who even thinks that 60's comic book villains don't need more nuanced origin stories.

My only problem with it is that that was Riddler's backstory in Batman Forever.

Manletwank

The issue I've got with his adaptation is that he's a handsome sonovabitch. Comics Mysterio was such an ugly fuck that he was shunned to doing the special effects behind the scenes, which eventually motivated him to turn to crime.

Why can't someone who's ugly be cast for the role? What's this bias Hollywood has against knee-faced assholes?

Attached: look at this ugly bastard.jpg (602x900, 152K)

That kinda looks like Jake G

Not as much as this

Because there isn't one

It's just Yea Forums retards desperately looking for something to hate about the movie because liking popular things is bad

It's less about the fact it's Beck specifically being an ex-Stark employee and more the fact it's yet ANOTHER ex-Stark employee.

this

How many villians are Stark employees?

>Spider-Man's entire existence and schtick in the MCU is that he's Iron-Man's protige who has to pick up where Iron-Man left off, including taking down his sloppy second villains
>Raimi Spider-Man was his own man, making his own choices, and living with the consequences

I think it's time to bring Tobey back bros...

Not just ex-Stark employees, a lot of villains happened because of Tony being Tony or his family

you've got Stark employees like Stane, Beck and Anton Vanko, people who Tony just pissed off like Killian, Wanda/Pietro and Ultron, basically Tony's the source of a LOT of MCU villains in one way or another.

>I think it's time to bring Tobey back bros...

I don't think he's working anymore. What was the last thing he even starred in after Boss Baby?

>every villain is now a ex-stark employee

You could argue all of this was his plan and manipulation. Down to Jake Gyllenhaal sporting the RDJ look just to browbeat Peter into giving him E.D.I.T.H.

I hate ironman and RDJ so fucking much

MCU doesn't know how to write villains without tying it back to Tony in some way. Even after his death they're still trying to milk it. It's tiring.

It's fine over than tying Peter back to Iron Man again and at least has the same desire for recognition.
But I'm kind of disappointed that they're still clinging to realism, despite the success or Rocket and Groot. Having a supervillain be an ex-SFX or by now, ex-VFX artist is so much more fun and colourful.

>Stane and Anton Venko and Killian
are already Ironman Villians from the comics so I don't see a problem with them having a connections to Stark and his Family especially since they fought Stark in Ironman movies
>Wanda/Pietro
You have a point there but Disney didn't have the X-men mythos at the time and Starks weapons ending up in the wrong hands has been a thing in Ironman movies so seeing it in an avengers movie isn't bad. If my hometown was destroyed by weapons and I knew who created those weapons and saw they became a worldwide hero yeah I'd be pissed too. I thought it was done well.
>Ultron
No excuse for that one so I'll give you that
>Beck
I thought his ties to Stark industries was fine. It translates better to a movie then being a movie special effecrs artist

I don't find a problem with Peter being Ironmans protege. These movies aren't comics so these liberties are fine personally.

Ultron’s motivation wasn’t solely focused on Stark, but rather the Avengers as a whole, sure he gets triggered when compared to Stark, but his wanting to wipe out humanity came from The Avengers’ actions and spending some time on the Internet

riddler was a former stark employee?

The problem's not the backstory on its own, its that its been used so many times within the MCU.

Also this

Yes.

Mr. Stark

I normally don't say this but I wouldn't mind if the drone system is something Beck starts doing in comics.

Meanwhile Ghost never met Stark or gives a shit about him.

Taken on its own there's nothing wrong with the idea of adapting Mysterio as a former Stark employee, but when you also take into account all the other things that connect to Iron Man in this particular version of Spider-Man it seems a bit much.
I feel like at this point the MCU Spider-Man franchise seems like collateral damage from the Iron Man franchise instead of being its own thing within a shared universe.

IM2 and IM3 would not be able to happen if Tony never revealed he was Iron Man at the end of the first movie.

Anybody can look ugly in that haircut.

The problem is that he could be connected to Norman Osborn and still be as effective. Connecting him to Stark when Vulture was already somebody fucked over by Stark cast an Iron Man sized shadow over Spider-Man. I always hated that every villian in prior movies had some sort of connection with Spider-Man but this is the opposite extreme.

It kind of makes the world feel a bit incestuous defeating the only real appeal of expanded universes. Variety and seeming like a larger more organic world.

Why would they? Mysterio has fine origin story but i guess normalfags would think it is lame.

Tony is the single biggest source of MCU villains because he is a big meanie

There isn’t one. Especially in this canon. Everything is systematic and domino in terms of story mechanisms, not unlike real life, that’s why it works. Just in that respect.

Autist will complain and the best course of action all the time because they’re still children emotionally and so attached to things that are fluid and designed to reflect the current times anyway. Not the time they remember. The world doesn’t care and won’t remember what you think so try to god damn enjoy things.

To many brainlet nihilist cynics walking around with no real sense of perspective so, don’t even worry about it. These people always defeat themselves in the end and, at least if everything is as good as this, then the legacy of these Spider-Man movies will ultimately show that.

Tony stepped on my shoes so I decided to kill half of New York's dog population.

The problem is that most of the villains in the MCU relate to Stark and his company when they could use the opportunity to flesh out the universe by introducing elements of the Spiderman lore into the MCU such as Oscorp or Captain America with Roxxon

MCU Iron Man is always getting wanked off by the writers and is now "affable batman" with how much the MCU revolves around him

Ironman is the box office draw and newer stars need the rub from it in order to appear legitimate before casual audiences. There's a reason they're making billions of dollars and you're complaining on Yea Forums.

>Giving '60s characters origins that are more realistic in our times
=/=
>LITERALLY EVERYONE IN OUR AU PERSONALLY KNOWS AND LOVES OR IS MAD AT THE ONE GUY WHO IS THE SOLE CENTER OF THEIR WORLD
It's not realistic, it's not cool, it's not particularly modern, it's not funny. It's just retarded wanking of a Mary Sue with money cheat codes instead of real superpowers, which some people get mad at DC for doing to muh Batman (which don't get me wrong, is absolutely retarded as well) but lap up retarded MCU shit.

How would that have stopped Justin Hammer from attempting to build his own suit or Killian from creating Extremis?

it's because Iron Man > Batman

At this point he's just quippy sarcastic Batman that women can relate to more easily because he's sassy. He even has his own Robin and everything.

oh yeah? if iron man is so great then why is he dead?

Imagine how kino it would be if we get Ultron and Chthon banter in WandaVision.

He died for our sins.

Imagine the smell

because Batman has bullshit plot armor to keep him on the level of literal gods while Iron Man is a real character.

So what if i like the original motive of Mysterio?

So what the fuck are we suppose to do if complain?

stick to the comics and stop ruining everyone's fun, for once you get an amazing Mysterio on the big screen but it's no good cuz he's related to Iron Man, fuck off you autist

Because they wanted the tech and knew that the person operating it was Tony. Killian sent helicopters to Tony’s house. And of course Tony has a habit of making villains out of being an ass.

I mean i liked him otherwise but that is thanks to Jake.

Every MCU Spiderman villian is someone that Tony Stark pissed off
>Electro is an electrician that Tony fired for causing a blackout

>Tony refused to donate to a Rhino conservation organization
>The man that ran the organization becomes Rhino

>Tony ran over some girl's pet by accident
>That same girl grows up to be black cat

>Sandman was some kid who's sandcastle got kicked down by Tony

>It's realistic for literally every major event in a universe to be intrinsically connected to a single man
Ok retard

They could change literally nothing about him in FFH other than just the fact that he is connected to/mad at Stark and he'd be more than fine by me. Starkwank has been out of hand and it's only going to get worse now that he has been "martyred"

I wouldn't even consider this kind of thing to be "wank", at least not the traditional kind. It harms the character instead of propping it up. Tony since his inception is suppose to be a reflection of ethical capitalism and corporatism. Making 3 characters who are tied him through his company and the reason for them turning villain makes it look like he's a bad CEO who doesn't care about his workers when doing the opposite of that is a core part of his character and identity.

Attached: Iron Man (1968-1996) 103-005.jpg (1988x3056, 2.09M)

Riddler's backstory was Mad Hatter's backstory earlier in the animated series.

Attached: tetch meh.jpg (634x480, 26K)

You're not wrong. When I call it wank personally, I mean that propping them up is what Feige, or whoever is making these decisions, THINKS they're doing.

I like how a movie with zero Tony Starks biggest complaint is still Stark wank, he haunts you all from the grave

>Sat out the movie entirely and is just shitposting
>Dense in general
>Being facetious because anonymous replies validate him
Which one are you?

They’ll bring back stark at some point.

They already did ;>)

Me either. It's just a good in-universe explanation for where such crazy tech came from

I'm just bothered that they have all these Marvel properties and movies they can connect with Spider-Man, but they just keep doing Iron Man.

>and it's only going to get worse now that he has been "martyred"

how so? The movie felt like a send-off to Stark and the last time we will probably get a reference to him is probably in Shang-Chi's movie if they make his dad the Mandarin

Send-off for him in relation to the MCU at large? Somewhat possible
Send off for him in relation to this universe's "Spider-Man?" Not a chance in hell. I'm also just going to gloss over the fact that it's incredibly retarded and disrespectful to the character of Spider-Man and his fans to use one of his movies as a sendoff for a character who gets wanked too much in the first place. They should have kept that shit contained either to Endgame, or if they really fucking had to, they should have made a movie or a one shot about how his death affected other people or something.
