Dirk makes more sense in being the villain, though, since the one "good" iteration that we know was Dirk himself (if we consider Bro to be abusive, which I don't particularly like, but, for the sake of argument let's say that he is), and all others were worse. Even then, Dirk fucked up his relationship with Jake in-comic, and all those little flaws stack up and carry over to the Epilogues. Jane doesn't have much to herself in-comic, though, so it feels unnatural that she becomes a fascist dictator simply because "lel le heiress 2 da condesc"
