He has a lot of very based opinions when it comes to the subject of the Golden Age of Animation, the decline of the 60's to 80's, amongst other things related to comics and cartoons.

He was instrumental in the animation revival of the 90's, although he thinks he did that single highhandedly (he disses on Spielberg's contribution, dosn't acknowledge the Disney Renascence) but he was also god damn slow and he probably risked the jobs of a lot of people who worked for him.

Also, there is more than a small chance he violated the Mann Act by dating a teenager and transporting her across state lines.

When will this fucking rumor die? The revival was starting in the mid to late 80's, before Ren & Stimpy existed. All his show did was inspire a bunch of people to shove gross humor and make their own knock off versions of his show. The 90's would've been just fine without him.

Almost everyone who has worked with him hates him. Even his mentor Ralph Bakshi and Bruce Tim have strained relationships with him. There are a ridiculous number of instances where he is shown to be a fuck up and piece of shit. Stuff like having VA's do ridiculous numbers of retakes, just not coming into work or being late on deadlines and crunching the staff. This isn't even including all of the creep and pedo stuff.

watched an episode of Teen Titans with my 5 and 7 yr old daughters. They love it. It was partly done in that shitty retro 70s style, complete with color fuckups and continuity fails. I was laughing and the girls couldn't catch all the jokes. It was genuinely funny and encouraging to know that the animators on this kid's show love animation and try to make the most of it. I credit John K with making that even possible, in 1984 people would have said making R&S was impossible because the dollar ruled all. Creatives keep getting through though.
