What's the Yea Forums version of this? For me, it's Steven Universe. Too much filler and increasingly sloppy animation really drowned my love for the show.

Star Vs unarguably
Wasn't the best originally but god-tier compared to what came after

Saga.

Star vs is i think the best example with a close second being adventure time. SU stopped being good after season 3 but still most of the series released so far has been decent at least.

Remember God is Dead?
That one, except the first two season are the first two issues.

Avatar -> Legend of Korra

Gravity falls

Marvel's company history

SU has like six "filler" episodes per 26 episode season season and you mean boarding, not animation.

I don't have an example but I am an autist.

Samurai Jack S5

>WHAAA better state myself as the dumb DCfag i am, god's forbid someone won't notice it!

Sad.

This image kinda reminds me of my life.

The horse should be dead then.

>every thread

wow you really have nothing else to do.

Game of Thrones fell apart because the books were always responsible for the heart of the characters and groundwork for the setting only for the show to run out of material to adapt.

So Korra I guess? Where the showrunners were constantly being jerked around with how much material and time they were being given to work with, to the point where they were backtracking on major character development to account for an unexpected order of more episodes, and rushing through other things to account for episodes suddenly being cut.

But Korra's second half was better than it's first, with s3 being the high point.

Anyway closest Yea Forums property I can think of is Cerebus. The earliest issues are meh but it very quickly accelerates into a masterpiece early on, sustains that level for quite a while, then begins a slow descent where it hits rock bottom with the occasional spark of brilliance.

I only watched the first two seasons. I couldn't get into the third. I always wondered if I had made a mistake. If I should have given it another go.
Season eight made me glad that I jumped ship all those years ago.

>Both Steven and Star (and Adventure Time) were at first silly comedies aimed at children
>Older fans stroke the crew's egos
>Crew makes the show more appealing to older fans in later seasons
>Everybody thinks shows went to shit during later seasons

Quite the almond activator

mlp

>SU retains its soul despite a perceived drop in quality
>Star VS randomly decides that magic is bad

Really does.

I'm not really sure that's what happened, but go off.

homestuck

This.

Voltron: Legendary Defender. Dropped the ball super hard towards the end.

Hi ladderfag

Gumball but make it "seasons 1-2/3/4/5-6"

Ultimate Spider-Man

It even had voice actors from GoT and Nefcy said GoT was an inspiration for it. It also ended with a mad royal girl comitting genocide.

Samurai Jack, Season 5.

What happened?

That feels more like a sudden left turn that lead to a car crash you cant look away from.

Tom King's career

My opinion for SU.

Attached: 1562532267780.png (732x479, 181K)

Bold take. I don't understand.

This

Voltron was never good and you're only pissed your fujo ship you tried to kill people over didn't happen

Regularly drawn Steven = good
Poorly drawn Steven = bad

S1-S2 = good
S3 = mixed
S4 = bad
S6 = good

Steven Universe is too much gay pandering. It looks like Season 6 on that picture

Starlight Glimmer

Jonny Test S1 vs S2+

Except even S1 was pretty retard

Looney Tunes, and what came after

Fuck you, AT was always great. Just because you didn't like when Finn got depressed doesn't mean it was bad

>AT was always great

Attached: 1500119790167.jpg (519x519, 32K)

>not capeshit in general

>First season is almost exclusively town-based
>Get mad about filler in later seasons

Attached: Cute CUTE.jpg (1106x1657, 110K)

Something something magic mixed with townies. It's the usual go to argument, but I like townies on their own since their mundane-yet-wacky personality contrast nicely with the more fantastical stuff.

Star vs and Voltron for sure.
Voltron peaked at season 6

Wakfu season 3 was ok but still utter trash compared to the first two.

Invincible.
Or anything by Kirkman really after he runs out of his starting ideas and reverts to "DRAMA, filler issues, BIGGER DRAMA, filler issues, EVEN BIGGER DRAMA!!!!!!..."

What is every well received animated series in the 2010s Alex?

Star Vs. wasn't that good in the first place honestly.

Korra doesn't work since it was a disappointment from the outset. It's completely inferior to AtLA in almost every respect too.

The problem was never the town, the problem was that the later town-focused episodes concerned mostly mundane conflicts.

The Simpsons.

>Cerebus
Also a good answer.

Transformers Prime, Star vs., Adventure Time, Tmnt 2012, voltron... almost no cartoons end well

>poorly drawn Steven
but user...they're all poorly drawn

>SU retains its soul
It lost its soul after the Cluster arc

That particular show kind of lost my interest in season 3

Star vs was never good.

The town was fine while it was a slice of life with some exiting "action episodes" and hints of something bigger.
Once that thing was revealed to be an intergalactic empire wanting to destroy earth, the town felt frivolous.

That Yea Forums is filled with people with child-like mentalities? I agree.

This happened in ATLA too at the very end which ruined the pacing.

Everyone can name one that goes like this, but what about one that goes in reverse?
Starts shit and ends really good?

>Fat George: The characters drive the story building their paths, his logic is "how would this character would react to this event?"
>Los Cuckaderos de la Soya: They already decided what each character will do, their logic is "how can we fit this in?"

Don't make excuses for them, Korra was always shit. Season one sucked complete balls on its own merits.

Adventure Time. I dropped it with What Was Missing and every time I thought about coming back it looked even worse. The grass sword thing seemed cool but I wasn't about to wade through all that shit just for what I don't doubt was a pathetic payoff.

Attached: 1549823797118.jpg (1280x1142, 180K)

I think the school thing was worse.

Never heard of that show. Not even Google knows what it is (also I can't get much results besides God's Not Dead). Apparently there's a movie called that.
Do you mean God, the Devil, and Bob?

Those are rarer to come across since a series that is bad from the get-go is more likely to be cancelled than allowed to develop into something good.
Only example I can think of is ATLA, a lot of people find the first half of the first season weak but much of those people love the finale.
It's also interesting to note that Nick took a big risk with ATLA and ordered all three seasons up front, so ATLA was going to last three seasons no matter what.

isn't venture bros supposed to be this way?

true blood

After they made Brock a butt-slut?
Nah. It's shit now.

>S5
>Good
Finale was decent for S3-5 standarts, but still shit if you compare it with S1

Attached: 7a9b3187a31ae2358144efd993079e3a9c29ac7058df6350cb6ecf107725f818.png (577x833, 164K)

First season didn't really have a pointed plot. There were just child adventures with some hint in the backgrounds about Gem race lore. Later seasons do have a plot, so townie bullshit filled like a punch in the belly when you wanted to follow the plot.

Also, there were bad townie episode in S1, really really bad episodes.

Frank Miller's Dark Knight

Nope, is a comic.

>But Korra's second half was better than it's first, with s3 being the high point.
Fuck no, s3 is garbage.

Attached: 1556197333946.png (506x487, 217K)

>almost no cartoons end well
it's almost easier to look at upcoming shows like Owl House and predict where they'll go off the rails after brief promise
But really, Star Vs. has to be the fastest crash and burn in terms of episode count

Its fine. They keep changing the premise every season or two.

This
Could apply to Legend of Korra itself but its more complete if you add ATLA

Attached: 1432523.jpg (500x416, 46K)

turn the horse into an tranny at the end and you have the development of comics for me

everything post-jailbreak was a massive letdown

I disagree, SU will always have its soul because unlike shows like Star VS it actually practice what it preaches. Action and monster of the week stuff may have fallen by the wayside after Ian JQ left to make OK KO but SU was always about dealing with emotions and Steven's growth first and foremost. That angle is still the strongest part of the show's writing and while other areas have subjectively dropped in quality this aspect is what keeps people coming back. The characters too but that's another tangent.

VLD is a quite fitting comparison:
>8 seasons
>the first of them even pretty good
>ups and down in the middle part
>the peak reached at seasson 6
>the EPs hired by another studio just waitng to wrap this up quick and move on
>a disastrous and illogical ending
>the white-haired main girl'sl arc stepping into a puddle of complete nonsense
>the guy which had seemed to be the designated hero goes no further than doing cool poses and some speeches
>the duel between two foes ended with a kill-steal
>Voltro as weak and useless as the Night King
Did l miss something?

Steven Universe maintained its essence throughout.
Adventure Time is the best example, really.

Fuck nevermind I want to change my answer to Homestuck too.

You're implying that SU was actually good and not just SJWBS. OK, then.

Star Vs. Was always hot garbage (beginning to end.).

>spams company war bullshit everywhere
>trying to pull an old strawman to justify how much of a retard he is.

Sad DCfags are sad.

SU was consistently good. Only season 4 was somewhat disappointing.

So what do you think Yea Forums should focus on. Very few comics and cartoons are aimed for adults, and the ones that do are either viewed as edgy garbage or shitty comedies.

American Dad maybe? Shit might be too strong, but people seem to like the later seasons where it developed its own identity more.

This

>character development that denies any premise
>occasional awkward fansevice
>subplots and characters who deserved a greater deepening left undone
>characterfagging

Gonna have to go with Star Vs here, or alternatively Gravity Falls if it wasn't so short. Steven Universe and Adventure Time were shit from the beginning.

Why are you such faggots? Do you see people reeing about ATT owning HBO so by saying this OP must hate Warner's?

Why are marvelfags such faggots?

>inb4 you called me marvelfag so you're a ladderbro

>Game of Thrones fell apart because the books were always responsible for the heart of the characters

I'm so sick of hearing this. The show couldn't do a fraction of what the books did due to contracts. That's it. The cunty actors and actresses wanted more and more and more.

Yes, it is partially due to the departure from the books and more importantly than that due to George having less and less to do with the show after the first couple seasons. Above all contracts ruined and severely shortened the ending of the show. Every actor wanted their piece.

That's wrong though. Seasons 5-7 were the best mlp ever had. Really the only bad season was 3.

star was never good

Based

Now, I read the entire thing. Let's not pretend it was ever good.

See, that's actually wrong. It was mundane-meeting-magic in the first season.

Later it was mostly mundane-meeting-mundane.

It was good to great for 20 episodes, then they ran out of money.

Attached: 1556998821.0utfox_rimbaracer-s2_1-watermarked.png (2560x1440, 837K)

All of it is shit that infected the industry.
Stop trying to think that your Barney garbage was ever good because you couldn't find anything else to get in or any other fandom to fit in.
No matter how you try to excuse yourself, you still look mentally stunted.

>Season 6, 8 and 9
>Good

>Barney
>good
>at all

Don't you have a dog to touch, Lee?

Yikes.

Cringe.

>almost 30 years old
>still tries to censor anyone who doesn't like a show made for 4-year-old girls
BLEED TO DEATH JUSTPASSINGTHROUGH

Those were shit from the beginning you delusional FUCKS.

Another thing to remember is that after a show passes 5 seasons any and all actors, cast, and crew who have been around since the beginning have mandatory pay raises.
It's a big reason why even the highest rated syfy shows like Eureka and Warehouse 13 were cancelled so fast, and why most shows after 5 seasons suffer from tighter budgets and trimming of the fat on characters.

Fern is the greatest payoff in the later seasons. Definitely worth it, even if the rest was meh

The answer is this, it is family guy tier at this point
