take down.
After thinking about it, I kind of like it when the hero is the one who's a bit pitiful rather than the villain because it makes them more sympathetic and it makes you want to root for them even more. It also helps that Mao Mao is still shown to be competent and appreciated for his efforts. While reflecting on the first episode, I like that Orangusnake was the one who called Mao Mao sad rather than the other way around because that's not only more in character for a villain but I'm getting tired of seeing heroes that are bullies. I know it's a very minor detail but I prefer the character dynamics to be this way.
There is nothing that would bring me more joy than Mao Mao driving away Badgerclops and all his friends and family in his maniacal pursuit of validation and finally, Adorabat is forced to confront Mao Mao about his villainous tendencies, and then he too turns on her, accusing her of not respecting him and or liking him.
Her little heart would shatter as she tries to convince him that she does but that he's acting horrible. Ultimately, she'll have to join forces with the new team comprised of Mao Mao's sisters and Badgerclops that has to take down the heroic black cat she once cherished and loved.
I mean he and Badgerclops are still kind of bullies to Orangusnake and his gang. I almost feel sorry for them at times.
Almost makes you think it's intentional.
Jonathan Diaz
I feel mao is a good guy written as a villain with the voice of a villain and I honestly love this combo inb4 timeskip where adorabat is the hero and mao is the big bad
I think all 5 sisters would appear at once, then his dad. Mao's character arc won't be over but it'll at least gives us light on how they are and how they treat Mao.
The thing about Mao is that he takes the "lawful neutral" approach to being a hero. Maybe his dad sensed it in him that ultimately Mao is selfish and his reasons for wanting to be a hero aren't really heroic. He was seeking fame, glory, and daddy's love, nothing really moral about him. He acts in the name of justice because that's what a hero does and he wants to be seen as one. We've seen him be sadistic and self obsessed to the detriment of those around him. Maybe the twist will be that he needed Badgerclops, Adorabat, and these carebear knockoffs to help him be a real hero.
Kevin King
>The lack of lore and waifus hurts it >waifus waifufags need to die
Leo Cruz
How is that ever a factor? Why?
This.
Benjamin Hill
user I think you should stop thinking about trannies every minute, or maybe you're just projecting...
Dominic Harris
nah its just a /vp/ meme, I just saw the thing where its confirmed that adorabat is a girl though I really don't give a shit about gender politics, just having a good time
Kayden Evans
Lorefags are worst than waifufags. At least waifufags actually enjoy shows for what they are, instead of what they imagine the show could be.
Ryder Collins
What's wrong with fapping to Mao Mao? arrogant runts make for the best sex.
Jack Anderson
Especially when you imagine you're the one in control, showing him who's boss haha
Wyatt Scott
>Villain-tier protagonists A fine acquired taste. Chad villain protagonists are delicious. (Especially if they don't push hypocritical crap like muuuh morals, muuh virtues)
It's so stupid and rude to think what you would change about something that ISN'T yours in the first place. Make your own shit, motherfucker, then do whatever the fuck you want with it.
Adam Phillips
Im in newgrounds as King of Sorrow because desu i dont know where else to go
Ethan Thomas
How do you go about keeping on-model in your drawings? I notice there's very little construction lines on Mao and Badgerclops
Robert Martin
Why is mao mao so godamn cute.
Easton King
Fuck off ESL
Ian Jenkins
Well both mao mao and badgerclops are comprised mostly by basic shapes, for example mao mao when he has his cloack closed he is a cilinder with a oval on top and two triangles, then add details
>I can't be the only one who was a little unsettled by how he mentally tortured the guy. Nah you aren't, I was genuinely shocked and confused by how quickly the tone changed. I thought a point was gonna get made about how you shouldn't do bad stuff even for a good goal but they played it straight.
Jordan Hill
he's a cutie
Matthew Lee
>At least waifufags actually enjoy shows for what they are >i will change the personality of any female character that isn't specifically designed to be unattractive into whatever trope i think is hot and then watch the show only so i can fap to that one specific character rlly makes u think
Jason Johnson
Reminder she threatened to kill a guy's mommy for not praising Mao Mao
Cameron Lopez
The point was you can't just trust people who are nice to you. Remember, the fox and raccoon were stealing shit from the valley by acting nice. The psychological torture was actually the icing on the cake that made me love the series as a whole.
Jonathan Harris
>How did...how did you do the voice? >I just practiced!
Got a kick out of that.
Austin Gomez
The show looks nice, sure, but I don’t like how Badgerclops says y’all all the time but doesn’t even have a southern accent
Also years of internet discourse has conditioned me to imagine all the lurid pornography that people want of Badgerclops fucking MaoMao even though Mao is probably a top I really hate that. Not the show, just me
Isaac Bailey
yeah but they could've just beaten him up normally instead of mind-fucking him
there's such a thing a going too far
Julian Hughes
I want mao mao to realize he ain't shiiiiit. He should be the bitch
Connor Hernandez
How many Morgana comparisons were there from Yea Forums about Mao?
Parker Turner
To be fair, they screwed with an innocent child's mind (and everyone else's in Pure Heart Valley), so I figured that was payback for what the fox and the raccoon did. It's still goddamn funny, even though it was pretty fucked up. I wonder how they managed to get away with that.
I mean, it makes sense for people to want that considering Mao Mao has father issues and desperately wants his father's approval, so it also makes sense for Badgerclops to do some things like that to him, like "cherishing" each other and praising Mao Mao for doing such a good job offscreen.
I mean, there is someone whose denouncing the show simply because there are no waifus or because the females don't have sexual dimorphism ("breast bumps" and whatnot) since they're more animal like, so yeah not surprising.
Isaiah Cooper
Oh it's funny, but both Mao and Badgerclops take pleasure in torturing people and Adorabat gets homicidal over fucking nothing. They're all really bad at being good guys.
That was ‘Ol Blue, who she’s KNOWN for most of her life. So I wouldn’t take the part about her threat seriously; it was just a gag.
Isaac Cruz
Perhaps they'll all be confronted by the townspeople that even though they're doing the right things to keep people safe they're going about it the wrong ways and being bullies. Or they could have a slow dawning realization when they start avoiding the trio or even actively hiding when they come into town.
Maybe Mao would even have a crisis of conscience.
Zachary Sanchez
*ahem*
FUCK MAO MAO FUCK BADGERCLOPS FUCK ADORABAT FUCK MAO MAO'S STUPID SWORD AND FUCK HIS RETARDED AEROCYCLE
good go find another show to shit up the threads for

>You've got the dud
Gabriel Jenkins
I'mma give you an F to you lewd user.
Mason Hill
Do we know whether the episodes on July 8th did well or nah? I'm curious to see the TV Ratings, even though the Web App probably matters more to them now.
Thomas Stewart
I fucking love it. It's so sweet and badass at once, and actually LOOKS good. Not a bad design in the bunch. Plenty of silly but zero goofy.
Daniel Foster
Mao Mao aishiteru t. Adorabato
Samuel Peterson
It gets a lot done in a few seconds, but yes.. i wnt the full length anime theme song Blushy Adorabat reading a book labeled "Shirtless man stories"
Jonathan Morris
No it wasn't.
Christian Lewis
I'm waiting for the really big villains to kinda slowly trickle in and make shit get serious.
Andrew James
>Blushy Adorabat reading a book labeled "Shirtless man stories" You mean, "Shirtless Mao stories" Oh wait, he's already shirtless.
Robert Cox
>the writers and Adorabat's VA interestingly, she is one of those! I love how genuine she is with her love. It's just pure hero worship, no subtext. It's almost a commentary on all those old cartoon shows where there's a village of themed cuties but zero familial relationships, and one of them FINALLY found a guy to be her awesome big brother
Julian Harris
You know what I just realized? This is a worthy successor to Golan the Insatiable >creator voices the main character >gruff main guy who is still funny and has some flaws but solidly qualifies as the archetype he is and can legitimately kick ass >adorable acolyte hanger-on who craves violence and is willing to throw herself into twice as much danger as he actually ever asks her to
Joshua Brown
why baleet?
Connor Gonzalez
you remove the construction lines when you finish up a drawing, user physical violence they could just brush off and even become martyrs in their own minds psychological torture gives them a taste of their own medicine. they might not be so happy to inflict it on others next time.
is this your art, user? can I give you some tips? gotta watch that thumb, it's coming out of the hand right under the pointer finger. The fingers on the other hand seem to be ignoring the hand they're attached to Also the shins are somewhat deleted. A leg is shaped like a Z. Sometimes (in like, cats and horses) the thigh and shin are connected by their muscles into one big curve shape.
Jackson Diaz
yo thanks, i'll see if i can do something about those later
Levi Clark
Pretty good! Yeah, the perspective could use some work and the hand is a little off, but still nice work.
Joshua Martin
>"do you love your mommy?!" >"nonono... we'll get to that later." Pretty sure they're evil.
Isaac Bell
He smells evil Should we ask Daddy? No let's keep poking him a while longer
Brody Gutierrez
So, this is basically TFS Vegeta and Nappa the series?
Ethan Garcia
Eh not really, the best comparison I've heard is what you'd imagine Meta Knight, DeDeDe, and Kirby are like when they hang out.
Or kinda like Finn, Jake, and BMO, but Finn is having one of his Ichigo from Bleach days, and BMO isn't pulling her usual bullshit.
Alexander Russell
I actually swear there's a character who sounded and talked just like Badgerclops in something I used to watch, but I'm having trouble thinking of what.
oh wow he's an animator too. They're all staff. good for them. means they wont gouge themselves for more money. But just like the others, this is his first acting gig, so no help there. I just remember another chill dude with a really similar tude on some show, who was just super agreeable and friendly and didn't do much.. but unlike the examples of that description whose names I can recall, he had this really nondescript regular-guy voice. that's the part Badgerclops reminds me of.
Adrian Barnes
Per the latest episode we now know Mao Mao has a tendency to exaggerate when his feelings are hurt. Bao Bao is a dog that lacks emotional intelligence and chases after things on a whim. While it would certainly sting anyone if their pet ran off, what we also have here is rage. Combined with his powers, all it would take is his heart breaking for him to make a turn to the dark side, I believe (and would relish).
What we have here is a crippling fear of abandonment. In addition, it's coupled with a near irrational anger when he feels that he's been rejected. The images of his father and sister depict them as larger than life (and him), but I'm willing to believe that there was some sort of emotional neglect and lack of affection growing up. These issues don't just pop up from nowhere. If he was loved and cared for like his sisters were and allowed to flourish, he wouldn't have the sorts of emotional issues lurking beneath the surface. He tries so very hard to harden himself and stop himself from weeping until Adorabat makes him admit that he is really hurt by Bao Bao running off, and then the waterworks flow (hilariously).
We've also learned that Mao Mao has traveled solely with Bao Bao for a period at a young age in his green getup, and I'm wondering if he may have run away after feeling neglected. And then later as an adult, per Badgerclops' recollection Bao Bao was traveling alone. Mao Mao may isolate himself from others, classic fear of vulnerability perhaps? But for a moment when he believes that he's finally reunited permanently with Bao Bao, he quickly embraces his former canine companion.
Mao Mao, like all of us, wants to be close to people as well.
I cannot wait for the inevitable reuniting of him and his sisters. There were be clear sibling resentment and rivalry. However, since he has a tendency to exaggerate, his sisters may very well be pleasant, kind, and fun cats to be around.
Adorabat and Badgerclops will most likely be drawn to his sisters and would probably push Mao Mao aside for a bit to hang out with them. This might just send Mao Mao over the edge. His crippling fear of abandonment will have him nearly suffocate Badgerclops and Adorabat (as he and Badgerclops nearly did in one episode), leading them to avoid him or stay away for just a bit. Like most people, sometimes we want to hang out with other friends or need our alone time.
We've all felt this way at some point or another in our lives. Mao Mao is painfully relatable (or could be, who knows how it'll go down). He's a flawed cat who wants to do good in the world for perhaps the wrong reasons, but there's no such thing as a completely altruistic hero.
Now comes the near irrational rage. Mao Mao is hurt, bad. In his mind, the logical thing to do is to remove the people that are taking his best friends away from him. He may very well draw his sword on his family to evict them or best them in battle.
I'd like to see him win.
But of course, the townsfolk, Adorabat, and Badgerclops will be horrified by his actions.
Start from episode 1 to see Mao Mao, Badgerclops and Adorabat meet for the first time and why Mao Mao and Badgerclops stay in Pureheart Valley of course.
But then again, just watch all ten episodes.
Lucas Howard
yeah seriously, the entire show is currently sitting at a bit over 100 minutes. If you really don't have that kinda time, maybe TV isn't for you.
Dylan Mitchell
Honestly gotta agree, going through an archive and finding this show's download links is probably easy, but it's also been confirmed they're on kimcartoon too so honestly this is not a hard show to watch.
Elijah Brown
It's hard getting to episode 10 and knowing you have to wait for more
Asher Foster
Honestly the modern cartoon annoyance. Lot of them just going on somewhat horrendously long hiatuses.
Alexander Price
Someone's losing their minds in this thread waiting for more episodes he started writing his own.
But I appreciate the content.
Brayden Long
it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't burn off every new chunk of them which in turn wouldn't usually be so bad if you could just wait for the slower airing, but then you're behind all the discussion and half the time it all aired in singapore first or someshit so basically everyone has to pirate in order to enjoy spoiler-free discussion.
Lincoln Murphy
How will Mao Mao be able to recover?
Jackson Baker
I dunno yet. I don't think he will, not without the power of forgiveness and true friendship. But he has to really make some big mistakes first.
"A hero is never wrong!"
Egotism will get the best of him. He was doing the right thing in his mind, but everyone tells him he's wrong. Mao Mao admit his faults so easily, especially in emotionally charged situations. He couldn't even admit he was wrong in an admittedly low stakes situation (his bike being stolen).
There comes his fear of being abandoned again, and then anger. His friends are against him. The townspeople are against him. He'll dig his heels in.
Maybe for a few episodes people will start to avoid him. Perhaps the townsfolk will even begin to fear his presence when he comes into town (locking their doors and running away?) He'll be puzzled and confused.
And the fun part is when he comes to the conclusion that he will MAKE the people of Pure Heart love and cherish him. Perhaps in his depressed and lonely state he'll make a few logical jumps to, "I'll usurp King Snugglemane. He's unfit to protect and rule this kingdom. THEN everyone will love me."
He'll probably fight everyone, and he'll probably win. And there could be the typical "everyone gets together and learns how to fight as a team to take Mao Mao down" episodes, but honestly I think he'll eventually draw his own conclusion as he rules Pure Heart with a firm, but still good intentioned fist. He'll start to notice how everyone is terrified of him, even when he's trying to be nice and ask how everyone's lives are going. And at last he is finally alone, with no friends or family.
Mao Mao will probably come to his senses, right as everyone is about to storm the castle. He can finally admit he's wrong, but he's terrified of what will happen to him once they beat him. So he runs and comedically plops King Snugglemane back in his throne and runs, even though Adorabat is calling for him because she still cares for him a lot.
Ratarang is the best. The way he delivered his line "come on throw me at em" and the sheer absurdity of his character was one of the first things to win me over.
Mason Wilson
he's also voiced by the same guy who does mao mao
Sebastian Reed

Never said it was, just that it's funny that everyone in the show says it. It's especially funny when Badgerclops says it angrily.
Gabriel Gutierrez
I really liked his line about the meatballs
Joshua Stewart
“Oh, ma-ma!”
Matthew Rogers
I like how Ratarang dances around while eating a banana in celebration when they have the party music going and Mao spies them through the magical rhinoculars. And the rhinoculars themselves. And that exchange of glares between Mao and Pinkie that led up to it. And the fact that Mao just thought about how the rhinoculars aren't really magical, it's just another self obsessed item Pinkie owns and the subsequent line of "nothing's magical". Fuck that whole scene is just golden.
It's nice how competent this show is at everything it tries to do. The cute shit is cute, the cool shit is cool.. that's pretty uncommon nowadays.
Jayden Lopez
Hi, I'm Genndy Tartakovsky. If I was in charge of this series, Mao Mao and Adorabat would be an official love couple at the end of the series. That's what me and the viewers like to see.
nevertheless, since this thread links to that thread, you're still fine. Oh, fair enough. That kind of thing can really rub people wrong. That's not shit taste, that's just being sensitive to certain noises. I find it delightful but I totally get it.

oh how do you like that, he didn't do any well an artist this good doesn't always need to. Though I still have objections re: some of the adoranatomy choices. as well as the basic premise. I mean I doubt she's going to more than double in height. But that's why fanart is great, you can do anything you want.
Fuck off, autist. No cartoon is going to fuck you.

oh my god someone kept the wip i made and no, i didnt remove none of them thats literally how i made Mao in that drawing.
>an artist this good awww user :3 but yeah, i can make a more accurate to the show style version of adult adorabat, in fact... i will get to work on it right now.
Well that, and we haven't had a huge variety of characters on this show yet to extrapolate from. There's the stubby cuties, all of TWO relatively normal warrior guys, and a bunch of bizarre, grotesque cyborg animals. so if you figured adorabat would grow out of her "Art style" and into mao mao's, you'd have a lot of guesswork to do to figure out what that's like. In that regard, I don't think you were far off.
Logan Watson
>I love youuuu >iloveyou Mao Maooo >Fiiinally my dreams are coming true >You're showing me howww >How to be a heeero like you!

What would Mao do
Jordan Wood
Their geometry is so fucking appealing. I really have to draw them.
Cooper Evans
how about this version of adorabat? i tried to make it more show accurate.
Interesting! I mean I still doubt she's gonna get that tall, but I like it!! and it definitely fits the show's style. If nothing else this is probably how she imagines her future self. don't forget to work the peg leg in. which also begs another question, where do we think the leg is amputated? above or below the knee? you're a good artist and you work pretty interestingly
Noah Ramirez
>Fingerless wings good
Aiden Brooks
>completely forgot the peg leg um...... i will get back to work user.
and it seems that she is missing the entire leg.
Adrian Watson
>I still doubt she's gonna get that tall Come on man She's got to end up taller than MaoMao at least
Jose Collins
Make the heart bigger It should probably also be on her stomach right? Like a carebear. That's the reference they're making isn't it
Michael Anderson
Yeah but how would you stretch that to a more fully-drawn torso? I don't think there is a right way to do it, which is one of the reasons I was hung up on the proportions. I mean the biggest one of the cuties is a dang lion, and he's only just as big as mao mao. This is a cute little bat. and unless you think she's a literal toddler (possible) she can't be ready to do more than double in size.. maaaybe triple. I also personally try to draw bats with more... slight proportions, for better flying. but you won't get many complaints with those Hartman Hips as for that though, I dunno. it seems to have the 'lip' that a stump traditionally fits into. It's really tough to say, at that size, in that style. You could get away with it either way.
Aiden White
She could be tall but her legs would still be proportionally short if we'd want to base her on an actual bat. Sweetypies have simple designs but they're distinctly animal-like, rather than anthro-like.
I think it's a perfect blend of anime and cartoon If you try binge watching the show, Adorabat's voice does get annoying. I had to watch one a day. Also, for some reason, I hate that she doesnt have hands. Feel like there's a limit on her potential because of that, and they'll never really develop her.
i really like this version guys, its way better than i expected it to be, i could change the color of the clothes if you want or anything you guys want, tell me.
