It's some sort of odd sidesword that's kind of an amalgamation of sabre/smallsword designs. It's got a cup hilt with a simple knucklebow and a straight blade. it does have some rudimentary pommel, so we can't call it a sabre, though the blade hearkens back to some french cavalry sabers. If you had to press me, i'd have to call it a chopped up smallsword, or maybe a smallsword hilt that's been refitted with a short saber blade. Dussack sabre discipline may be her best option in using it efficiently, as normal 17th-19th century cavalry sabre discipline won't jell with the blade design, and it's far too short to be used in the dueling practices of the smallsword.
Also, put that thing on your belt, Cass. Crying out loud, putting a sword on your back is hardly ever a good idea, especially not with your sword in particular.
