Start with Ratboy Dreams Minecraft, like said.
The visuals are indeed odd and crude, but the story and characters are charming in their own right.
The music is also a big part of what makes the series good, it's pretty damn great.
Again, if the RDM episodes don't do it for you then the series simply isn't for you.

Does anybody remember seeing clips from "The Power" in the promos for Regular Show? It created a dumb and juvenile first impression what with the "Don't look at our crotches while we synchronize our watches" scene but I'm glad I was proven wrong. I miss that show.
