Shanghai has a famous skyline of it's own, and I'm not seeing it anywhere. Furthermore in that page I quoted specially we see the street being right next to the skyscrapers. Hell it's even above some buildings, that doesn't exactly exist in Shanghai

This writing is trash, the aesthetic is faux-anime, and every single idea --visual and conceptual-- is derivative. Imagine if Marvel actually hired competent Asian comic creators to make comics they actually had interest in making instead of getting some random Asian talent together to make generic garbage on the vain hope of catching the anime wave again.

Yeah, trash tends to do well in China for a multitude of reasons, between their recent past with how much outside culture is allowed to bleed over, their country's stance on the concept of copyright leading to most of their pop culture being an endless string of derivative, etc. The country by and large values spectacle over creativity to an even larger degree than the rest of the world.

To be fair, it's not like china is exclusive in consuming trash. This comic is just mediocre so far besides a cool villain tease I guess, I'll stick around for the next issue at least

The original basically started right in the heat of things, with next to nothing her the background for a few chapters before more is revealed. This issue somehow contains material from those later chapters, so the pacing is chopped up. Aero herself narrates and speaks a lot less too, she’s much more direct as a character
