This Fem Turtle is not an animal who got mutated. It's a human who ended up mutated into a turtle and it seems IDW did this with Eastman, Waltz, and Tranny Bastard Campbell to apparently give TMNT a female turtle in the core main turtle group.

Even Venus from the 90s at least was an animal who got mutated. And Jennika from IDW TMNT was always boring trash of a character. They should have let her die instead of saqving her via turtle mutation.

April is pretty much slotted wherever is convenient. Right now she's the manager for Baxter Stockman's mayoral campaign, which sounds completely made up but is in fact true.

I really don't get why writers act like April is some puzzle to be solved. The Mirage comics had it perfect. She's a tech head like Donnie and she gives them a place to crash when they need it.

I don't really like Jennika either but her being a human mutated into turtle isn't a problem, it's the fact that she's just Campbell's OC turtle shoved into a mediocre character

There's nothing really, she had a one shot about her past in the Tales of the TMNT but I didn't bother to read it. But judging from the main story stuff that I've read with her she's just this bland token ninja woman that blushes around Casey but that's about it.

This series has become a guilty pleasure of mine, first i read it because i actually liked it, and now i just can't stop no matter how stupid or ugly it gets, some of it is fine still, i liked the Raph and Donnie one shots and Shredder in hell is great, but i hope the main book doesn't just shove Jennika everywhere now because that would actually make me quit this series

Krang's trial for war crimes should have been awesome but it was kind of fucking terrible because it was just pages and pages of people saying shit we already know. I need to grab a few IDW Collections, I'm a bit behind. I'm going to laugh when the Trial of Kraang one is about 10 issues of spin off filler in between actual plot. I've never felt the book did a lot of filler, but the Dimension X mini with the Ghostbusters mini all right there are a lot of sidetracking.

i'll be honest with you user, i forgot about that issue, but it was actually really good, hope the macro series keeps up it's quality.
Trial of Kraang spends a lot of time stablishing shit but they actually use the stuff they established in the next arc so i was fine with all the back story.

The actual trial was fine. The side story stuff felt very superfluous. Normally IDW TMNT does a great job making it all feel important. To the point where I insist the book just double ships, whether they say it or not. But man that stuff was practically just some weak fanservice for Archie fans.

It's the furthest thing from gender neutral as it can get without slapping a character huge tits.

Breasts are just one of the design cues you use to make a character look "female", Alopex uses all the other other ones.

Also is it just me or is Venus NOT really as bad as people whine about? Yes she was written poorly, but her being a Female Turtle could still work.

- Much like Slash do NOT make her part of the core titular group.

Jennika to me is not a true turtle mutant not just because she's human, but even in IDW TMNT mutations CAN be reversed as proven with Bebop and Rocksteady who returned to being human for a while. So Jennika really feels like a pretender a phony who has a disguise to make her seem like a turtle mutant. Ha ha! You know what Jennika reminds me of? The literal transformations from the videogame Banjo Kazooie and just like how those can be reversed if you return to Mumbo or move too far away from Mumbo, Jennika can return to being human and just forget all of this ever happened. Especially with characters like IDW Leatherhead whose mission is to literally undo all mutants of all types.

As far as I see it? Jennika is not a true TMNT. She's not a turtle who got mutated because she's a human. Obviously not going to change her name. And finally even IDW TMNT's continuity already showed that there are at least TWO ways to undo mutations. The first method is that time travel demon who returned Bebop and Rockteady back to their human selves. The other method is being further developed, but Leatherhead whose mission is to undo all mutations. So none of this Jennika turtle crap is going to matter or stick and feels like a giant waste of time publicity stunt to increase sales for a while before it's all reversed. And all of this is using a character NO ONE cares about as well. Pure garbage.

IDW TMNT is kind of like One Piece in that keeping track of dozens of subplots and ancillary characters is part of the appeal. If that's not your thing you might find it to be bloated and not worth your time.

The character writing isn't the strongest but the narrative is surprisingly tight and it always feels like the book is heading somewhere, especially now with issue 100 right around the corner.

TMNT has two creators Laird is the one who HATED Venus like you wouldn't believe and banned Female Turtles (he also seemingly hated love interests for the turtles).

There might be rights issues with her since she was created by Saban, then Saban was bought by Disney, then some of Saban's IPs were freed when Saban bought itself back from Disney while others were left with them. And now Saban is owned by Hasbro, so where the rights to Venus ended up, no one has made a definitive statement.

Considering how unpopular she is and always has been, I doubt anyone is doing any research to see who actually owns her.

Because since its inception the turtles have always been established as four ninja brothers,anyone with passing knowledge of the franchise knows this. Female characters outside of the turtles four man group are free to have their own story, image and agenda outside the restrictions that come with trying to tie in a new turtle into an already established group, so what starts out as 'the new hotness' can build its own legacy without people comparing them to anyone else.

The Archie TMNT series isn't bad because it has environmentalist plots, but the WAY it implements those plots. Captain Planet tier. Well we already know that rule doesn't apply to those outside the main four, because Jenny already killed a good few people in the past.

So what if that rule still doesn't apply to Jenny because she's not one of the main important heavily merchandised turtles, and she's just going to be their designated murder turtle who's actually allowed to finish people off as their own little loophole?

That would be a good use. Instead of being Splinter's Go-To assassin, she becomes the Turtle Go To Assassin. For what it's worth? If Casey or April killed a villain it's also allowed for them to do so (like think April dropping poison in Baxter Stockman's food or something) because the rule only applies to the four turtle brothers.

What I'd like to know is why is this rule even a thing? Leonardo in TMNT 2012 dueled and killed Shredder. No fake out. He just straight up got serious during the finale of Season 4 and just went for the kill.

Keep in mind that TMNT 2012 is a very accessible cartoon as such more kids viewed that. Much more than the ones who are hunting down the IDW TMNT comic and frankly most customers for that are NOT children.

Yeah, Murphy and Allan still have joint ownership of her. That's why IDW created Not-Ninjara via Alopex, so they can have an identical character without having to pay royalties. Nick went a step further with the cartoon version and gave her brown fur and a ninja outfit and a Japanese origin, removing pretty much all the Alopex elements and making her Ninjara in everything but name.

TMNT is like Spyro the dragon, it can be whatever. There is no cemented identity especially since Turtles Forever confirmed the franchise is a multiverse of infinite alternate realities.

In a weird way, it's one of the best things about the franchise. If you encounter a bad TMNT series of any kind you can just ignore it until a better one comes along. Raph and Mike have sort of interesting relationships with their weapons.

Raph has a weapon meant chiefly for defense. Sai's are meant for repelling blades more than anything. So the most aggressive turtles has a deflective weapon. Plus it pairs interestingly with Leo, who he always gets into arguments with.

Meanwhile Mikey has nun-chucks, which are the hardest to master of the four weapons. So the seemingly least caring turtle has the most difficult weapon. It matches up with ideas that he's actually got the most natural talent. So he has a weapon he needs to focus on and train with to even him out with his brothers.

But Leo and Donnie don't really have anything like that, as far as I know.

I don't think i've seen any dev neuter their games on other consoles so it can run on the switch, it seems like they mostly only use old games and remasters when it comes to switch suport.

One thing however is a fact, making games for the Nintendo Switch is factually cheaper than making a game for the current gen consoles and no doubt development costs will only increase during the PS5 and Scarlet. And that could spark developers to look to Nintendo to save money on development cost especially since the Switch is going to have like nine years in total according to an old interview.

But anyway time will tell just how things spread out.
