So why was Titan AE so hated? I thought it was pretty decent, no better or worse than Treasure Planet or Atlantis, and those movies are pretty cherished
I always really enjoyed Titan AE, even as a kid.
Conversely, I never really liked Treasure Planet or Atlantis.
>So why was Titan AE so hated?
I dunno mate, It was not hated just completely ignored by the public and not many are aware it exists, the poor thing got obliterated the first weekend.
Critics back gave it mixed reviews, Roger Ebert like it and compared it to Star Wars, but critics never had that much of an influence in a movie's success unless its was either universally praised or panned.
Atomic Betty
Robot Boy
Brak Show
Also Sealab 2021 seems to be liked here but is barely ever discussed or mentioned
the story was basically jews in space
A tragically underrated series nobody has heard of and will get no more episodes because it was released on a streaming service nobody ever used.
Fill me in user, what is this and what happened?
i like the movie, but i can see why many dont like it.
the movie tries to be adult but at same time its like it dont want to abandon the kids so we have those annoying characters acting like they would act in your tipical disney movie.
also the story is really not that good.
It had some great music.
Obligatory.
Yeah but it's not that different from Star Wars in that aspect
RIP Mighty Ducks
>Facebook watch
Is that a thing?
I liked it, I thought the energy crystal aliens were pretty cool.
IIIII'M IN OVER MY HEAAAAAD
This show was fucking terrible
Real Adventures of JQ
It wasn't hated.
Just no one saw it in theaters. The movie was a massive bomb that killed an entire movie studio. Also Don Bluth's career.
I saw it in theaters and loved it. Yes the CGI/2D animation was awkward looking. But some of the set pieces were gorgeous. The music also was pretty good in that late 90's action movie kinda way. And I thought that cast was solid.
The girl ducks were hot.
That's about all I remember about it.
I still have the VHS, I loved it
I'll just leave this here.
It started good but it went to shit after Harry Goz died.
The blaster noises are seared into my ears.
Nice cropping.
I remember really liking this movie, so I bought the Bluray of it. Watch it the other day, and I still really enjoyed it.
It's just a really funny series about a half-alien girl going through puberty and discovering her latent alien powers supported by her quirky comic-book loving best friend and her hippie xenophile mom.
Lots of fetish bait and it is very eager to point it out when it happens.
The episodes are only 5-8 minutes each so it's a very easy binge, you can find it on kisscartoon or your favorite alternative.
Also checked.
this type of show seems like it would kick ass on a netflix budget
Atlantis falls apart story-wise when you think about it for more than 10 seconds.
>The Virgin Mighty Ducks
>The Chad Space Monkeys
it's my tUUURRRn to flYYYYY
Thanks.
I still have it on VHS.
> make a show with an actually nice message about faith and how self improvement brings you closer to God
> christians bitch about God not being perfect and its gets cancelled
Titan AE is none of those things.
the plot is fucking stupid, it doesn't have a single original idea, and all the aliens look like fucking dinosaurs.
How do you mean? I have my own opinions about the plot (still love the film) but I'm curious what your perspective is.
>show is cancelled
>literally a decade of people saying how hilarious and subversive it was and how such an amazing show was killed too early
>finally airs on Adult Swim
>turns out it's actually kind of bland
I mean, the controversy and hype are more to blame than anything for putting the show on a pedestal but there was a reason it had low ratings when it first aired
Pleb
It's a fucking war crime that this was not the first post ITT
I need the season 4, now.
Me too, user... maybe in another life
Unfortunately canceled by bankruptcy.
Matt Damon, Bill Pullman, and Drew Barrymore are not good VAs and it was distracting.
It's deliberately intended to be as inoffensive as possible. That's a huge part of its charm for me since the show feels completely sincere in terms of its message, but it also kneecaps any kind of widespread appeal.
I remember Curtis Armstrong once said that he suddenly received a phone call saying that the show was canceled. He never received an explanation for it, even though all of the main people were expecting to work on another season and the show's ratings weren't any worse than before. Was surprised that his ex-wife and current wife are actually good friends. Don't know how he pulled off that kind of amicable divorce.
Given how much Yea Forums slobbered over it when it was airing I'd hardly call it underrated
Oscar's Oasis only had 1 season. Unacceptable.
From Armstrong's Facebook page
>It has been canceled, for the baffling and inexplicable reasons that shows like Dan Vs. get canceled. I can't really explain it because it has never been explained to me. Occasionally I would ask about the status of the show and be told that it wasn't canceled, but when I would ask about specifics, there would be long, awkward pauses and then changes to other subjects, like the weather or the possibility of a government shut down (this was the previous government shutdown, which gives you an idea how long this has been going on.) Finally, I had to just give up and move on with my life.
It was probably gutted by Hasjews to sink more money into beating the dead horse that is MLP. Not very surprising but still very disappointing
Read the OP's prompt again slowly this time user. Make sure you read the entire thing as well. It's okay, reading is hard
I liked it as well. I got lucky and got the Hallmark Christmas ornament for this movie, sits with the books. I always thought this movie was another attempt to turn a book into a movie and hope something caught on, shame it didn't.
LOSE MY HEAD TO THE CHEMICAL FREEWAY
Possibly we will never see a sequel.
>>So why was Titan AE so hated?
Nickelback
>over 50 posts without the purest embodiment of all three of OP's categories being posted
Seriously you guys need to get your shit together
>all those people getting deadass murked by fish people
Forgot how dark jq got.
When did “underrated” become code for “thing I like that a lot of people don’t so it makes me feel like a victim of a serious social injustice”?
>and all the aliens look like fucking dinosaurs.
Literally how is that a negative?
...
>Post anything Yea Forums related
but we are already in Yea Forums?
It's honestly a really boring flick that lacks any real substance other than pure visuals. The tone of the film is all over the place and inconsistent. The main threat has major shifts in just how much of a threat they are. Doesn't help a lot of character motivations are very one note or just plain confusing.
In short the movie lacks a lot of focus and it suffers heavily because of it. That's why similar films like Treasure Planet and Atlantis are more well loved years later, they have focus where Titan AE does not.
fillmore! was great. only got 2 seasons.
It does not stop others from posting Yea Forums and Yea Forums shit anyway.
This wouldn't be a problem if mods and jannies actually did their jobs.

Clone high is so underrated I don't get it.
Did you see the pool?
They flipped the bitch!
I've been rewatching this series after the Yea Forums thread about a week ago, and I can safely say that it fits all of those categories.
It's legitimately really damn funny, and it's a shame that it got taken off the air.
I gave this show so many chances and still ended up hating it. It was an ungodly combination of trying to be edgy while staying in the bounds of a kid's show and failed at both. I expected to sympathize with Dan because I like neurotic assholes but his shtick fell flat, his cuck friend was a painful to look at and everyone and everything in this show was unlikable, not in a funny way.
On topic of shows that tried to be something with moderate levels of success. Final Space tried to be a melodramatic space opera while appealing to the hype of R&M, but ended up being forgotten as Family Guy clone #421. Personally, I liked it, despite it feeling rather amateurish.
i watched it on upn. i don't remember anything about it though.
Came to make this post.
Both of these are retarded.

dis·grace
no, dis horribru
Good taste. Disney needs to give its OC Sci-fi more love.
I think one thing that bugs me about Titan AE is this.
What happened to the aliens who helped them? I'm pretty sure they earned the right to be on that planet. They're heroes to humanity.
What are those?
Like 8-tracks, but newer
What are those?
It should have got that movie.
Pirates of Dark Water
Why did this show go away? Now it's only remembered by weirdos who obsess over fat Oblina, lol.
It was not appreciated.
It still hurts. Then again this is what happens when you promote your movie badly and only air it in France exclusively.
That's not how you spell awesome.
>Drawn Together
It deserves so much more attention, only discovered it quite recently and feel it's among my favorite animated films.
There was so much potential for Mighty Magiswords but CN did nothing with it.
Pretty much just lesbian fetish fuel, also with "I will make you question your sexuality" Xandir.
I always wanted a crossover between this and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, like they can have Lord Dragaunus forcibly team up with Zurg, and have Buzz constantly having a grudge between the Mighty Ducks cause they're a Group of Vigilantes that are against Star Command law, and in order for the Ducks to team up with Star Command, Star Command has to beat the Mighty Ducks at a Hockey Game, and it's one big adventure, do you think that would be good?
Why is this movie only on VHS? I want to watch this beautifully animated movie in crystal fucking clear quality. Why does the industry like to fuck over Richard Williams so much?
Tell me what I'm missing here.
I've been wanting a Mighty Ducks and Ducktales crossover considering Beakley is a spy and they're commandos.
Well, I was thinking of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command & the Mighty Ducks cause they're both cartoons from Disney about intergalactic crime fighting space heroes fighting the known criminals of the galaxy, so I just figured a crossover would between the would be a perfect fit, hell I can even see it as one of those Direct-to-DVD Disney movies, I can also the Toy Story coming to watch the movie after Andy and his friend from School comes home to hang out and eat lunch, and the friend has brought the movie which is brought to the Toy Story gang by some of the Mighty Ducks toys (hell you can even use some of the Mighty Ducks toys from the actual Toyline if they can get the rights to) to watch along with them
>almost nobody remembers it
>cancelled after 26 episodes
>written off for tax bull shit by cn so they literally couldn't bring it back if they wanted to
This show deserved so much better
What a generic name
