For one thing, Tiana is a fine character, but have her stand next to her friend Lottie(was that her name?) or Naveen, and you realize she's rather boring, not bad, just boring, her character needs a little more life to it (which I guess is kinda the point since they do point out that she's a workaholic) but still, there's gotta be a way to work around that to make her a bit more interesting, especially when she goes from being a pretty girl to a frog

She should be played by a Chinese woman or a latina.

Then blacks will start chimping out that they're taking away "their" character.

No, A) since all the 'live action' remakes have sucked ass and B) the main charm of that movie is the fact that it's in 2D.

The film itself has several structural issues that would need to be overcome in the script stage. PatF is largely the story of Naveen with Tiana as the viewpoint character, and as such the film should hedge closer to Big Trouble in Little China than anything.

I feel like Sterling K Brown would make a great Facilier.
I think a remake should play up a possible stronger connection with both Facilier and Mama Odie and Facilier and Tiana. Like we know Tiana knows of Facilier, but they don’t interact at all until the end. And you have this light/dark voodoo dichotomy between Odie and Facilier, but barely any hint of connection between them.

Just remove the retarded "bug falls in love with a flaming ball of gas" bit and the movie's near perfect.

Talking frog claiming to be a shapeshifted prince drags two friends, one a lower class workaholic, the other a pampered, naive socialite, into hoodoo shenanigans in the supernatural underbelly of 1920s New Orleans would be a great plot.

Tiana is far too boring in her current interiatioin. It's always hard to sell characters whose virtues are "girl, honesty, disciplined and hard-working". I mean not to me but it's difficult to market that to children. She doesn't have a gimmick beyond transforming into a dully designed frog. It's just not enough to warrant attention. Not when characters like Elsa, a princess who is practically a metahuman, exist. Or Moana or Mulan who are heroes of their own stories. Facilier was OK and I have nothing against Naveen.

Hans was the only person in the film with a real personality. Anna's entire characterization was "slightly retarded," and Kristoff has less characterization than Olaf.

the main problem with her movie is that they gave us an interesting cast and setting and then just turned her into a frog and dumped them all in a lake for most of the film.

I rewatched Mr Facilier's scenes and I noticed he called himself a nigger at the start of "Friends on the other side". I'm honestly surprised Disney allowed it.

On the one hand, being older now means having the joy of a childhood watching the Disney Renaissance for the first time and having pretty and sexy princesses with occasional adult jokes, but mediocre technology and games

On the other hand, the younger gen gets all the high tech toys and gadgets, but has to suffer the #woke and bastardized live actions of classic Disney stories with blackwashed and MeToo’d characters.

I’d still have the former. Nothing beats seeing those 90’s Disney films in theatres at their premieres
