Holy shit Tom King can write a superman!
STORYTIME: Superman Up in the Sky #1
Nu 52 gloves on batman?
I like that costume. Brynes with cuffs.
>Making Perry act like JJJ
Hack
Why didn't Superman just pick up the boy instead of trashing their means of transport and risking hurting the drivers????
The fuck is up with Perry?
Nah that's pretty close to Classic Perry White. Even using his old catch phrase.
Well, fuck
Perry's been in and out of that characterization for years. It's not something that was invented by Jameson. It's a pretty common boss character archetype.
Dang, this is tasty. Thanks OP.
This was brilliant, King should be writing Superman instead of that talentless and pathetic hack Bendis.
This is Tom King at his best. He's introspective. If you think about it not a lot happened in this issue, but there's a lot of feeling in it. All these cosmic threats balanced against one missing little girl.
This might be a special one.
5 more issues to go
I might just not boycott King for this one.
I wonder how involved the editors are in this. The Looney Tunes crossover with Elmer Fudd was pretty great, but behind the scenes it was an editor telling King to reign it in.
Fuck you, Action is better than anything this hack has written recently. King already shoot himself in the foot with his abysmal Batman run and the absolute disaster that was Heroes in Crisis.
calm down Bendis
Not liking douchebag Perry.
Pa Kent is alive, nice.
Isnt Atomic Skull a good guy now?
Who's the guy they're fighting?
It's from a walmart comic. You might have noticed Pa kent is also alive
He was, then Damian put him in a secret jail for his past crimes.
>it's...
Darwinism at work
I'm surprised that King is the writer. He's really toned down his trauma fetish for this story. Hopefully he tones down his trauma obsession in the other books he writes.
Honestly, if it is an obsession with trauma, I hope he finds the help he seeks. The guy can write, but I feel like his personal life and obstacles may not mesh well with the subject matter he was hired to write about.
Or fuck it, put him on Daredevil and watch the shit burn to the ground.
Wow, this was good. Now if only it wasn't the only good comic Tom King has written.
Is King physically capable of writing anything that is not depression, sad, everything sucks, life sucks, everything is shit, type of overdrama?
King is a decent writer occasionally. Theres nothing wrong with the stuff he writes about but he goes about it in a shit way, and most superheroes have hard lives believe or not.
only in one in shots
This Superman one shot has sad overtones though. Not everything has to be HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.
his kamandi issue was basically the best of the lot, darkseid war tie in was fantastic, so was elmer fudd. also his grayson issues are still great and i enjoyed omega men despite it being the somewhat like everything is shit
Everything is shit which is why DC can only produce shitty comics
They were also bank robbers.
His issues of Grayson were good.
I bought the Walmart issues when they were coming out, anyone want some spoilers? It was pulled before the final two parts came out because of controversy by the way.
>I wonder how involved the editors are in this.
This is done by the same editors who edit his Batman. The Superman editors are much worse especially post-Berganza.
> The Looney Tunes crossover with Elmer Fudd was pretty great,
Yeah that one had a different editor who does Snyder's Justice League, Ellis's Wildstorm and Williamson's Flash.
>Start Superman story with two little girls aged 5-10 dead
>and their foster parents
Where does it show that they're bank robbers?
Imagine how shitty Bendis must be to praise Tom King.
And don't tell me there's Batfags loving Bendis take on Batman too
>THE FRICKIN´ NUCLEAR MAN
Nope, not anymore>:)
Is this a souped up Mangog?
Does anyone like this new Doomsday?
No one, not even the doctor/dentists that treated Bendis whose name is based.
I'm sure he'll be fine.
Is this actually worth reading or is OP a memeposting faggot?
>This Superman one shot has sad overtones though. Not everything has to be HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY.
It doesn't have to be happy happy happy.
But there were like 5 murders in this book. Doesn't that seem unnecessarily exaggerated?
>"I can't"
Yo thats pretty hardcore not gonna lie.
Pretty good read thanks op
I like it. His Superman feels like an actual person as opposed to his autistic Batman. It’s rare to have a writer that I think does a better job with Supes than with Bats.
Wow this is actually good
Tom King doesn't understand how kids talk at all.
I hate how Tom King makes everyone stutter. It's not "realistic" dialogue, it's just annoying to read.
But Omega Men exists.
that's shit though
This isn't very good, but at least it's better than Bendis.
I like this but weren't these supposed to be aimed at children?
>Bruce being this hung up on a little girl and constantly trying to get Clark to help her
Honestly, that rings true to me. King didn't screw up that part of Batman at least.
