The Walking Dead

Well lads, it's finally over. Thoughts and feelings? Wish it wasn't so rushed and messy but I dig the overall vibe of what the ending was going for

Where's the storytime?

It was a good albeit rushed ending and I appreciate Kirkman for acknowledging that he'd basically run out of ideas and had nowhere to go with the setting anymore and quitting while it was still pretty successful rather than stringing it out even longer.

I appreciate that the final issue was out of the blue and on a seemingly random issue number. He didn't make a song and dance about this being the final issue to get a massive sales boost so this feels like it's for the long time fans who have stuck with it for years.

Summary of the finale?

Has this ever be done before? It actually does take a lot of balls and like you said, he absolutely did take a hit in not taking the opportunity to milk the fuck out of the finale with weeks of hype and grandstanding, but I respect him for it. The surprise, unhyped ending of the series meshes so perfectly with how quiet and peaceful the last issue is

where can i download this?

Summary please, I stopped following the comic since Abraham arc.

I fucking adored the old west feel this issue had. I know it's over but I would kill for a continuation years from now telling the stories of Carl in this new frontier, maybe he becomes the sheriff of a small town like his Dad or something. Full-on wild west cowboy aesthetic but with zombies, fuck that would be cool

Rick is dead
His killer is arrested and thrown in jail for life
Timeskip a decade or two.
Carl is now married to Sophia. They have a daughter named Andrea.
Not as many walkers around as there used to be. Communities starting to thrive again in spite of zombies.

Pretty somber and quiet finale, to be honest. Basically just a fast forward with an "Everything is finally returning to some kind of normal in spite of the zombies" ending.

No seriously someone storytime it.

does someone have a link for the .cbr or .pdf download?

Too many irrelevant characters in the end and they never show what happened to most of them

If they're irrelevant why would you care?

It will be in the Win O soon enough

One-eyed Carl vs. Hapa Herschel

There were still two solicits after this one. Maybe he was planning to end it anyway, but something unexpected definitely happened.

Because they're characters with potential that should have been relevant over trash like Princess and in the end we don't even know what happened to the other communities

It was planned. Kirkman outright confirmed in the afterword that the solicits were completely made up and just there to trick people.

This is the same guy who dropped another series literally completely without warning for either readers or retailers, so he's pulled shit like this before.

Nah, with how much work goes into comics and with how big this final issue is I think it's clear those were fake solicits

Lads...

.exe hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Nevermind, I just finished the issue. Kirkman actually had the balls to put fake solicits up.

Did we ever see Negan again?

No but he is supposedly alive, taking supplies that are left for him.

>Rock

the last issue was beautiful. He shouldve done it at least 2 years ago.

Here's some shit.

Doesnt some guy who looks suspiciously like Negan go to Rick's grave?

Hershel.

Lydia

Have they figured out how to stop people from turning into zombies when they die? I feel like any "everything is good except there's still zombies" ending would be kneecapped by someone(s) dying in their sleep.

the fat science guy

that punk bitch

just storytime it. nigger.

Michonne is the supreme judge or something what the fuck am I reading

5/5 ending. Sad the series can't make it.

lol

too many pages 80% is filler shit

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-058.jpg (1988x3056, 1.74M)

I was hyped for Rick's brother from another mother.

Nope. They have numerous checkpoints to protect the safezone from the outside, but nothing has changed to prevent another outbreak from within save that the military wears full body armor to better prevent what happened the first go around. A lot harder to get bit that way, I guess.

Negan

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-063.jpg (1988x3056, 1.35M)

that motherfucker is still in prison, based

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-065.jpg (1988x3056, 1.66M)

That's a silly statue.

Why are they building a transcontinental railroad, did the zombies rip up the old one?

Fake covers were about Carl dying apparently.

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-077.jpg (1988x3056, 1.2M)

Shouldn't Negan be old as fuck

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-078.jpg (1988x3056, 535K)

Carl thinks so as well, but that's how he's remembered

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-079.jpg (1988x3056, 1.23M)

So Carl doesn't stay with Crazy Whisper Girl? But... she was hot!

Anyone else feel a little weird about this? I don't mind it ending, but this and the previous two, three issues feel weird as fuck. Like it got axed, but it was so popular, so it's obviously wasn't, but still. Did the author just ragequit?

I actually got a little emotional reading Kirkman's letter. It's been a while since I've read the comics but it's crazy that he was able to do this without any major leaks until a day before the book came out.

More like boredquit. He just realized his story had reached its ending and was just spinning its wheels pointlessly.

I'm glad the gays made it out okay.

They were decent folk so I was worried they'd get killed for shock value

I don't think its negan after time skip

I loved it but a little cheesy at times like Michonne's speech or the story book with Rick at the end but I really was pleasantly surprised with it. Hershel was actually surprisingly one of my favourite aspects of the issue, loved the antagonism he and Carl shared together still I wonder how the hell Maggie became the new Governor when it seemed like Michonne was being set up. Some unanswered questions but otherwise LOVED it and it was a perfect send off:

Questions
>What happened to Alexandria and the other communities?
>Who were the other people Maggie was running against?

So they introduce a bunch of new characters over the last 12 issues, introduce an entirely new status quo and... what, that's it? Just a sudden 'and they all lived happily ever after NO MORAL'? Man, there's rushed endings and then there's this. Feels like Kirkman had to rush out a finale because reasons.

I love the last page with Rick sitting on top of the corpses.

I feel like Kirkman didn't want to waste a year dealing with mopey Carl and just cut to the chase and skip over all the stuff he was too bored to write

also mad Carl didn't end up with Lydia

Attached: The Walking Dead 193-080.jpg (1988x3056, 574K)

Carl and Sophia winding up together and Lydia being with some random just felt weird.

Considering that the zombie virus/whatever isn't actually deadly, what stopped modern medical care from being able to adapt to it? The average person wasn't going to die from a zombie bite, so even if it spread and caused SOME panic, we were better equipped to put the whole outbreak down while we had a modern civilization compared to some random vagabonds making a farm like now.

Good ending. A little pissed that sites openly spoiled the fact that the comic was ending.

On the other hand...

NEGAN LIVES BABY

FUCK YEAH

what happened to the whisperer girl?

She's still into Carl and tries to get in his pants while he's doing a fanservicey 'let's see what everyone's been up to' tour of the Commonwealth.

>The zombie virus isn't deadly
It us though. Most of the story in the beginning was people getting bit and dying of fever, then turning after the fact. That's why the cities collapsed so quickly, millions died in the span of a few days and overwhelmed everyone else. I imagine that could happen again once the population congests enough, too.

And it was later established that EVERYONE is already infected. You only die from being bitten by a zombie because you got bit by a rotting corpse.

He went back to first girl, Sophia. First girl is best girl

based carl

Maybe I'm wrong, but my understanding was that zombie bites killed by default so kirkman would have a tool to believably cause his zombie apocalypse. Since everyone is infected like you said (since it probably spreads through the air) someone could die of a stroke and then turn anyway.

Rick dying is a perfect example of it if you forgot. (It's so weird that everyone treats the zombie disease as something that hasn't already infected people.)
He got shot and then Carl found Zombie Rick.
I don't know why it gets forgotten so easily from time to time in the comics, you'd think that would be pertinent information for Rick to tell everyone and word would get out anyway just from normal mortality rates.

I think we might be arguing the same thing because I agree with you. Grandpa's heart is going to give out one day in his sleep, he'll eat grandma, they'll both get out and infect the neighbors, and it'll spread from there. Though I imagine it'd be easier to deal with since it'd be historically documented at that point, so every officer/soldier would know what to do which the military of the old world didn't.

Attached: psnqosanfge21.jpg (567x433, 37K)

Old people would definitely be put on imminent death watch.

Why did Eugene turn into such a hypochondriac, did he get paranoid after Stephanie's death?

The problem is that in order for it to snowball like that there would need to be some serious failures even with high infection rates. Sure it'll spread to the neighbours, but the neighbours would get penicillin and their wounds cleaned at the hospital as a geriatric old man zombie isn't a threat.
TLDR: The CDC did a practice run for what to do if a zombie outbreak happened. They stomped it HARD and standard zombies are more troublesome than walking dead zombies because walking dead zombies don't actually kill with a bite.

The US government should have came out of hiding from their bunkers by now and retaken control now that I think of it too?

Abandoned TWD after they introduced that "woke" Princess bitch. Horrible writing with CurrentYear politics forced into it. Absolutely done with anything Kirkman ever does again.

For a while I just accepted it because we were only focused on a small region of the country, but multiple time skips were just stupid. Obviously the military would still exist, government as well. Eventually you would have cleared out the majority of the zombies just through your daily chores.

Glenn's son turns into TWD's Elliott Rodgers.

>108490218
>The US government should have came out of hiding by now
A plotline I always hoped for was the government making a comeback and trying to push old laws that just don't fit the new world, forcing Rick to choose between the old systems and those they built themselves. Would have been a more interesting final plotline instead of the Commonwealth honestly. I'm a little disappointed we won't get to see anything like that. Oh well.

Is that his wife's grave?

Well that was actually a solid ending all things considered.

Attached: 6521348A-2BE4-476F-BAEF-7996185B95D9.png (750x1334, 1.23M)

fucked that up

How did that end up for him?

I liked the fact Hershel is a shit, because it hits that people can become that way even if their parents were good people.

What makes no sense is that at some point they gave walkers property status, and call it property damage if you kill one. I get that you can’t go smashing Hershel’s cart, but when one escapes, it should be treated like a dangerous animal escaping the circus. If a local puts down an escaped lion, no one tells the local he has to pay for the lion or go catch another one. It’s entirely possible it’s just local politics, but god damn that was a stupid situation. It would have been better if Hershel were an asshole, but had a point about reminding people about what happens when you die if you don’t get stabbed in the head, and people should have FLIPPED OUT that one got out of his exhibit. Hell, if Hershel were smart he would have said “nope, not my walker”, because if it HAD hurt someone he would be liable.

I also would have liked to see how they handle people dieing non-violently. Like holy shit, grandpa may actually die in his sleep, so we need to deal with that.

How did CORL turn black?

See I kind of want to see some SOL spinoff about Commonwealth soldiers or some forensics team dealing with scenarios like what you described. That would be AMAZING. Could call it CSI: Commonwealth, each issue would be about them working out whether reanimation was natural or if murder was involved.

Poor Glenn. His son turned into a garbage human being. You’d think Maggie would make sure the kid would be humble like his dad.

he just did the Invincible ending again, wasn't terrible.

Hershel’s logic of “being closer to his dad” through the zombies is just stupid. How did Maggie fuck up that bad with him?

He reminded me a little of the old Governor a little with how he tried to harden himself by making himself gaze at the fish tanks but he was shown people walkers in a cage instead.

Hershel 100% reminds me of Black Hand from Green Lantern, wouldn't be surprised if he was actually fucking the corpses too.

It was a really good ending. I feel satisfied after the conclusion of The Whisperer arc and Commonwealth arc. I just felt.... good. I think this it's the best ending we need. But I just only felt melancholic about Dwight, he deserved more, not a bullet in his head. At least I expected an apologies for Carl.

Attached: dwight.jpg (1300x786, 134K)

Single mom having to lead everyone else. He was basically raised by nannies.

FUCK it would have been great to see an interaction between him and Negan.

>I didn’t know your dad for too long. Neither did Lucille before she bashed his head in, but in that brief moment your father had balls. You? You’d be nothing but a disappointment to him.

It scares me how Maggie of all people is too relaxed about the whole zombies being property thing. Her brother died because of him and his father treating them like pets. Why is she letting her son do it?

Dwight along with Aaron and Paul were my boys after Glenn died which is ironic now that I think about it. I also liked Negan but he's everyone's boy so he doesn't count.

Negan telling Hershel about the night he killed Glenn while the scene being reminscent of Carl and Negan's talks after the first time skip would've been a good scene. You can REALLY feel the hatred coming off him when he confronts Carl after the court room scene and he tells him how no one remembers Glenn.

Old Maggie looked ironically Asian

I liked that scene because it really shows how he knows nothing of his dad. Glenn just wanted a normal life with Maggie. No statues, no celebrations of his heroics. The fact that Hershel feels like he deserves all that because Rick has it shows more that he’s jealous of what Carl has rather than not actually having a father.

Dwight deserved better.

Attached: hug.jpg (920x687, 80K)

first girl always wins

He's old. At a certain age, "i could die any day" is just reality, not hypochondria

Rick would've probably wanted a statue of himself as a sheriff.

Haven't read since andrea died.

Can anyone give me a quick rundown of the major things that lead to this ending? Also, why did dwight die?

Next arc should've been about a secret cabal of people successfully assassinating Carl and his family with the group consisting of Laura, Hershel, Sebastian, etc. While Negan takes up revenge against The Commonwealth.

A moment, that means that you never knew what was the cause of the infection and that you never try to find a cure or vaccine?

I feel there was a lot you could do to keep the story alive

-Dwight pulled a gun on the leader of the Commonwealth
-Rick shot him in the head
-Commonwealth leader's son was pissed since Rick 'ruined his life', shot him
-Carl shot Rick when he came back
-Son dude was put in jail for life, Carl says he can't go on

-BIG-ASS TIMESKIP

-This issue.

Do they even use the current calendar anymore or did they year reset for them after the first outbreak began?

Never comes up.

The cure it's kill the dead people after they resurrect. Easy.

Actually one thing I was curious about quite a lot. Nobody was really keeping track of the years anymore but I guess that was intentional. Giving that Hershel mentioned the Walkers have a market value what else besides stage attractions do you think they were used for?

Games. They probably go the Dead Rising route

I imagine it would be similar to what Brian did back at Woodbury, people would have secret underground Walker fights or regular Fight Club style fights with Walkers thrown in to make it more interesting.

I can't believe it ended. Although the end of The Whisperers arc and some things of Commonwealth that I didn't like it like the premature death of Dwight, I enjoyed this comic all along. It was a good ride, my friends.

Attached: Real Rick Grimes.png (554x686, 165K)

They did use the old calendar during prison days

Terrific final issue. Best in literally years.

Carl only having 1 kid is weird.

Top five characters my lads? Mine are: Andrea, Negan, Glenn, Tyreese, and Carl.

The comic had it's ups and down, but to me the height of quality was after Hershal's farm to Grimes' suicide attempt.

Eugene rebuilding the railroad is fucking great and my favorite part of this ending.

I think its a mix of both, ragequit from AMC's handling of the show adaptation and from what you said of him realizing the story stretching its limits.

Negan, Rick, Andrea, Eugene, Dwight.

t. Robert Kuckman

That honestly sounds pretty lame and anti-climatic.

How mad do you think Image are at the moment?

Haven't tried this before, is this series worth reading?

I hope you weren't expecting something thrilling and exciting, because those are words Kirkman would have to look up.

They had to make it fit into the large collections or something, because they're the most popular format.

Yes

So anons, can I get some recommendations for other monthly comics to get into so I can continue to support my LCS? Only comic I read monthly was TWD. Never liked capes but I did like Kill or Be Killed, Harrow County, & Hellboy.

Attached: morten-solgaard-pedersen-skeleton-king-v5-finishing-up-002.jpg (1920x2907, 643K)

I've only got three books on my pull list at the moment, now two with TWD gone. Now I'm left with Morrison's The Green Lantern and Doomsday Clock. Once those two titles are done I have no further reason to continue supporting floppies.

Criminal by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips

>Jim
>Tyreese
>Julie
>Axel
>Billy Greene
>Alice
>Judy
>Dale
>Morgan
>Gabriel
>Abraham

So many great characters that could have had super interesting arcs, but didn't last long enough to actually do anything. They all deserved better.
I'm still salty about my boy Axel, you follow me?

I'm kind of curious to find out how recently he decided he was going to end it. Given that it's actually a pretty good ending, I'd find it very interesting if he was planning to keep going as recently as last issue but realized he could just wrap it up right there.

I have to give him a lot of credit for ending it like this and going out on his own terms when he could've dragged it on for much longer until he reached the #300 end game.

Abraham was one of my favorite characters. He reminded me of my grandfather. I really was sad when he died. He deserved more.

So did they ever have to deal with the US government or someone claiming to be the government? I always assumed that would be the end game with the characters vs. some government entity that fairly well-armed emerging from a bunker somewhere.

Walkers overpowered everyone in those positions quickly.

It's to connect all the communities directly

I read it, did everyone take a retard pill in the future because the whole idea of someone being punished for killing a walker is stupid

Yes, yes it is. I feel like it was just put in there to generate conflict. The whole story reads like it was written in a hurry to wrap up the series, and the fact that it literally ends with the 'Old Man Carl' theory is suspect as fuck.

Why not stretch it out to issue 200 so you end on a nice number?

Its even shittier knowing that his death wasn't even going to happen. Kikeman wrote the issue, thought it was lame, and killed Abraham to 'spice it up'

I wanted to see more of Hershel vs Carl, even if it just felt like placeholder issues to reach the milestone ending with an anniversary memorial of Rick's assassination but what we got was good.

The man character died. No real reason to keep going on. Besides, dude strived for some kind of realism.

And "New people still come and go even in the twilight of your life, and they'll continue to come and go even after you're dead" is a pretty real thing.

Why so many fags in the apocalypse? Can't be helping their population.
Heck right now they're not even at a replacement rate.

Carl and Andrea have 1 kid.
Michonne's daughter and nigger have 1 kid.
Elias and rando have 1 kid.
Sheriff nigger and rando have 1 kid.
Lydia and dude have 0 kids.
Princess and nigger have 0 kids.
Jesus and fag have 0 kids.

Attached: fags.png (698x338, 273K)

I recommend Outcast if anyone wants a currently-running Kirkman comic, it isn't as good as Invincible but I like it more than TWD personally.

Negan spinoff covering what he was up to when he was kicked the fuck out?

i was really satisfied with it.
i'm glad kirkman ended the story with rick unlike the amc show.
i feel happy and sad after following this series for years ;_;

I'm glad Carl got a good ending, he deserved it most.

>BEHOLD MY MIGHTY DICK ARM

I don't see why. The white house lawn has fucking mines in it and standard Hazmat protocols, medical care, and even outnumbering any walker outbreaks from a random death would destroy any outbreaks in the bunkers.
He's not wrong though. Rick gets praised like he was the second coming of Jesus when there were plenty of people that made a huge difference along the way.

It couldve ended better. I wouldve like to see them make it to 200. Glad to see eugene make it in the end but felt robbed that I didnt get one more carl and negan moment

>Tfw Carl didn't get to kill Negan as promised

Still I liked it.

I always thought it would be kind of funny if when the crew met the next villain Negan would’ve started running mouth like he always did and just get popped in the head. But I do appreciate he got a semi redemption even if he spends the rest of his life suffering

what happenend in the ending? never read the comics but i still wanna know.

a bit unexpected considering.

Attached: twd192letters.jpg (1010x1670, 405K)

Dwight was a ticking timebomb. Had Rick not shot him he would have triggered a civil war, or a war between colonies.

Laura is going to be another Dwight incident, you just know.

We will never know.

>read issue online
>decide to walk over to my nearby comic store to pick up a physical copy as a way to pay Kirk back after reading tons of comics without paying
>show up 45 min after opening
>turns out tons of people lined up before the shop even opened to get the issue
>all sold out

;_;

meh I don't really care about Comic Rick. It's TV Rick that's great.

I managed to get two today since I have two per issues for The Walking Dead on my pull list.

Pre-time skip Rick felt like a bland Shounen hero but I like old man post-time skip Rick.

They'd probably also have game shows etc like in Shaun of the Dead

And like Ed in Shaun's shed at the end. I can imagine some citizens keeping them around as sort of exotic pets.

Add me to this hug

I wonder if they ever linked up with Richmond or Clementine's group for that matter

Attached: the-walking-dead-new-frontier-episode-5-richmond.jpg.optimal.jpg (700x392, 40K)

I don't think he's suffering. He's finally accepted his wife's death. He's probably just chilling, being an grizzled old man loner.

>Thoughts and feelings?
Relieved Kirkman let it end on a high note even if the book was meandering for years now. The book was structured to be Rick's story from day one and if he did try to charge through it pretending "it's this world's history" it'd have been cheap as shit.

He even pretty much admits this, so good on him. You probably could've ended it sooner with the same impact though and avoided all the filler unremarkable characters he wanted us to think would be a big deal like Magna or Princess.

Also I think his first ending that he said would be terrible would also have been great.

I follow you

Attached: 4xel.jpg (388x492, 87K)

>axel wouldve survived issue 48
Lets be honest user

I mean, it weren't really ballsy. I'm sure other creators made fake solicits to wade off speculation their series was coming to an end.

Glad I'm not the only one who liked his plan with Rick's statue.

Make the switch

Attached: RCO004.jpg (1035x1600, 512K)

>Carl becomes Rick
>Herschel becomes Sebastian
Yeah. I can understand why Kirkman wanted to end the Walking Dead. It just would've end up being a regurgitation of issues he already told.

I ain't reading this pile of shit.

Sorry not sorry.

Make the switch

Attached: RCO004 (4).jpg (1035x1600, 407K)

Hershel was one of the most fun things about the ending.

IT really could have continued without the same ole shit.
Maybe meet up with some scientists who survived the apocolypse and found / are close to finding a cure.
Maybe meet up with former military who haven't left the old world behind.
Maybe have them trying to clear out a few major cities.

Point being there are plenty of ways to expand the story without padding it.

>Also I think his first ending that he said would be terrible would also have been great.

Agreed, but I also think for Kirkman himself this is better. You wanna give your characters an ending that's not just bleak and horrible as a creator, I imagine. Fair enough.

I miss him

Attached: Lee Everett.png (533x719, 613K)

How is another Sebastian funny? are you one of those edgy imbeciles who love characters like ramsey and euron?

the artist is dogshiit

Attached: 231.jpg (923x774, 168K)

No story time eh? Nice.

>Her whole family died
>Watched her husband get his head bashed in
>Dante not mentioned at all, seemingly gone
>Focused too much on being the president that she hardly ever spent time with her son
>Gave him anything he wanted
>Hershel became an asshole spoiled brat with a walker circus
>Nobody likes him, not even his mom
>Uses her status to bail him out of trouble
>Carl and Sophia hate her
>Hershel knows absolutely nothing about his dad
>Glenn's forgotten
>Negan lives
How is it possible for one character to get this amount of BTFO?

Attached: 1554531223154645.png (1754x745, 794K)

I didn't say fun as in funny just fun as in his dynamic with Carl was pretty fun

It's so great, I've always hated her guts. I don't even know why, but she was so unlikeable.

Attached: wink negan.jpg (875x483, 54K)

You know till the end I was hoping to see that Negan hadn't aged one single day, it would have been mind blowing to find out he was immortal.

This artist can not draw kids.

Attached: art.png (970x1046, 1.05M)

I hated her even more after her suicide attempt

>Negan is some kind of Melmoth wanderer figure
>People realize he is the cause of the plague and they figure out a way to kill him
>They stop trying because Negan is too likeable

This is why we like Negan

Did they ever explain How did Rick survived months in a coma without any help?

thats negan at lucille's grave, Mercer and princess walking a dog, lydia and her husband conner

Say what you want about the comic book, but comic Negan is a 10/10 character through and through. His transition from funny-as-fuck villain to anti-hero was nothing short of fucking fantastic.

comic logic

The sad part is she failed Glenn. Hershel is his legacy and he’s an awful one. Parading around the things that ended the world, selfish beyond anything. Maggie failed him and I think she knows it based on the last panel she’s in.

Make the switch

Attached: RCO021_w.jpg (1600x1280, 554K)

Too bad it ended now. I would gladly follow at least one story arc with adult Carl.

I was kinda hoping for a heel turn at the end where carl essentially starts the apocalypse all over again because in the end his fathers work was in vain.

Ultraverse did something similar with their Exiles book back in 1993. They sent out solicitations for upcoming issues that were fake so that the death of the team was a shocker.

>They have a daughter named Andrea.
Based Kirkman made Lori the cunt forever forgotten

I mean, in this one panel where he visits Lucille's grave, he looks exactly like he did before the timeskip.

Damn, it was unironically GOOD ending. I mean, I dropped the comic during last arc because it was boring and pointless as hell, but it's nice to see that Kirkman finally understood that comic needed to end. It was a good and emotional one.
UNLIKE GAME SERIES ENDING WHICH IS UTTER FUCKING TRASH.

look like midgets with bobble heads

>Hell, if Hershel were smart he would have said “nope, not my walker”, because if it HAD hurt someone he would be liable.

He wouldn't have thought that because he assumed his mom would get him out of anything.

HORSECOCK

Has there been anything more edgy ever printed than this comic?

I still dont know why they called him that

Attached: RCO003 (8).jpg (1029x1600, 651K)

I hope she cuts him off of everything she gave him. I hope she realizes that he’s gonna end up like her brother and dad with treating the walkers as something other than monsters. The fucker can make excuses all he wants about his father not being famous keeping them alive is too big a risk.

Its actually a really good read

So what caused the outbreak?
Have the amount of zombies decreased?
Are people still turning when they die?

Attached: Sfv_zombie_chun-li.jpg (400x540, 52K)

Yes to both

>“Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.”
Holy shit it's only been 23 years since Rick died and most kids are already disrespectful little shits. I felt bad for Carl, I just hope Maggie is not a lifetime president.

I think she’s gonna cut ties with Hershel, which means he can’t get off scott free anymore. Everyone she knows dislikes her now, so it all depends on what she does.

>Please stop doing rapes
This is actually good stuff, but for some reason I still laughed.

They mention the safe zones, and how bad things are outside of them. So there is still problems out there. Probably not walkers, but mostly bandits and hostile communities. Too bad we will never know.

Because it was funny.....

AND NO LESSON WAS LEARNED.

Would anyone be interested in a 1-193 storytime?

Years have passed, Carl has a kid. Carl gets in trouble for killing a walker who was someone's property and had wandered near his house. He gets sent to trial, is told to replace the walker with a new one, so he goes and kills all the "owned" walkers. He's arrested again and taken to the Supreme Judge, Michonne. She lets him go and outlaws owning walkers. Everyone remembers Rick as a legend, and it ends with Carl reading his daughter a children's version of Rick's story as we see images of all the surviving characters.

I thought that was pretty funny as well. Not even Carl gives a shit about Lori.

>Too bad we will never know.
Admit it, if he had you'd be bitching about another time skip and the comic treading the same ground again.

He wouldn’t think that if he were smart though. That shit only goes so far, and being THE guy who got someone killed by walkers because he was keeping them around like circus animals? That’s some major bad mojo right there. He’d probably end up sharing a cell next to Sebastian.

Make the switch

Attached: RCO017 (6).jpg (1041x1600, 350K)

Would have been interesting if Carl had ended with Sophia and Lydia as wives. Almost half couples are gay at the end so why would polygamy raise brows?

It would be fun. Always works well for Usagi and Mignolaverse, those are comfy threads.

True. People bitch that Kirkman is not a good writer but he pulled off Negan flawlessy. And this ending was bretty good too.

It's alright. Sorta makes me think if manga in the sense that it just goes on and on without much in the way of moral or theme (yeah I know fans will say I'm a brainlet and can't see the thematic genius of kirkman). That being said plenty of likeable characters and at no point did I ever feel it was badly written

Id shitpost to keep it alive.

Find an example then

Is Charlie Adlard the luckiest person in comics history?

The dude is an okay-at-best artist who joined a breakout hit comic after its first arc, then rode along for nearly 200 issues and got co-creator status on the biggest comic of the decade. His best quality is that he's inhumanly fast, even turning around this 70-page monster and three extra covers without breaking a monthly schedule a single time. He'll be rich for years thanks to this.

Yet through all of that, I can't think of a single time he's actually made me think "wow, this art is great."

I hated the Rick dicksucking.

What is this?

Crossed.

Smokey is much better than horsecock. This isnt even up for discussion. I love horsecock(kek) but Smokey to me is the star of all of crossed or at least the badlands issues

Attached: RCO011 (8).jpg (1041x1600, 461K)

It certainly works perfectly for the scene, but is it honestly all that impressive? It's just some busted ass gore.

Doesnt this pretty much makes commonwealth arc redundant?

Crossed Psychopath was extremely kino

KEK

I dunno, I never hated his art. He has some weaknesses but I never minded them so much I wanted to stop reading.

It was a bit much. But then the comic was Rick's story and Carl was a terrible daddy's boy so it made sense.

>the artist is dogshiit
Oh man, the number of assholes who probably only interact with comic characters is through da moovies and da teevee shows in this thread is astounding.

Don't you niggers have some mouth breathing to catch up on?

I love that he ended it but still kept a lot of intrigue where I want to know what happens next.

>uses faceapp for his work
>not dogshit

Alright, I started it

It was always serviceable, but he's just not all that good. Tony Moore's issues were so much better; too bad the dude's slow as hell and a dick.

Suppose the zombie outbreak never happened, what would the lives of all the characters have been like?

the last volume cover connects with the first one.
that´s cool

Attached: ccc.png (1172x888, 1.47M)

Boring and mundane. So the same.

did they ever explain what caused the walkers ? Or even if they were at least sentient ?

This dude ends up causing so much pain and destruction even after his demise

The walkers were never important as said by Kirkland himself he would have made the story without them if he could. Think of them as super bizarre weather.

What was he supposed to do to the walker except kill it? Why would people want to own them?

Dumb nigger you shoulda linked it. Thanks though.
Also you're welcome

Thats dope
Now make the switch.

People have grown so safe that they use zombies for entertainment.

But i mean theyre still dangerous, right? Or did they pull all their teeth? Also theyre fucking gross either way. Rotting corpse

A lot of things are dangerous. But much less so if you can control and restrain them.

You could just read it and see yourself, it's just one issue.

readcomiconline.to/Comic/The-Walking-Dead/Issue-193?id=157578

Crossed: Wish You Were Here is unironically one of the best zombie-esque apocalypse stories written for the comics medium. Actually, many of the Crossed stories are really, really well-written. I guess people want to act like naive puritanism is some sort of inviolable feature of comic books, understandable given what an infantile medium it is.

I havent read this part of the series yet. I was about to re read all of crossed/family values/psychopath/badlands then all the ones I havent read or should I pick up wish you were here first. I feel gets written off far too quickly and easily as oh its just edge and shock for the sake of it and theres nothing inside of it. Crossed has some of the darkest comedy ever and sometimes gives you some characters you can care about in such a tremendously evil world. Also the amount of scenarios and different writers they go through keeps it fresh.

Attached: RCO005 (6).jpg (970x1600, 400K)

I read it. It was good. What exactly did Rick do to be remembered as this big hero?

I haven't read TWD in a really long time. I stopped reading during the Whisperers arc. Why is Negan avoiding Carl? I thought they had a good relationship.

There is a line in the issue about a retirement community

He has to be a lonely warrior user.

With a very elderly mother with cancer visiting him. Perfect.

Once a dog bites his owner, it's better to just put him down. He'll turn on you someday, cause that feral wildness never ever leaves em.

It's the final chapter and the thread couldnt even reach bump limit in over 12 hours. I didnt expect it to be that unpopular here.

Sick, I was always wondering if they'd do that. Honestly didn't think we'd find out for another decade.

maybe he just saw other popular shit like GoT ended and no end can satisfy a crowd anyway. So just end it and enjoy the cash he made.

stupid as fuck. they could have at least had them used as beasts of burden.

based as fuck

Not many people knew todays issue is the last

>didn’t bring back Moore to do the art

Boo.

where is this from?

Man I had only been following the series for a short time, relatively, maybe around 4 years, but having it end so abruptly was a shot to the gut, even if I didn’t follow it as much as I had been. But I can’t fault him for ending it unexpectedly I guess, it had an effect.

God that armour design is embarrassingly bad

Imagine bedrooms would have hella locks on the doors to prevent zombies causing havoc if people died in their sleep

They would’ve known well ahead of time.

Because it’s more of a wtf twist for people that it ended on a weird number

I liked the ending.
the western alliance.
how society has survived.
hershell as a villain
carl leaving a good life as a courier.
the howdy partner line
the final panel.
it was a good ride.
I really wish there was never a TV Series.

He’s insanely lucky. All his characters suffer from sameface and his anatomy is whack as fuck. A shame the original artist had a tantrum and left. He wasn’t that great either but his characters were a lot more expressive

Crossed

>good read
And that's a good joke

what happened to magna ?

>Hershel lets a fucking walker get loose
>actually tries to sue when somebody puts it down
>has mommy make it so he gets another
>gets all pissy when he's not allowed to have them any more
What a turd.

Rick dying like a bitch leaves a bad taste in my mouth

>no advanced military with nuclear power
>just old folks farm house wild west

disappointing

Shit happens. Human error happens. At some eventual, there'll be a big fuck & it all goes belly up again.

I know, totally should've been a threeway.

Is online, tougth.

I dont know if it does well to Eugene character to still be lying after all those years, or if somehow it undo his growth.

Can we ever get a crossed without creepy fetishes?

No because it would just be Walking Dead but without zombies.

>The white house lawn has fucking mines in it
Not a good case for your argument to be making bullshit up. The lawn that easter egg hunts are held every year on has landmines in it?

Crossed almost got cancelled because the violence and fetishes were getting too gruesome. It was turning into gore porn. The publishers demanded a tone down in the violence and more focus on the story and characters.

Here´s the full volumes zombies image

But user, it was the only thing connecting him to his dad! Totally not an excuse he came up with to make Carl feel bad.

>good read
are you retarded? actually retarded? then i can forgive you

>infantile
And you think Crossed isn't fucking infantile? It's stupid shit 13-year-old boys would come up with. If you're an adult who thinks it ís good you gotta be literally brain damaged. I'm not kidding. You gotta have the shit taste of all the shit tastes to think that Crossed has good writing.

Should've ended it after All Out War but I don't think it was an awful ending, even if everything after the time skip felt weaker and more aimless

>because if it HAD hurt someone he would be liable.

If it had hurt someoe then they could have been swarmed by lions! It does highlight how the threat is so minimized now that they can have arbitrary rules like that.

I'm sure Negan would throw in a few more "you're the second saddest thing to fall out of your mom's cunt next to your dad's limp noodle." Or "You trade zombies? Can't get a living girlfriend then?"

>Should've ended it after All Out War
Pleb opinion, whisperer arc was fucking great for the most part, even though it ended like shit. Commonwealth arc was the actual moment when Kirkman knew he was fucking spent creatively and it shows

Since they didn’t tell comic book owners that this issue was happening, They probably only order their normal WD orders probably no more than 10 to 20 copies order. Second print will be mass produce

Alexa, play Walking Dead violin song.mp3

While owning a ombie is crazy it sounds like he got off because of exteme nepotism and being a celebrity.

They just drew him to look exactly like Rick?

Did you know that kids often look like their parents?

Tony Moore be the Pete best of comics

I think he eventually sued for ownership when the show started picking traction. Wich is scummy as fuck from him.

negan has a quiet house in the middle of no where.

Did you not see the grave-stone that said "lucille" it shows him kneeling at it in one of the final panels

the final word of the entire series, after the forward are "PS Negan Lives"

Attached: Negan END.jpg (886x246, 85K)

Ha didn’t know that. What a piece of s#^t

I followed it from the time they started to get into Alexandria, the time they were starting to have news about the series too.

I remember thinking Rick would go the villain way there and how convenient it was Douglas stepped down for him instead of having him wrestle the role.

>108487391
This series ending was a master craft course. Kirkman killed his own property before the dirty filthy ungrateful fans ALL turned on him and killed it for him. Going out like this gives everyone only warm and fuzzy feelings.

We didnt know what we had untill it was gone

Crossed. Infection basically makes anti-zombies: you retain all intellgence but lose all inhibitions and most self-control, and every sensation is rewritten into pleasure. Entire world is now full of adrenalze jockeys who want to skullfuck you to death and actually understand how to infect others. The edge, it's quite sharp.

Attached: 433332.jpg (2500x1933, 2.32M)

bart's flash series. there was solicits for 2 more issues but it ended with bart dying

also Carl mentions the supplies he leaves out are being used by someone... implying he knows hes out there. Carl even kind of reminisces about him saying even the "bad guys" were your friend now, because you BOTH went through the shit together.

Liked how they did a sudden ending and fake out. Though I called it after rick died. I got so much flack when I said Kirkman in an interview said if Rick dies it is the end of the comic.

Not that user but Archie Sonic The Hedgehog.

Not the spitting image of one of their parents

That isn’t how genetics works

Why is his head so big?

The daughter of one of my bio teachers in high school looked exactly like a younger version of her. Someone we knew in college has a son who looks exactly like he did back then. Shit happens, we don't know why.

Dale got a great fucking ending though.

Axel? I follow you.

in the end the world HAD changed, because we all know Hershel would have killed Carl for that in the old book tone. In the end, hes just pouting in the corner with his mom.

The did a great job of Hershel seeming really ominous, the outfit, his proffession, the way he acted all very self reverential-cliche walking dead.

I'm not gonna demean you or call you a faggot but respectfully, this is not correct

Really meh stuff tbqh. he could've thrown this out there after All Out War and nothing would be different.

I stopped reading after the war with Negan, missed anything good?

Carl got laid and the girl who fucked him was a perfect post-apocalypse waifu. That's basically it.

a predictable ending for a pile of shit done by a fat faggot.

negan, rick, lydia, dale, dwight

he was only left unattended for a couple of days, early on shane say's that he and lori waited around with the hospital staff during the early days and only left for atlanta a week before he came to. seems plausible enough

We are not talking about twins here.
No child is ever the spitting image of just one parent. DNA literally does not work that way

You have similar characteristics to both parents. Nobody is a twin of just one of their parents.

You’re claiming all sons are exact replicas of their fathers? Yeah I think there are l

Crossed is terrible plz stop

Their hair color is different. This artist could have at least changed that much

That's my phone background now

Rick
Carl
Negan
Andrea
Dwight

Compendium fag here. Think the final one will be released this year?

...

enough about your lineage... did you like the comic?

After the prison when his pregnant wife died

Rick, Negan, Dale, Eugine, Abraham

both of my uncle's sons looked exactly like one of his childhood photographs, as they develop they'll start to look more individualistic but it's not uncommon at all to see a child that looks exactly like one of their parents at least for that stretch of their childhood

These characters are still children, Hershel is a grown man and he looks like a good mix of Glen and Maggie but I bet he looked more or less just like Maggie when he was younger

Rick never tries killing himself. You must be mistaken. He wouldn't have done that to Carl

Have you not yet had your share of humiliation or do you concede

>I appreciate Kirkman for acknowledging that he'd basically run out of ideas
if only he did that when he actually ran out of ideas. Like 5 years ago or whenever thast lion guy turned up.

I mean, that just isnt true.

No it isnt you blind fucking retard, thats just the quality of the camera, look at literally every other color in both images.

All he hate to do was chop of their jaws and remove their hand so they’d be walking amputees and would pose literally no problem for anyone

But that makes it less dangerous, meaning less exciting.

>Katana is still in great condition
Wouldn't all the blood, decapitations, dismemberment and other stuff make it dull and rusty?

Didn’t carol die in the show?

The user from last thread was right. It's an okay ending, but it should have had a jumpcut for the very end, showing Rick's statue (now decrepit) with zeds walking past. Showing no matter how long it takes, the Earth ultimately belongs to the walking dead™

Attached: Zombie ronin.jpg (670x1010, 737K)

He did. I think he wanted out, or that he pissed someone off and they decided to kick him out.

Pic related is my favorite cover in the entire series because of how brazen of an introduction it is.

Liked that the ending came out of nowhere. Liked that it was oversized. An interesting way to end it, but not particu satisfactory. Truth to be told, his original ending where the dead win that he talks at the end of the book would have been way better. If he hated it being so bleak, he coukd have just given a small glimmer of ope at the last page. Getting a happy ending like this feels wrong, it doesn't suit the book. And Carl as an adult, although thematically appropriate for the final issue, doesn't deliver satisfying closure.

Michonne letting him off like that also felt completely bullshit. At the very least there ought to have been a panel or two of people bitching about preferential treatment and nepotism, and how it corrupt it was.

Lori where??.

they jumped the shark, and everyone knew it, when the wild haired SJW freak talking about "white men" showed up right before the last or 2nd to last arc.

>pic related

this piece of shit showed up talking about white men, her 'prefferred name" and mentions over and over how shes "not normal" and a ' a little weird" and sjw self insert shit like that. I have no idea if the character was a satire or not. Judging by the editorial comments in the back of issues later on, im going to guess no, but literally the exact panel this character showed up, I KNEW the end was finally, finally in sight, after 16 years. im 30+ years old and have been reading this book since like issue 20, and i knew it was finally over when I saw her. literally made me drop the book untill like issue #185 or so.

Attached: princess.png (1200x600, 252K)

"Princess" was her name. fuck i couldnt remember, but she gives a little speech about her "prefferred name" during her interview into the community. in another issue she laments white men, and the lack ( or the presence of color) in whatever group she meets from Ricks world.

and desu, i have no idea what brought me back to this book, I must have 'sensed' the end was nigh. Because it was a CHORE, a litteral actual CHORE to read. I had to force my self through it. I gave up the tv-show years ago.

that said, the ending was beautiful, brilliant, and deprived fuck-head fans their pleasure of runnning YOUR creation, YOUR blood sweat and tears into the ground just because they want to.

The ending left you with nothing but "good memories" and almost a sense of fragility with mortality. The things we 'love' in life, or take for granted, can actually dissappear in an instant.

Attached: WalkingTrashDropped.jpg (1000x1537, 462K)

>implying its the crossed virus that makes them do that

Just go fuck yourself.

Faggots who talk like you do don't deserve to be listened to even if they're right.

Maybe i wouldnt talk like that if you werent a retard.

Archie didn't put out fake solicits though, they were intended to be legit but the series was put on a year-long hiatus and then canned when everyone stopped paying attention. You can find the raw pencils for those issues still too.

Having Negan be some Judge Richter like daemon of the apocalypse would have been great.

If you didn't clean it afterwards sure

How much money would they make if they hired someone to color the comics

How sheltered are you?

Stopped reading around the early 100's
How did they deal with Negan killing Glen?

I doubt it.
You seem to perceive everyone as a bigger asshole than you, therefore you probably only have one setting

Rick told him the error of his way, Negan finally realized how stupid he was being, Rick slashes his throat and Negan breaks Rick's leg before passing out from blood loss. Negan gets tossed in jail. Cue a time skip of about 7 years. Negan is still in jail, Alexandria has expanded in size. Stuff goes down, new bad guys emerge to try and destroy the communities. Rick asks Negan for advice and Rick takes it. Later on Negan is let out of jail by a vengeful kid who's angry at Rick. Plan is to kill Rick, Negan gets outside of the walls of Alexandria, he kills the kid for the disrespecting Rick. Negan goes to the new big bads community and tries to join. He gets close to the leader of the community, it seems as though he will join and crush Alexandria, instead he cuts off the leaders head, and brings it to Rick in Alexandria. He doesn't get put back into the cell, he and Rick later save each others live from walkers. Negan is outcast from the walls of Alexandria and given supplies to live on his own. Maggie goes to murder him and he begs for her to do it. He confesses how much he regrets what he did to Glen, and how he just wants to be with his deceased wife. Maggie finds his miserable pathetic existence of bitter loneliness a worse punishment than death, and leaves him to cry alone begging for death. After the 20+ year time skip of the final issue we see he is still living in complete isolation.

Okay retardo

Post-Prison travelling to D.C. all the way to the beginning of the Alexandria arc is peak TWD

Your vocabulary needs work too.
I’d be more apathetic towards you if I wasn’t so lethargic.

You clearly dont know words no good, dingbat.

That makes no sense.
You’re bad and should feel bad.

This guy wins the argument because he said dingbat now can you guys just stop this madness.

Nobody’s doing this for online internet points.
This isn’t The Great Kazoos fantasy league.

So are you brain damaged or whats up with you, retardingo?

Did they even explained what caused the zombie disease?

I feel like this question is a troll.

I didn't expect the ending to hit me this hard. I dropped the series about a year and a half ago, and only decided to catch up 2 months ago when I heard they were killing Rick off. I've been crying for the last 20 minutes after finishing 193, for a series that I didn't think I gave that much of a shit about. If this series ending hits me this hard, I'll probably end up killing myself when One Piece ends

Just do the world a favor and slit both your wrists

Sophia? Is she the one that got lost in the woods and became a zombie on the television show?

I think you can buy the Walking Dead collections/graphic novels, where they collect many of the issues into one book over at Costco or at a comic book shop.

But i dont like pain.

Great ending imo.

I laughed though when the group of white kids made fun of Carl's disfigurement and the only one to defend him was the black kid. Lol. Kirkman just can't help himself. IRL:

>Shiiit. You ugly. Missin' eye hole in head muthafucka

Daryl voice * SOPHIA * *SOPHIA * SOPHIA * SOPHIA*

there were like 3 episodes of him shouting *SOPHIA* over and over, I can still hear his accent

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophia_Peletier

She didn't die in the comics.

They're lucky to still have that. Where the fuck are they going to get the oil for gas or the factories and rare elements to churn out batteries for all that shit.

The Commonwealth is the size of a small country now and they have a large, professional military, and TRAINS in a world that's been thrown back to the 1800s level of technology where having horses and massed infantry matter. Nothing Negan could whip up out in the wastelands could do shit against them beyond petty raids, they'd wreck him the moment he tried anything serious.

I think they'd grow bio-fuels.

pretty much all these time skip new characters turned out to be useless and their plotlines ended up nowhere
they are all filler for mc death arc

Except this time literally everyone knows what to do in case of an outbreak. There would be casualties but the complete collapse of society wouldn't happen again.

Holy fuck this ending sucked. WHY WHY WHY COULDN'T YOU GIVE US A FEW LINES OF DIALOUGE WITH NEGAN

Fuck off kirkman fat fuck

I have more reasons why this ending sucked but I just read it tonight and need to compose myself

yeah it's bullshit
>b-but negan talks too much!
he barely got to interact with Carl post-All Out War it stinks

>CARL
>CARL
>CAN YOU GIVE ME A HAAAAAAAAND?

>Paper

So fucking Carl went to a war and killed a bunch of people including Andrea for a girl he didnt even stay with.

How come TWD fans never say the Prison era was the best?

I don't care about TWD, but I fucking hate zombie settings where the world just kind of goes back to normal. "We can have icecream again!" Fucking boring trash.

Sophia is cuter and Lydia has so much baggage that Carl probably couldn’t even unpack it.
That and I’m pretty sure Lydia was just using Carl in an attempt to feel love. I don’t think love was actually there on her part.

Interesting. The games are shit but I wonder how close Clems ending is to that one

They could just use explosive headbands like the post-zombie apocalypse story "We Are All Very Lively".

media.libsyn.com/media/pseudopod/Pseudo037_WeAreAllVeryLively.mp3

Sensor finds your heart stopped, wired explosives go "pop". Their world is still intact enough to cobble together some shit, and with the communities working together, they can mass-produce. 50 years down the road without the manufacturing to keep producing the basic materials, however...well, cross that bridge when you come to it.

Crossed is fucking terrible kill yourself

>over 30 years old
>gives a shit about muh sjws

Jesus you're fucking pathetic dude

That's kind of what the Commonwealth arc was. Rick having to choose between an older way of life enforced by remnants of the government and a strong military force or his own way of life

Eventually as time moves on nobody who was around for the apocalypse would be alive and people would get complacent, we even see it starting to happen this final chapter with Herschel's zombie circus
It'll probably happen again

Either a walker or her corpse is still at the prison. Kind of weird Carl wouldn't try to retrieve her and his sister for a proper burial.
