When are we going to acknowledge that Spider-Man 2's plot was contrived?

>muh sentient evil tentacles

Explain specifically how this is contrived.

>that boring as fuck hour in the middle of the movie without Spider-Man because Peter lost his powers when he got sad

Reminds me of that mind numbingly dull hour in the middle of Iron Man 3 without Iron Man because Tony got sad and quit.

FFH is so much better anyway.

Those aren't even the worst aspects of the movie, Mary Jane is a completely unlikable ho and as such the romance it that drives the movie falls flat

>loses powers because he's sad
The people who defend this shitty movie do it because of nostalgia, right?

when are we gonna acknowledge that op is a fag?

>extremely low quality bait
is this what being on Yea Forums is like?

>I can't enjoy movies/comics without constant quips and explosions
The state of Yea Forums youtu.be/nL8hVXSDmNM

Do explain why arms intended to handle radioactive materials need anything beyond the most primitive of AI.

the arms are directly linked to Ocks Brain, they arnt built with that kind of AI in min but they have it because they are directly tapped into his brain because the inhibitor broke
do people not pay attention to fucking movies?

You just typed up pure gibberish.

Nah, but when I go to see a Spider-Man movie I'd just like for Spider-Man to be in it for more than 10 minutes, that's all.

Spider-Man 1 was better, the only things SM2 had over it were the fight scenes.

go back to Yea Forums you fucking faggot

Yeah. It's even worse in the novelization in which the tentacles full on whisper evil thoughts into Ock's mind.

Spider-Man 2 falls apart worse and worse the more you look at it.
Why the fuck did he need tentacles to..squish down solar flares...? Why did that require arms wired to your brain? Why did the tentacles need a sinister AI in order to do something that an automated system could do with sensors?

Why did Ock fucking throw a car at Peter!?!?!?!?

>Not going for the quiet character moments
Sure is summer around here

None of the Raimi films hold up at all to modern capeshit. Worse than some DC movies.

The car part made no sense.

Right? Because when you read a comic or watch a movie based around People With Powers you're totally gonna be cool with them NOT HAVING POWERS!

Broken powers are right up there with clones/evil twins and amnesia when it comes to hack writing 101.

My main problem is people who think Tobey was a good anything, he's not fun, not energetic and it feels like he hates being Spider Man, as an actor I mean, since he's an indie cuck, also his Peter is pretty much a caricature of what Peter was in the comics, he was a nerd but he's not the ultimate loser but since that's what Raimi was aiming for he was perfect for THAT
If you praise these movies for their writing and film making and supporting cast, which are all great, then good but don't tell me Tobey was a good Spider Man because he wasn't, and I don't care what shit you come up with to justify it, he's NOT Spider Man

How is that a bad point?

Because it adds nothing to the film, it isn't resolved in a satisfying way and it's just plain confusing.

>they aren't built with that kind of AI in mind

They literally were. That's why he made the inhibitor chip. He specifically states that the chip prevents his brainpower from being affected by the AI of the tentacles.

I think Otto was just crazy. Crazy people with super strenght do sutff like that.

yeah that was always a sore point for me.
As a kid I was confused as to why the robotic arms wanted to rob a bank

It's core to the story. It demonstrates the pressure that peter has put himself under. It's a very clear, simple allusion to stress causing depression, hair falling out and erectile dysfunction.

It allows us to see the happiness peter could have if he weren't spiderman, without having the character go against his core principles. It also adds weight to Peter's choice to be Spider-Man again, as it risks this happy life that he's gained since putting the costume down.

You may not like it, but you're ignoring the movie if you say it adds nothing.

Your second point doesn't follow. Him losing his powers because "lol ED" is totally divorced from any benefit the original Spider-Man No More storyline offered. If anything, the conflict of Pete having to choose between doing what he wants and doing what's right is more interesting than him being able to take a break from being Spider-Man because the script says so.

Peter literally saw a doctor in that movie to see what was wrong and the doc was all "It's in your head dummy because you're bottling up your emotions".

So he lets go of the thing that's forcing him to bottle everything up, but while he's a bit happier, he realizes he should be doing more (see that scene with the apartment fire).

When Ock steals MJ everything snaps into focus for Peter (Literally); he can't escape his responsibility as Spider-Man so he might as well make the most of it.

Watch the dang movie man.

Evil tentacles are lame but at least Molina sold them as just trying to get him to finish his work without any morals or humanity and Otto using them as an excuse to do whatever cause his waifu was dead.

I don’t like Ock’s origins in general (“evil tentacles corrupting nice Dr. Octavius” never sounds legit to me; like at least say the nanomachines he injected in himself to give himself direct control of the tentacles at a nerve and muscular level are causing it or something, not the tentacles themselves) but the movie’s interpretation holds up to the source.

No, stupid. In the comics Ock was legitimately brain damaged because of his accident, the tentacles corrupting him was entirely an invention of the film.

BUT THE PS4 GAME...

I fucking hate mcufags so damn much.

Just ignore them user they're just mad and afraid that their universe is about to come to an end. All the big name actors and actresses are leaving, they're making movies about literal nobodies like Shang Chi, and Stan (The Man) Lee is fucking dead now.
