I had a thought in another thread, and decided to make a quick survey to see how things lined up. I'm interested to know whether people prefer Luck of the Fryrish or Jurassic Bark, and how those preferences line up with people who have close siblings or dogs. Strawpoll here: strawpoll.me
Jurassic Bark vs. Luck of the Fryrish, and how people relate

Also Futurama thread
Luck of the Fryrish is a tough one just because it does more to bring up the hard times I had with my siblings than it does to help me come to terms with how much I love them. And I have a fantastic relationship with them.
The real issue, though?
I've lost a dog.
I've never lost a brother.
And that makes all the difference.
Honestly the ending of the Dream episode was the only Futurama episode to make me tear up. Out of those two though I liked Luck of the Fryish more.

Shut up, I'm not crying. You're crying.
I have 2 younger brothers and Luck gets to me more, never particularly cared for dogs
This hit me harder than Jurassic Bark or Luck Of The Fryish.
It's amazing how animation can hit more emotional cords than live action.
The real answer is Leela's Homeworld.
You know what would be fun and cool? A Simpsons/Futurama cross over episode. If they haven't already done it. Just something about the Futurama gang going back in time to "Fry's Time" but stuck in Springfield. So Fry would have to explain the past to them like they explained the future, and also Simpsons shenanigans I guess.
I can see Bender and Homer drinking DUFF and getting along.
They did a crossover as a Simpsons episode and it was dumb
>You know what would be cool? If they did that thing they already did but good
I mean, I can agree with that but you should think about what you're saying more user
Okay... I guess it isn't a good idea.
Are you sure you responded to the right post?
No, I did not. My bad user
yeah i saw this in the other thread, new knowing Yea Forums it would be its own thread.
Wat
Did you guys read the

Part in that post at all?
I think Luck of the Fryrish was the one that handled how Fry going missing in the 21st century impacted his loved ones the best. Jurassic Bark really only focused on Seymour, and it felt a little more hollow because we weren't learning all of this with Fry, we were being given information Fry wasn't privy to, so we weren't growing with him. Other episodes like focused more on Fry's personal nostalgia and regrets, with only a bit of a glimpse at how his Mom was affected.
It's kind of a shame we never got a spotlight for Yancy Sr., but it might've just been more of a retread.
They made a comic version years before it that was way better, don't know why they didn't just adapt that.
Fryish hurts more imo because im Jurassic Bark, Fry knows Seymour adored him but he passes on the cloning because he mistakenly assumes Seymour had moved on after he disappeared.
In Fryish, Fry actually learns he was wrong. He spent all his time in the future til then believing he was a nobody and wouldn't be missed, then finds out he mattered more to his big brother than he thought
I think because it was a Simpsons episode at its core, rather than a Futurama episode. The comic had the Simpsons being made real from an in-universe comic book, rather than both parties being "real" from the get-go.
damn fry's mom is stacked
Oh i'm gonna hate myself even more in hell once I kill myself and my mother has to go through this herself.
Fryrish is a better episode, by a wide margin. more emotional too, it's just a dog in Jurassic Bark. The sad music at the end of Jurassic Bark helps it a bit, that's the main thing it has going for it. Really, the two episodes are going for different things. In Jurassic Bark the tragedy is in relating to the dog, to stay loyal to somebody even though their dead. In Luck of the Fryrish the tragedy is more relating to Fry in knowing your brother actually does love you, even if he didn't show it well.
I'll also admit, I'm not much of a dog person. Actually not much of an animal person in general. I took care of cats before for my dad but I couldn't stand them.
It really wasnt
why the fuck do most of the states in the 31st century have weird computery names but NNY and NNJ are normal and don't have weird names?
What states?
Techbros conquered the western US before being wiped out by aliens.
fryrish hit me harder, but i got a brother i'm separated from.
fry saying goodbye to his mom really got me good tho
>She wakes up, sees Fry's picture and smiles and goes back to bed
This shit unironically made me cry.
Fuck the brother
Fuck the dog
Fuck everything else, this shit physically hurt my soul and my heart
