Amphibia S01E12 - Croak & Punishment; Trip to the Archives
>When Sprig's Blue Moon Shell is stolen, he and Anne investigate to find the crook. >To prepare for Anne's quest, the Plantars go to the archives and accidentally get trapped.
It’s really good. It’s about a teen stuck in frog town\world. She is pretty charming and the world building is great so far
Jacob Davis
I can't believe I'm saying this, but this show is coming out too fast. I can't keep track of it all.
Bentley Long
Bam meganon.
Jaxon Jackson
>22 minutes, 4 days a week sounds like you need to quit your job, man just kidding but isn't it wonderful that in our modern digital age you can catch up any time? the episodes are always waiting for you
Adam Perez
Think the frogs of Wartwood would be disgusted at the idea of Asui Tsuyu?
i was hoping they'd actually share some information about the mountains in the friggin' research episode. for some reason none of them thought to read a book on the mountains in particular
No shipping shits or SJW propaganda so far. Characters are interesting and have good dynamics. I pretty enjoy it besides Tangled in the current Disney shows. Hopefully it keeps its pace as originally planned and doesn't go wrong like Star vs.
Jaxson Lopez
8. Not the best but I thought they were fine.
Juan Taylor
Yeah, the presence of something worse doesn't make a bad thing better. Episodes should be weekly. It makes the hiatus more bearable.
Dominic Cook
SJW propaganda just means things that personally piss you off. Some people would consider having a brown female protagonist SJW propaganda.
They’ve gone on plenty. Oh wait you meant when do they go on a road trip didn’t you.
Nathaniel Butler
They did, early threads when it was revealed Anne was Thai had a bunch of anons crying about her being Thai, thankfully it seems the all migrated to Owl House threads because the potential for crying about shit is greater there.
Joseph Edwards
>No SJW propaganda so far
Matt's identity politics (MUH TIELAND HERITAGE) is a different breed of SJW propaganda
David Edwards
Yeah but it doesn’t come up in the show
Jack Evans
I honestly thought they were all gonna lose track of time.
Also, how mad is Anne going to be when she finds out Hop Pop didn't tell her about the book entry about the music box?
I honestly I liked a lot those however most of you were expected some serious thing in archive episode. I love this scene.
Dylan Price
Agreed. I actually liked seeing Sprig fuck up. I was worried he would be sweet and blameless forever
Levi Brooks
He's not saying it is. Only that this is where most people throw a shitfit. Making the whole idea of SJW fucking meaningless, because it can be stretched to fit anyone's idea of "too far."
Nolan Baker
i assume hop pop has a reason for guiding her through the mountains - she might meet up with the wise salamander people and meet up with marcy there
Liam Fisher
So just existing and having a nationality is enough to ooze SJW propaganda? Damn that's a new level of paranoia...
>plot happens in one week in-universe how many episodes is that
Camden Wright
The Archive episode felt super pointless.
Brody Reed
she would play Super Mario Odyssey and you know it
Logan Wood
That's what anti-sjws have always been about. Complaining about liberals pushing the boundaries of what's acceptable/not acceptable, so that they can do it themselves.
Luis Lopez
Did Anne go barefoot?
Easton Harris
Its not a different breed of sjw user... But your a different breed of retarded
Dominic White
it was a PSA for reading books at your local library
I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I was hoping we'd actually learn about the mountains or at least more about the dangers of Amphibia. I mean I guess we'll learn more when we actually get to the mountains and along the way, but damn. Still, not a bad episode at all.
Lincoln Evans
Is there a map of the valley? I have no clue where these fucks are going or where they are even located
I thought it was fine. It showed a different side of Anne and how she can be serious when she wants/needs to be
Logan Mitchell
That fucking blob that eats the shark has always terrified me. The fact that something so big that it can swallow something like that whole can actually exist is fucking nightmare fuel.
I'm enjoying the show a lot. I loved these episodes. But right now I think what some anons don't like is the fact Amphibia is focused more in filler episodes than lore ones. This season seems more like the introduction and exploring the characters and a preparation for season 2 where it's going to focus more in lore it seems.
Ivy is a LOCK for the most adorable girl. I don't know why but the voice actor makes the character seem totally cute. Maybe I am used to obnoxious women voice actors.
Nathaniel Bennett
More like TV is a bad influence on Sprig. On any creature in that world, honestly. Remember Suspicion Island and Hop Pop? Who even knows the damage done on the psyche of those poor frogs psyche caused by Moovy Night.
Huh really, Izzy voice actress? She sounds more adorable in Total dramarama
Carson Mitchell
It's probably the same tea as the hallucination episode. She's literally getting high as fuck because she knows she's about to shovel snail shit all morning so might as well be tripping balls while doing so.
I think they're gonna make the lore as generic as possible, since other shows have done it before. >blagh blah magic box >blah blah big prophecy The heart of the show is gonna be the towny episodes and character interactions. Toads will be a threat, but that arc will focus on Sasha seeing a dark reflection of herself in Grimes and learning to be a better person.
I was discussing this on Friday on the thread about dying Cable.
I don't know why they do this or think is a good idea, back in my day we had one or two episodes every Friday so series seemed to go on for a good part of the year. I know the ratings are pretty bad for new shows nowadays but I doubt stuff like She-Ra or let's say Dreamworks cartoons are doing better, in fact most kids are just watching pirated Anime if they watch anything at all that is not Youtube or Instagram shit.
Isaac Gray
Cant believe Ivy has left me BLUE BALLED.
Jason Perry
probably because they pitched the voices up
>She's literally getting high as fuck because she knows she's about to shovel snail shit all morning just when this show couldn't get comfier
pretty good episodes. can't believe there's only two weeks left. feels like the show premiered just yesterday.
Isaac Lee
Okay, something has been jangling around in my head for a bit. Anne is actually fairly strong compared to the frogs, right? Like she can do a lot of the labor intensive stuff that adult frogs can, right? Where would that put an adult human male in comparison?
Wyatt Foster
>The heart of the show is gonna be the towny episodes and character interactions And that's good well at least for me. What do you really prefer? Gravity falls had DEEPEST LORE. Star got Shipping to extreme. Steven got talking-nojutsu. At least I hope this show get a different flavor than those however this show is comfy as fuck, I admit I really hate shipping When doing in excess.
Parker Bennett
Not a fan, but I do like poly taking Sprig's hat.
Nathaniel Morris
did anything plot related happen in these episodes - I like the simple character-driven stories, but sometimes they feel a little too plain when you think about the setting the show takes place in. i feel like they spend a little too much time focusing on the Plantar family and their interactions with Anne in their town and not enough time on the more fantastical/lorey aspects of the world. not trying to complain though it’s a really fun and good show so far
Ryder Brown
Seems to me that the recent episode was telling us that the series has reached the point where it will start moving away from SoL and into more adventure tropes. Which is sad, the SoL was my favorite part. I'd expect season 2 to be exploring the valley outside of Wartwood and eventually the rest of the island.
Jack Sanchez
>did anything plot related happen in these episodes the shell is building up for sprigg's menage-à-trois drama episode the library is a clear indication that there will be travel in the show, and Anne is actually working on he return, which kind of explain how she isn't as selfish and stupid in recent episodes as she was in the start. "stupid monster attack of the week" might become less frequent now that she knows about them more.
Bentley Bennett
the town is likely to stay they base were they come back at the end of each travel. when the mountain path clears up, I'm expecting small episodes like "hey there's a legend there, let's check" and they go and return at the end. I would have preferred a single long odyssey trip, but the show cast definitely imply the village stays
Nicholas Ward
Monsters of the week will be shown less. There's gonna be tons of off-screen monster fights
Xavier Martin
It seems in a week the mountains will clear
Adrian Moore
that week could be tomorrow if they planned the show as weekly episodes to begin with. we don't really assume all episodes happen back to back in their life, there's empty days too.
Matthew Davis
I dunno, I swear they've been airing them out of order.
Christian Allen
Is there a better quality rip yet? Mega link in OP has a super choppy framerate.
Jace Perez
doesn't feel like it, so far details like Anne's being able to drive, or sprig romance are in the right order. It's mostly those 2-3 "filler" episodes here and there that feel out of the loop, but it's more likely to be about production order than plot order.
Dominic Lopez
Anne does seem like the "dumb one" between her old friends. She gained manipulative habits from Sasha, but backtracks and somewhat oblivious.
Alexander Howard
They get added to the folder at random times, at least several hours after the temp one.
Cooper Jones
And then you read the description for the upcoming episodes, and realise that they will either stay in Wartwood or keep returning to it
I expect the toads to be blocking the way they first wanted to use, forcing several episodes to try "another route" based on books secrets and all. Also learning about Sasha might change the plans, I can' see Anne wanting to leave without her friends, she's too dependent and likely to abandon a valid chance if she's alone to do it.
Juan Rodriguez
CICADAS DON'T HAVE MANDIBLES FUCKING DROPPED
Ayden Barnes
>I admit I really hate shipping When doing in excess Same. Shipping is fun until people take it seriously.
Levi Rogers
What if Anne wasn't frog Isekai'd but she's just autistic and the whole adventure is in her mind?
Well this confirms he's their grandfather. I'm surprised the family shrub episode didn't bring up Sprig and Polly's parentage. Maybe for a later episode.
Anthony Murphy
Plantar & seed & feed & Chuck
Chase Lopez
How else would you see something that grotesque? Remember: Anne can conceive talking frogs acting like people, but the Frogs could never have conceived of something like a human.
Camden Nguyen
is there rape fanfiction already?
Caleb Young
One character who you think would be a mean girl cliche has a surprising amount of depth with just one episode appearance, so there's that.
Plus, the main character of Anne is funny, flawed, and her relationship with the frog town us actually an important part if the story (and her survival).
Plus, they've just now tipped into the more ominous lore of the show.
Really shocked that I like a show about talking frogs this much.
Christian Ward
How did Sasha end up with two Asian friends to queen around?
Camden Harris
The girl has a type and she went for it. And she's maxed her CHA stat so there's no way they could resist her.
Sebastian Clark
Charisma builds are either garbage or completely broken, no middle ground
Elijah Miller
>or SJW propaganda so far. Just wait until the ORANGE TOAD BAD episode where its revealed the mayor only gets elected because of the winter bear people.
Thomas Flores
>human formerly scarecrow
Andrew Rodriguez
>Living rent free in your head
Gabriel Jones
>reeeeeee don't make fun of how stupid we act, it's YOU rightists who are butthurt!!!
think they looked up her skirt in the archives ep?
Justin Murphy
frogs don't have visible anything down there so they probably don't get very prudish about it outside of fashion. I could see them being more curious about tits since they kinda look like warts and that's their trigger
Adam Cox
wat?
Jose Gray
max CHR and persuasion plus Yellow fever
Ian Allen
When Hop Pop finds out humans can produce milk, he'll want to expand into dairy.
He's no longer a tadpole, like Polly, but he hasn't yet developed into the standard frog body shape. I'd put him at a few years younger than Anne, possibly only one year younger.
It was the first time anne has ever scolded sprig. In like 20 eps
Lincoln King
Is this a fetish?
Angel Allen
>show created by an Asian dude >makes an Asian chick >an Asian person acknowledging where they come from and not being a washed up Burger is somehow supposed to be progressivism
>References in internet message boards >Anne is a manga reading weeb >Sprig looks like Kermit the frog for a moment It's only a matter of time before we get a pepe reference now
Well, Sprig does take after his mad scientist ancestor.
Luis Hill
It's not FUCKING FAIR, Yea Forums!!!!!!!!!!! No one draws any artwork of Ivy, everyone only cares about Maddie! FFFFUUCCCCKK!!! It's too late to become a Madchad.... I guess there is only one way out of this living hell... Farewell..
That "lube" is toxic, judging by their bright colors.
Henry Russell
Ann seems fine after about a month.
Landon Martinez
The blob is actually another kind of shark called an angelshark, and the shark it eats is called a horn shark, which is a very small species, only like 2-3 feet long. The Angelsharks themselves only get like 5 feet long.
Kevin Martinez
The next episode is about winter, how is that supposed to work chronology-wise? Unless that snowfall isn't natural.
Hudson Butler
Or hallucinogenic.
Josiah Wright
Maybe their seasons work differently
Leo Peterson
It refers to snap cold, I think. So it's a freak weather. Something like this happens sometimes.
Anthony Thompson
I expect some sort of frost breathing beast to be the cause.
Brandon Morgan
can't some frogs actually freeze alive?
Owen Bailey
Some, probably the main cast frogs.
Landon Campbell
>noots happily in the distance
Jose Smith
i meant real frogs, in the real world
Aiden Gray
Yeah, there is one species that freezes. This world they've shown doesn't have traditional frog species. I assume they'll take the freezing trait, and give it to who ever it's convenient for.
Dominic Ortiz
So how long do we have until there's no new episodes and we die?
Michael Reyes
>This world they've shown doesn't have traditional frog species I liked Hulk-frog.
Bentley Reed
Yes. There are some types of animals, including certain species of frogs, that have special blood that remains liquid past the usual freezing point. This allows it's heart to continue pumping blood even though the rest of the body is frozen. youtu.be/CraGaGFnMDs
cute user, I think it would be better if the trumpet would be visible in the last picture
David Powell
That would be perfect request fodder if there was one less guy. Anne smoking. Sprig harassing. The woman can be anyone, really.
Ayden Murphy
I saw that vuvuzela joke coming before I heard it. And I'm still glad they did it.
Jayden Foster
Naw my fault. Joked works in my head
Around 2nd season episode 5 the show will go on hiatus then get cancelled thus being no more episodes.
Julian Lewis
I like how she's actually quite girly. Not that it would stop weebs from shoehorning her into this tired abusive tsundere bitch archetype for no reason.
Jordan Lee
>falling for the infomercial meme You did this to yourself, user
They specifically said a mountain pass, did they not? Some places on Earth you can hike straight from steaming tropical jungle up into temperate sub-alpine forest.
Carson Hughes
How does Sprig not know what a cop is? We just saw him get jumped by the fuzz a few episodes ago.
Justin Myers
It was worth it.
Joseph Ortiz
Different name, same thing. It's not that complicated. He's more fucked now, since he thinks Cops are just what Anne showed him.
David Clark
>Hop-pop it's the Fuzz! Is what he called them. Also that scene get an audible chuckle out of me.
Well at least she doesn't have a big cheek like all the other so-called CalArts styles. She's simply just round headed, what a relief. If she were shaved bald, wouldn't she just be a melon head.
Asher Hernandez
Would those cicadas, which are basically wild cattle, immediately go for the kill at something that they are literally seeing and smelling for the first time?
Maddie appeared and was presented as a potential romantic partner for Sprig several episodes before Ivy appeared, so it's probably just a matter of her being around longer.
Yeah, I saw that, which it's good I love those two episodes. But it seems people prefer Sasha than Anne. We will see how everything will go in The Reunion.
Nathaniel Cooper
Air bladders
Thomas Martin
I got a Pepper Ann vibe the very first time I saw it. And no, not because of the names.
She's managed not to get killed in a world where advanced predators have no real deterrent against them.
Nathan Foster
That was the best set of episodes by far. Great pacing and the humor felt really on point.
Lucas White
bruh, Sasha was a prisioner from the start yet it's implied guards treat her like a princess. Right now Sasha is the second in command of the entire Toat Army. Sasha isn't lucky, she makes her own luck.
Isaac Collins
Australia?
Samuel Butler
has he seen the show? i want them frogs in his style
Tyler Stewart
I think that a was just toad tax/ prison break
Charles Reyes
Because they watch too much anime and can't accept that some characters don't follow a trope to the t.
Jacob Ross
Because the show is only alright
Ryan Sullivan
More like whatever world Monster Hunter is set in, which makes me wonder why there aren't any professional monster hunters to ward off the super predators. Beetle shell would make some great armor.
Everything is CalArts if you try hard enough. Such word has no power today.
Gabriel Kelly
He is Hulk in the frog world.
Luis James
Apparently, he comes from a race of hulk frogs.
Adam Smith
Now I wanna see a bullfrog cuck Sprig
Hunter Martin
>being proud of your cultural heritage >SJW Damn it's like /pol/ can't make up their minds nowdays
Noah Anderson
Look who you're replying to. Why even bother?
Noah Morris
It's implied that it wasn't even the Hulking out that was the problem, right? I mean, he was among other frogs that could do that, so it really just was his anger issues.
It's been confirmed that she's wearing spats, hotshot.
Jason Phillips
Do you see the looks on their faces? Yeah, Anne forgot to put them on before leaving for the library. It's the only explanation.
Levi Martin
proof?
Eli Miller
of purchase?
Ethan Brown
since Hop Pop and Sylvia are dating, does it mean he can grab that Sundew money?
Wyatt Gutierrez
After she lets him sew the proprietary crops.
Luke Green
>since Hop Pop and Sylvia are dating When? Do people usually get dumber and reach this hard with a new show? I feel like this kind of shit is posted without a hint of facetiousness.
Jace Gomez
Future episode synopsis has them dating. Plus, you know, the events of the dance.
Kayden Ortiz
>Plus, you know, the events of the dance. You mean when that other frog lady, and not Sylvia, displayed how much she wanted some of that old frog dong?
Ryan Phillips
It was a small gentle noot at first, then it was just a man's voice screaming "noot" deeply.
Daniel Wood
I think you may be confusing characters. Sylvia is indeed the older frog lady. Felicia is her daughter and Ivy's mother.
On a related note, if Hop Pop and Sylvia do get together, Sprig will have to give up on Ivy. He can't date his future cousin.
dollars to donuts that was an extremely one-off character, even for this show we'll never see gilf frog ever, or in any important capacity
Ryder Fisher
...
Landon Morales
2D goths are all fictional upsides (demure until they are charmingly psychotic, brooding but never needy, probably down for weird shit) and no downsides of real goths (chain smoker, dirty hair, grossly overweight, writes bad poetry).
This appeal seems to hold true even for anime, doesn't it?
Future episode has Hop Pop and Sylvia going on a date with Sprig trying to ruin it.
Gabriel Jenkins
>On a related note, if Hop Pop and Sylvia do get together, Sprig will have to give up on Ivy. He can't date his future cousin.
That's not how anything works.
Benjamin Evans
Yeah, The Simpsons had an episode where Grampa Abe got together with Marge's mom and Homer was convinced that would retroactively make his children incest babies. user is as dumb as Homer
