Jeph probably doesn't have one and doesn't need one. Martin and Faye were teased for like the first thousand strips but nothing came of it and they don't even hang out anymore. Most of the ongoing characters have been dropped or demoted to extras the moment he got bored.
In Ye Olden Tymes this was the draw of QC. It had a core cast of maybe half a dozen characters(Martin, Dora, Faye, Pintsize, Hannelore, ect.) that the comic would orient itself around that had obvious and distinct personalities. It didn't matter if the rest of the cast rotated out or those core characters wasted a week of strips talking about indie music or inane bullshit, it was a fun way to spend a few minutes. There was Drama, like involving Faye's dad or Martin's mom, but it mostly served to give you a window into why a member of the core cast was the way they were and break up the same couple of locations like the coffee shop and Martin's apartment from getting stale. It basically functioned as a sitcom like Friends or Seinfeld.
The art reflected this: Jeph had a reputation for constantly experimenting and improving and if you look back on his first decade of making comics he went from doing crude scribbles to half decent to experimenting with textures and shades. The art was simple but it was kept fresh and above most of his contemporaries which relied on simple cartoony styles that rarely evolved like Buckley literally pasting expressions.
Now however it's all over the place and not in a good way. The core cast has been written out almost entirely with Faye doing her own thing. This is less like Friends and more like Joey. You could also make the comparison to a lot of Manga that start gag oriented but get serious, as is fairly common, but those artists are noted for either constantly improving themselves or having failing numbers as a result. Bleach went from no. 3 in it's publication to near the bottom the near instant Kubo began phoning it in.
His setting is singularity. Automation should make scarcity a thing of the past. At least to.the point that poverty as experienced by May and others shouldn't exist.

Stabby is a leftist (far leftist going by the memes) which means their views on such things are actually kinda alien. See, being rich means you have privilege (which is evil), and so long as you're rich, you're privileged, and you're evil.
now, a reasonable person would look at the rich and say "you could do a lot of good with that money, donate to help others" but donating wealth is nothing more than throwing your privilege around, and since on a "fundamental level" you don't have a right to that money nothing you do with that money is morally correct. the only moral thing to do would be to not have that wealth/privilege in the first place. so you could give up 100% of your wealth, in which case you are no longer wealthy, but you were wealthy and so therefor you were privileged and thus you're a bad guy. The only really moral thing is to have that money taken away from you and redistributed to the "common people" as you put it.
Ironically enough, it's better for rich people to horde their wealth than give it away, so that it's there to be taken by the "righteous, good, unprivileged people" to do with as they please.
