I've mixed feelings on it. Apparently they changed a lot from the original comic, like for example the boys won't be infused with compound V and will be mostly using guns instead, or Jack from Jupiter is replaced with an invisible man knockoff, or Sitwell is now a woman and she makes a lot of public event appearances (which completely misses the point of Sitwell's character since a big part of the plot is that Butcher didn't know who he was). And there's no way they'll adapt some of the more fucked up parts like the G-Men or Herogasm. None of this fill me with too much hope about the show, really.
However some people at reddit (I know I know) said the pilot ep was solid and that they had kept the dark tone of the original comic. So maybe it ends up being better than I thought, despite all the plot changes and all. Who knows, maybe this show will deliver maybe not, either way I'll be pirating it day one since I'm a third world poorfag.

I like Ennis but the comic was trash, so it can only go up from there. I'm happy Garth is getting some TV money but I won't watch this

The comic book parodies don't really work if you know what the parodies are of. The Boys wouldn't last 10 seconds against any of the heroes they're making fun of. Obviously that's not the point, but Yea Forums is full of "but acktually" nerds like that. The most egregious example being the xmen. The entire world's supply of bullets and bombs wouldn't be able to take down the canonical xmen.

I dont hate it but my issue with it is that the whole edgy shenanighans get old real fast. It could be a really good story if you cut a lot of the edgy stuff and parodies that end up just beating the audience in the head, we get it Ennis you kind of hate capes you dont have to repeat it a thousand times. There's a really good story beneath all this bullshit.

I also dont trust Rogen to be able to clean the story in fact I can bet money he will simply make the problems bigger and focus on the shock bullshit and dick jokes.

I would say that it's because the parodies are insanely lazy. Like compare 'Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood' and 'Epic Movie' both are parodies but one is shit. Typically he just makes stand ins for whoever he has a bone to pick with and amps up one aspect of them to 11 and then also says they are a rapist or a child molester on top of that before calling it a day.

I liked that aspect of him, he kept in character showing that he actually gave a shit about his job even on his off time
