You guys realize these movies don't have to be 1:1 copies of the comics right?

yeah but they could at least try harder.
Then be better then the comics, for examples see men in black/ raimi spider man/ hellboy 1 and 2
why this guy so onions-infused?
They could be good though
God, that face is cursed. The actual issue itself where it comes from is decent though.
I agree with this sentiment but at the same time I'm conflicted. Shouldnt an adaptation have the freedom to do things differently? But if they stray too far from source material, it could bring other problems. But I think I agree.
Now where was this energy with the FoX-Men and non-MCU Spidey films?
Spider-Verse isn't and I rarelt hear anyone complaining about it.
True, and Uncle Ben might even appear in the MCU after all
>I wanted to know why Watts was so reticent about Uncle Ben the first time around and so assured this time, so I asked if anything had changed between Homecoming and Far From Home.
>“We knew we weren’t going to tell an origin story, so we just avoided talking about that in too much detail,” Watts explained. “I didn’t want to reveal too much. It was a lot more sensitive of an issue to not be doing an origin story when we were talking about Homecoming ... back then, people were saying ‘Why are you making another Spider-Man movie?’ The focus was on showing people things that they had never seen before, not retelling that origin.”
>So Uncle Ben definitely existed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But Watts was quick to add a little unsolicited ambiguity into the equation. When I noted that he is now willing to say “Yes, Uncle Ben did exist in the MCU,” he replied “Yeah. I mean, we don’t know,” and then he took a long pause before adding “We never specifically say anything about him. So whether or not he’s around or not.”
>My response to that comment was probably best described as stunned silence. I didn’t ask a follow-up so much as I let out a confused “Huhhhhhh” as I pondered the possibility that Watts seemed to be implying: That Uncle Ben might not be dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At that point, Watts added “Yeah. Everything’s on the table, is how I like to say it.”
Sure, it would be great if they were better, not worse than the source though. The point of redoing something differently is supposed to be improvement of the original.
Yeah but at least a 0.1:1 would be nice
Nobody expects them to be 100% faithful to the comics, but it's possible to take too many liberties when trying to be original.
They need to be better though and I'm not seeing better. The MCU Spider-Man movies plays out like morning cartoons but stretched out and inferior due to not being animated. The sky was the limit for MCU Spider-Man and seeing this is just disappointing.
expect something genuinely good from Disney cashgrabs ...
Boy I can't wait for dead beat Uncle Ben.
I'm aware. The problem is they almost never add anything remotely interesting on its own merits. It's always either awkward subversions of events/characters from the comics, or OCs with names from the comics lazily slapped on.
Like Mulan.
Phoenix no Dragon, Evil Witch instead of Huns, no Songs just instrumental pieces. No Cross-dressing.
It'll pretty much be its own different film.
Much like Pete's Dragon. Which only similarity to the original was there was a kid named Pete and he had a dragon. That was it.
Damn I hated that movie.
Well, the first GotG was fun.
I still think they could have at least tried not to swap EVERYONE's personalities and turn Drax into even more of a colossal jobber, though.
>No Cross-dressing
What? where did you hear that?
What, and miss out on all that trannytrash money?
Nobody has ever tried to be 1:1 copies of the comics before.
I think it would be an interesting change of pace if one movie did.
the entire MCU has been so amazing by not being 1-1 that they're actually changing the comics to be more like it
See He's not dead just a deadbeat piece of shit
you nerds can shut the fuck up now
Bait? Can't even tell these days.
MCU shit belongs in Yea Forums.
None of the movies have been 1:1 copies of the comics.
But sometimes, comics can actually have good ideas and whatever cash driven replacements Disney thinks will sell more don't always surpass them creatively.
That’s not an excuse to completely deviate from the source material.
True but they should also keep the core elements of the character. Otherwise, what's the damn point? MCU Peter Parker for example abandons the themes of responsibility and the consequences of ones actions in favor of hero worship and validation.
I never hide threads on Yea Forums, but every time this fucking retarded Parker face shows up, I have to hide it. It annoys me abysmally.
>MCU Peter Parker for example abandons the themes of responsibility and the consequences of ones actions
Did you just not watch any of the movies?
Did you?
I'm fucking dying
Eh, not true at all
Right? What a god damn retard lmao Literally the verbatim theme of both. You are NOT correct my guy before you come in with the seeking validation nonsense lmao Holy fuck people are so dumb they don’t even pick up on things designed for children to at least be able to pick up.
Exactly. It’s better this way. But autists gonna ‘muh’ so hard regardless.
>Otherwise, what's the damn point?
The point is that it’s a different universe and different things can happen or develope. Not everything is going to end up exactly how you want it to turn out.
I feel people’s expectations are way too high sometimes.
Wow you sound real confident with that great argument there. Fuck off cocksucker. I mean it's not like Uncle Ben was the catalyst and driving force behind Peter Parker being Spider-Man because he's been guilt driven ever since because he decided to be a big headed prick once he got his powers. The only hero comic Peter EVER tried to live up to was Ben Parker, and he never tried to prove ANYTHING to Avengers, especially Iron Man.
And you sir need to go back, you goddamn apologist.
>Superman becomes a heartless prick like Batman
>"Shut up guys! It's not meant to be 1v1. Change is fine"
You're like those damn morons who think the elseworlds argument is a magic blanket that deflects any and all criticism
