Why would superheroes like Spider-Man even bother to save people from life or death situations when at the end of the day majority of humankind are a bunch of selfish assholes? What do you get from saving humanity?

Superheroes do it because it’s the right thing to do, user

Get the fuck out of here, Fisk.

Yeah, "the right thing to do" but is it something that you really want to do? Or do you feel like you HAVE to do it because it's the right thing to do?

You see a turtle on it's back. Do you plop it back onto its feet because you want to? Or you do it because you feel like you have to do it because it's the right thing to do? And if there is a difference between these 2 does it even matter?

Because they are better than us, and they are here to inspire us to become better people by following their example.

wat

He doesnt get anything, thats the point. There will always be assholes but there are good people too. The point of the Hero in todays world is to help those in need when you have the opportunity and power to do so.

>Why would superheroes like Spider-Man even bother to save people from life or death situations when at the end of the day majority of humankind are a bunch of selfish assholes? What do you get from saving humanity?
Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

BUT WHY

Uncle Ben teachings and death pretty much set him on that path. He was pretty selfish at the start.

Because we need heroes. And it's not just a modern thing. What do you think were Heracles , Achilles, Artu or any kind of hero from the old fiction?
Why do you think there are heroes in every new and ancient culture?

>Yes but why?

Because the myth of the hero is fascinating, as everyone, at least one time in life dream of being a hero.

That's why Peter Parker is a hero, and you're not.

Based and good answer.

Samefag

>He doesnt get anything, thats the point.

You do get something back. You get shit on and people say you're the villain

A lot of heroes do not do that to get the applause of the people and very often, those who need these kind of acknowledgments, punctually then become villans.

and? You dont do good things to look like the good guy, you do good things because you can. People see for who you are by your actions. Though there will ne people to defame you, you ignore those and keep helping those who need it.

Heroes are ways to teach people good morals. Having heroes with flaws shows us how they conquer these flaws and still do the right thing.

>You dont do good things to look like the good guy
>People see for who you are by your actions.

You're contradicting urself

Because you have, conveniently, forgotten a piece of the quote.

You're still implying that to be a humble brag you still need to brag about how good of a person you are by actions. So therefore by default you're acting like a humble brag to flex on other people how big your moral dick is.

>What do you think were Heracles , Achilles, Artu or any kind of hero from the old fiction?
Greek heroes weren't "heroes" in the way you're talking about. They weren't known for rescuing people, just being badass.

I'm not, the point is you dont do it for affection you do it cuz you can.
The whole point is not to get fame, its to do the right thing, when I say people see who you are I mean they know the truth of what and how you do things, you make your judgements from there.

>You're still implying that to be a humble brag you still need to brag about how good of a person you are by actions
no you dont. You just do the good deed and leave, maybe recieved a thankyou but even then you dont do it for thank yous.
As much as you keep using that oxymoron then you arent going to understand.

yes, sure, and all the thieves are convinced that in the same situation, the other people would also behave like them, because otherwise they would have to face the truth, and nobody likes the truth. Especially when the truth is that you are a piece of shit, and contrary to what you like to think, a lot of people even in the face of grievous situations, choose not to steal.

>Mu, they are just stupid.

So, based /Poltard, your masterplan is to explain everyone that being a hero, not even a super, just a hero, is lame?

Different era, different cultural references, different conception of heroism. In war the hero is not the one who saves people, but the one who kills the greatest number of enemies for his nation. The hero who saves people is a modern concept, but the "hero" himself has always been a figure who does extraordinary things.

Why would humans want heroes when most Heroes are all selfish assholes?

Attached: 295048.jpg (225x350, 41K)

because humans are selfish assholes and need rolemodels

>Humans are selfish assholes
>So they should look for selfish assholes to emulates
Makes sense

Because it makes the company money. That is why main canon villains always escape, why they never permanently kill off major villains, and why despite taking on alien gods and future demons, criminals still think they can beat heroes. It's all to make money because people lap this stuff up. That's all there is to it. Money. Same reason why Ash never ages, or why time never really progresses in most shows.

OPs, logic, policemen, firemen and paramedics shouldn't bother saving any one at all too.

Seriously, your lack of empathy and conviction would make you a terrible father

Fpbp. Based

You realise most of the Spider-Man comics, movies and cartoons are about exactly this right? Peter wants to go on the date with Mary Jane but he can’t because he needs to go fight Shocker etc. It all comes down to the old “with great power, comes great responsibility” the last time he let a criminal go his uncle died. He isn’t going to make that mistake again.

It’s just being decent, help others, do good

Peter's struggle to do the right thing is literally the entire point of his character from the very beginning. Is MCU Spider-man your only exposure to the character or something?

Unironically watch Batman v Superman.

Are there seriously people out there that missed the point of Spider-Man? I mean he is one of the most simple hero’s out there, designed so that even children get it. It’s even summed up in a sentence for you: with great power there must also come great responsibility! Which his origin story with Uncle Bens death then goes to illustrate perfectly.

Don't make a fuss. It's just one.

You sound like a sociopath

nigga do you even "with great power comes great responsibility"?

Get outa here, Snyder!

They do it because they want to protect people and make the world a better place. You know this is a fantasy genre, right?

Because even now there is hope for man!
