Its very obvious they didn't want to have a little blind girl get crushed to death in a sand coffin. That's the only explanation for her victory over Gaara. Even chunin Gaara was a monster, totally ignoring his Shukaku transformation he's way too much for someone like Toph who's never killed anyone. Unless she kills him very quickly and decisively she has no chance against him. It took someone like Lee or Sasuke who were both fast enough to evade him to actually pose a challenge, Toph's literally a blind sitting duck, as soon as he attacks the fight ends

Gaara's shtick is controlling sand that his opponents cannot control. Toph comes from a world that has a race of people who can control Gaara's sand. Gaara loses, sorry.

Didn't watch this, but Gaara can float on a block of Sand and attack from the air. Pretty sure Toph is fucked.

Gaara has control over the sand though. Plus in Avatar if you want to bend something that someone else is bending don't you have to wrestle for control of it. Since Gaara is a master at sand and Toph was shown that she wasn't good at sand bending.

She can control earth/sand that isn't on the ground, but she just can't see/sense it. We see her using her bending to levitate rocks pretty often. She may be able to hear the sand grains hitting against each other in the air that may allow her to see them. Either way she is at a disadvantage in sand, as it's hard for her to see in it.

All in all the only way I see toph winning is if she goes in with a full intent to kill and full understanding of what Gaara can do, then crushes his head with his own sand shield that he keeps on his skin.

Any other drawn out fight will end in Gaara winning. Especially if he uses sand waterfall to flood the land with sand which will further weaken toph. He can also use his magnet release to fly, to which point she's completely fucked against.

I said she can possibly win in one possible scenario but would lose if she missed that single chance, and it would only work on Gaara because he had earth all over his body that she would be able to bend. Last I checked the other characters in Naruto don't have that issue.

Also you seem to be in shitty DBZ power scaling mindset. If we want to go by that then think of it like Spike's Devilmight beam. Spike is a weak character however he has an ability that can kill 99% of the characters in DBZ with a single hit.

Also Naruto character can bullshit most any fight into their favor. Really no Avatar character would have much of a chance against

She would be able to bend Gaara's own sand as easily as any other sand. While it would take him more effort to bend his own sand. The chance of her winning in my view is slim but it's foolish to ever deny that there is a chance.

Gaara's earth and metal manipulation abilities are just flat out stronger and faster that Toph's.
Not only does he not have to move in order to use them, something that can't be said of any goddamn earth bender, but they also move fast enough that even someone moving so fast they cannot be seen was only just barely getting past his automatic defense, a speed Toph has never even come remotely close to matching.
As for metal, Toph bends with impurities in it, and the smaller the amount of metal the fewer impurities it has simply by law of averages.
Gaara manipulates it with Magnitism, meaning he does not suffer from this restriction.

This episode helped me to grow up. I have very strong feelings about who should win but then I realized that nobody else in the internet cared about my opinions and I wouldn't change anyone's mind by ranting about it. The only winning move is to stop getting mad about power level arguments and to stop watching deathbattle videos.

I’m not a huge nerd but I think most people from Naruto would outright slay most of if not all of the players from Avatar. Just in outright physical power and speed most Naruto ninja are super human. Most avatar people are normal with a side of magic Kung-fu. Even adding equal magical powers the ninja are still far ahead.

Stop trying to put science in it. Most metal isn’t effected by magnetism (unless we are talking about the electrons). Only ferrous metals are physically moved by magnetic fields. Meaning that tooth would have more control over metal then Gaara

Shukaku protects Gaara, Yashamaru told Gaara that his mother was protecting him so he would feel loved.
