It's Kraven
It's Kraven
>if it were completely up to him
Besides, the thing about Kraven is that he doesn't believe Spider-Man is a man but an animal, and that shit doesn't work if everybody already knows he's a kid in high school.
Gonna bang the drum until it happens that Kraven needs to be the villain of a Marvel Team Up movie with Spidey and Shuri. That scene with Mysterio on the rooftop in Prague made me want Peter to have some hero friends his age
its going to be Scorpion
everything makes perfect sense to do it
Gargan has an axe to grind with Spidey
Jameson is now on Spidey's case too
and now the can fully give Scorpion the anti Spider-man mantle back now that Venom is in his own universe doing things
Sony are already doing a Kraven movie for their own knockoff MCU.
They were doing a Mysterio movie which got canned and even an Aunt May prequel (WHY) which also got canned, hopefully this does too
>even an Aunt May prequel (WHY)
The emails showed it was never on the table but it was pretty funny.
I wonder if Jon is as clueless as he makes it out to be
Would be cool to see them using him as it could turn out watchable, but a solo movie? Ehhhh
I'd actually watch it if it had Kraven.
Kraven is actually the best villain for Spider-Man.
That doesn’t disprove Kraven still isn’t happening on Sony’s end
>We got Hydro-Man and Molten Man in there
Why does this faggot keep insisting on this shit? It's like Nolan saying "Yeah, that scene where Joker set the pile of money on fire, we're really happy to bring Firefly to a movie"
Yeah the pieces line up too well for Scorpion. I'll be shocked if they do someone else.
To be fair, the elementals are called like that.
Because that’s the closest you’ll ever get to them because both are complete shit
I don't give a hoot about these characters, just don't piss on my head and tell me it's raining.
The problem with Kraven is that he's not visually interesting enough for a big budget movie.
Same could be said for Bucky yet Winter Soldier exists. Just have Kraven kidnap Peter and dump him in a jungle for the hunt, there are your visuals for the movie to stand out. Spider-Man No Road Back Home or whatever.
Also the right time to bring in Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. Hell throw in Doc Ock and start a Sinister Six since Vulture and Shocker are already set and [FFH Spoilers] Mysterio's death can easily be an illusion if they wanted to asspull it
>and now the can fully give Scorpion the anti Spider-man mantle back now that Venom is in his own universe doing things
They seem set on bringing Venom to the MCU now so the third Spidey film would likely be Spidey and Venom teaming up against Scorpion.
Those were pre Venom plans. Both Kraven and Morbius were announced after Venom was a box office hit. And Morbius is filming right now.
Kraven is next on Sony's slate.
Kraven should be kept for the next Black Panther movie. He's a villain that could easily be around for a while in MCU movies, no problems. But I'd rather see him introduced in Black Panther then in Spider-Man, mainly because Black Panther really doesn't have the best cast of villains.
To be honest, i don't see them doing Kraven because trilogies are all about escalating, and Kraven seems like type of guy MCU Peter would fight in the first or second movie.
>They seem set on bringing Venom to the MCU now
Except they don't. They've been non committal in their response. Fiege talk qbout a Venom crossover the same way he talked about the Netflix Marvel characters showing up in the mcu, which was clearly bullshit in retrospect. And Sony just want Holland in their movies.
If venom shows up un q Spider-man movie it won't be the same one in Sony's movies. Hell i bet itll be one of the non Venom/Carnage symbiote knockoffs and they won't even mention Venom or Eddy Brock by name.
>Kraven should be kept for the next Black Panther movie.
Instead, they're reusing that excuse for Killmonger in the second movie for whatever reason. Kraven would probably not get any spotlights.
I appreciate Sony's position in wanting to compete with Marvel while also walking the delicate tightrope of taking hand outs from them, but making movies for every Spiderman villain is the dumbest idea in history even by Sony's standards.
Who the fuck is going to watch a Morbius movie starring Jared Leto.
I was about to post "Good, just skip straight to superior Agent Venom then" but then I remembered about MCU Flash...
>but making movies for every Spiderman villain is the dumbest idea in history even by Sony's standards
I mean, it's not like the actual Spider-Man movies are worth it, so might as well. I just wish Sony would get proper Jonah back on their movies.
Didn't the BP director want to use him?
Could be both desu.
>Everyone is trying to collect the bounty on Pete's head
>Jameson helps fund Scorpion early on, like first act early
>He goes bad and now they've got two problems
>an Oscorp subsidiary led by Otto Octavius is the one that created Scorpion
>Norman fires Otto and sends in a professional to control the situation (i.e. Kraven)
>now it's Kraven vs Scorpion vs Spidey
>but Kraven full on admits he does what he does for the thrill of the hunt, Osborn just pays him for doing what he'd do anyway
>He and Scorpion team up
>Spidey beats them, post credits is them sitting in jail before a guard walks up and brings them dinner
>they look at the guard
>It's Quentin Beck
That's an awful lot of villains there, user. But I'm sure it's fine, it worked well for Spider-Man 3 and Amazing 2.
thats the point isnt it. sony is obsessed with the sinister six and are building up to it.
by the way i HATE kraven. i literally dont understand why anybody likes him. and i could admit characters i dont like may be liked by others for different reasons, but not kraven.
hes just awful. hes boring. he frequently has the upper hand, somehow, but fucks himself over by trying to "hunt" spiderman. i doubt he ever hunted down and tranqed a rhino just to put the rhino in an escape room slowly filling with gas as he takes pot shots with his rifle a mile away. thats not even hunting at that point. he won when he knocked out spiderman but thats never enough.
hes just stupid and boring and i feel that despite the loudness of the faggots here, no one really likes kraven all that much in the real world. and that brings me solace
The idea is that you get Scorpion and Kraven the same way you had Vulture and Shocker in Homecoming.
Otto and Norman are basically background characters assuming they physically appear at all and Beck is just for the post credits.
Efficiency of characters means we have it basically all set to move on to the Sinister Six led by Otto for the next movie.
>Even if they are fake
>Raimi's sandman was better
>The worst one in the pldold trilogy did things better than the best one in the new trilogy
Yikes
Venom is the best villain for a Spider-Man movie because you can then make it more about the characters and their world vs endless action scenes. Kraven is only second to that though, especially if you understand the character.
It worked in Homecoming and far from home though-- they used the shocker and mysterio had his team.
So long as you portray one of them as little more than a mook and keep the focus on a single one as the "real" villain (Like scorpion is just a thug like the shocker wasn't the real boss, while kraven has all the focus) it can work.
I don't deny that having multiple "Big" villains is a trainwreck, but you can do it if you downgrade all but one. And scorpion has a long history of being an incompetent joke.
The idea of Kraven is what's cool. The concept of a normal ass guy being like "fuck your superpowers" and getting the best of Spider-Man with nothing more than a net and a bowie knife is based.
It's just he only works when he's either doing the "I don't need no knife, I'M GONNA KILLYOUNOW" shit or injecting himself with gene therapy to he the ultimate predator.
When he's just "bearded man with rifle" he's boring as fuck and the classic "put him in an African death trap" version literally only works in a suitably corny setting.
To be fair, the problem wasn't the quantity, it was the quality.
>The worst one in the pldold trilogy
I thought Venom was the worst.
>And scorpion has a long history of being an incompetent joke.
I appreciate the PS4 game for actually making him a threat.
Were I making the movie, I'd make Scorpion the focus of most of the action the same way the Elementals worked in FFH, while giving Kraven plenty of scenes to develop his character. Because as much as I love Scorpion, he's got way less going on character wise than Kraven.
Put Kraven in one action scene where it's a three-day fight between him Spidey and Scorps, then put him in maybe one or two more after they team up.
Scorpion is the muscle while Kraven mainly plans. Then when Scorpion is defeated Kraven can take the title of defacto physical threat of the story.
Legally I don't think Marvel gets Kraven? I thought he was part of the package deal Sony had with using Venom, Carnage, Morbius, and Silver Sable?
Quality is tied to quantity though due to limited screen time. if you don't have time to develop a character they end up weakened as a result, and without a full movie to revolve around a villain they end up half assed.
Because Sandman and venom are very, very good source characters to pull from, so the issue was the movie developing and presenting them.
Venom sucked because his bits went to Harry. Venom was only put into the movie due to studio interference really.
No. Sony stil has all the movie rights to every Spider-man character. They get the final say in which soidey characters gets to show up in the mcu movies despite everyone thinking the opposite. Sony and Disney have to come to a consensus on who will show up in the next Spider-man movie than they proceed to actually make the thing.
You can do that with other Spider-Man villains though, like Green Goblin, Lizard, Jackal
>Vulture
>Shocker
>Mysterio
>Kraven
>Scorpion
>Ock
Not a bad line-up for sinister six, got 4/6 original members
in 3 it was shit because venom was so far removed from everything else
in amazing 2 it was shit because every villain was doing other shit
if all the villains are in kahoots it can do fine
i honestly wonder if the MCU will give Sandman a shot one day
>The concept of a normal ass guy being like "fuck your superpowers" and getting the best of Spider-Man with nothing more than a net and a bowie knife is based
i understand that this is appealing, but kraven doesnt have the charm to pull it off in my opinion. i have never seen a version of kraven that i ever rooted for, and i like under dogs.
i think hes dull and his brand of evil and malice isnt worth supporting. i think especially that concept doesnt at all mesh with spiderman. i dont think i would ever like him, for the reasons stated, but i think i wouldnt hate him if he was someone elses villain. spiderman is not the guy you go after to prove you dont need powers to kick ass. spiderman is a nice guy. hes only trying to help and being the target of a righteous 1up simply is no good because he learnt his lesson when ben died. hes not cocky and up his own ass anymore and doesnt deserve the punishment kraven dishes out.
someone said he should be a black panther villain, and if he went after black panther that would be just fine since hes an asshole and could use a lesson in humility. maybe not so much mcu bp but still better than mcu spiderman
i wish scorpion was more of a threat. isnt his skillset literally almost exactly the same as spidermans since he was flavor blasted with tangy fiesta cheddar scorpions? he can stick to walls and doesnt he occasionally also posses a spider sense?
his role should be a stronger armored spiderman sans webs whos mentally unstable from the fucked experiment
they did name drop hydroman and his origins. in the movie the story was that the illusions were elementals, not people. so there SHOULD be a hydroman walking around in the mcu. he could take his place
“Kray-ven” or “Krav-en”?
what kind of stupid asshole pronounces it as krav-en?
its like asking, "spider-man" or "spid-erman". theres only one fucking way to say it
i occasionally say spidderman for fun
Not really, a lot of movies nowadays suffer because they focus so much on explaining the villain instead of giving the main character and supporting cast enough screen time. A lot of movie villains were classics, despite (or maybe because) they were just plain evil and wanted something.
And one thing people HATED about Sandman was the whole Uncle Ben retcon and the story that derived from it.
We already have Aaron and Gargan since Homecoming, right? Since MCU Spidey took some inspiration from Miles' run, have Aaron turn into Prowler and then team up with him to take down Scorpion. And then 1-on-1 fight between Peter and Aaron, but don't kill him off in case they want to use Miles in the future.
>made me want Peter to have some hero friends his age
maybe with the X-Men back with Marvel we'll get Iceman and Firestar for Spidey's Amazing Friends.
he would be a good threat for Black Panther. Introduce him there in a sequel for BP before bringing him over to Spiderman.
>spidey and venom teaming up
no I want them to fight. this spiderman needs a villain to actually go toe to toe with in hand to hand and get his ass whooped
Venom will come after Marvel does their own version of secret wars and they get the rights for venom back from Sony.
>"How do you do Kraven in a movie?"
The way he's done in everything else?
Kravens gonna be black (wakandan) and im ok with that
I dunno, man. I think the best way to go with a Black Panther sequel would be Achebe or Madam Slay and sound-zombie Klaw, and then have the third movie be Black Panther vs Namor. I can't think of a good way to introduce Kraven as an ongoing threat; he pretty much has to be summarily defeated in his debut movie.
Well, it's "Krav-in-off".
I don't know anything about this character other than people love him, why is that
