Implying he's actually dead
I think my dad watched this show when he was a kid. Is it still around?
I keked but then i remembered that if your Dad was at least 17 when he first saw it and had you around his twenties that would make you old enough to be Summer and make your post not bait.
It's only 16 years since the pilot. He have to have been a teen dad
i'd like to see more from jonas sr, but i feel like it's work that the creators don't want to put more effort in because it's rabbit hole. that chapter's probably closed.
Anyone feel like they're making Jonas a bit too much of a jerk?
This show has a long history of just dropping plot points to fuck with the viewers, like the Sovereign getting shot dead by accident before they could go into more detail about his identity.
yeah, it's to portray him as the chad super scientist hero. if he ever gets a new body or at the very least, shows up again, everyone, i mean everyone should just confront him for being a shitty person. all his past misdeeds have caught up to him.
I think they closed that arc so they can begin the arc of the actual venture brothers, hank, dean, rusty, and malcolm.
That would only work if he is diminished in some way. He's just going to flood the haters with his science mojo once more if not
This episode was really unsettling
That's assuming that the kid was born as soon as the show aired. Potentially, the dad could've had his kid two years prior to the show's airing and the kid could've grown up with the show and still be 18.
VENTUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE! I in the most vile pits of the internet I have discovered a peculiar little word that will lead you to your doom, and it STARTS WITH A N!
Agreed on them dropping possible plot points, like everything with Triana and her friend, but the sovereign was kind of wrapped up. His identity was a loser shapshifter who made a deal that put him on top. Kind of fitting he died like a loser. Honestly, not naming him who he was before he came in to power was a good move. A Z-Lister who no one cared about. Just my opinion though.
I was happy with how they ended the sovereign arc, but the job that the guild has become for Sheila has been less climactic in season 7.
He most likely won't care and shrug it off. Hed go back to his irresponsible science shit and nearly everyone will suck his dick
If he did come back in such a manner the finale should be Rusty and Monarch killing him when he inevitably goes too far and going Go Team Venture!
Honestly I was under the assumption they planned on bringing him back afterwards until Bowie died IRL considering 1) how ambiguous on whether it was Sovereign or not and 2) their love to bring people we thought were dead back to life seasons later
>The season 7 commentary where they reveal that Dean was originally supposed to run into Triana instead of the red Helper when they returned to the compound
Was what we got better or worse?
>missing the Johnny Quest reference
Ouch bro
no, it's a perfect amount. jonas has been well-established as a piece of shit long before the most recent season. it perfectly explains why rusty is such a bitter asshole.
Kind of hate the slow roll on this.
>If he did come back in such a manner the finale should be Rusty and Monarch killing him when he inevitably goes too far and going Go Team Venture!
I don't think Rusty would do that. He's already made it clear he always resented his dad, but never wanted to kill him. He's not like Lance and Dale Hale.
It was heavily implied throughout the series he was that much of a prick. It's just he was ultra top tier in science
Better. It was nice to see the origin of Helper, and to reveal to Dean that Rusty was a clone, only a character from the original Team Venture time period could do that.
You'd think a man like Jonas would be able to pop out children that aren't so damn thin and sickly.
Maybe Jonas himself is naturally weak and feeble and he super-science'd himself to be a big strong guy.
Hell, Action Man is a super soldier, maybe he was Jonas' test run for his own serum in the same way Venturion seemed to be a test run for the P.r.o.b.l.e.m.
hes always been. its just that rust is the focus. a fully focused arc on jonas would be dope
i mean the only reason that rusty came out so sickly was because he had jonas jr in him
he's definitely dead now.
>venture bros is my favorite show of all time
>parents ask what I want for Christmas
>I dunno a venture bros blue ray of the last season would be cool
>mom buys me the whole series up to season 6 on dvd+blu ray
>mom asks what the show is about
>geeky, 60s cartoons/comic book sort of parody thing
>70 year old dad immediately says oh the venture bros is great! It’s hilarious every time I catch it on.
My dad and I have a pretty solid relation but this made me so damn happy
Rusty is a clone. He has no mom
Rusty is a clone though. Im sure Rusty 1 was pretty similar to Jonas, but a few clones down the line probably made him a bit sickly.
Either the OSI uses his head like Lordgenome or he uploaded his consciousness into a secret file and will pop up when he's needed.
rusty is a clone of rusty one, not a clone of jonas. i dont think even jonas could explain away rusty being a clone to team venture. and they were fine with abandoning orphans in a series of tunnels.
true, but im sure all the clones had the jj tumor. for jj to be alive, im sure he had to absorb quite a bit of resources, and it doesnt help that rust was always self medicating
I always thought that the jj tumor was a side effect of his cloning and wasnt always there.
always figured that Jonas was going to turn out to be the Secret President that got mentioned once or twice.
Rusty is probably a test tube baby and a few clonings caused Jonas' DNA to express into a mutation that became JJ
i forgot about the secret president
Nice, user. Good and heartwarming to hear you can connect with your family in that kind of way.
Yeah thats pretty much how i think about it. JJ is a mutation from repeated cloning
i think jj has always been there. when it came to rusty, jonas wasnt the most obvservant, and when it comes to anomalies, id imagine a fucked up rusty would look like the fucked dean clone rather than harboring a living teratoma.
wish they'd do a final season and an End of Venture Bros "movie" and just wrap the show up.
I like Jackson and doc but i'd like to see them work on something else
Why would she be there? The compound is in ruins and her dad is in NYC.
Would stir some shit shipping wise though. Imagine that + the love triangle. It would be as cancerous as Voltron.
I'm OK with him being a jerk, but the way he was talking to Vendata and Billy felt too textbook villain. I get that he's a smug prick, but it would've made more sense for him to be playing for charisma & truly manipulating their attitudes, instead of just talking down to them like Lex Luthor.
It would've already been closed if they just left Jonas dead. They could've explained Vendata's backstory some other way without Jonas retconning & asspulling his way back into the story just for one episode.
so Jonas Sr. was a lot less vigilant than Rusty, eh? When he cloned someone, he checked on their DNA and fixed some shit if he saw errors.
It wouldn't be that hard to be like 'oh, parasitic clone. yeah let's get that out of there'
Christ what if an earlier one WAS taken out? what if there's a spare Jonas Jr. out there?
>His identity was a loser shapshifter who made a deal that put him on top. Kind of fitting he died like a loser.
It's really weird that no one seems to care about the Sovereign having deceived them like a bastard for years thought. For such a backstory-heavy show, it'd be pretty disappointing if they never give a bit more "how & why" about the Sovereign.
I've been trying for the last 13-ish years to get my dad turned on to the right-up-his-alley kind of entertainment that's been coming out, but I just had no time, couldn't get him into the right mindset, didn't seem to have time, he was always worn out
then he burned out completely on work and stress and moved away and drank himself to death, and never could bring himself to talk to me about it.
I'm glad you can share this with your dad, user.
I think that was kind of the point
the massive, opaque bureaucracy allowed a bad guy (even among bad guys) to infiltrate and run everything without opposition.
but they're finding that a more transparently-run organization is constantly at the whim of every whiner, and realizing why people start hiring people to handle that for them, which ultimately leads to the same problems.
He would care, if it meant that he'd no longer get funding/access to his equipment.
not dying yet
one of his flaws was that he got bored of pet projects early. he got bored of venturion shortly after creating him. so after making the cloneing machine, he probably never thought of potential imperfections
as for another jonas jr.. its something ive thought about. like what if that lost a rusty instead of one dying and somehow another jonas was able to come to term
I hope we get a montage of Rusty being killed, in the same vein of Hank and Dean's death montage, and we steadily see Jonas go from heartbroken that his son is dead to 'get a bucket of ammonia and deal with this" mentality.
i would spanakopita rusty was near the tail end of the clonings
i bet unlike hank and dean, most of rustys deaths were done by team ventures incompetence. i bet action mans gun went off at least once. sick fuck
Cloning is Rusty's one great super-science skill, so he takes some level of pride in it. Jonas was always abandoning projects at the minimum acceptable product stage and moving on to his next big idea.
He is making a push
What, like he wakes him with his gun, but one day its actually loaded and goes off?
yeah, like how rusty describes it, but the drunk bastard has a round loaded in the chamber
Just thought of a quick idea. Instead of wiping the memory of death, Jonas just inserts into Rusty's memories, embarrassing memories. Fuck knows why but I like the idea how all the traumatic moments disguise even more horrible moments.
