Before I give my final verdict, I would like to speak directly to the writer of Female Furies

>Before I give my final verdict, I would like to speak directly to the writer of Female Furies.
>Cecil Castellucci, you are a magnificent story teller. Somehow, you manged to take Kirby’s world, which was obviously made in the early 70’s and make it fresh, new and timely. You took what he did, paid tribute to it and then wrote a six issue mini-series social commentary about it. You have done the world a service. As the father, I thank you for what you have done.
>My final verdict is that Female Furies will be nominated for multiple Eisner Awards. You, will want to be the person who read it before that happened. Buy the individual copies. Buy the TPB when it comes out. Support your local shop, but also, support the message of this amazing, ground breaking, and absolute perfect mini-series

To the shock of no one.

If this shit actually gets multiple Eisners I'll be pissed

Attached: clobbered.gif (480x360, 2.49M)

is this the comic where that grandma gave the teat to darkseid?

>As the father
Like clockwork. Fatherhood is the ultimate bluepill.

>Support
what an horrible brainwash message

>Females standing over big bad darkseid

Is that what this is all about? Just another GO GIRL U SO BRAVE AND STRONG AND FIERCE AND POWERFUL AND A WARRIOR moments?

It's basically Mad Max Fury Road where Big Barda is Furiosa and the Female Furies are Immortan Joe/Darkseid's brides.

Attached: Female Furies 006-022.jpg (1988x3056, 1.28M)

He kinda Weinstein’d her, yeah

Oh so it's typical "bad guy females aren't bad because females aren't allowed to be portrayed as bad or wrong" Why the fuck would a literal Hellhole of Apokolips fucking care about equality? All are maggots compared to DARKSEID. Nothing is equal to DARKSEID.

Acton Comics by Bendis is unironically better.

They're literally called the female furies user.

Yeah but FIERCE and FURY are two different things. Fury is real FIERCE Is a meme.

>Writing a followup to an old children's book that still operates within the confines of the established fiction, but tacks on modern political duscourse.
>"Doing the world a service"
Seems a bit much.

I loved the part when the planet was exploding, and the FF and Barda decided to save only women. Or when we found out that darkside was always a weak coward, that will run away at the sight of strong women.

The book is beyond horrible or bad. It so bad, it probably deservs a separate tier of bad. A Castelluci tier.

Why? You should've learned Eisners are shit a decade ago.

My sisters daughter , "wrote" and draw a better story book about a magical princes squad then her. And she is 5.

so...does Stompa finally fet some characterization or is she still a dumb brute?

>Buy the individual copies. Buy the TPB when it comes out.
No

all the eisner winners of the last 10 years have been nothing but sjw and feminist shit
it´s a completely useless title at this point

besides politics, why else were the recent winners bad?

wouldn´t suprise me that among all the comics which feature the female furies this is the lowest selling one

Stop looking at only the Best Writer/Best Artist/Best Series awards, you absolute pleb. The A-list awards are trash, but the minor awards still shine a spotlight on less-popular content that deserves more recognition.

Why? Chelsea Cain had both her comics nominated.

why does everything have to be the same feminist shit these days?
are liberally really so brainwashed by their own propaganda that they can´t come up with anything new?

>besides politics
how about no

Define "everything".

>but the minor awards still shine a spotlight on less-popular content that deserves more recognition
If you're interested in those categories then you won't find anything new, if anything you'll see the winners are still bogus and better stuff doesnt even get nominated.

cna liberlas even be called humans at this point?
they no longer understand such ideas like logic based arguments and consider free speech as a form of violence.
they try to deny basic kindergarten biology and even the way the they talk is alien to normal people

Attached: you may touch me.jpg (1988x3056, 1.19M)

every comic, every game, every movie, every tv show these days
they all got the same message of "white men = bad" and "women > men"
i honestly can´t tell you the last time when a white male character was potrayed as smarter, stronger, faster or better then a female one. heck even in arguments the white men are always in the wrong and the women in the right.
white male super heroes these days get saved by their gf not wise versa.

Nothing will ever be perfect. The minor awards might not be rewarding the "best" content, but they're still rewarding "good" content. If even one person picks up a good comic because they heard it won an award, I consider it a worthwhile endeavor. It's a bad idea to write off the whole entire thing just because the A-list winners are "bad".

>bad guy females aren't bad because females aren't allowed to be portrayed as bad or wrong"
Jack Kirby redeemed the female furies too.

Did Kirby also have the Furies take control over Apokolips as yas kweens?

>i honestly can´t tell you the last time when a white male character was potrayed as smarter, stronger, faster or better then a female one.
Batman and Superman are the smartest, strongest, fastest and best.

Female Furies is noteworthy for being one specific title which is especially bad, isn't it? Then doesn't it stand to reason that the rest of DC's output is better than Female Furies?

And protip: You'll find a wider variety of comics once you start reading outside of only two publishers and one genre.

Everything, i.e. everything that triggers me.

So much for men being men when they cry like little girls about how oppressed they are every time they see fictional entertainment depicting women not being inferior to men.

>>Cecil Castellucci, you are a magnificent story teller. Somehow, you manged to take Kirby’s world, which was obviously made in the early 70’s and make it fresh, new and timely. You took what he did, paid tribute to it and then wrote a six issue mini-series social commentary about it.
The original had plenty of social commentary about it, except Kirby knew that the strength of the world he had created was metaphor, absurdist, "super".
The way problems are handled in Female Furies lack that Kirbyian take on storytelling. The social issues presented in "Female Furies" are not metaphors for a greater, conceptual problem.
There isn't an Ur-Toxic Male, there is just toxic masculinity.
Compare and contrast to Darkseid's take on fascism, of being a cunning and cruel despot.
There is a worldly, forever message with the original thanks to it being larger than life. Can you say the same for Female Furies?

Kirby couldn't do grounded, especially when he was the writer.

>Batman and Superman are the smartest, strongest, fastest and best.
Only to someone like you who hasn't read any comics lately. Batman under King's hand is inept, immature, incapable of overcoming his grief in regards to getting romantically rejected by the far superior Selina Kyle. Superman was unable to stop his father from taking away his own son, and his own wife kept herself hidden away from him for whatever goddamn reason. Supergirl is defeating Superman's villains now.

Female Furies is noteworthy for being one specific title which is especially bad, isn't it?
No. Female Furies is exceptionally bad, but it's not the only example. Every modern Vertigo book is at that same level of shit. Batgirl and Supergirl were prime Marvel tier quality for a long time, and they never really recovered. You can find many other isolated incidents at DC, but Marvel is still leading the charge.

Fucking Squirrel Girl and Tumblrjanes already won, the Eisners have been dead for a while.

I agree!
Which is my point, really. He couldn't do grounded, so he reached for the stars. He played for his strengths and it shows.

And what about the dozens of people who avoid good books that won awards because the major ones make it apparent that they mean nothing.

>Batman and Superman are the smartest, strongest, fastest and best.
and yet the regularly get outsmarted and defeated by women like catwoman
seriously user
post a few recent examples of male heroes being portrayed as smarter or better then a female one. I will wait. you won´t find anything

>is at that same level of shit
no

who says about crying
I just refuse to pay for the same shit over and over again which is why sales are in the toilet.
I always find it funny that feminists and sjws turned the modern comic book industry into the sexist and racist place they always claimed it to be.
back in the day comics had postive male and female heroes.
but nowadays like I said all the white male heroes get written as idiots and losers for sjw/feminist reasons

>Female Furies is noteworthy for being one specific title which is especially bad, isn't it? Then doesn't it stand to reason that the rest of DC's output is better than Female Furies?
>And protip: You'll find a wider variety of comics once you start reading outside of only two publishers and one genre.
Yea Forumsmblr delusion will never stop shocking me. you guys just refuse to admit how much sjws have ruined this industry

Kinda. The female furies helped Barda attack section zero to save Scott free.

I thought this was a prequal series from before when Barda and Scott flew the coop. Does Darkseid and a million parademons show up in the next page to restore Apokolips to horrible, horrible order?

Who wrote this review?

Was this page written by a robot?

I don't think anyone avoids books just because they won an award. That level of contrarianism doesn't exist outside of Yea Forums shitposts.

that's a rescue mission not taking over a planet

people do when they know the award means shit
for instance I know to avoid anything with the golden x award

She's purely shit-tier and only gets buy because she has a vag.

Was it just me or did this comic had a bunch of lewd shit, like I get the feeling Castelluci gets some jollies from this. I know of some women who love the Handmaid's Tale because they get wet by the whole being treated as sexond class and breeding slaves (just look at those Ao3 fics) and Castelluci wanted to do a Handmaid's Tale story more than she wanted to do a New Gods story. Not to mention some of the rape stuff and sexism was treated as being awful while other stuff was played for laughs or brushed off and the scenes where incredibly sexual, at least with whatever Castelluci could get away with in a DC comic.

Heck just look at some of the stuff in her Shade comics and the Milk wars tie-in, this woman just likes to write about her fetishes. I wouldn't put it past her having Killer moth in her Batgirl run start feeling Barbara up while fighting and them Barbara pushing him off, knocking him out, and strattling him while she ties him up, then trying to make it into a feminist statement to cover it up.

Can she just tell him to help her look for the tracker while also touching around herself? That gives the indication that he has permission to touch her and it would feel natural.

That is what he just said.

You can't come with anything new either, yelling about the big bad sjw for years now...

nigga that's because they have ruined everything

or maybe we should stop acting like women are made out of glass and assume that touching them without first filling out some formular isn´t going to lead to the end of the world.
if modern women really are so weak that they need to be asked about anything, even when it comes to situation of life and death like in the comic then they really should be locked up in a kitchen. the real world simply is to dangerous for them

Most women (and men) if they don't want to be touched will just tell you no or to get off them. If they do want to be touch they'll just let you when you touch them or touch back or give an indication which is what normal people do. It'scalled reading social cues. Unless someone is abusing them and they are afraid of them but the person doing thay will obviously know and won't care at that point. But

>if modern women really are so weak that they need to be asked about anything, even when it comes to situation of life and death like in the comic then they really should be locked up in a kitchen. the real world simply is to dangerous for them
I know you used kitchen cause you're mad but that's a horrible idea since kitchens have knives and all sorts of things that can kill a person. At least say a bedroom or a basement.

Furies are female by definition

Liberals were the ones that created the comicbooks in the 60's and 70's, so i agree with you to stop calling humans.

liberals in the 60's and 70's are a lot different from modern liberals

Does the story get any better after the first two issues? I read them in story time threads and they were pretty fucking bad. Something felt off about all the characters. Like I think Granny Goodness was supposed to be a nuanced, “People who get abused can be bad too” take, but I never really got the feeling of her being especially bad. I mean she ran an orphanage where she brainwashed and groomed kids to be slaves for Darkseid and it felt like they just brushed over that to show her sending the leader for personal training with some guy that gropes her. It’s bad too, but is it really as heinous as grooming orphans?

because nothing has actually stood out in terms of what they do that's unique to comics as a visual medium that would warrant the importance
can you name any of the more recent winners off the top of your head that actually do this that weren't dogshit like Mockingbird?

Attached: 1560357284924.jpg (480x480, 21K)

not that user but I've seen this with movies at the very least, whenever they win some award and it rubs people the wrong way they're less likely to actually want to watch it

except Fury Road was good
also
>ripping off another story because you lack any creativity
I fucking hate comics

most of the creative writers either left or stopped caring

>DC us #metoo-ing Darkseid
Yes. Being Space-Hitler wasn't bad enough. Now he has to be Space-Weinstein. NOW he's really evil.

Are there any good Barda-Scott moments? Because that's what I'm interested in.

it's written by a sjw so I doubt it

>Abloobloobloo the librul touched me and now I feel funny.

Menstrual shed is the place for the unclean

It's like if Armond White gave a movie a good review. Anyone who's aware of his status of troll reviewer will be less likely to actually want to give it a watch.
