By "WORST Comic Adaptations" I mean CBMs that are so different from the Comics or make so many stupid changes that the CBM is a insult to the Comics and anyone who is a fan of the Comics.
ITT: WORST Comic Film Adaptations
Do you actually hate the movie or do you just want to outrage farm
BvS
Lol fuck off
It's the same as Constantine; way off, but still entertaining enough. Wouldn't you say so?
I love movie, and I don't give a single fuck about it being not loyal or close to comics.
Let's keep Yea Forums clean of these live-action abominations.
There's tons of different versions of Spider-Man so I don't mind
So you don't read Spider-Man? It's fine to like this movie, just acknowledge that it's Spider-Man in name only
So, all of them?
Kys these threads are why people come to Yea Forums, no one gives a shit for your cartoon waifus and I only see comic book movie shit ever stickied so HA
You do know you can read the comics and appreciate the movies as well too right?
Lol, okay I'll be serious.
The very core concepts of Watchmen goes against how to pitch a blockbuster movie. It was fucked out the gate, this movie is made of nothing but compromise.
well youre not wrong, they are very changed from the comics but theyre decent as their own stories
What if you learned that it’s possible to both read ASM and enjoy the films?
I was talking about Constantine. I only really love Raimi's first 2 movies, tho.
MCU is ok, but not that great. Vulture was the only great thing in it.
yeah he's not even blue WTF
Oh I didn't deny that. It's fine to enjoy this movie for what it is. I'm not being a Not Muh faggot here, hence why I made the Constantine comparison. I just acknowledge and understand why some Spider-Man fans are frustrated with it. I might hate MCU Peter's characterization, but there's still enough there for me to find FFH entertaining, mostly because of Beck. I do however get annoyed by people parroting "most accurate Peter" nonsense but what can you do?
Spider-Man Homecoming, maybe but, Spider-Man Far from Home? Fuck no, and Scott Pilgrim VS the World the Movie? Turbo hyper ultra super fuck no.
The board literally says comics and cartoons. Live-action garbage is neither of those.
>M-MUH UNCLE BEN
fucking kill youself
Take it to Yea Forums
Then why did the mods sticky the trailer for the movie in OPs post and the Endgame spoiler warning shit thing
Like it or not, Uncle Ben is the driving force behind Peter's character. No one wants to see him get shot again, we just want to him to matter. This is like if Batman's parents didn't die and yet somehow still became Batman
You have to be at least 18 yr. old to post here, come back in 6 Years
>people
Acktually, Yea Forumsfags come to Yea Forums because their board is so shit they can't even have a damn discussion. Apply yourself.
You can argue that the greedy businessman is a version of the ridiculously named F.A. Schist from the comics, and there's a supporting character named after artist Mike Ploog, but take that away, and this could easily have been released as a generic horror movie and no one would have even thought to compare it to Marvel.
Don't blame them desu that place is a shithole
These and literally anything with MCU Spider-Man qualifies. This the worse case of it.
It really is Spider-Man In Name Only. This is relevant because the audience is being duped and just accepting it. Just accepting that these people are going to take pre-established characters, make up something entirely new for them and sell you on it that it's somehow the character you loved enough to make popular in the first place.
This should be last fucking straw for anyone who reads comics to give up faith in all live adaption bullshit. But nope/
>It's just a different version of Spider-Man!
How different does something have to be until it's not the same thing anymore?
Making a whole thread for this is stupid so I'm just going to ask here, what suit does Tony get into when he has an anxiety attack in Iron Man 3?
Far From Home is unironically the best Spider-Man movie yet. By far.
well peter and his story in far from home is pretty different from the comics, its DIFFERENT sure, but not bad. Mysterio is pretty similar though.
Far From Home is way better than Homecoming. Way better.
it isn't even the best MCU Spider-Man Film, brainlet. Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man Film period and Sam Raimi's Spider-Man & Spider-Man 2 are the best Live-Action Spider-Man Films.
Hell no. Give me 10 reasons Far from Home is better.
Wrong board.
Unironically Captain Marvel.
Peter is a much better character in Far From Home in addition to being more independent. In spite of being more independent, Peter/Spider-Man still interacts more back and forth with his surrounding cast and it's great.
MJ and his friends developed more and are way more fleshed out in Far From Home in comparison to Homecoming where they were kind of shit.
Mysterio is not only the best Spider-Man villain, but one of the most interesting Marvel villains period, and the movie adaptation of Mysterio was splendid.
Far From Home's continuation off of Endgame was much smoother and much better executed than Homecoming's continuation off of Infinity War.
The movie is even better at handling Peter's dilemma of balancing his normal life with that of his life as Spider-Man Homecoming was, and the movie did more with the general public's perception of Spider-Man and how it affects Peter/Spider-Man and the general world at large as well.
Why isn't Far From Home way better than Homecoming?
>Spider-Verse is the best Spider-Man Film period
Maybe if the core of the movie wasn't Ultimate Spider-Man with Miles in the lead role.
Also, Raimi's movies are good movies but godawful adaptations.
>MJ and his friends developed more and are way more fleshed out in Far From Home in comparison to Homecoming where they were kind of shit.
Literally how did they change?
Mark VII I think.
>Raimi's movies are good movies but godawful adaptations.
Wtf are you talking about? Have you even seen any of them?
Character development is not the same as character growth. Don't confuse the two.
>Mysterio is not only the best Spider-Man villain, but one of the most interesting Marvel villains period, and the movie adaptation of Mysterio was splendid.
Mysterio's motive was lame and was poorly written. Vulture had a reasonable motive and had great writing.
Yes and it's absolutely correct.
I didn't, now stop dodging my question. Literally how did they develop/change?
>Far From Home's continuation off of Endgame was much smoother and much better executed than Homecoming's continuation off of Infinity War.
Homecoming was before Infinity War, dipshit. Far from Home handled Infinity War/Endgame's effects extremely poorly.
They didn't change, much anyway. They were developed. I wasn't dodging the question, you were asking a question that questioned something I never implied.
I'll corroborate user's statement. As far as what makes a movie a good movie, they did a lot right in the grand scheme of things.
Those things don't matter as much if you're purely looking for the features that would make them good adaptations or good "comic book movies"
>The movie is even better at handling Peter's dilemma of balancing his normal life with that of his life as Spider-Man Homecoming was, and the movie did more with the general public's perception of Spider-Man and how it affects Peter/Spider-Man and the general world at large as well.
Fuck no it didn't. Peter is handed the role of being the successor with Iron Man after seeing him die and he throws it out the drain becuase "waaaah!, I don't want to save people, I just wanna fuck MJ!", it's like he devolved back to how he acted early into Homecoming.
>Homecoming was before Infinity War, dipshit.
I meant Civil War fuckface. I just goofed it.
ANSWER THE FUCKING QUESTION. HOW DID THEY DEVELOP?
In Far From Home Peter grows into an actual hero, instead of a puppet following the orders of other heroes who just ended up getting stuck in the middle of things. In Far From Home Peter actually steps up and makes important decisions on his own, fights against the odds and comes out as a genuine hero.
>instead of a puppet following the orders of other heroes who just ended up getting stuck in the middle of things.
No he doesn't. He just mindlessly follows Mysterio & Talos and when he does think for himself (besides the final act), he just fucks things up more like giving E.D.I.T.H to Mysterio or sending a drone strike towards the bus.
You mean how the original character always was?
This isnt Peter Parker, its white Miles Morales
THAT'S AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT QUESTION THAT WHAT YOU WERE ORIGINALLY ASKING, BUT FINE I'LL ANSWER IT.
The answer is pretty simple though. We got to see a lot more of their personalities. The likes and dislikes of MJ. More sides to the students in general, with scenarios that allowed their personality quirks to come into the spotlight organically.
With the exception of Ned, they might as well have been damn extras in Homecoming with how little they mattered. And in spite of this the movie still wanted to shove MJ down our throat in spite of them doing fuckall with her.
Why MCU fans get angry and offended when someone doesn’t like their movies?
Some people seemed to miss the point of Far From Home, it's literally spelled out for you in the movie
Honestly FFH was probably the most comic accurate since it's Peter trying to deal with personal drama while getting bamboozled by a supervillain doing some wacky narcissistic scheme he defeats by using his spider-sense and believing in himself.
>Glowing red eye
It was actually glowing red fireflies. Movie may have been shit but that monster design was on point.
Not the original poster but those reasons are pretty bad.
>the likes and dislikes of MJ
That fucking hilarious.
I dont remember any of the kids names of the top of my head. All of them are props for the set up of jokes.
shit thread
fuck Yea Forums immigrants
Not that guy, but I love it. Thread after thread of salty DCEU bitches moaning and crying about the MCU, pretending to be "fans of the comics".
And not a single thread about the hilariously wanna-be DCEU in sight.
Seeing you whine endlessly while the MCU keeps cranking out hit after hit gives me a warm feeling inside. Maybe if you had less exposure to lead as a baby you'd be able to differentiate between comic book stories and movies.
But do continue.
Is it any worse than OP being so butthurt by the MCU Spidey that he considers it "an insult" to the comics and comic fans?
>We got to see a lot more of their personalities.
That isn't Character development, moron.
>All of them are props for the set up of jokes.
And this is bad why?
In Homecoming they might as well not even been people, and yet the movie forced them upon us anyway. And that includes MJ who got the worst of it and was pushed in our face in spite of having nothing.
Does she have a lot in Far From Home? No I wouldn't say so, but she is an actual character here at the very least which puts her worlds apart from her portrayal in Homecoming. It also allowed for some genuine chemistry to go on between the characters, which was cute and good. Instead of empty and hallow like in Homecoming.
Was it needed at all? Arguably, but maybe not. No matter the case, if you do have it then it better have to have something to it. In Far From Home it did, in Homecoming it really did not.
At this point I'm assuming the radioactive spider bit Peter after Ben's death. I'm not bothered at all by Tony Stark replacing Ben in the MCU.
>That isn't Character development, moron.
Yes it is. Everything that we learn about a character is character development. As I said before, character development is not the same as character growth or change. Don't confuse the terms.
Not really. People mostly praise it due to the mid credits and the crappy comedy
Both are bad Spider-Man movies. You write so much but say nothing. Stop trying to convince yourself.
Its been ten years of "Marvel bad. MARVEL BAD!!! Why you like Bad Thing? Me no Understand! Why Marvel user like all terrible MCU mobies? Me not Trolling U." ad nauseum.
This is what their lives have become, when they aren't begging people to see DCEU flops, and only succeeding when the movies absolutely copy-cat Marvel's superior films.
It has to be exhausting. Imagine if they put this kind of effort into something meaningful and worthwhile?
I won't defend Homecoming, but Far From Home was actually good. I'm not sure why so many people are so hard on it.
We learn Peter Parker has a 3 inch cock.
>character development
Peter Parkers learns how to use his 3 inch cock.
>character growth
Funny because I don't recall ever seeing Marvel fans create their own imaginary bogeyman to pin all the anti-marvel posts on and demand mods delete every post that hurts their feelings like a certain other group does
Just a reminder that the people shitting on FFH are just butthurt Raimifags, unless proven otherwise
Everything we learn about the Character again isn't Character development. I'm a storyteller, you just sit around on Yea Forums, don't try to act like I'm wrong when I'm right, kid.
You sound really butthurt about badly written movies being criticized
it literally got an A cinemascore, no one's being hard on it except Raimifags
Get out of the Yea Forums bubble
fuck off HiTop films, no ones gives a shit about your garbage opinions
>fans of Spider-Man
You keep proving my point. Everytime someone criticizes the MCU you guys get offended. Too bad this isn’t Reddit you can’t downvote things you don’t like
>By "WORST Comic Adaptations" I mean CBMs that are so different from the Comics or make so many stupid changes that the CBM is a insult to the Comics and anyone who is a fan of the Comics.
So all of them, you fucking idiot?
>Everything we learn about the Character again isn't Character development.
But it is and you'd be carrying on a with a false conception if you thought otherwise.
>Raimifags
Oh that explains a lot. Should have been more obvious to me.
Those are both kino though, on top of being fantastic adaptations. Wtf, OP?
unironically the best adaptations and best spiderman. modernized just enough to make it feel fresh and draws plots and characters from many spiderman versions. peter parker looks like an actual teenager. cry more.
>fans of movies with actual soul
White Miles Morales, not Parker
Yea Forums isn't people
They are the exact opposite of people
kek
I'm not Alex Hunter but, I am tied to him. if I were Alex, I would've mentioned Spider-Man 2 or Sam Raimi in all of my posts.
Just stop.
It's sad and this year perfectly illustrates just how different the levels between Based Marvel and DC really are
And next year might be EVEN WORSE for them
oh so because he has a fat friend he's white miles? fucking retard kill yourself.
you're still one of those faggots so it really doesn't matter, kys and if you want a raimifag safespace there's always twitter
I would argue against that. Regardless this is still the best live action Peter we've gotten. The only competition that is even in the running is Amazing Spider-Man's Peter, and we all know what's up with that iteration.
Raimi's Peter is so damn awful. Raimi's Spider-Man? Not that bad. Raimi's Peter? Oh boy. What a slaughter of a character.
I honestly almost can't believe that people insist that they're good adaptions.
Because Peter Parker actually faced consequences for his actions.
If he left class, he actually got in trouble.
Same with Aunt May. He had to call her if he stayed up too late. This version let's his nephew get into life threatening situations with no explanation.
Peter blushes his friends away inadvertently because of his life as Spider-Man.
Peter doesnt need to live up to Tony Stark or any other schmuck superhero. Only his uncle Ben who he was directly responsible for his death.
Miles needs to live up to another superhero (in this case Iron Man).
>Top Banana Expander
Not bad
Because they'd read the original Stan Lee and Steve Dikto run on the character.
It's always retards who've never read Miles that say this, is it because of his fat best friend? Fucking retard. read miles before you make claims like this, kill yourself
>MUH DC vs MARVEL WAR
The cuck defense force has assembled. Facts: MCU is overrated and you're a fucking MCUck.
Mags Visaggio is a writer too. Got any creditials worth a fuck?
you say that even though Ditko's Peter was a huge asshole who talked shit to people and was always standing up for himself until Lee and Romita slowly changed him into a mega Chad
Have you ever read Miles? Did you watch FFH Either? There's multiple times where Peter has to ditch his friends and Peter ditching MJ us one of the main plot points that drives the film forward.....god casuals are so fucking stupid, you see that MCU Peter has a fat best friend and you automatically think Ganke without ever having read and Miles
This. I'm not mad mar-vell is a woman, I'm mad she's a retarded pussy. Instead of fighting for what she believes in, she comes up with a plan to use one of the most powerful objects in the universe to make a speedboat
>the butthurt of this post
my sides
NOT MUH NOT MUH NOT MUH NOT MUH
Because they're drones and have no real personality and opinions of their own, so they form an identity that revolves around pop culture. It's why they get so mad when you criticize a MCU movie. They feel personally attacked.
Yeah, but disliking popular things isn't a personality either.
Did Peter ever face consequences for leaving MJ stood up?
She doesn't seem to mind. Just goes out there out of curiosity and guesses hes Spider-Man.
What a true blow for Peter, I feel so bad for him. All the weight on his shoulders.
It's usually Yea Forumsfags that unironically stan for the Raimi trilogy. Personally I have nothing against those movies, but they don't hold up very well.
Man, I wonder if teenagers ever do that?
Be immature assholes. Surely they are always good little boys and girls who kist want a small kiss with their high school sweethearts.
Liking and defending them like an underage retard isn’t either
You said that already.
I saw that video too, holy shit, I actually like the guy but he is so fucking butthurt
>id Peter ever face consequences for leaving MJ stood up
No consecuences. At least Peter in the comics faces consequences like his grades falling apart and the stress of working and studying plus being Spidey.
My only problem with Raimifags is that they include Spider-Man 3 in their love. I honestly consider it a disservice to Raimi to like Spider-Man 3 as it wasn't the movie he wanted and wasn't the movie the audience deserved. It fucks up in so many places while having a couple of nice scenes. Sony fucked Raimi over with 3 and I feel like saying it's as good as the previous 2 when it's very much not is wrong.
>no one understand me
>that's so mainstream!
>pff i have the superior taste
>i'll never listen to the crowd
>my skin is cold
And the sad thing is that you are just pretending, because you are clearly a butthurt DCfag lol.
I also saw it, he said FFH broke him, what a nutjob
>what is being a long time fan of a character
The Constantine movie was god awful. Chaz being a kid, John being an emotionless sack, Lucifer being totally based, none of these things are what the comics were about.
There was exactly one good scene in the film and it's 5 seconds.
Daredevil. Some like it, but as a fan of the character, it felt like they just tried to cram the greatest hits of the Miller run into one movie while also being inappropriately edgy and taking themselves waaay too seriously.
Not him but
>"Everything I don't like is DC!"
>a long time fan of a character
Raimi's Peter Parker is wildly different from his comicbook origins and counterparts. Wildly different.
>Why people don't agree with me on sperging on something i don't like
>why isn't this thread just a circlejerking of hate
Because you are a worthless retard and deserve to be shat on.
According to any elseworld comic they can get way more different than anything we've seen in movies short of that Japanese Spider-Man adaptation. No, not the sentai one, the one with an actual Spider-Man mutant. Wait nevermind, that happened in comics too.
I'm also a long time fan of the character. You see me whining about being "broken". Raimi's trilogy is the reason we still have the fucking organic vs. webshooter argument today. It took lots of liberties too. Hell, I'd say it totally fucked up all the villains in Spider-Man 3, especially Harry Goblin. but I'm cool with those just like MCU Spidey because I know things in them worked.
I don't like any of the ASM movies and think they're abominations but I don't fucking whine about them "breaking" me
And this is why comic book writing is trash.
>Same character since the 60's with no end
>still spamming the forced Blue-Ray meme while denying to be a dumb DCfag
Sure thing dumb dumb.
Btw meanwhile the mcu has made another what, five billions and a couple of oscars? Yeah, but at least you still have the eat the blue ray meme, to each their own.
Your point being?
Movies and comics don't have to be a one to one. Otherwise just make then animated and use the panels as storyboards.
He made a YouTube channel, writes scripts and creates content. Whether it's good or not is irrelevant but just because you dont share the same opinion doesnt devalue his or yours.
>cucking a black guy by stealing his white wife
It's like opposite porn!
Whining about a movie "breaking you" is no different than "x ruined my childhood" trash
Man its almost as If Peter ditching MJ led to her following him and mysterio finding out about this leading MJ,Betty, and Ned to become a target and get attacked by Beck's drones....OH WAIT
Hey Zack, show us Batmans parents die again, we forgot.
>Your point being?
That it's pretty silly to be a long time fan of Raimi's Spider-Man and then be upset when no other Spider-Man media not directly influenced by Raimi's movies, fits the bill.
It's the general personality that is more Miles like. Real Pete was never so bumbling fanboyish
Because the MCU has tricked people into thinking that everyone of their movies is the best thing ever which leads to a mob mentality of people thinking that anyone who criticizes an MCU film is a “toxic fanboy”.
Peter isn't real.
There's a pretty big difference between criticism and empty whining about feeling insulted by an adaptation taking liberties.
I just watched it. Every point he makes is wrong. It's like he's Armond White but less witty
Sure, but what makes him Spider-Man at that point?
His cast is the same, only with different skin colors, he's still got May, he's still a genius (more so than in any movie version yet) he's got the costume and the webs and quips.
He's closer to base-line Peter than most movie versions of other characters are to their source.
what is this
Of course it is not but why do i have to like everything popular?
You don't, but it's honestly preferable to like things in general.
>but they don't hold up very well
In your opinion but in my opinion 1 and 2 are great and Raimi being director for those movies great.
Raimi's Peter Parker is fucking nothing like Stan Lee's and Steve Dikto's Peter.
Their Peter had a temperament and had real personality issues. Had he not became Spider-Man and gotten the opportunity to vent and let out his frustrations through the outlet that was Spider-Man, he might have seriously gone off the deep end.
Raimi's Peter however is a fucking wet sponge. He shuts down and cries in the face of any adversity and is a fucking pussy that lets everyone walk straight over him. Dressed up as Spider-Man he thankfully gets some confidence and can finally act like a person, but as Peter Parker he is just overwhelmingly pathetic.
It's accurate because Peter Parker has always been meant to be a nerd you say and Raimi's Peter was a nerd? No. Yes Raimi's Peter was a nerd but even though Peter Parker was always a nerd he was never ever that pathetic. He was pushed around but he wasn't some damn wet sponge that just let people walk over him as he cried while shutting down completely. Peter Parker cursed the people pushing him around.
Raimi's Peter drops the ball on all of this and shits the bed completely. It's like night and day.
Why do you Raimifags always convince yourselves that the portrayal is accurate to the comicbooks?
They got peter's and spiderman's character poorly. spiderman rarely cracks jokes in these installments. Then there's also with the whole everyone knowing who he is etc.
Steel
People have been giving good criticism in here though.
why do raimifags claim to know it all when it comes to spider man
I like Arnold movies. Those are still popular right?
>Dangly Scrotumdeliverer
No, but good for you.
Pfft lol
Thats MCUck fans, you gigafaggot.
Not really, no. And when they do they certainly don't meet the same epidermic reaction.
*Smug anime girl intensifies*
No, Raimifags.
He has Spider-Man powers, name, costume. That's something that's literally not the case for all comic versions.
If you mean Peter he has some of his personality traits, some common story points, some of his supporting cast.
I apologize, blind praise is better, the MCU is perfection and all criticisms are heresay.
When movies like Catwoman, Elektra, X-3, Ghost Rider 2, Tranktastic 4, Man-Thing, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine exist, labeling any modern cape movie as "the worst" is just irresponsible.
Neither was Miles, read Miles before you make the comparission. The only reason Miles wanted to prove himself is because Captain America fucking hated him and wanted him arrested, He never fanboyed over him
THIS
Raimifags always out themselves when they say his Pete was good.
Ditko/Lee Pete was a borderline school shooter type. He did the same "I'll show them--I'll show them ALL!" mentality as his villains and that was the fucking point.
Raimi's Peter Parker-cum-Steve Urkel is horrible
>read Miles
Why would anyone do that willingly?
This is how I know you’re a Disney faggot.
I cannot wait until Tom Holland’s Iron lad gets rebooted and the next generation of kids will be shitting all over the MCU
>labeling any modern cape movie as "the worst" is just irresponsible
Not necessarily
>waaaah it's not accurate to thing!
Why the fuck would I care? If I want comics Spider-Man I'll read the comics.
Fuck off, if you're not going to be somewhat accurate then make a new fucking character and stop stealing ideas from comic books because Hollywood is creatively bankrupt
They started off liking Spider-man 3 ironically but then it turned into liking it unironically.
Hi-Top films is a fag, ive never seen someone so butthurt over a fictional character dude you are like 20something and creaming your pants over "NOT MUH SPIDER-MAN" such a pretentious faggot.
This is baby shit. Fuck Disney.
That tends to happen with everything. It's like that old saying "Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they're in good company". I mean just look at Yea Forums or DC fans
Not liking Ultimate Spider-Man and Miles makes me a Disney faggot?
Nice fallacy, faggotron.
I liked the raimi movies (and first Amazing Spiderman was "okay")....i didn't get through half of Homecoming
i doubt Far from home is any better.
Does Disney shit on Spiderman because part of its owned by Sony???
This was goofy and poorly made but it's leagues better than Catwoman.
What’s the definitive story arc for characters like mj and Ned? These films are empty and expect you to pull on past media and flicks and transpose it onto the characters so they don’t have to do any work.
I liked both
He really isn’t.
Spider-verse’s Peter B was the closest to the baselinecomics Peter and he’s not a perpetual fucking high schooler.
I am completely fine with people liking the Riami films. I do too. They are good movies.
But why do these people so vehemently defend them as good adaptations when they're really fucking bad adaptations?
I really don't get this. I don't get it at all.
Basically the only thing different about this one is Ben is missing. You sperg freak out over it and then ignore Ragnarok which is a 100% different movie.
Somehow I feel like that's the best version of watchmen we're ever going to get
Scott Pilgrim was a trash comic liked by tasteless fuckwits, the fact that you got a movie directed by one of the best living directors of all time will never cease to baffle me.
This is a straw man argument with disinfo designed to blow away critics of the mcu spider faggot.
Ditko and Lee’s Peter was an awkward punk who changed his ways rather quickly after his uncle’s death. He still got shoved around frequently and was corny as shit. While Raimi's peter got shoved around, nowhere did he lie down and die or cry in the face of adversity. This is proven in the train rescue scene and saving the Asian kid without his powers. He didn’t give up even in the face of imminent failure.
This is much like his comic book counterpart whose had rocky relationships, identity crises, loved ones and best friends dying on him, and his daughter being stillborn. He keeps on going despite life shitting on him.
Well i like some parts of it.
>that video
I cringed so fucking hard when he admits his age, then calls himself "old" for his preference in practical effects. I'm cool with him not liking the movie, but there were a few things that he didn't understand about the movie.
The MCU is heavily based on the ultimate comics.
Cope ladderbro
Well there is nothing wrong with prefering practical effects.
Adaptation is not really what they are doing anymore. The MCU really has become its on thing. No longer needing to take every detail from comics.
MOTHERFUCKING PARKER LUCK. IT’S MISSING FROM THE MCU WHICH MAKES MCU SPIDER-KID A PRIVILEDGED FAGGOT
True but doesn't mean i am gonna like those chances.
At least it's the best film of 2010.
repeating things means he's not an NPC I think?
I think they've overtaken other versions (including comics) as the definitive one for some people, for one reason or another. Being the definitive version basically divorces them from the source, making them a new source rather than an adaptation, in the mind of some people.
Just look at how many people think Uncle Ben giving the great responsibility speech is obligatory, when in comics it was a narration box.
the "take off your clothes" part was pretty Parker-Luckish
You're right, there isn't. He just sounds like a super zoomer when he acts as if practical effects are a thing of the past, or when his "reviews" actually seem more like reaction videos.
The Raimi movie showed Ben dying the exact same night as the wrestling match. Tons of people aren't aware of Pete's time as a super-powered twat prior to Ben's death
Meant to reply to
The funniest thing to me is that the first father figure to give the responsibility speech in movies is the dad in the original Teen Wolf movie, which I'm 110% sure Raimi has watched.
Everyone is fapping so loudly to these abominations that I sometimes forget other people hate them just as much as me
I'm a raimifag, but I claim to know more because I watched Spectacular Spider-Man and have read USM and SM 2099. I'll still admit I don't know a lot considering I haven't read the Lee/Ditko run.
But practical effects kinda are past thing. Most of effects are made in CGI nowadays because it is not time consuming and much more cheaper.
Spectacular isn't faithful either as an adaptation, it drags Peter's whole supporting cast down to highschool, a lot of villains are heavily changed, it even used people's prior knowledge to pull a twist with Harry being the first GG.
MJ's confident and understanding sexy woman schtick doesn't work as well for a teenager, and it lead to changing Gwen to her polar opposite to have more complimentary characters, which is completely different from her original character. And then there's Eddie.
both spiderman movies are great in my opinion. its flawed but their adaptation is still good. I don't know why OP is hating this.
While map paintings and animatronics are largely a thing of the past, the vast majority of movies (MCU to some extent being a noted exception) still use practical sets, costumes, stunts, props, in-camera tricks, etc. Even wire-fu isn't dead.
>empty whining a
Those are the MCU drones which cannot accept that the movie is a badly written comedy. Too bad for you. You can’t downvote here
Why do you think it's a badly written comedy?
>Ned to become a target and get attacked by Beck's drones..
Oh wow, Zendaya confirmed he was Spidey. They got chased, but nobody was hurt. No consequences, everything back to normal!
>y only problem with Raimifags is that they include Spider-Man 3 in
You must really be underage because people have always hated Spidey 3. Hell, I think I’m the only one on the Internet who loves the film
>His cast is the same, only with different skin colors
Yeah, no. I don't give a fuck about skin colour, but you can't say that MJ is the samethat the one from the comics, or that this Flash is the same.
They are so fucking different that they fall into the OC category with a recognizable name stapled over it.
The cgi is pretty bad in some parts in all honesty. Practical would be so cool for mysterio considering his backstory.
A blend of both.
Physical stature aside Flash was always this pathetic ineffective bully, they just changed "puny" to "penis".
MJ is an OC though, and Ned is Ganke without the Bendis royalties.
As opposed to the Raimi films
>MJ gets kidnapped by GG
>doesn't end up hurt
>May gets kidnapped by Ock
>doesn't get hurt
The only people close to Peter who got physically hurt by the consequences of the movie were the villains.
But Flash is supposed to be a drunk violent poorfag with daddy issues who eventually decides to grow up and become a decent person.
By turning him into a pathetic rich kid they are robbing the character of a lot of personality and development.
>Wanted (2008)
I'm gonna go against the grain and say that while I enjoyed the film, it is a complete disservice to the comic on basically every conceivable level. The sheer insanity of the subject matter and despicability of the main cast was part of its "charm". It's a disgusting book, but it knows what it wants to be and never looks back. The film I felt was trying too hard to be cool. And this is speaking as someone that saw the movie before I read the comic.
ok
This Flash does have daddy and mommy issues in FFH, all the parents pick him their kids up and he's standing there knowing his don't care. I agree that they changed a lot of shit but the actor said he wants to do the Flash redemption and the Flash joining the army stuff
Most of that fleshing out came years after the Lee/Ditko run. Original Flash was just a doofus dickhead (for no particular reason) with little depth who got constantly humiliated.
He can still have daddy issues when they decide to flesh him out more.
I mean, he's not going to say he doesn't want character development that could lead to him getting a potential starring role.
MJ is just doing a She's All That of sorts over 3 movies. It's important to remember that Watts is making a teenage comedy as much as he's making a superhero movie.
Well the comic wasn't out fully when the movie came out it was on like issue 3?
Have sex
Uncle Ben is most likely coming back, The Director teased at him being alive.
MCU Spidey is trash.
>just acknowledge that it's Spider-Man in name only
i hope you arent a fan of raimi spider man saying that
>The Director teased at him being alive.
You're making shit up.
That would be completely ineffectual with how little they've leaned on him up to this point. I doubt they're this stupid that they would do the stupid Parker parents bullshit with Ben instead for no reason at all.
I liked those though. They’re fun. Why is Yea Forums so autistic about comic movies?
Because the mods forgot that Yea Forums means Comics and Cartoons.
Peter is going to disappoint Ned at some point (my bet would be that his Gwen Stacy looking girlfriend gets killed through Peter failing, explaining the weird design choice they went with), and Ned is going to turn out to have a lot of pent up jealousy towards Peter, both which will lead to his betrayal and becoming a villain.
Peter will fight him alongside Venomflash and it will be pottery.
Don't worry, Raimi-only-fags are Mouseketeers now due to the first post credits scene in FFH
Wasn't there going to be a live action Anya's Ghost?
>Because Peter Parker actually faced consequences for his actions.
Have you read original Spiderman? Peter is a cocky asshole pretty much constantly and the only time it seriously bites him in the ass is when Uncle Ben dies. He vows to change his ways and immediately goes back to being a cocky asshole.
Stardew Valley
Anybody who says "the comics" unironically should be hanged
No one likes that scene you fucking idiot, and it pretty much confirms JJJ and Peter will never interact
>Did exist
>Past tense
He's dead jim
So should anyone who says "unironically". Just say "genuinely" you post-irony zoomers.
The comics are better. I like the comics, featuring this man of spider and his gallery of rogues who hate him specifically.
Good movie but op is still right
>Mysterio is not only the best Spider-Man villain, but one of the most interesting Marvel villains period
kingpin will never be beat for that.
>Ned
>becoming a villain
I’d sooner expect Deadpool to be in one of the Spider-Man films
>200% Dick Expansion Pack
Bitch, in HC, he had the choice to get the girl but let Vulture do his thing or stop him but lose her. He stopped him, and lost her.
That's not a consequence?
>ctrl+f
>No Mask
Great movie, but nothing like the comic.
i wouldn't say that MCU spiderman is the worst but holy fuck do i hate his supporting cast...
>ganke & not MJ were annoying
>liz was a cardboard cutout
>flash was not believable
...really made me wish that homecoming was just "iron man 4 featuring spiderman" i can only hope that they got better in far from home
VISUALLY it's probably one of the best comic book movies but it's biggest fault was that they were doing all 6 books (half of which were probably not even finished when production) as one movie.
it should've been an animated miniseries.
>No consequences, everything back to normal!
>Mysterio reveals Peter's secret identity
You want to talk about consequences? they showed more balls with that consequence than anything done in the Raimi movies.
lol your stupid basic bitch tactic of derailing the thread failed get fucked and eat shit
Raimi Spidey is off too.
>Edgy Pussy Blaster
Scott Pilgrim is unironically the greatest Comic ever made thus far and a masterpiece. You're the tasteless fuckwit.
>zoomer normalfaggot trying to be contrarian
You don't know what a shitty adaptation looks like.
>SM1
>MJ's about to be raped and murdered in a back ally
>Wet Shirt
>Gets saved by Spider-Man.
>isn't scared shitless about what just happened
>Upside down kiss
>Considered one of the most romantic scenes that year.
Was a kid then and all I saw was Spider-Man saving the day but now that I've rewatched it, that was pretty dark scene.
Hey, that scene was necessary to foreshadow that Batman and Superman have the same mother.
>Take the most popular and iconic hero
>Turned him into Steelbub
>Barely use Spidey sense
>Opt for some poor man's Friday
>Super advanced suit right off the bat
>No guilt or Unca Bon
>Get Uncle Tony instead
>Doesnt run on suffering, run on fan boy fume
>Flash went from a literal alpha as fuck bully / rival to a retarded fat fuck Muhamad for some reason
>Spideymong is all about secret identity
>This nigger keeps unmasking himself and get people to "accidentally" see his face in the most retarded way possible
>Already got exposed
I legit thought the grave scene was going to be uncle ben, kind of left a bad taste in my mouth when I saw it was Tony.
>stan
fuck off, interloper
>I mean CBMs that are so different from the Comics
why is okay for multiple comic continuities to be completely different but you draw the line at movies?
It's not an adaptation you twat, it's just a different universe
Lets keep Yea Forums free of summerfags like this guy
Yeah but I never gave a shit about Watchmen or Moore so this movie was ok in my book
I don't feel MCU Peter's Uncle Ben had much of an impact on Pete. That's mostly because they kinda replaced him with Tony. But I do feel like he's always looking for someone to fill in that hole Ben left with Tony, Beck and Happy. Kind of hope next movie has more Ben and explores the real reason he became Spider-Man and becomes his own person and not Iron Jr.
>everyone and their grandma basically knows about spiderman already and they pretty much did almost everything they could do with the character in the 5 movies that came prior to his introduction into the MCU.
all i can say is that if MCU spiderman bothers you guys this much then i can only imagine how much butthurt there's going to be when they introduce the xmen into the MCU because what can they really do with them that fox hasn't already done with them.
This movie was my introduction to onions culture, it filled me with disdain then and still does today
>"WORST Comic Adaptations"
You say this like the Fox X-Men movies did a wide variety of things with the characters. They didn't. Pretty much every Fox X-Men movie followed the same formula, and had the same boring early 2000's paramilitary tacti-cool aesthetic.
What can the MCU really do with them that Fox hasn't already done? They could make an X-Men movie that actually resembles the X-Men, and all the weirdness that goes with that. The MCU has a lot of issues, but getting weird is not one of them, for better or worse.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Skwad ...
This kid just got butthurt at his comment section. I guess this is what happens when you put the Raimi movies on a pedestal and nitpick like an autist.
>They didn't.
they pretty much did every (if not most of the) major or "iconic" xmen stories.
honestly it's downright cathartic to see everyone here complaining about MCU spiderman when i'm willing to bet that a bulk of them were demanding sony to give up the rights back.
and i say this as someone who thinks the rami films are overrated and didn't age well.
