Twitter Zoomers are now lumping seasons 4-5 into Spongebob's "classic era"...

>Twitter Zoomers are now lumping seasons 4-5 into Spongebob's "classic era", some even saying they're better than season 1

Do you agree or disagree with this?

>that twitter tier meme
No.

i think spongebob, in general, was a lackluster show and that any mention of twitter or generations should be banned

When I was a kid i didnt even separate the seasons in my head so I have no idea which season the good episodes belong to

How do you know this and why do you care ?

How the hell should I know what twitter zoomers think?

I saw this starting to happen a few years ago, when "Fear of a Krabby Patty" was listen among the okay episodes. Even when I was a kid, I could tell the day it premiered that episode wasn't funny.

for seaosn 4, yes. for seaosn 5, HELL NO

>children think the stuff they grew up with is good
No shit.

Twitter memes?!
In MY BOARD?!

More common than you think.

>old zoomers that watched "classic spongebob" are angry at young zoomers for liking nu spongebob

wrote the person while posting anime reactions of a comic and cartoons board.

Just kidding, but you have to appreciate the irony

No, because post movie is the most notable staff change and they had the new design from the movie. I still liked them though, all seasons to a extent

Fucking Zoomers gotta zoom zoom

This is happening in a lot of places right now. Notable the US Office episodes post S4, especially after Carrel left being considered classic. Same with shitty music and games from 10 years ago like Minecraft and Pokemon

As a Pokemon fan, it's one of the most blatant signs of this. Like clockwork, there will be a very noticeable spike in fans of a specific generation once it's around 10 years old. Right now, we're in a transitional period between gen 4 and 5 (although they might stay lumped together like this, since they were on the same console).

Gens 4 and 5 are the best. 3 being second. 1 and 2 are only considered good because nostalgia. 6 and 7 are the worse.

Yeah, this is what I mean. Back in the late 00s, there were loads of people who claim gen 2 was the best. Then back around the time BW2 was released, there were suddenly loads of Hoenn fans coming out of the woodwork. We're also seeing very early signs of people forgetting they consider XY the worst in the series.

Some of the beginning of season 4 I could understand being lumped in, especially since a lot of them were started before the staff change. The rest of them still heavily fall into the dark-age era, especially after "Selling Out," where I can't name a single decent episode.

As for those before it, I rank them like this.
1. "Fear of a Krabby Patty"
2. "Selling Out"
3. "Funny Pants"
4. "Skill Crane"
5. "Krabs vs. Plankton"
6. "The Lost Mattress"
7. "Enemy In-Law"
8. "Dunces and Dragons"
9. "Have You Seen This Snail?"
10. "Good Neighbors"
11. "Shell of a Man"

How so? It was written by C.H. Greenblatt (Chowder and Harvey Beakman), and unlike going 7 and downwards on my list, it's got jokes instead of gross-out and gore-out.

Even as a five year old I could immediately tell when an episode was nu-Spongebob shit. The quality of the jokes is a big hint

Why do you care about the opinions of literal children on which seasons of a cartoon from 20 years ago fall into an arbitrary "era"

good neighbors is one of my favorite episodes.

I have never seriously considered the quality of any Spongebob seasons.

>arbitrary "era"
Stephen Hillenburg left as showrunner and the jokes were not as good. It's not an arbitrary era.

>older fans didnt like it
>newer, younger fans do
>this is somehow supposed to mean that they are objectively good now
what retard made this image? literally apples and oranges
fuckin zoomers

Wasn't going to go deep into Pokemon on Yea Forums but yeah you're right. A few years ago DP were easily agreed as being shit and now people are lumping them in with older generations. And XY is increasingly being called the last "good game" now. GSC specifically is starting to get nostalgia threads and I think that's interesting.

Also worth mentioning Pokemon was the Fortnite of the 90's. The way I feel about Minecraft becoming a "classic" game is how people felt about Pokemon.

>I saw this starting to happen a few years ago, when "Fear of a Krabby Patty" was listen among the okay episodes.
That is an okay episode, though, probably due to it being a carry-over script from season 3. It's at the very least better than some classic episodes like the house party special and that one where Gary has to take a bath. Its biggest issue is that it suffers from that sloppy editing style that existed in some post-movie seasons where some of the dialogue pacing comes across as choppy.

How the fuck is this a generational thing? Spongebob still airs reruns and new episodes today. Someone born in 2005, hell 2010, saw the same episodes and seasons as someone born in 1995. It’s people changing opinions, not “le young people bad”.

The best season 4 episodes go even with an average season 1 episode. And season 4 doesn't have that many good ones to begin with, don't even get me started on season 5.
People need to rewatch the first 3 seasons to see what proper writing and comedic timing in Spongebob looked like
