And that's it for The Wild Storm.
Maybe a bit more lackluster than I expected...but can't wait to see what WildCATs brings when it comes out.

See you then!

Thanks for the storyline. I haven't ben paying attention to this, but I'm surprised nobody else seems to have.

...I'm not terribly surprised, desu. I always got the feeling that Wildstorm was a product of it's time, and without the absurdly over the top brutality, said brutality being BTFO by Captain Atom, cosmic powerlevels being thrown around willy nilly and time travel wizard rape it just wasn't the same experience.

yeah, it just doesn't really work dumbed down.

yes thank you op ive been waiting for this

>dr turns people into leaves
its been done before

well that was a fucking let down
i hope we get more of the "authority"

Honestly, I'm surprised Deathblow went out like that.

But mildly excited for New WildCATs.

was grif in this? is he dead or something?

>See you then!
Hell yeah, you will. Thanks, Dave. Pretty sure my save of the series is due to your having originally storytimed most of it.

Bless ya user

Alright lets do it.

He was in like the first half of the book, I’m not sure what happened to him after that.

How are they doing Wildcats when the new John Colt is nothing like Yohn Khol? Won’t be the same.

I don't know if dumbed down is the right term for it. More like blanded?

Yay! Evil white men beaten by girls & gays!

Bump. Debating if I want to read this now or later.

It was good but it ran too long. It was decompressed to the point of absurdity. If you go back and read Ellis first Authority arcs which popularised decompression in Western comics. all it meant was opening the panels up into huge widescreen shots like massive 90s blockbuster movies (which ironically in the MCU has movie shots copying comics copying movie shots but I digress). The story itself was tight, fast, and done in 4-6 issues with a classic simple 3 act structure.

This has gone into the Bendis/Johns style decompression of just overlong, plodding, stories and closed small panel shots.. It was good because Ellis can't write bad comics but it was far from great as it should have been.

Ellis is writing it so I couldn't be less excited

Alright well this ending on a happy, but anti-climatic blood-bath. I hate watched all the characters die in the end and it shows much the series was trying to be an HBO show than a comic book. The art was always fun and cool, even if the imagination behind it seemed restrained to TV-sized ideas.

lol

Oops I missed a few issues. Did Majestic ever show up?

He and Wild CATs keep a low profile now because of IO.

This whole thing sorta felt like Westworld Season 2. I was reserving judgement every issue/episode thinking there would be some sort of big payoff in the end. Instead it just kinda ended and I end up feeling sorta annoyed.

I can't believe Ellis delivered.

Well that was unexpected.
The Deathstroke spin off was kind of crap, but he didn't deserve that.
Yeah, having picked up the trades, it works a lot better read as a whole rather than as individual issues, the pacing isn't so much of a problem there. Definitely worked to get me interested in WildCATs/any other spinoffs they come up with, just hope they are better than Michael Cray.

as a wildstorm fan i feel kinda dissapointed
not terribly, but the whole series could ve been better.
