It’s G1 tier nostalgia. I. couldn’t stomach a single episode when I tried rewatching it. Awful.
>Anyone else think that Silverbolt should've go for best girl,Airazor?
They like never actually met.
Shit taste
loved it as a kid
Yessss
YEEEEESSSSSS
I want Blackarachnia to touch me
Animation is dated but it had some great story arcs. I think it's sad that Blackarachnia gets so much love and appreciation, and yet Airazor gets ignored and fridged in the series

Airazor is my waifu, got more art bro?
If it gets a remaster or something I'd watch it. For now it just looks weird with the early CG animation and I've never been a big fan of realistic animal alt nodes.
I'm afraid there's not much, but I'll post what I have. Perhaps a kind, passing drawfag will take pity on the old bird.
>Airazor
Boomer waifu
A better bird tf waifu is Filch
I wept my first manly tears for Dinobot, and Blackarachnia along with others similar characters like Demona gave me my evil bitch fetish
Thoughts on Botanica?
Wait, did drawfriend draw this? Awesome.
Cute!
He cute
>Dinobot wasn't their waifu
Wtf is wrong with you?
>not Terrorsaur
Why even live?
Why does BW Megatron always say "YESSSSS"?
YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS
Don't think so, just found it on pintrest
>He
You mean Not-Starscream?
Airazor is male
>AIRAZOR IS TRANSGENDER/GENDER FLUID! MY INSECURITIES AND CONFUSION MUST BE PROJECTED ONTO CHILDREN TOY ROBOTS
INFERNO AND WASPINATOR ARE ALSO TRANS BECAUSE THEIR BEAST MODES ARE FEMALE
Should I post the number #8 here or create a new thread?
The literal week after my birthday is looking bright.
i'd like to read it so, do whatever you feel is right.
I'd say post it here. Though I agree with
Post it here
I say post it here bro!
>tfw Siege Cyclonus
Yes!
>Shadow Stryker
Cyberverse one?
Why are the new comics such a dissapointment?
Wonder how the story goes
Is Cyberverse good?
Good enough.
good thread, blackarachnia was always my favourite
>tfw used to religiously watch beast wars with my dad
>tfw Dinobot was our favourite
>tfw Code of Hero
love you dad
Yeah sure post it. It was about as exciting as the new Walking Dead.
>Inferno was always my favourite
>Ask for Inferno for birthdays and christmases for years
>Never get him
>Years later find out he was a shelfwarmer
YOU BASTARDS WHY DID YOU NOT BUY HIM I COULD HAVE HAD HIM
inferno was the ant, right?
i have the toy, its a pain to transform so i just leave him in robot mode
You know, in retrospect, I don't understand the rationale in getting rid of Tigatron, Airazor, Terrorsaur and Scorponok.
>Gotta make room for new toys!
Them remaining in the cast isn't going to prevent you from adding new characters to showcase. And it's not going to cost you any extra money, the models already exist
>We don't have any immediate plans for them
And what was wrong with just having them as extras to fill out battle scenes and/or give us the option of just having a different face every now and again? On the Predacon side, after season 2, Inferno, Waspinator and Quickstrike were all superfluous mooks anyway, occassionally swapping in Terrorsaur or Scorponok wouldn't have been a detriment.
>The cast would be too bloated
...2 characters per team would really be enough to "bloat" the roster? Especially coming right off the heels of G1's roster. And then compare it to any of the animes, or Animated.
I realize they might not be fan favorites, but I happened to really like Terrorsaur and Tigatron especially, and I always felt like Airazor just wasn't even given a chance. She showed up more than halfway through season 1, and then got dumped after, what, 10 or so epsidoes?
Just announced today by Viz Media is "Transformers: The Manga" Vol 01, the first in a series of collections of the original Generation 1 TV Magazine manga from the 1980s, now set to be published in the United States for the first time!
twitter.com
The manga was previously collected by Million Publishing in a singe, huge compendium in 2002, but in the last few years, they've re-issued it in seven smaller eBook volumes, broken up by series, and also including TV Magazine story page illustrations. This first volume contains the original eight "Fight! Super Robot Lifeform" strips.
MUNKY NOT TRUKK
Deathsaurus is so fucking sexy
It's definitely my favourite transformers show, but the CG for everything except the characters is total ass.
The ending was also rushed. If it had a bit of a longer arc for the ending I'd be happy.
I can barely remember anything from Beast Machines. Might rewatch that.
Because it's a fun quirky thing tYESSSS
I prefer Beast Wars megatron to actual megatron.
>I can barely remember anything from Beast Machines. Might rewatch that.
Protip: When you watch it, try to NOT think to hard about how it's a continuation of Beast Wars
It will be a lot more enjoyable if you view it for it's own merits and shortcomings rather than picking out every instance where it doesn't connect perfectly with BW.
There will still be a lot of shit (Blackarachnia and Primal spring to mind), but a lot of other things will be more palatable that way
>to NOT think to hard
Beast Machines was my baby. Any of you losers wanna buy a comic company?
Holy shit, it was a fucking typo
Take it like a man.
Imagine if he never worked on Beast Machines
Paradise.
Oh cool Hound finally appears
>What does Yea Forums think of Beast Wars?
love it
>Best TF show?
yes
>Anyone else think that Silverbolt should've go for best girl,Airazor?
I do... now... they'd go together pretty fucking well. Considering Tigatron's role was originally going to be Wolfang, that makes even more sense.
>Thoughts on Beast Wars slowly coming back as characters such as Cheetor and Blackarachnia show up in Cyberverse?
in what now? er, well I'm happy they've been showing up in toyline stuff, but I can't afford masterpieces. I wish there were versions at a third of the price with 75% of the articulation and attributes, just cutting out the unnecessary shit and maybe fixing some shit that shouldn't be hard (should actually be easier) to get right, like the back of primal's gorilla legs or his hollow elbows..
Because he had a stroooke
I never had any trouble with inferno.. you just fold the terminal leg segments up into the knees and elbows, stand the fucker up, fold the ant head down, split it apart.. done.
>You mean Not-Starscream?
Well he is a Starscream fanboy
God damn it, those eyes are such dog shit.
The same could be said about Transformers: Cybertron. Much better by itself than trying to link it to Armada and Energon.
>Terrosaur just falls in lava and fucking dies.
Had a big laugh at that.
It would have been Waspinator had the writers not loved abusing the bug so much.
The best TF show is Animorphs.
>You get to live...to suffer more
Why universe hate Waspinator.
People just hate bugs.
>What does Yea Forums think of Beast Wars? Best TF show?
It was probably the best written Transformers show (in the west) until maybe very recently. It's at least on the same level as Gargoyles or Batman TAS.
Like, desu, G1 is cute but it really never rises above just being an 80's kids show with wacky plots, stereotypical villains and cheap animation.
BW took a lot of concepts from G1 and expanded on them to make some halfway decent science fiction for adolescent audiences.
Also, in my opinion, Beast Wars kept the franchise alive through the 90's and beyond.
Which would you say surpassed it?
Do you think a Beast Wars reboot or similar style TF show would work again or was it a product of it's time?
Not that user, but I very much think it can work.
To be honest I haven't watched much since Cybertron (Armada Trilogy is very all over the place in quality).
Well, it hasn't been surpassed yet but RiD was kinda nice and Rescue Bots was better than expected. Beast Wars still remains king.
Froid's my favourite character in nu-IDW so far
Idk how to feel about this but he's so delightfully repugnant
I hope he gets a small and affordable toy, preferably Kreon-sized
Legends would be pretty fine.
Why did they get rid of that size class oh why why why
It was the comfiest and most affordablest size class
I’m calling it, Sideswipe is going to be best boy this time.
>falling for the jap gag dub
Because Warden is money hungry and probably evil.
The thing about Beast wars megatron is that he's a GREAT villain but he's, well, NOT megatron, if that makes sense?
Megatron as he's been solidified is more of a straight forward and brutal warlord, and while he WILL use pretty cunning plans, he's less about deception and backstabbing like that. Beast wars Megs uses deception and deceit as his first and most loved tactic, and while he CAN throwdown, he prefers deception.
I'd love to see BW megs again, but with a different name.
Gnashteeth perphaps? Nah, but some other name would work. He's truly a great character.
goddamn you're a sad loser
Are there happy losers?
Based
Wouldn't say it's the BEST, but it's pretty good.
Pure shit.
Hey thread! How's everyone doing?
Honestly, BW was pretty awful so BM being nothing like it was a great thing to me.
Just prime!
>tfw you love Beast Machines but everyone hates it
Feels bad man
Eat shit
I'm here with you my man.
I agree, Airazor is really under appretiated.
Maybe Takara'll make a masterpiece of her, I hope.
I mean Galaxy Force was originally it's own separate continuity anyways....it just works better for the Cybertron version to be its own thing.
Waspi got love in BM, oddly enough
>Hasbro has idea for series being third part to ongoing cartoons they had done prior
>Japan says "Nah, fukku dat shit" and makes it an unrelated show
>but the designs are still based on the prior two shows
>Hasbro says "hey well fuck it I'm sure we can dub on our ORIGINAL INTENT even though this show was never made to be that"
Unicron Trilogy was a goddamn trainwreck and it didn't even have any trains in it.
I know this is more of a /toy/ question but how many of you Yea Forums have TF merch? And how many of you browse /tfg/?
I disliked Beast Machines initially when it first came out. It was really more some of the designs and weird running/action animation cycles- but for a while I only had the one initial viewing of the series as it came out.
I recently have watched through the series several times since then and have gained an appreciation for it. I really want some supplementary material for it- some new comics, some more updated figures, etc etc.
Eh, at least she got some lip service when that fusion of tigertron and airazor showed up. Flipping terrorsaur and scorponoc fell into a lava pit and that was that.
Remaster/remake of BW when? New graphics?
Blackarachnia is in Cyberverse? Confirmed? Source?
Holy shit, just watched cyberverse and it's actually good!
I have quite a lot of TF merch and I visit /tfg/ regularly. Granted, I only started this year.
Fantastic, thank you!
She IS cute.
I got quite a bit, yeah! Definitely got a whole hive of bees lol
BASED
well she has merchandise in the line
and she was re-trademarked not too long ago.
This is as good a confirmation as any.
>All machine. All cop. Robocade.
How many Bees is a hive?
OP I think you mean BEASTIES
youtube.com
Also it's pretty damn good, cgi has aged like poo, but it still somewhat holds up since they're robots and very cartoony looking.
>has tits
I want to belueve, weird she has preda on logo but box has decepticon one
I think these are 'grandfathered' in. Like her boobs are an important part of the character's design. Which is nice, since she'll keep them for any future BA.
It's all fine. YEEEEEES,
Most charismatic Megatron.
>cgi has aged like poo,
I'm tired of hearing this.
I wish I could fuck Cyclonus.
There are people out there who think Toy Story looks terrible.
What drawfriend, they all left us
Considering there is an autist who chased off Maverick out of here and /toy/...
Ironically they seem to have done Dinobot "Too good".
Specifically, he seems to be a sacred cow that they don't want to put into any series because they're afraid of messing him up and pissing off fans. (Apart from making starscream in Armada take inspiration from him. And starscream's still about the only reason to watch that show)
Hopefully, that fucking moron doesn't chase off JP.
Heard Waspinator,Primal and Silverbolt with Blackarachnia will show up in Cyberverse, probably Megatron too.
>They may be keeping Blackarachnia's role similar
And just like that the Cyberverse guys are better than the ones handling Animated.
Oh i will
buzz off.
What does Yea Forums actually think of Cyberverse? Is it good? How do you rank TF shows?
Will we see more RID2015 characters in the future? Like Strongarm(my waifu) and Steeljaw? Steeljaw is a great villain.
Cyberverse is good, it's not the best but it's nice. Honestly, there's too much shitpost going on to rank TF shows, but the best is still Beast Wars. Prime is divisive and Animated has fell from grace in later years.
I wish! She is mine too and Steeljaw was similar to BW Megatron, though BW Megs was far more theatrical.
I thpught Prime was the best, what happened?
I haven't seen cyberverse yet, I heard it was just like web shorts instead of legit episodes?
11 minutes each, you can find all episodes on youtube
Megatron is my hero is my favorite
>still has tits
How did they get away with this in 2019? They made Arcee flat in Bumblebee!
Thoughts on Botbots and Tiny turbo changers Yea Forums?
>Mattel makes She Ra flat
>Blackarachnia still has tits
Is Hasbro shall I say,based?
The episodes are like 10 minutes each. But thats just the way of the world now, a lot of cartoons getting 10 min run time. For some idiot reason studios think that anything longer will lose the attention of kids, which is foolish.
Anyways, Cyberverse is just ok'ish. Its not terrible, but its not good either. The designs are nice but the action scenes are terrible. The seekers have literal guns strapped to their arms but choose to run up to someone and try to swing a punch instead (and usually miss). I can accept a degree of this in a show, but its really really bad in Cyberverse. The story is also going really really slow. Almost nothing has happened in an entire season. What usually takes place in 1-2 episodes in any given season of TF has taken them all season to almost do, which is introducing the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Also, windblades is extremely bland, and Dinobot sucks. I can't stand his scholarly side and the reason for him being dumb in dino mode is in itself dumb and poor writing. Also, all the Deceptions are either idiots or poor imitations of their typical selves. Starscream just yells at people when he even manages to show up. Its just a weak show all around.
Toy Story 1 was a marvel when it was released.
is this the only gen without human characters?
This is one nice thing about Cyberverse, humans have had no role in it what so ever, even though its on earth. I must admit, that has been nice.
>its on earth
I'm replying to someone about TF's on Yea Forums... I'm bot paying the most attention to my grammar. Thanks for the attempted lesson, but its more being lazy than it is ignorance.
>I'm bot paying the most attention to my grammar.
*not
That's a good question- I'm not sure. I've gotta have over a hundo of them; not as much as other hives I've seen, but I'm pretty picky about the Bees I buy.
I'm in and out of these things because of work.
>tfw if Beast Wars will cime back Bumblebee will be part of it
Bumblebee Cheetor rivalry when?
>cime back
You had one job.
Ima lazy user
It has come to light just how messy the show was behind the scenes.
Was she gonna say Froid? She was gonna say Froid, wasn't she?
What Bees you don't buy?
Bumblebee should be a predacon
I love you
Shut up Boco, like Blackarachnia or not?
Yessss
I think that for what they are, they are pretty neat. A few stinkers, though.
BotBots are neat.
Someone have a screencap of Megatron in a bath tub with a rubber duck?
It's the only transformers related thing that I like. And I liked it a lot.
I hope Platinum makes a Beast Wars game like with Devastation some day.
Would be ideal?
Froid?
Really?
Froid!?
I've wanted to watch it but the DVD quality is atrocious.
Can't the show be re-mastered in HD?
During the RotF, DotM, and Prime era, there were Bees that were really not my style. ESPECIALLY in RotF. These days I just buy Bees that interest me. Rescue Bots has a ton of Bee repaints, but I don't like that OG RB Bee enough to buy it 5 or 6 times. I try to get all the new scans from RB, though.
I also only got the one Bee from Cyberverse because all the Bees in it's Season 1 toy catalog aren't my bag because of the really bad clunky gimmick mechanics and thin-feeling plastic. That new armored Bee in Cyberverse looks great though.
I would have 100% loves a Predacon Bee in BEEst Wars.
I love YOU.
I would love this.
Oh yeah, first Preview Bumblebee from RotF really wasn't that good of a toy. But what about Battle Blades? Regular DotM Deluxe Bumblebee/Cyberfire is nice, though.
>cyberverse Bee
The warrior/deluxe scale one? Tbh I've only bought very few Cyberverse toys because the toys just aren't very appealing. Spark armor seems way better, though.
>making Mcdonald's TFs look badass
Witchcraft.
>mcdonalds boys and girl
Oh wow....thank you for this.
Your art is awesome! Will they ever make a Charbee (Charlie and Bee) comic?
I love you more
>somehow the Knightformers look even worse
yikes
Glad you're still here anyway.
>108538057
I’m not in the mood, bait
I still have my original one. Ant bros 4 lyfe.
People who watch beast wars and enjoy it.
Battle Blades Bumblebee is my favorite Bee figures from the Bay-series, and probably one of my favorite Bee figures in general.
Cybefire Bumblebee is my headcanon shelf SG Movie Bee.
I'd buy BW McD figure repaints in a heartbeat. I've always loved these figures.
Aw, buddy- thanks a ton!
I love YOU more! I hope you're doing well today, user!
I'm always in these forums; I just sometimes post because I don't want to come across like I'm trying to get attention for popping in here lol
Still impressed Murderbee is canon.
Bumblebee cannot fundamentally ever turn into a Bumblebee.
its part of the deal Hasbro made in getting the trademark back.
Makes sense- but what about GOLDBUG.
Dragontron
Dagon
You mean HighMoon
No he didn't.
>Waspinator
>Silverbolt
Goddammit...
Don't bring back anyone worthwhile, like Tarantulus, Dinobot, or Rhinox...bring back a couple pieces of shit
>I love YOU more! I hope you're doing well today, user!
I-I'm not but thank you
I hope things get better for you; I'm sorry they're not going well right now.
It was to raise stakes and save some money on voice actors.
Ew, no. BW MEgatron having the hubris of naming himself Megatron says so much more about his character than slapping some awkward Japanese name from some obscure freebie toy for TFwiki nerd cred.
This is also the case with Tarantulas, Inferno, Rampage, and a few others. Too much fear about living up to the legacy means no one wants to reuse them, thus they fall into obscurity.
Oh no, that wiki sucks.
Thank you fren
I hope you are well too
No. I highly doubt Mainframe (now, Rainmaker) saved all those CGI assets.
The Australian DVDs have slightly better picture quality only because the show was rendered at the PAL standard of 576 lines of resolution vs. the 480 lines for NTSC.
cringe
based
My favourite characters were always the toys who didnt appear in the show. Like the hammerhead shark with bird wings, Optimus Minor and so many more I cant recall anymore.
Waspinator used to be a Bumblebee style car in Animated, so I'd rather see Waspinator as a car in more G1 series if it's really not possible for Bumblebee to be a bee.
Scalawag!
I still can't believe the connection to g1 was never planned, and the result of fans complaining that TRUKK NOT MUNKEY. Its like a reverse modern star wars. I vanr believe the ancient alien thing worked out so well. The just jammed all these scifi tropes in there. Most actual scifi these days doesnt even turn out this good.
They snuck in Primal's swords which was kind of weird.
I have a fetish for seeing bumblebee get abused
away with your shit taste fag
You guys are absolutely entitled in your opinion and you can like BM all you want and that's totally valid
But I will never forgive how dirty they did my boy Rattrap
Repent
Is it more arrogant or less arrogant than the original megatron naming himself after Megatronus though?
Megatron named himself after what is virtually a god, while Beast megs named himself after a "mortal" historical figure.
Stop talking about your bad fan fiction.
what the hell are you talking about? Beast wars megatron named himself after megatron from G1, while autobot/decepticon megatron named himself after megatronus, the fallen.
How are you saying this is a fanfiction? I'm just asking what's more arrogant, to name yourself after what is essentially a quasi-religious figure to your people, or to name yourself after an incredibly important historical character?
G1 Megatron would be more arrogant in that case.
There is no religious figures in G1.
Remember that Fuzor killer whale with mammoth? Imagine a titan class figure of that
BW Megatron never named himself after the original G1 Meg,he named himself after a religious figure from the covennant of Primus in BW.
user, that would be utterly glorious.
In Season 1 he says takes the name of G1 Megatron in an act of rebellion against Maximal tyranny and in Season he takes his name after the Megatron figure in the Covenant of Primus, but Season 3 Megatron was nuttier than a shithouse rat so I wouldn't necessarily believe him.
>tfw you haven't watched BW in 15 years and still know stuff like that
what a show
Transmetals and Fuzors are the best
Prove me wrong
WELL THAT'S. JUST. PRIME.
You know, I don't even remember much of Airazor or Tigertron. They would just go off on scouting missions for a long time. It's no wonder they decided to scrap them.
Would Yea Forums watch a 2D Beast Wars cartoon done in this style?
As much as I do like Beast Machines all of the characters looked ugly as fuck.
Y'know,a new Beast Wars cartoon could be done to be ambigous with it's continuity like Rescue Bots is now.
Imagine if Animated continued,we could've get a Beast Wars spin off series. If Prime also continued they would've introduce maximals and predacons for a beast wars season. Funny that BW was plannes for both later but got cancelled. I think a new BW show doesn't need to be dependent on a existing cartoon and should stand on it's own. Or they could do one from the netflix WFC series?
Some of the transmetals looked like shit though. The best looking one was probably Tarantulas.
I'd want it in 3D again. Shows off the shininess of the metal a lot better.
Forgot to mention Optimal Optimus. I had the action figure of him. Love that garish color scheme.
To be honest, the first few episodes are pretty generic and meh, but I'll be damned if the story does not pick up fast. Season 2 has some of the best writing for a cartoon I've ever seen.
first half of season 1 < second half of season 1 < season 3 < season 2
3d sucks
It'd look even better with modern technology.
Wasn't him stupid expensive and a worse toy than Rampage, the manta and deluxe Optimal/Megatron.?
Mattel murdered Monster High because it was selling better than Barbie and popular with teenagers and adults.
That's stupid, shouldn't they be happy? They get money,no wonder they face bankruptcy now
Cyberverse toyline is a disgrace, man, can t believe this is the same company that made animated
>shouldn't they be happy?
The vanity product of the wrong executive made more money than the vanity product of the executive that got a raise or more pull at corporate.
When will IDWmake good stuff again? I want Furman back
BEASTIES!
Mattel facing bankruptcy always brings a smile to my face.

>ruining a show that had a good ending
Why.
Recently picked this VF copy up at one of my local comic book shops for only $8 USD.
Fuck, it went sideways! Fucking phones!
I’m sorry.
Because this Megatron has character outside of "he's the leader of the bad guys"
Shame they refuse to let people film this
It's the best because there aren't any humans to get in the way, and they use actual guns instead of gay ass lasers. It has no annoying weeb influences, has great voice actors, and some decently written episodes. The designs worked well with the limited 3DCG format, but it's still ugly as sin by modern standards.
The Voyager probe was always a thing and there's ancient ATT posts of early press screenings that prove it. they always planned on it being Earth.
I don't really care which one is more or less arrogant, just that the name "Gnashteeth" is embarrassing and Taserface tier. Imagine him detailing his masterplan and capping off with calling himself GNAAAASHTEEEETH. Just silly.
Because he watched too much Gordon Ramsay TV shows on the golden disk.
>no weeb influence
Imagine wanting transforming super robots without japanese influence. Instead it had shitty loony toons jokes that don't fit robots.
Who do they think they are, Funpub?
>It has no annoying weeb influences
Oh user, you know how transformers originated don't you?
Hey at least we have Beast Wars 2 and superior Optimus
this is a fucking digimon
If you want to call BW megaton one too then sure.
For anyone not in the know, that ending is not that great.
We tried anime Transformers and its never been great.
user, Transformers as a series is and forever shall be tied to Japan.
Do you know why?
What ending? Season 4 doesn't end anything and undoes the good end of Season 3.
>Blackarachnia STILL evil
>Sari solves everything by being the among the biggest Mary Sue in years
>Sentinel commits major treason and gets off easily
>Prowl reduced to a plot device
>Blackarachnia still evil
I'd say it's an ending and it sucks.
To be fair, the anime transformers shows were the usual toy anime for kids. It's never been done properly yet.
And yet every time Japan tries to make their own TF series, its childish, juvenile, and disappointing.
>its childish, juvenile, and disappointing
A mirror image of the fandom. How apropos.
Name one good fandom.
Cartoons
Trukkmunky
>its childish, juvenile, and disappointing.
Welcome to transformers since gen 1.
Of course. I have the empty wallet to show for that. There's a difference between being weeby and being Japanese.
just let Studio Trigger make a non kiddie anime version of Transformers.
Transformers would become popular in Japan again.
Frasier
You just know they are dying to make one. Hasbro/Tomy should let them.
Japan didn't make the show about the farting rhino though
Nope, they made the show with the mexican stereotypes (that I don't mind too much)
Nah. It will be more of a old timer and youngling situation. Bumblebee being this old bot who saw and did it all while Cheetor is this young bot that would remind Bumblebee a lot of his old self.
So what's the thing behind it because I hear it for the first time.
Wouldn't mind a 2D if done well, but 3D is best suited for BW.
Depends. With today's tech, and with competent people putting effort and being creative with it, 3D can be pleasing for the eyes.
>The Australian DVDs have slightly better picture quality only because the show was rendered at the PAL standard of 576 lines of resolution vs. the 480 lines for NTSC.
goddamn I hate this shit so fucking much
Even back then they managed to misplace models.
Okay, am I the only one who saw the thumbnail and did not see that as Megatron's arm-cannon?
>So what's the thing behind it because I hear it for the first time.
another company has the trademark to the name Bumblebee that are bee toys.
Hasbro's Bumblebee trademark is for the robot that turns into a car, if he turned into a bee, that's not allowed.
Interesting.
That's a pretty suggestive pose for Beast Megatron.
Dirty is being generous.
Hey, don't hate Rattrap because after Beast Wars shitting on him he became a really valuable team asset in Machines AND gets to plow that field every night.
Oh yeah, he got that plant wife. I guess everyone likes Botanica, that's nice. She should get a toy.
Weirdest part is she was a push by Hasbro, to do something new with the franchise, and yet no toy at all.
Arcee was, what? Almost 30 years? And she was pushed by Hasbro as well. Who knows, maybe she shows up in Cyberverse.
Actually she was a push by a writer who had a daughter who watched the show. When Transformers started, Hasbro was firmly in the "these are boy toys, boys don't play with girls" mentality.
Fair enough. It's been so weird it took so long, here's hoping Botanica gets luckier.
Which company is that?
Anyone doing TFcon this weekend?
These two look so cute as chibis.
Bat Optimus was the best. Fucking prove me wrong.
Bat Optimus is my favorite.
me.
when i get my hotel room number, perhaps i might hold a /tfg/ meet up in it.
I can't
>Best TF show
Nope, It's not Transformers Prime, i've been marathoning through the first season and honestly it's a chore to watch, You can't honestly tell me it's better than G1, Animated, Prime or even Armada, Take off your nostalgia goggles
Ooh! That'd be neat- I'd be all for it if I'm not too busy trying to catch up with freelance or commissions!
>You can't honestly tell me it's better than G1
Oh boy, a gee wunner.
>Only skimmed through my shit
I said Prime was the best one, Both Beast Wars and G1 are horribly aged
Why didn't they repaint him as BW comic Megatron?
Shatter is cute
This
More ar?t
TRUK, NOT MUNKKY!
I still want to hear Aoi Yuki's Shatter.
i'll let y'all know if i do.
Prime was never good, prove me wrong. You can't.
Beast Hunters Predaking is best PREDAKING
Thanks user. That might be interesting.
Why was this such a deal?
Until he's OBARI AS FUCK, no.
I have like, 20 pieces of art lol.
It would have worked if they didn't try to play the show as serious.
Prime was awesome. Change my mind.

Does Yea Forums like transmetals or fuzors?
Is Yea Forums excited for a Bumblebee sequel?
When I was younger I'd say fuzors but now I'm more interested in Transmetals. And you bet, it has to be as good as the first one or at the very least done with care. The first one was that well received.
I will never not be upset about how quickly they killed her off.
I didn't like it but why should I try and make you think something you enjoyed was bad?
First proper female with a toy. Hasbro has to fuck it up somehow, no matter what.
I’m definitely excited for a Bee sequel.
Same
Autistic genwunners were always a thing in nerd franchises
Man, Bee gets uglier with each revision.
Didn't watch G1
watching ye olde transformers transform into cassette tapes in the season 2 final was hilarious
Agreed, it's a very wtf moment wothout context.
>wothout
You wot, m8?
Woth or wothout you?
>Does Yea Forums like transmetals or fuzors?
Transmetals are based. Virtually every single character who got the upgrade looked way cooler in robot mode, and the beast modes getting equiped with additional vehicle parts makes them, imo, a lot more enjoyable to people who aren't crazy about beastformers I confess that I'm one of them. I loved BeastWars, but a good vehicle mode will always trump a beastmode.
Fuzors are really hit or miss. I really feel like the cartoon went with two of the less visually interesting Fuzors. Personally, I feel like Air Hammer should have been the maximal Fuzor. Great robot mode, and a more unique animal blending then Silverbolt. And on the Predacon side, the really didn't have any cool Fuzors, imo
He's already better than Roberts' Froid. Every Roberts villain besides Overlord, Tyrest, and Pharma was shit.
>See Beast Wars
>Watch the Season 2 finale which brings back Ravage
>The final scene at the end of Part 1 where he turns into a cassette and cranks out a badass rock riff as he and Megatron shoot up the skies
They're reading the actual S4 opening script, not the fan comic ending.
Kind of, except Tyrest was shit, too.
Overlord was good in Last Stand, but after that, he's schtick was already played out and seeing him show up didn't impress me much
I would say his Deathsaurus was pretty cool, but we got next to nothing with him.
Pharma is golden boy though. He was fun.
Hopefully this one is much better.
Is there any franchise without those? Jesus christ, TMNT is a clusterfuck in that regard.
Fun character, fun designs, fun toys. Got me into Transformers and collecting toys in general. Got to experience the "Trukk not Munky" days of TF forum discussions.
>Got to experience the "Trukk not Munky" days of TF forum discussions.
How was it?
why the fuck can we not get enough non meme decepticon deluxes
wait shit this is Yea Forums fuck
It's most likely fine, though.
>was given SS deluxe Dropkick but receipt is from a rando anime store
>only options are to pick among SS deluxe BB, Ratchet (DotM), Dropkick, KSI Sentry, BB Bee, Cogman (buying it, then returning Crowbar), or love him despite the fact that I can never display him in his alt mode
Is there any way to return it and pay like an extra $10 to get SS Starscream?
I watched some of cyberverse, and I actually liked it. Maybe it was just because there were no humans.
It's better than it looks. I like that they did actually do some worldbuilding for once in a cartoon.
Love him. He deserves your love.
>Depends. With today's tech, and with competent people putting effort and being creative with it, 3D can be pleasing for the eyes.
It could be pretty well done and still remain faithful to the original CGI designs:
youtube.com
Man. When I saw this for the first time I was pretty surprised on how well done it is.
>if they didn't try to play the show as serious
>Like the time Ratchet decided to help the human kids with their science experiment only to end up a control freak, The kids had to show up with Sci-fi contraptions to school
>Or Knockout, Who's entire role is comedic relief
>Or the time Starscream and Knockout created a zombie outbreak and tried to hide it from Megatron
>tfw no Onyx Primal
Yes
Perhaps it's better that way
>origin story
Is it too much to ask for a fun and lighthearted series? Kind of like the early days of MTMTE, ya know, before it got stupid.
b-but I've already watched G-1
>Is it too much to ask for a fun and lighthearted series? Kind of like the early days of MTMTE, ya know, before it got stupid.
Transformers Animated was probably the last "fun" Transformers cartoon we'll ever get. It flopped big time, so Hasbro's never gonna risk anything other than "just like the live-action movies but with 1/1000th the budget" CG series ever again.
It didn't flop, in the slightest. It actually was pretty successful but Cartoon Network decided to act like asses once again and fucked Hasbro over. So for their new show Hasbro decided to ape the movies in design and add them an 'Animated' coat of paint, and that's how we got Prime. Nevertheless, subsequent budget cuts basically made another show like Animated quite a longshot. It doesn't help that the guy currently in charge of Transformers wants G1 all the time to an absurd degree.
Cyberverse is kind of like that.
I still don't get why they didn't merge Cyberverse with Siege.
Most of it was serious, despite that you mentioned. Kinda clashed tone-wise, to be frank.
amazon.com
Given the 272-page count and the mention of "The Great Transformer War" (the second of the two "2010" mangas) in the summary, it looks like Viz's Vol 1 is, in fact, the first two Japanese volumes in one, collecting all the manga that runs concurrent with the US cartoon.
My favorite was always Evil Clever Dog.
That means the collected editions may take shorter to get all published.
>And on the Predacon side, the really didn't have any cool Fuzors, imo
Skyshadow was great. I really liked the kaijin vibe from all the Predacon fuzors.
Prime is boring.
Getting slight Biollante vibes from this guy.
shrug
its even weirder now with Shadow Striker appearing in the IDW reboot.
Using the exact same design too. It's nothing short of puzzling.
How?
Firstly, I'd say the little idiosyncrasies of G1, Beast Wars, and Animated, the other 3 popular series, is what gives them a distinctive charm that makes those series favorites. Prime has much fewer of those; in a technical sense of animation and writing its the most solid put together series. However, it completely lacks any sort of charm. Everything feels by the numbers.
Stakes feel artificial and rarely changed. interesting characters are squandered. Even the music isn't particularly memorable. All in all it just isn't fun to watch.
I remembered when I was 9 after getting into transformers through michael bay and the war for cybertron games thinking "transformers shouldn't turn into animals", then trying to watch G1, giving up, and some how beast wars was really easy to watch.
Japan really does her right.
Why are bee and raf giving eachother fuck me eye....
Well, he did stop appearing in RiD.
That's because transformers turning into animals makes sense in the context of Beast Wars. In G1 the dinobots were obviously only there to sell toys because they just switched from humanoid robots to obviously robotic dinosaurs in a time period where dinosaurs are extinct. Hardly "robots in disguise".
I do like the Dinobots G1 origin, but it fundamentally goes against going in disguise.
Am I the only one that wants to see the new Cybertron Cartoon go full Depressing? There hasn't been a good representation of the Cybertron Civil War yet.
What about comedy AND depression
youtube.com
Wasn't MTMTE kinda like that at times?
Yeah, I was gonna say
>Roberts' early MTMTE was perky SOL and wartime depression, and knows British comedy, it should be fun!
but I thought I'd get yelled at
Hopefully there's a rule against bringing SJW politics into children's cartoons, so he can just do his Whovian stuff now and then but mostly give us what we want
Maybe
All cartoon are political now, though Hasbro does prevent that in theirs.
I want Cybertron politics though
I want eight seasons of Xaaron starring in a modern-day Yes, Minister
I'd watch that. Tell me more.
transforming into animals is much more interesting than vehicles, the only cool vehicles were flyers
Just making it up at the top of my head:
Pre-war Cybertron, Xaaron does legal cases (public defender, civil rights, sometimes murder and Nightbeat, Prowl, etc favourites get involved) and we learn more about different cities and cultures SOL style, sometimes with a happy and absurd ending I guess, sometimes you get depressing Detective Conan endings. Other times he sorta just gets paperwork done in a city and fucks around and randos at bars or whatever tell him a story
He gets pushed into politics bc he's p sharp and the season 1 stuff of public defending and befriending people in cities made him popular. Obviously you'd face a p bizarre but light-heartedly corrupt competitor, and through some cunning he manages to come out on top. After that you'd probably get to see more Decepticons bc you'd obviously have to politically deal with them.
Maybe the ending might be sort of ironic, in that he celebrates the height of his glory and power, while it's known to the audience that within the week the war would start and he'd be part of a dingy underground resistance? I just like fictional politics and Xaaron..
Either that or put it in an elseworlds non-G1 setting where you just have different political parties and there's no war at all, just SOL with Autobots and Decepticons having a good time. Idk much about Rescue Bots or Cyberverse but apparently they're p light-hearted.
Yes, Minister starts off with a bumbling but well-meaning minister, his secretary, and a civil service honcho who prefers to keep the status quo - the minister eventually becomes PM (and the other two get bumped up as well) and sometimes gets a victory or two over the civil service. Xaaron's too smart/cunning to be the bumbling guy, so maybe it'd be minister Optimus or Windblade and civil service Xaaron? Idk who watched the show
Sounds solid and I should watch the actual show.
Thank you chief..!
Thought of a thing, bc I remembered this other comic that I'll mention at the bottom.
>Xaaron's just chilling
>his smug rival (rival firm? prosecutor? politician?) or maybe just circumstances ask him to represent Rampage
>BW fans know enough about BW Rampage to know he's batshit, others might already call the ending
>"Please represent this maniac even though he'll probably get executed or get his spark extracted, also he's a deranged murderer and he might just kill and eat you instead"
"G-great thanks"
>discussion with Rampage somehow go well, he's been mostly quiet - kinda concerning but it's a nice gift horse so w/e
>on the day of his hearing he broke out of prison
>there's a trail of destruction with bodies everywhere
"Oh fuck that's my fucking client shit shit"
>Xaaron runs to retrieve him
>while running, he sort of stops and glances at some of the bodies
>it's a cameo of some coneheads and etc. Decepticons that Prime ran over in his warpath during the movie but that's not why he looked
>his journey leads him to a cemetery, where in the corner Rampage is sitting in front of a really shoddy tombstone
"Haah.. so there you are."
>"..... The weather was surprisingly pleasant today."
"......"
>"......."
"I noticed that, despite the destruction you've caused, you didn't actually kill anyone" Xaaron says snidely but sadly as well.
>"No. Not today."
>there in front of Transmutate's grave is a lone flower placed by Rampage
"Let's go back."
>Rampage presumably agreed and is put in the paddy wagon outside the cemetery; a vexed and confused Prowl sort of gives Xaaron an irritated glance
>throughout the episode, it was made clear to the audience how violent and irredeemable Rampage was during and after the war, and how his hearing/trial was just a formality (show, don't tell...)
>Xaaron, at court, makes a surprising speech about how his client too, is a fellow bot, and how he too knows of love - maybe get an actual writer to write this part
>last scene is of Rampage imprisoned, somehow implied w/o dialogue that he instead received a life sentence, staring blankly yet sadly out the window, where some flowers grow
>these flowers and the one he placed on TM's grave should have her colour scheme as well
Remembered that page of Mr Freeze making it snow on his wife's birthday that gets posted on Yea Forums now and then and sorta thought this up
Damn, that was beautiful.
It wasn't that great but thank you.. Thought it might be Quake (bc nuIDW) but realized that there was a nice homage opportunity that'd be easier to implement bc TF fans would fill in the gaps. It's a cheap trick but it works
I was looking for a picture of Quake but found this instead. Whom else should I think/write about? tfw qt Asian one-headed Quintessa gf never
A war that kills an entire planet should be quite sad
Maybe the constructicons? Or your pic, see how Quintessa likes being stuck in our world.
>she gives up after failing to convince anyone to wake up Unicron
Yes but we can laugh at the sad absurdity of the situation
I don't want the constructicons to be my gf hmf
>Quintessa (haven't watched the kinos after DotM)
>first-person narrative about the disgusting/wretched Cybertronians or however her characterization was
>over time her wording becomes less cruel, whilst she fails to complete her mission
>at the end she does indeed admit that she probably subconsciously didn't want to wake Unicron up, she's found a home
My weakness of trying to find the good in everyone (in fictional settings, not IRL haha) lets me come up with heartfelt narrative cliches uhuhu
Interesting. What could happen next? Does she aid the Autobots? Or the Decepticons?
Cute picture! I feel like she'd sort of trick both sides behind the scenes/background and get them to get along (still have not seen AOE/TLK)
If I had friends I would want all of them to get along c:
Airazor was only male in the Japanese dub to my knowledge
I wonder what the odds are of beast wars ever getting a revival series? Hell I'd settle for a comic book series.
Nice trips
Sadly probably not for a long time. With Bumblebee, 80s and retro aesthetics are going to be the norm for at least another decade.
Nice. Given how the movie ends, this is feasible. The Autobots and Decepticons just make peace and live their days on Earth.
I'd say we'll get that in the next five years.
>The Autobots and Decepticons just make peace and live their days on Earth.
I really like this, and that's why I liked the legends stuff.
>war stories + a billion macguffins that could've been used to revive someone = neat war stories that can be in a G1 or non-G1 setting, albeit one with no ultimate consequences
>post-war peacetime + a billion continuities/characters that can meet and greet each other = neat SOL stories that can etc etc one with fun consequences
Say what you want about based Sakamoto but it is the ultimate TF setting
We were very fortunate to have Sakamoto.
I'm kinda excited for this. I know nothing about him but like that they are expanding out.
Same, but he does look very cool at the very least.
Hear hear
Honestly yeah.
it definitely had a better ending than the first IDW continuity that's for sure. where most of my favourites died or had miserable lives while characters i either didn't care about or worse despise got better endings.
The fight scenes aren't, Optimus Vs Megatron has has to be one of the best fight scenes in a cartoon I've seen, I like the way they pay attention to continuity as well, Unlike Beast Wars or G1, You couldn't just skip any episode because they all had an impact over the story, In Beast Wars Terrorsaur killed off Megatron with some strange power source and becomes leader, Until he loses it and Megatron comes back, Then Megatron doesn't do anything, The show continues as if nothing happened, Also Prime had the best Starscream, Sorry Armada
Transformers/Ghostbusters #2 preview:
books.apple.com
What is this, a preview for Inferno?
I'd rather have another fighting game with all the beastformers.
MEEKER SEEKER TIGETY TOIL
WHAT ARE WE DOING UNDER THE SOIL?
I want that too.
People are already wary of some of these characters already showing up in nuIDW. That was one massive death, I think they went overboard.
Origanal jap dub airazor was male
Brainstorm being the murder victim will never NOT be weird to me.
shame, i feel he would've been a fun addition to the reboot's cast.
I was hoping he'd survive by being a headmaster, but I guess I was being wishful there.
I like that this artist draws Transformer hands like the show, rather than the weird jointed mitts that a lot of the other artists draw.
Transformers #9 (will be released the same day as TF/GB #2; still not final until further notice) lettered preview via Apple Books
END
Sideswipe looking absolutely blocky in here and glad Windblade's design resembles Authentics more than her Cyberverse look.
hot
Because G1 autism.
what's the best theme and why is it the 1986 movie one?
youtube.com
I'm a fan of the alternate version.
Name?
Transmetal Airazor.
Third season.
as I understand it, it was just like star trek and doctor who
they brought this new thing in with a soft connection, but didn't make it super solid until they made sure the show didn't suck and people actually accepted it.
Don't forget though, they used shifty but solid legal shit to try to rescue us from the scourge of Bratz
it didn't last, but for a while they were our salvation. Barbie at least looks nice.
though monster high was a good gateway drug for girls to be into things that are actually cool, potentially at least.
I always wanted this guy, but the lion mode just looked stupid. This appears to be somewhat of an improvement.
aw fuck, Masterpiece. There goes any chance of being able to afford it.
He may get discounted, though. That always happens with most Lio Convoys.
And then they crashed MH with no survivors thanks to listening to pearl-clutching parents and general incompetence. Damn it.
this is the best megatron.
Unironically Bay Megs is pretty alright too.
He cared about Cybertron enough to make like 5 completely different and parallel plans, one for each movie.
I liked Cheetor's story through BW and BM and glad he got a decent ending in BM.
He got Rodimus arc done right.
>tfw nobody will ever give a definitive Rodimus growth arc.
Yep, everyone but Rodimus gets it.
>he is a dad now
Too bad the sparkling turned out to not be real in the comics. Just imagine Whirl and Whirl Jr shenanigans. Shit would of been adorable
Somewhere else his kid turned out real, thankfully.
>would of
School has failed you.
I'm not a native English speaker sorry
Where are you from?
here user, it's ok.
Mexico
Thanks man
No wonder the ladies love this little guy.
Mexibro!
So that makes at least three. Neat
>Optimus: Destruyes todo lo que tocas, porque ese afán, Megatron?
>Megatron: Porqué todo lo que toco es alimento para satisfacer mi hambre de poder y de venganza!
>Optimus: Pues en ese caso te voy a dar un buen postre!
>Megatron: Un poco más y lo logras, pero no fue suficiente, ahora nadie me detendrá!
>Optimus: Ya estas viejo megatron, te destruiré y te venderé como chatarra!
>Megatron: CHATARRA TU ABUELA
Starsaber was cool
>Aggretsuko but it's Slipstream and Black Arachnia
I'd give it a read.
That'll be awesome, Netflix could fund it.
>The more evil you are, the flatter you get.
that would explain Arcee
>Yeah I enjoy Animated more than prime
That's peak Chad right there.
>and the shittier a character you are
But animated was the best one
Star Saber was the worst excepting Sunder, who is so goddamn ridiculously edgy he comes off like a parody of Roberts' villains until you find out he was written by the man himself in all seriousness.
Was Roberts off his meds during Lost Light?
Previous thread
Nice thread everyone.
