Its funny that Kelley Puckett sabotaged his own character by making some random X-Men telepath re-arrange her mind so she loses her abilities.

I disagree while the telepath was a dumb idea, her arc for getting her skills back is the core of the run.

Oh, but they did. They sabotaged Cass enough to put Barbara back (which clearly was one of the things Battle for the Cowl was meant to bring in as Oracle: The Cure was meant to do just that).

They even teased Barbara back as Batgirl in the final issues of Nightwing and BoP. Didio even said in a later issue of Steph's Batgirl that the idea was Barbara before cooler heads prevailed and made them Steph.
