New Wasp and Riri both have potential but need way better handling Young has shown that he could be writing a good Nadia book but plainly just wants to write about his grrl power OC's and gives them half of every issue and Eve Ewing immediately carried over characterization from Zub's champions with her having panic attacks and freezing up because of Thanos casually almost killing her.

I mean, there's good stories in Marvel and DC, as well as indies. I don't see the point on limiting myself to just one publisher as if I got paid to promote it, I read a lot of stuff.
In fact my current favorite indies are:

Diversity hire characters have been demoted, but they're still at least somewhat relevant and either have better stories/characterization (Ironheart), or new identities to make them unique (Brawn, Laura going back to X-23.) The old guard are getting focus, but the new guard isn't totally abandoned. That's one roadblock removed.

I feel like there's been more of a focus on trying new things and giving spotlight to more obscure characters. Sometimes it works (Darkhawk), sometimes it doesn't. (Domino, Nadia.) But at least the bad stuff is shuffled away quickly.

But the writing is still shit. You still have all these poorly-written events. Editorial is shit, continuity's still a mess, they're still obsessed with pushing certain characters or gimmicks. You still have grossly incompetent writers and terrible artists.

While things are a lot better overall, they're still toilet-tier. But I'm hopeful for the future. Kinda. Somewhat. I'm willing to write the flaws as growing pains.

Yeah, agreed. I did not want to knock down the entire book's merits over that last issue (the previous was only marginally better), but it really felt detrimental to the narrative.
I'm hoping they find someone who can right the ship in terms of art, because as it is, it's not appealing at all.
I think it's partly because they know it's gonna be rebooted anyway so Rosenberg said "fuck it" and started killing everyone, but that's pretty disrespectful anyway, saying it as someone who normally doesn't care about the X-Men and is more of an Inhumans fan. Seeing them basically treating them with the same outright disregard is not fun.
